Rock of Refuge

| You really believe a lot like I do. | |
| You really believe that we're in the last days, that we're in the end times. | |
| Is that right? | |
| Yes, absolutely. | |
| I do. | |
| Your great-grandfather, Charlie Robinson? | |
| Yes. | |
| Was who? | |
| He was one of the 13 men that signed the original charter that created the denomination, the Assemblies of God. | |
| You're kidding? | |
| No, he was a wonderful man. | |
| He was a circuit riding preacher in Hot Springs, Arkansas. | |
| He was there at that iconic picture in Hot Springs. | |
| My grandfather was a baby who was holding in his hands in that photograph. | |
| And even before that, 10 generations ago, John Robinson, the pilgrim's father, is my great-great-great-great ten generations ago. | |
| Wow, what an honor, huh? | |
| Yeah. | |
| To have you here with us today. | |
| Could we be in the beginning of sorrows, do you think? | |
| You know me. | |
| I've got to sneak a couple questions in about the last days. | |
| Well, I believe this. | |
| I believe the Lord showed me a three-legged stool. | |
| One is economic collapse coming in phases, but eventually worldwide. | |
| Second is geophysical events increasing in their intensity and frequency. | |
| And the third is man-made disasters, whether it's an ISIS crisis or an EMP or things like this. | |
| And in the midst of all of these things, there's also a convergence of a move of the Holy Spirit. | |
| And I remember when Moses was sent back up to the mountain after that terrible incident with the golden calf and Aaron, and we have Aarons and golden calves all over our churches today. | |
| But when he went back to the mountain, the Lord said, stand on this rock. | |
| And on this rock, there's a cleft. | |
| And Moses was asking God, he said, show me who you really are because I know that you can take us out. | |
| I watched all of those plagues with Pharaoh, that stubborn man, but I also know you're a deliverer. | |
| But now I don't know who you are. | |
| Show me who you are. | |
| And God says, come to the rock, hide in the cleft, and I'm going to cover your face with my hand, and I'm going to pass by you. | |
| And you're about to get a revelation of who I really am. | |
| And I believe that in that moment, Moses saw the incarnate, unmanifested Jesus, the Son of the living God, because it talked about his graciousness and long suffering and mercy and forgiveness. | |
| And Moses saw that. | |
| And that was the moment of repentance for Moses because he knew God. | |
| He had intimacy with God. | |
| God knew Moses' name. | |
| And yet he said, I don't know who you are. | |
| And when God reveals that to him, and so I go back to 1 Corinthians 10, 1, it says, for I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud. | |
| They were all passed through the sea. | |
| They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and the sea. | |
| They ate the same spiritual food and drink and the same drink. | |
| They drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them. | |
| And that rock was Christ. | |
| And Jim, there's a rock, there's a standing place, there's a cleft that we can hide in. | |
| And when we hide in the cleft of Jesus, when we let his righteousness cover us, when we go to that rock and we stand in that cleft, God says, I will cover your face. | |
| In Hebrew, it says, my protection will overcome, and you will not be harmed. | |
| And so when all of these things are coming, we have a place that we can go to. | |
| And that's in Christ, in Jesus. | |
| And when we're in him, we have no fear. | |
