Mass Confusion and Natural Events 00:08:03
You know, the Bible tells us before Jesus returns, the hearts will turn cold.
There'll be mass confusion and natural events happening all over.
But we know who wins the battle in the end.
Hello, I'm Ricky, and this is Revelation in the News.
Hello, and welcome to Revelation in the News.
I'm your host for today, Ricky Baker.
There is a 75,000 mile-wide hole on the sun right now.
Well, experts are warning us that this could knock out communications.
Now, how that happens is what it is, is a sunspot, and as it cools, you have like a magnetic field.
And what they're worried about is when the energy is released, it could cause a solar flare.
Now, what they would call that is a Carrington effect or a Carrington event.
Now, that also happened in the early 1900s where that solar radiation burst came across the Earth and burned up our communications.
And so that's what they're really worried about is that we could potentially experience blackouts and it could burn up the power grid.
Core, what are some other ways that this could affect Earth?
Well, according to this article here, solar flares can damage satellites and have enormous financial costs.
They are not necessarily affecting astronauts as much.
They do, but we do have to be concerned about cumulative exposure during spacewalks.
The charged particles can also threaten airlines by disturbing the Earth's magnetic field.
So that's scary if you're going to be on a plane when one of these things happens.
Well, in some aspects, it also acts like an EMP.
In a sense.
Yes.
It acts like an EMP in a sense.
So it shuts down some technologies.
And yeah, I wouldn't want to be on a plane if I was experiencing a sun.
Now, the thing when it comes to a country like America, we've never experienced not having the power in that aspect like an EMP would be.
So when it comes down to it, a huge blackout across America would send us into a frenzy.
And it wouldn't just be America.
It would include probably the whole world.
Yeah, especially if it's something as big as the sun.
But these are the types of things, and these are the types of events that we see are going to happen when the return of Jesus is coming soon.
There's other things happening, like we have CEOs of huge companies like Bill Gates warning us that deadly mosquitoes could wipe out, he said, around 10 million people.
That's right.
And they're saying with the growing population in these dense areas and the increasing ease of global travel, because as you get something and you go on an airplane, things could be passed around relatively quickly from one continent to the next.
And that's really what they're worried about.
And the most susceptible people are young children and the elderly.
Yeah.
You know, actually, Bill Gates does a lot of humanitarian stuff.
And so he has that research.
He knows about that kind of stuff.
And I think, you know, he sees that as a threat happening right now.
You know, Revelation 6, 8 says, so I looked and there was a pale horse and the name of him who sat was death.
And Hades followed him.
Power over a fourth of the earth was given to them to kill with the sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
We don't realize that that is diseases.
Those are the things, the pestilences that are going to harm us.
There's another scripture, Luke 21, 11, that says, and there will be great earthquakes in various places.
And we're already seeing that.
We've had a news article on the last Revelation in the news show saying there's some 800 plus earthquakes around Yellowstone alone.
And it says, and famines and pestilences, and there will be fearful sights and great signs from the heavens.
And that's Luke 21, 11.
And we are seeing those types of things already.
You know, there's one thing I do want to remind you guys of is in 1918, there was the flu pandemic, which killed 250,000 people in just Britain alone and 65 million people around the world.
Now, that's three times the amount of World War I that perished.
So this is definitely something to be concerned about.
And what the CDC is saying is that if there is a major outbreak, they're not going to be able to control the total outbreak of it.
Yeah.
I have a question.
If we have an pandemic or an epidemic like this start up, you know, do we bring other people in from different countries?
Is that whenever we can say this is lockdown of America?
Kind of like a martial law, but just for America.
You know, it could cause a martial law in several countries, you know, if basically they're going to seal off the areas that are being affected with those diseases and try to contain it to keep it from spreading.
So you might see travel, like people stop traveling to and from specific countries, whether it's South America or South Africa, you know.
Depending on how bad it could get, it could be even states closing down.
I mean, to a point, they almost, they were talking about that whenever Texas was having that perflu scares.
They're talking about closing off certain cities and areas for no one to come through.
But, you know, and to a point, you know, in some ways it's good, but some ways it's bad.
You know, absolutely.
What we've seen with events like this, there's just mass, massive panic.
And that's why it's so important to be prepared, to have a plan, to know that these things are happening and could reach us.
So we need to have a plan because we see even when a big storm comes, our grocery stores empty out.
I mean, they say there's only about two days of food in your grocery stores.
So it's important to have that plan and know what's going on.
You know, I do want to just go ahead and plug our mother show, the Jim Baker show.
This is why you need to have things like food to be prepared, water to be prepared, because if a pandemic or an epidemic happens like this, Cora said it perfectly, there's only about two days of food on the grocery, on the shelves in the grocery stores.
And you won't be able to just go out and have the luxury of buying the things you need at that moment like we do now.
So you'll need to have those things in your home prepared, ready to go.
So that way, if an event happens, you are prepared.
Well, you know, Ricky, there's so much going on in the news that we hear about on a daily basis.
You know, a lot of people are concerned about what's going on with Russia, what's going on with North Korea.
North Korea is constantly making threats to the United States about destruction and destroying us.
But don't forget about Mother Nature.
I mean, you can prepare for that big event.
You can prepare for that big day where potentially we could all be at war.
But what happens on a daily basis, we're hearing about massive fires out in California.
And, you know, if you live in those areas that are susceptible, whether it's Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Colorado, those are places that you ought to be concerned and be ready for disaster at a moment's notice.
You know, it could be just simple as somebody not putting out a campfire or throwing a cigarette out the window that, you know, what's going on is these winds and dry heat are causing these fires to just quickly expand at a moment's notice.
California has had to evacuate over 8,000 people.
So, and this isn't just happening here in the States.
You know, the Philippines and Malaysia, they're experiencing this.
So it's something to constantly have in the back of your mind, whether it's hurricanes, fires, or tornadoes.
And just as important as it is to be physically prepared, there's something that's a little bit more important than that, and that is being spiritually prepared.
Make sure you know where you're going to go in case of any event happening.
Make sure that you have made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, the king of your heart.
And I want to encourage you today that if you haven't done that, find a local church, a good Bible-believing church, and get plugged in with them and see what you can do for the kingdom of God.
Because I love that we do kind of serve in what they say, an upside-down kingdom, because we serve and we receive.
Free Speech Zone Controversy 00:09:13
We don't try to get, get, get.
We try to give.
And that's what we do as Christians.
So make sure that you're spiritually prepared.
You know, there is an event or a monument being risen up in Minneapolis.
Yeah, me and John were talking about that.
There's a satanic monument in a veterans area in a cube with a helmet on it.
Yeah, yeah.
And so the bottom, yeah, the bottom of it is, if you see it here on the screen, it has pentagrams on it with a helmet of a soldier on top of it.
Now, this happened all because of a free speech zone.
And what was, was they had a soldier praying at a cross, a silhouette, in the Veterans Park.
But because it was free speech, a satanic group also thought that they could get in on the action and put their own monument to the people.
I think you can objectively disagree with it, but it is a free speech zone.
I mean, they really rallied and kind of like really wanted to put their religious statue there and have their religious freedoms to have the cross there.
And it's, you know, I think we have to decide, do you want religious freedom or do you want more sanctioned kind of things?
Because like, you know, religious freedom is religious freedom.
And Christianity is not the only religion.
But it doesn't have any power in it.
I mean, like, if you put your faith in Jesus Christ, I mean, it doesn't have any, you know, there's no power in a box with a couple pentagrams on it.
My thing is, why do we see crosses being taken down all over America?
Why are they still trying to rip Christianity from our roots as Americans?
That's why I don't understand.
If we have such freedom of religion where we can put, you know, a cross and a pentagram box with a helmet on it in the free speech area, why is free speech being ripped away from us as Christians?
It seems like to me, like, it's all like pick and choose in certain places.
It's like, you know, you have an army base with an actual little church taking their cross down.
Why is that happening?
It's a church.
It should have a cross there.
And you know what?
There are churches actually taking the crosses off their buildings before anyone's even saying anything to them because they're scared of offending people.
If the cross offends you, then you need to have a rain check on what the Bible is all about because the cross is the only reason that you get the opportunity to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
And the Bible says that you will be hated for his name's sake.
I mean, Jesus was not the most liked person around, but he is our Lord and Savior.
And so that's kind of what we signed up for as Christians, is we're not necessarily going to be liked all the time.
That's right.
And the crazy thing is, as Christians, we're not going to be liked, just like you said.
And it comes down to even in this country, whether you're a Republican or a Democrat, it seems like we're just so divided in every aspect, not just religious freedom.
If you're a Republican, then you have to not like Democrats.
If you're a Democrat, then you have to not like Republicans.
It seems like we've lost the sense of what unity is here in America.
Well, you know, you're saying that.
It's like we try to put everything into a well-organized box where we have to understand it.
It's actually what we do to God also.
We try to put God into this box.
That's right.
And I think as humans, we do that to everything.
We put it in a box because it feels safe, organized.
We understand it in that box.
But the thing is, God's not in that box.
God tears that box apart.
That's right.
And also, I mean, I think as people, we needed to destroy these boxes that we're in.
And just because, you know, just because you're liberal, you're a Democrat, you're Republican, you need to get it outside your box and figure out who you are as a real person and a person in God also.
And remember that we are followers of Christ before we are Republicans, before we are Democrats, before we were conservatives or liberals.
We follow Jesus first.
And just like President Trump said in that speech not too long ago, we worship God, not the government.
That's right.
You know, we were having a conversation this morning back in the production room.
And what we were talking about, and we're about to get to here in just a minute before we end the show, but just how unified we need to be.
And Ricky had some really great points to discuss on that.
But what I wanted to bring up real quick is Real Clear Politics has just brought out an article, and it says that Trump and the West, Trump, the West and the left.
Basically what they're saying, the political left really, really does not approve of Western civilization.
And I think that's a little bit of what we were just talking about, his perspective.
Now, Trump had just had a rally in Poland where he gave a great speech.
Matter of fact, let me read that speech to you real quick.
He said, the fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive.
He followed it up with a rhetorical inquiry.
He said, do we have the confidence in the values to defend them at any cost?
Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders?
Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert it and destroy it?
Now, I believe to me that's really what we're talking about.
It is a change in culture, a change in moral value.
What does America really stand for?
What does it really believe in?
And Trump made some really good questions.
And the thing is that people got offended by that statement.
One statement says, you don't have to have a deep familiarity with the troops of white supremacy to see this for what it is.
And I don't know how you twist his words to see such a negative perspective.
I don't think that's what America stands for.
America does not stand for racism.
A matter of fact, we've put so much time and effort in trying to abolish and bring unity to America.
America is a melting pot of different cultures and different religions.
America stands for freedom in every sense of the word.
This is a place where you can become who you want to be.
And I don't think just simply stating and trying to paint Trump into a box is that's how you go about it.
Well, it makes me sad that kind of the race card was thrown on this.
I think there were some really good things said in this speech.
But one thing is, I think maybe if we're grasping straws here, trying to figure out why they're getting white supremacy out of this speech, I mean, I'm thinking maybe the West is typically associated with Caucasian skin.
Well, you know what?
I am not Caucasian, and I am born here in America, and I am very proud to be an American.
So it's sad that whenever they associate the West, they don't see us as a beautiful melting pot, which is what we are.
It is sad.
I mean, I'm pretty well versed in how white supremacy operates and the systems of oppression and everything.
But I mean, I read the entire speech, and I didn't get any of that out of it.
I read every word of that speech, and it feels like they're grasping here for like, I don't know what they're, I don't know how they got that out of it.
I think they're just trying to cause division.
I think what they're doing is they're trying to incite an argument.
They're trying to bring up old feelings of the past and make that like as it like right now out of that statement, which believe me, there's nothing in there that incites that.
Matter of fact, Trump went on to say and he praised Poland for defending it against the Nazis and defending against the Russians and not becoming a part of that society.
And I'm really proud of Trump for sticking up for himself there.
You know, with the race issue here in America, I will be the first person to say that what happened with slavery is one of the most horrific things that has ever happened here in America.
And there is reconciliation still to be done for that situation.
But for the race card to be played in every single situation, almost as a default, is just sad because what we're doing is we're making the situation that happened with slavery a little less of value.
And we kind of diminish it because we kind of use it as like a card.
Does that make sense?
You know, with that said, we also, Fox News is running a new article right now talking about Chris Rye, who he's Donald Trump's appointee to take the position of the FBI director.
And he's been going through, I would say it really looks like an interrogation, but it's an interview for the job.
And I really loved what he had to say.
He says, I believe to my core value that there's only one right way to do this job.
And that is with strict independence, buy the book, playing it straight, faithful to the Constitution.
I believe that right there is what America is needing in one of the highest offices right now.
Well, that's so refreshing to hear someone in politics that's saying that my loyalty is to the truth.
God's Redemptive Message 00:11:11
And that is refreshing as a journalist.
Your loyalty, I mean, as the FBI director, and really as a journalist, too, your loyalty is not to a person.
It's to the truth because that's what people deserve.
And as an FBI director, they are investigating situations.
They need to know the truth.
Absolutely.
I'm glad that we have an FBI, a potential FBI director that wants to do that.
We need some more CNN hosts that want to do that also, I think.
Right now, he's being interviewed to take the position of the previous director of the FBI, which was James Comey.
And James Comey, right now, they've looked into his memos and they found out that his memos have a lot of errors and loopholes in it.
So where they're going with that is they're looking at him as basically he leaked out his information on purpose and they sent it to the media.
The media then put it out on the news for mainstream people to know.
But what they came up with is that was illegal because all the notes that he took was with the president and it was based upon his job.
And all of those things were memos that were supposed to be kept secret.
Well, another thing that's been happening is we've just, we've been talking about this on the show for a while now, but there is actually an active campaign to stop President Trump from being able to hire his own cabinet of people.
I think he's only been able to hire around 40 people so far.
But there's an article this week from the Wall Street Journal called Running the Schumer Blockade.
Yeah, and a matter of fact, on June 28th, Mr. Trump had nominated 178 employees, or excuse me, appointees, but the Senate had confirmed only 46.
Now, why is that?
A lot of people are putting, you know, like he's not getting the job done and he's, you know, loafing around, I guess.
But check this out.
So the Democratic obstruction against nominees is nearly total, most notably including a demand for cloture filing for every nominee, no matter how minor the position.
This means a two-day waiting period and then another 30 hours of debate.
And we all know what happens when they debate is they try to filibuster.
So what they're saying is the 30-hour rule means Mr. Trump may not be able to fill his 400 positions by the end of his four-year term.
Well, you know what that is?
It is an active campaign to stop the transition of power.
And people are looking at our president.
And honestly, sometimes I've wondered, yes, he has a past.
He says some things that might be offensive.
But why do people hate our President Trump so much?
It is because we have men and women that love God praying for him in the White House.
This is not just a battle of words anymore, but this is truly spiritual warfare.
Now, I love the fact that we have a president that is so willing to have people who are God-fearing in his oval office, not just in an outer room in the White House, but in the actual oval office, laying hands on him and praying for him.
I love that his five favorite words to hear are, I am praying for you.
It's encouraging to have a president that though he may not be perfect, and if you're looking for a perfect president, you're going to have to find another country to live in, and you probably still won't find a perfect president there because we're not going to have one.
We're all humans, we all fall short.
But it's not about being perfect, it's about fighting for this country and fighting for us as Americans.
And that's exactly what he's doing.
That's right.
Well, this article that was posted, the headline is praying for the president.
Evangelical pastor shares image of prayer circle laying their hands on Donald Trump's back in the Oval Office.
And let me tell you, this is such a powerful picture.
This is such an encouragement to everyone here at Morningside this week just to see this.
This is awesome.
But at the end of this article, they included a pastor named Kenneth Averall who says that he does not agree with what's going on with President Trump with the evangelicals.
This is a quote from him.
He says, President Trump doesn't have a Christian bone in his body, doesn't attend church, multiple divorces, adultery, literally every single commandment he's broken.
And, you know, as a Christian, that breaks my heart to hear that.
We are all broken.
We are all sinners.
And how dare any of us, you know, say that someone can't be used by God because of something that's been done?
I mean, I think the perfect example that I found in Acts 8 was Saul, who, you know, we know as Paul.
I mean, he was killing Christians, but God used him.
And he ended up writing most of the New Testament.
And I love that actually in Acts chapter 9, you see his conversion.
And he is, you know, you said he is persecuting Christians at this time.
It says at the time that he was converted, he was actually on his way, still breathing murderous breaths against Christians.
That means he still had, you know, in his very being that he was going to kill Christians and persecute the Christians, but God had an intervention with him.
So who are we to say that God can't have an intervention with who we would say is the worst of the worst?
Well, hey, you know what the thing is?
If we're Christians, if you're other Christians out there and you don't, you know, you're not, I mean, you're not for Trump, understand that that picture shows you that people are praying for Trump.
God is going to work it out for the best.
God is in that room with him because he's working through him.
And I really think it's happening because the thing is, if you see, if you believe in prayer, understand that prayer is going to be powerful and it's going to change whatever you think should happen and God's in control.
You know what?
We actually have a powerful B-roll that we're going to play for you right now with one of our special guests this last week.
Her name is Donna Howell.
Why do you think they call it the book of Jonah instead of the book of Nineveh?
One of the greatest lessons we can learn from Jonah is not just about what happens when you run from God.
It's not just about what can happen when you follow what the Lord told you to do and a whole city gets saved.
Those are wonderful lessons too, but pay attention to the very end of the book.
But God said to Jonah, Do you think it's right for you to be angry about this plant?
You know, the one he's whining about because a worm ate.
Jonah answered, It is right for me to be angry.
I am so angry I could die.
And the Lord said, You are so concerned for that plant, even though you did nothing to make it grow.
It appeared one day and the next day it died.
Then, shouldn't I show concern for the great city of Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who do not know right from wrong and too many animals too?
The end.
That's the end of the book.
Personally, I think it's quite divine that it ends with that.
Because in my opinion, one of the greatest things that came from the book of Jonah is for the Lord to say, you don't get to pick who I decide is redeemable.
I do.
You don't get to look at today's Ninevites and say, this person may not be redeemable in the eyes of God because, in my opinion, they're not wearing the right clothing or their tattoo doesn't add up or their hair color is off.
You don't get to pick the Ninevites.
You don't get to pick the shade trees if you continue to sit there on a lump and say, oh, God, I'm just bummed out because I'm sunburned.
He's just going to continue to tell you over and over again, this is my city.
This is my town.
I grew these people.
I breathed life into them.
I formed these people in their mother's wombs before they were ever conceived.
And you don't get to choose whether or not these people can be saved.
Wow, that was good.
I love that.
You don't get to choose the Ninevites.
I love the fact that she said that.
Donald Trump may not have been your first choice for president.
He may not have been your choice at all for prayer.
He might not have even made the list.
But you don't get to choose who God appoints.
I love in Romans where it says that there is no leader put up except through God.
I think we also have to look at the fact that who are the modern-day Ninevites?
It could be these people that kind of the church kind of shies away from, like the gay community or the radical Muslim community.
When we're called to love these people, we're not saying that you shouldn't be well-informed about Sharia law and you shouldn't be well informed about the issues of the radical Muslim community.
But if that information causes you to shy away from people that you see in passing, Muslim people, if that information causes you to clutch your purse when you see somebody that is different from you, we're called to love those people.
And there's a man named Brian Head Welch who does a beautiful job at loving the people who we would look at as unlovable.
And he is not definitely the first pick that you would assume is out there winning souls for the kingdom.
Play that B-roll.
Well, you told me a story a couple days ago, and he said he went out and he was watching Band Chevelle and a huge crowd out there and head was looking at it and they're all like, double horns and all that.
And he's like looking at it and he said he got emotional and like started crying because God touched his heart and said, those are my people.
And I was like, wow.
I was like, all those people out there getting like emotional.
And it touched me because we do corn concerts in the crowd and everybody's like, it's like, God's going, those are my people.
I was like, wow, they're all, we're all his people.
We got to go touch them.
And how can we do it if we leave?
I think that clip is so powerful because it shows you that you don't have to look a certain way.
You don't have to dress a certain way or even act a certain way to have a voice in the Christian community.
I think that God sets people in place.
He gives them experiences in a past because he's able to reach people that I couldn't reach or that somebody in a different circumstance or that looks a little different can't reach.
He can reach that community.
Absolutely.
Now, this is our time as Christians to stand up and say, we need to get a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
We need to come into that intimacy with him so that we know who we are to reach so that we are able to love the unlovable.
I love what S says.
That doesn't mean that we're ignorant and that we don't know the facts and we don't know what's happening with radical Islam or what's happening with the gay community or what's happening with whites, blacks, Mexicans, any race, color, sexual orientation.
But that means that we know that we are so in tune with God that when we come into contact and communication with them, we'll have just the right words to say to win them back to the true lover, which is God in Jesus Christ.
We need to stand up as a church and fight for unity.
That may sound like a contrast, fight for unity, but we need to come back to the place where we love as a brotherhood.
You know, Ricky, Pastor Jim quotes us quite often that in the end, that hearts will grow cold, they'll be waxed, and you won't feel the love for one another.
But we need to make sure that we are not a part of that, that we are the ones doing the loving, that we are trying to bring people closer to the Lord and not pushing them further away.
Exactly.
It's time for us as the church to start loving like Christ loves his bride.
