If One Part Suffers 00:03:50
What do you see when you're in China?
What do you see in the world?
What can the church do?
Something that you know works.
What can you do?
Yeah, what can we do is I think based on really the scriptures teaching that if one part of the body suffers, the whole body suffers.
Yes.
No matter you are a member in the North Korean church, Andrew Church or Chinese church, Nigerian church or Iranian church or any churches, if any part, we are one body of Christ.
If one part suffers, we all suffers.
I think that the most important thing we could do in the free world is to really sincerely remember, find specific ways how to remember those who are in bond as if we are bonded with them.
You know, through prayers, through knowing their names, pray with specific names.
Because it's much easier to say a prayer, said, oh, Lord, pray for the persecuted church.
But know this Ashiya Baby, know this name Pastor Tsao Tan Chang, you know, in Beijing, in China, serving the prison term.
Know this, you know, Pastor Ali Mujiang Yimiti, who is a Muslim, convert to Christian, received 15 years sentence.
And know even a government-sanctioned church pastor who received 18-year sentence.
I mean, these are names, I think, are not kind of abstract.
So when we know them and learn about them, then we can participate like what Frank just mentioned.
Could I just ask Andrew Brunson?
Yes.
We'd love to have him on the show someday with you all, all come together.
Because it was faith without works.
Our president would not stop working on it, and so many others.
wasn't just the president he was a and the vice president but yeah But it was people praying and working.
And it's that power of prayer and faith.
But it was something else, Jim.
And this is where we think this coalition to save the persecuted Christians, of which Bob and Kevin and some others who will be with us shortly, are all about.
It is works, as you say.
What President Trump did in that case was he held the president of Turkey and his government accountable for what he was doing to Pastor Brunson.
And he created costs to the Turkish government of engaging in this kind of persecution.
And the point is, if we start holding persecutors accountable and we start making them realize that this is not something they can do with impunity, you may begin to see them calculating they will not continue to engage in this.
And this is the point.
There are many organizations, Bob Foos is one of them, that are doing incredibly important work, often very courageously, in some of the places where this persecution is taking place.
And a great number of them have come together as part of our coalition because they realize when you've got 215 million Christians being heavily persecuted or half a billion being more generally persecuted, something more has to be done than just sort of symptomatic treatment of the suffering, important as that is.
Proud Team Comes Together 00:00:23
And that's where this effort is, we're hoping, going to make a real difference.
And I couldn't be more proud of the team that's come together for this purpose of holding the persecutors accountable and creating costs.
