Bible School Basics 00:03:05
We all need this.
Every single one of us needs this.
And I love how on the back of the 10-part video series, you just ask this simple question.
Are you a spiritual infant, teenager, or adult?
And this series, like Pastor Rick Reynard just said, this series will help you so much to understand.
It's like going to Bible school.
I love that.
Let's share God's plan for Christian spiritual growth.
I just love your teaching.
It helps us all.
It ministers to me.
Yes.
You know, because there's times when I'm fighting the devil.
Yeah.
You know, you're fighting your own thoughts, you know, and you need the reinforcement of the word.
So share God's plan for every Christian's spiritual growth.
You know, I think if you walked into a first grade classroom, you saw all the little students sitting at their desks, and there in the middle of all the students was a 65-year-old man with his legs tucked under the little tiny desk sitting there among all the other students.
You might think that's kind of bizarre.
Well, if he never had an opportunity for education, that would be very humbling and impressive that he wanted to get some education.
But if that man has been sitting at that same desk since he was five years old, year after year after year after year after year, there's something very wrong with this picture.
And that is exactly what takes place in the church.
There are people who have known the Lord for years and years and years and years, but they're still sitting at their little desk because they've not grown in the most important principles of scripture.
They're still spiritually in the first grade, even though they've been attending church for years and years and years.
And that is not the will of God for me or Denise or you or anybody else.
God wants us to grow up.
And this book is called Build Your Foundation.
But let me tell you, we don't need to get stuck in the foundation either.
God wants us to go on.
And in fact, in Hebrews chapter 6, in verse 1, when it says, let us go on unto perfection, guess what?
The word perfection is the Greek word teleotes.
It is the very Greek word which was used to describe a student who graduated from one class to the next level, to the next level, to the next level, which means when you walk with Jesus, there's no end to graduation.
You go from glory to glory, but first you have to be established in the principal things.
And by the way, when the Bible talks about the first principles, that word principles is the Greek word arches.
It really describes the ABCs of the Christian faith.
You have to be established in the ABCs first.
Then you can begin to go on to greater and more exciting things.
