Why Israel Matters
00:02:59
|
|
| Why do so many of you want the United States to end its relationship with Israel? | |
| Why, you know, to the Christian, Israel's not an alternative. | |
| Israel isn't something we can check yes or no. | |
| God says, if you support Israel, I'm going to support you, basically, and I'm going to take care of you if you take care of Israel. | |
| But yet, why in the world so many hate Israel right now? | |
| Well, Jim, I think that that goes back to the biblical times. | |
| I mean, I think that the Jews have been the most persecuted and harshly treated entity in human history. | |
| And it's the same today. | |
| And I think it's purely a spiritual issue. | |
| It's spiritual warfare, but the Jews have always been persecuted, and the people that hate the Jews absolutely abhor the fact that America has been so supportive of Israel really since 1948 when it became crazy because we win. | |
| We're finally winning. | |
| The Christian church, we believe in Israel. | |
| We believe in Jerusalem. | |
| And then we get a president who finally keeps his word and moves the embassy there to Jerusalem. | |
| And it's exciting. | |
| I think the world must be going crazy because we're happy and they're not. | |
| You know what I mean? | |
| So what about Saudi Arabia and other places in the Middle East? | |
| How important is the Mideast to us right now? | |
| Yeah, well, the Mideast is very important, and it's to some extent, in fact, to a very large extent, because of Israel. | |
| You know, if you stop and take a realistic look at the fact that Israel is surrounded on all sides by its enemies. | |
| It is. | |
| Now, I would make the case that today, with President al-Sisi in power in Egypt, that the threat from Egypt has been reduced, and with the king in Jordan, that threat has been reduced. | |
| But all those other Arab nations are huge threats to Israel. | |
| And if you look at the wars that have been fought there, 48, 56, 67, and 73, and then, of course, the wars in Lebanon, they have always been hugely outnumbered by Arab Muslim armies that wanted to destroy them and have made it very clear that that's their ultimate objective. | |
| But Israel has prevailed. | |
| So I think we have to go back and recognize that this is, read the Bible, read the prophecies. | |
| Go back to the prophecies. | |
| And what you see unfolding today, I think, is very prophetic. | |
| And the world hates the Jews. | |
