God of Generations 00:03:50
You believe in generational blessings.
Tell me about that.
Talk about it.
Yeah, absolutely.
I was just thinking about this earlier today, actually.
In Exodus, I believe it's Exodus 3, God appears to Moses and He reveals Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in that moment.
And so He's seen the wickedness and what's been going on against His people as they've been held captive there in Egypt.
But He comes, and one of the first things He says to Moses in that moment is He reminds him, I believe that He is the God of generations.
Yes, He's the God who's been there, He's the God who's here, and He's the God who's going to stay around.
That's right.
And so, when I look, when we look at generational blessings, I look at my father's life, I look at my grandparents' life, those people who have walked and come before me, and I've seen the faithful hand of God at work in their life, I've seen the blessings that have come in them, but also been poured out even into my generation now.
And I have kids too, right?
That there are generations that come after me that I want to see the blessing of God upon their lives as well.
And so, I, as we look at the Bible, even there out of Exodus, I see God introducing Himself as the generational God, He sure did.
You know, Hebrews 11:13, it says that all these died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, right?
Because you see, here's what happens: so often we all receive words from God, right?
And we think we assume that's all going to be fulfilled in my lifetime.
And then people die.
This is what happened to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.
They received words from God, but the fullness of those words weren't going to happen until generations later.
And I always tell people: I said, if your vision is only limited to your lifetime, it's not God's.
Oh, that's scary.
Because the vision of God is generational in nature, and that we need to raise up the next generation and see the blessing of generations come so that they can fulfill the ultimate purposes of God.
Amen.
Kids, keep on.
We have to.
Keep on.
We have to.
It's so important.
So important.
Because we go back to this great moment in time when you face something.
You always can go back to God, remember what you did through my father.
Yes.
And this is something that we pray as a team here, as a family.
Dad, remember, Dad, God, remember what you did through Pastor Jim, through our father.
The blessing, the faith, everything that you've done throughout his life, Lord.
You never left him.
You never forsake him.
Lord, the same moment that he experienced with you, God, let us experience that for now.
And listen, I pray that you will claim that word for you.
Marisela has been diligent to claiming that word for us in this ministry.
Yeah.
For God to remember what he's done through dad.
And I'm going to tell you something.
You begin to see hope in a miracle, and you can cash in almost.
You can, you know, that's your inheritance.
That's right.
But you have to fight for it.
You have to fight for your, even if you're the one that broke that curse.
And I think about Marisela.
I think about my life, Tammy Sue.
Maybe your family history is not like most church people.
Maybe you came out of a life like we did that was cursed.
Yeah.
The moment I was born, my mom didn't want me.
So it's different than yours.
Claiming Inheritance 00:00:57
And you maybe don't relate to Adam, but you relate to me probably.
But I want to tell you something.
The same results play out because you begin to claim the inheritance.
And I say this: you claim it.
And I believe in spiritual fathers and mothers.
Absolutely.
And that's where I gravitated from the two of you and said, wait a minute, my father and mother probably didn't give me that inheritance, but my spiritual mother and dad did.
I'm going to claim that.
And now I'm going to fulfill that to my next generation, which is Mila and Mateo.
That's right.
This is a powerful because if you learn to listen to the headlines, what's a battle?
What's at war right now?
Babies.
Our family.
A generation.
And here it's a genocide of babies and generations that are being murdered.
63 million babies in America.
73 million generations murdered worldwide every year.
