Shemitah Cycle: Year of Liberty 00:03:11
Mark, what does the Bible tell us about the importance of the seventh year?
Well, that seventh year is what is known as the Shemitah cycle.
But I believe the seventh year is a time of testing to get you ready for the next seven years.
In the book of Jeremiah, they had not kept the Shemitah cycle for 490 years.
The land was supposed to rest every seven years.
For 70 times, the land never got to rest.
That's why they were in Babylon for 70 years.
So the land could rest that it didn't get the 490 years past.
Well, guess what?
They could have avoided this.
At the Shemitah year, right before the temple was destroyed, they had finally let everyone free.
They released everyone from their burdens, their slavery, their indebtedness.
But then what happened?
This is what is mind-blowing.
Nebuchadnezzar is besieging Jerusalem.
Well, Egypt comes to help Israel.
So Babylon leaves, and Israel gave all the credit to Babylon leaving to Egypt and not to God.
And they turned around and put everyone back into captivity in that Shemitah year.
So God says, okay, I will proclaim liberty.
Now, this is significant.
He's saying, I will proclaim liberty.
But this time it's liberty to the sword and to death.
And all that took place the first year of the next Shemitah cycle is when the temple was destroyed.
It's all about proclaiming liberty.
Now, let me bring this up.
We know that it is always in the Shemitah cycle when liberty is proclaimed.
But I want to talk for a minute about the year of Jubilee.
This is so important.
The Lord in Isaiah, he's quoting Isaiah where he's proclaiming liberty to the captives when he began his ministry.
Now, I believe that more than likely was a Shemitah cycle, not necessarily the year of Jubilee, but it says in Leviticus 25, you can only proclaim the year of Jubilee on Yom Kippur.
Very significant.
If you would go to the next slide, and you're back to that slide, and I'm going to blow you away.
I want you to notice that, like I said, those lunar, solar, lunar eclipses was a one-week warning before the next seven-year cycle begins.
In, look at this, 2022, 2023.
That's next year.
Do you know the same four blood moons appeared in 1966, 1967 before the next Shemitah cycle began, which was 1973?
Year of Jubilee Mystery 00:00:42
Now, again, listen to this.
You can only proclaim the year of Jubilee on Yom Kippur.
Well, what do we know about 73?
That was the Yom Kippur War.
I believe that was the year of Jubilee.
And if you go 50 years, it takes you exactly to 2022, 2023, because the year of Jubilee isn't a separate year.
The year of Jubilee is just the first year of the next seven-year cycle.
All they have is seven-year cycles.
They don't have extra years thrown in.
