Prayer as Exchange 00:01:44
What is a prophetic prayer?
Well, that's a good question.
I think a lot of people think it's some made-up thing that I've made up.
It's absolutely not.
It's a, well, when we look at prophecy, prophecy is the intention of the Lord upon a matter or a problem.
It's God's intention.
It's his heart.
It's his answers.
And it's simply praying into those answers.
You know, there's a word in the New Testament, the word prayer.
And the Greek word for that word prayer is exchanging.
It's an exchange.
And it means to simply exchange our ideas for God's ideas.
And so when we pray prophetic prayers, we're simply praying into the heart of God over a problem and releasing that as a decree into the situation.
Incredible.
I love that.
Isn't that amazing that God would let us do that with him?
I mean, we're talking about God.
God, our God, and yet he's our friend.
He's our father.
He's God of the universe.
It's amazing that we have that opportunity as believers.
Why are we all called to release prophecy and prayer, Christy?
You know, I think it's the partnership.
It comes back to God's desire for partnership with us.
And it goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden.
You look at Adam and God gave Adam this amazing mandate of partnering with him to name all the animals.
And when you actually look into all of that, it was actually a decree of authority.
It's the same word used when it says Adam called the animals their names.
It's the same word used where God called the earth into existence.
And so it's this beautiful partnership where the Lord actually wants us to partner with him.
