Truth's Decline 00:01:57
Alex, in your book, you say something that I believe is so powerful.
You say, when truth dies, then so do ethics.
What is happening to truth in our nation?
Well, that's a great question.
Thanks for asking it.
Well, you know, the traditional view of truth that certainly America's founders believed and people, leaders up until the last, you know, 10 or 20 years believed, truth is what's real.
Truth is what corresponds to reality.
For instance, if I said, hey, we're doing this program right now on the North American continent of the Western Hemisphere, you know, we could check it out and we would say, wow, that's true.
That's what they're doing.
If I said, we're filming this show from, you know, Mars, that does not correspond to reality.
That's not true.
But what makes this period of history so dangerous and so urgent that we turn back to Christ is that we're living in a time where people believe they can make up their own truth.
And so we've abandoned truth.
Now, there's a reason that we've abandoned truth, and we can talk about that.
But when you're not living on truth, and remember, Jesus said that he is the truth, John 14, 6.
And when Jesus was before Pilate in John 18, 35, Pilate said, what is truth?
Jesus said, I came into this world to bear witness of the truth.
Everyone that is of the truth will hear my voice.
So we've got millions of people that they reject God.
They ignore the voice of Jesus.
They're not living in truth.
And it's grown to the point that, like I say, it threatens our very future because if we're not living in truth, conversely, we are living in that which is false.
