Jim Bakker Show - Prophetic Prayer - Christy Johnston Aired: 2020-10-16 Duration: 01:44 === Prayer as Exchange (01:44) === [00:00:00] What is a prophetic prayer? [00:00:04] Well, that's a good question. [00:00:05] I think a lot of people think it's some made-up thing that I've made up. [00:00:09] It's absolutely not. [00:00:10] It's a, well, when we look at prophecy, prophecy is the intention of the Lord upon a matter or a problem. [00:00:17] It's God's intention. [00:00:18] It's his heart. [00:00:19] It's his answers. [00:00:21] And it's simply praying into those answers. [00:00:23] You know, there's a word in the New Testament, the word prayer. [00:00:28] And the Greek word for that word prayer is exchanging. [00:00:31] It's an exchange. [00:00:32] And it means to simply exchange our ideas for God's ideas. [00:00:37] And so when we pray prophetic prayers, we're simply praying into the heart of God over a problem and releasing that as a decree into the situation. [00:00:46] Incredible. [00:00:47] I love that. [00:00:48] Isn't that amazing that God would let us do that with him? [00:00:52] I mean, we're talking about God. [00:00:54] God, our God, and yet he's our friend. [00:00:57] He's our father. [00:00:58] He's God of the universe. [00:01:00] It's amazing that we have that opportunity as believers. [00:01:04] Why are we all called to release prophecy and prayer, Christy? [00:01:12] You know, I think it's the partnership. [00:01:14] It comes back to God's desire for partnership with us. [00:01:17] And it goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. [00:01:19] You look at Adam and God gave Adam this amazing mandate of partnering with him to name all the animals. [00:01:25] And when you actually look into all of that, it was actually a decree of authority. [00:01:31] It's the same word used when it says Adam called the animals their names. [00:01:35] It's the same word used where God called the earth into existence. [00:01:39] And so it's this beautiful partnership where the Lord actually wants us to partner with him.
