Prayer's Power
00:03:30
|
|
| But really, God wants to fill our heart with his word. | |
| And that's what it says. | |
| It says, This is the confidence that we have in him. | |
| If we ask him anything according to his will, we know that he hears us. | |
| If we know that he hears us, we're totally confident we're going to get what we're asking him. | |
| 1 John 5:14. | |
| That confidence that we're going to get. | |
| Listen, if you don't believe you're going to get an answer, they lock people up for talking to somebody they can't see. | |
| You know what I mean? | |
| He that comes to God must believe that God is, and he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. | |
| So God wants to answer your prayers and show you that he is who he says he is. | |
| I'm telling you, prayer is the most powerful force we have on this earth. | |
| Like I told you, this past day of atonement, I was caught up in the courts of heaven, and one of the things I saw there, the Lord said, Watch this. | |
| And he did like that. | |
| And I saw a little frail woman on her knees praying on earth. | |
| And the Lord said to me, Bobby, that little woman on her knees has more power than all the combined armies of the earth put together. | |
| One little frail woman calling out to Almighty God in prayer. | |
| God says she has more power than all the combined armies of the earth. | |
| Wow. | |
| Wow. | |
| Listen, while we're talking about prayer, the Lord appeared to me and he said, with a sad countenance, and he said, Bobby, my people don't like to talk to me. | |
| The least attended service in any church is prayer meeting. | |
| But he said, Bobby, I'm going to give you a phrase, a sentence that will restructure people's idea of prayer. | |
| I said, Oh, God, I want it. | |
| I want a phrase that's going to restructure God's people's precept of prayer. | |
| And here's what he said: he said, This statement will turn prayer from a drudgery to delight, from a duty to a desire. | |
| I said, I want it, give it to me. | |
| And here, here's it: He said, You tell my people what true prayer is. | |
| True prayer is an audience with the king. | |
| That's what true prayer is. | |
| You and I have been invited by the creator of the whole earth to come dialogue with him. | |
| No potentate, no priest, no one on earth has ever offered that. | |
| Now, here we can come anytime, day or night, any of us, and lay our heart bare before God. | |
| It is amazing, isn't it? | |
| Anytime, day or night, he's a very present help, and we can approach his throne. | |
| Zechariah 3:7 says, If we honor the things of God, serve God, we have open access to his presence. | |
| I looked it up, it means unfettered. | |
| We can come boldly, boldly into the throne of God. | |
| Wow. | |
| I'll tell you, that's an invitation none of us can afford to turn down. | |
| That's right. | |
| I'll tell you what, I think we're going to have to do, and I'm going to prophesy to you. | |
| I think it won't be long till we'll have to have civil disobedience to obey God. | |
| Civil disobedience to obey God. | |
| Remember in Acts chapter 4, Peter and those guys have been preaching about Jesus Christ and great upstore uproar happened, and they caught them, threatened them, beat them, and said, Don't you ever go and preach and teach again in that name. | |
| And then it says, When they left, they got into a big prayer meeting and said, Oh, God, give us more power, more boldness to boldly speak forth your name. | |
| So, civil disobedience, when it comes to obeying God, is correct. | |
| If they tell you you can't pray in Jesus' name, pray in Jesus' name. | |
| You have the right. | |
| We've got to obey God rather than man. | |
| That's what it said. | |
| Read Acts 4 again. | |
| That's New Testament Christianity. | |
