Source of Truth
00:02:26
|
|
| Why is the condition of the church so important today? | |
| Do you think? | |
| What do we have to do right now as the church? | |
| Is voting one of the things? | |
| What do we have to do as the church? | |
| Because we're headed for a cleft, and I don't want America to come over that cliff. | |
| We have 535 elected officials in Congress. | |
| We have 7,383 state legislators across the 50 states. | |
| Where should their source of truth be? | |
| It should be coming from the electorate who's informed on biblical truth, who understands scripture, who are informed by their pastors from the pulpits every Sunday, equipping them how to think biblically when they go into the voting booth. | |
| The reason we have a nation that is drowning in debt is because nobody understands that is a moral, biblical, ethical, theological issue. | |
| Thou shalt not steal from future generations. | |
| But we are trillions in debt, and it's continuing to increase. | |
| Otherwise, sane human beings leading our Congress are continuing to spend us into oblivion. | |
| That is a biblical issue. | |
| But when's the last time a pastor in America preached about the economic underpinnings of a nation in terms of health based upon scripture? | |
| It doesn't happen. | |
| So the debt continues to mount. | |
| And someday, the price of that will come back. | |
| Why? | |
| Because we violated a scriptural principle. | |
| The primary source of truth is always the scripture. | |
| The primary source of delivery is going to be the pulpit. | |
| The receptors are those who are sitting in the pews. | |
| They activate based upon the truth they have heard, and then they live out their lives in a consistent pattern, every aspect of their life according to scripture, including the voting booth. | |
| That means they put people in office who understand the scriptural principles for government and how a government is supposed to function so it has peace and tranquility. | |
| And so people go to Washington, our capitals, wherever, and they lead in a way that brings peace and tranquility and harmony to our communities. | |
| But that's being violated by the absence of discussion of topics. | |
| Remember we talked about on the previous show? | |

The Problem Lies With Pastors
00:00:28
|
|
| 90% of pastors agree the Bible speaks about the economic, the political, the social, the cultural issues of our day. | |
| But in that same barna survey, when asked, will you preach or have you preached on that? | |
| 90% of them said no, they would not. | |
| And therein lies the problem. | |
| The problem is not the liberals, it's not the progressives, it's not the wicked judges, it's not bad congressmen. | |
| The blood is on the hand of the pastors of 384,000 churches in America. | |
