Center Of The Nations 00:03:00
This is history alive.
It's called Jerusalem Rising, the City of Peace Reawakens.
It's inspired by the ancient prophet Zachariah.
How does your book document the fulfillment of these prophecies of his?
Well, you know, there's one of the most repeated promises from the prophets is that God will return his people back to the land, but specifically even back to Jerusalem.
Jerusalem has always been really the center of the nation.
Ezekiel 5, 5 says that God has placed Jerusalem in the center of the nations.
And so here we are coming to the end of days, and it's like he's placing not only reminding us that Jerusalem is in the center of the nations, but he's placing it in the center of our hearts as well.
And so Zachariah 8 says these profound things that really have never come to pass before, is that God is saying, I am jealous for Zion.
And he says, I'm going to return to the city.
A profound thing for a prophet in biblical times to say, I am returning to the city to dwell with my people.
And I'm going to gather the people back from the east and from the west.
Old men and old women will dwell safely in the streets.
Boys and girls will play in the streets.
Sometimes when I take groups with Ezra Adventures, we read these scriptures about the children because the children are running.
They're running all over.
And then by the end of the chapter, he's saying that the nations will flood to Jerusalem.
And prior to COVID in 2018 and 2019, it was the largest tourism numbers that Jerusalem has ever seen, really, perhaps ever.
And so even though that it's in the context of coming to worship the Lord, it's undeniable that a lot of these things that Zachariah have prophesied in the scope of history have just simply never happened before.
And so we're starting to be able to document the beginning stages of what God is doing.
And really, Doug, one of the things that really turned me on in the book was that it's not only the buildings and not only the mountains, but a lot of the faces.
And I said, we all stand astonished and privileged to live in these days where the words of the prophets, as you said, Jim, are coming out of the book and they're materializing and they're becoming a reality.
And we see how Jerusalem is standing up to her name.
The name city of Shalom, Yerushalaim, Ir Shalom.
And many people mistakenly think that the word shalom means peace or tolerance.
But actually shalom is something much greater.
Shalom originates from the word shalom, complete, comprehensive.
And shalom refers to the inclusiveness, the diversity of the peoples that are there.
And in our tradition, it's also God's name, Shalom, the city of Shalom.
Every Family's Peace 00:01:46
Harmony.
In Hebrew, the word harmony is Armon Yah, which means the palace of God.
And it reflects the legacy of the battles of the Bible against separate gods.
It speaks up as a city calling out to all nations to come serve the Lord on Zion, on the Temple Mount.
And it is chosen mountain and it unite in spite of all the differences.
And I think that this wonderful thing that Doug is doing is really living the book.
And you can come and feel like you're walking with the people.
And as a Tor God, I always say to people, I show so many views in Israel, but the most beautiful view is the human view.
Come and see the eyes.
Look at the people in the eyes.
Talk to them.
Sit with them on Shabbat family table.
You'll get the beauty of Jerusalem.
And when you get married, you break a glass and you say, Jerusalem is not complete.
And we want this marriage to be complete.
And that's the symbol of Jerusalem.
And you sit on the Passover night, family night.
You say, next year in Jerusalem.
This is what Jerusalem is all about.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Does not only mean for the peace in Jerusalem.
You pray for Jerusalem peace in the world so that anybody who opens this book gets the blessing of Jerusalem to his family, to his house, to his home.
Jerusalemite peace.
You always say Jerusalemite peace, not the peace of Jerusalem.
It should have been Jerusalemite peace.
That means that every family, every home that has peace in it is actually fulfilling the prophet and getting Jerusalemite peace everywhere, all over the world.
