If My People Will Hear 00:03:47
This book will draw you nearer to the Lord.
True.
He gives you a hook on every page almost.
Every word.
Every page.
I wish I'd written this book.
I really do because it is so good and so powerful.
And I've read so many books.
I'm weary of reading because my eyes are.
Well, I used to say that, and you know, as I told you, you're the first ones to read it.
I wrote it not asking for anybody's guidance because I was afraid I would, if I, you know, tried to get other people's opinion, that I would not stick close to what I thought God was telling me to do, which is to write a book for people who don't know who he is.
You didn't have ignorant.
Even at the publishing company, it told you, don't do this, do this, do that.
No, no, Tom Horne.
I know Tom Horne.
Tom is the president of your company.
Yes.
And he told me when I just described to him what I wanted to do.
Yes.
And the title, the title if, which is a very strange title.
It's excellent, though.
You explain why.
Well, by the time you get it into the book, it's an if book.
Well, if you read the Bible, you see the word if thousands of times because it's thousands of times people.
Yeah It's probably the biggest word in the Bible.
Yes.
If my people.
Yes.
If, if, if.
If my people.
Now, what people don't know, even the ministers who quote it, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, which is part of it, I'll hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
And it pronounces blessings in about four verses in 2 Chronicles, the 7th chapter.
At the dedication of Solomon's temple, Solomon was saying what God has told him.
But the ministers don't read the next 10 verses, which says, if you do not seek my face, if you do not turn to your evil ways, I'm going to do boom, things that you're not going to want or like.
And so the if was so significant, but we just skim right over that because we in this country especially feel that we are those people, then that America founded on Christian biblical principles, that we, if my people who are called by my name, yes, we were, we may not be now, but we are called by your name, humble themselves, well, we're not humbling ourselves very much anymore,
but we did and turn from their wicked way.
Well, let's skip over that part about turn from my wicked ways because we're not good at that.
But we are those people, and therefore we inherit all those promises.
No, wait a minute.
You've left out the condition, the most important word is, if my people do this, I will do.
Even in, as I think I told you, our beloved John 3, 16, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting, what?
What was that part?
That perish part?
Shall not perish.
The if, if you don't receive him and his word and who he is, you're not only going to perish, you're already dead in your sins.
That's what the Bible says.
You're lost and without hope, the Bible says.
