Everyday Rubric

|
| How can we apply what you're teaching here to our everyday life? | |
| And every day has real deep problems. | |
| Every day I wake up with what I call my life rubric. | |
| Just guiding principles. | |
| It begins with this. | |
| Today's complacency is tomorrow's captivity. | |
| I can't be complacent on my circumstance. | |
| Number two, You are what you tolerate. | |
| There are things that we tolerate that we have the authority and the power to rebuke. | |
| Yes. | |
| But we accommodate ourselves to the circumstance and we tolerate it. | |
| Number three, never sacrifice truth on the altar of expediency. | |
| Never sacrifice it. | |
| Even if it's the easy way out, never do it. | |
| These principles guide me every single day. | |
| Every single day. | |
| So when the negative things happen, when life happens, when life interrupts, I fall back to that rubric, knowing very well Philippians 1.6, the good work he has started, he will finish. | |
| 1 Thessalonians 5.24, he who called you is faithful to do it. | |
| So I'm dependent on God's words and God's promises. | |
| I've lived it out. | |
| I've seen it. | |
| There's a fine line between the prophetic and the pathetic. | |
| There is. | |
| There really is. | |
| And I've been in the presence of both. | |
| Yes. | |
| You asked the question, how can people push back when they are confronted with things that paralyze them? | |
| Believe God for his promises. | |
| 2 Corinthians 1.20, all of God's promises are yes and amen. | |
| So every single week, I kid you not, on Mondays, I quote, I pray and remind God of his promises. | |
| Whoa. | |
| That's good. | |
| Over my life and my children and my children's children. | |
| And I have a list of promises and I have them on my iPhone and I go through that list every single Monday and that's my prayer for that Monday. | |
| I prayed, of course, throughout the week, but I begin the week uttering the prayers and I see the word of God coming to pass. | |
| There is power. | |
| There is power. | |
| You have to believe the word of God, driven by the Spirit of God, push back in the darkness. | |
| Don't listen to the devil's lies. | |
| It's all a distraction. | |
| That's true. | |
| But it's all a distraction. | |
| It's the enemy trying to distract you. | |
| He's trying to get your attention. | |
| Don't give him the attention he wants. | |
| Say amen, people. | |
| In Jesus' name. | |
| Some of you out there, you're paralyzed almost. | |
| Yeah, man. | |
| He's preaching. | |
| To the overlord. | |
