Prayer as Exchange
00:01:44
|
|
| What is a prophetic prayer? | |
| Well, that's a good question. | |
| I think a lot of people think it's some made-up thing that I've made up. | |
| It's absolutely not. | |
| It's a, well, when we look at prophecy, prophecy is the intention of the Lord upon a matter or a problem. | |
| It's God's intention. | |
| It's his heart. | |
| It's his answers. | |
| And it's simply praying into those answers. | |
| You know, there's a word in the New Testament, the word prayer. | |
| And the Greek word for that word prayer is exchanging. | |
| It's an exchange. | |
| And it means to simply exchange our ideas for God's ideas. | |
| And so when we pray prophetic prayers, we're simply praying into the heart of God over a problem and releasing that as a decree into the situation. | |
| Incredible. | |
| I love that. | |
| Isn't that amazing that God would let us do that with him? | |
| I mean, we're talking about God. | |
| God, our God, and yet he's our friend. | |
| He's our father. | |
| He's God of the universe. | |
| It's amazing that we have that opportunity as believers. | |
| Why are we all called to release prophecy and prayer, Christy? | |
| You know, I think it's the partnership. | |
| It comes back to God's desire for partnership with us. | |
| And it goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. | |
| You look at Adam and God gave Adam this amazing mandate of partnering with him to name all the animals. | |
| And when you actually look into all of that, it was actually a decree of authority. | |
| It's the same word used when it says Adam called the animals their names. | |
| It's the same word used where God called the earth into existence. | |
| And so it's this beautiful partnership where the Lord actually wants us to partner with him. | |
