Coconut Oil's Metabolic Boost 00:02:08
I've got to ask two more questions before the doctor gets on his airplane and goes home.
I have a couple questions too.
Yeah, you ask one.
Well, I have a note here.
It says that coconut, it says coconut weight loss.
That was my next question.
Yeah, tell us about that, doctor.
I'll tell you, after getting through the winter months now, I don't know about you all, but you really do gain a few pounds during the winter months.
And so tell us about that.
So you can use coconut oil as an aid to help you in your weight loss.
Coconut oil has some advantage for this.
One of them is that when you add coconut oil into your food, it has the ability to help satisfy hunger.
So you don't eat as much.
And so you'll be more satisfied for a longer amount of time so that you don't have the tendency to want to snack between meals.
And so that you're not so starved by the time the next meal comes along that you overeat at the next meal.
This has been documented with scientific studies showing that it helps satisfy hunger and cuts down on total calorie consumption.
Another thing is that coconut oil, because of the medium-chain fatty acids and coconut oil, they're actually processed differently in the body.
And so instead of contributing to body fat, the medium-chain fatty acids are actually used to produce energy.
And so you get a boost of energy.
One of the advantages of this is when you have all this energy, you have a tendency to want to use it.
And so you start cleaning the house, going for a jog, doing things.
You become physically more active.
And so you're burning off more calories than you normally would.
And because of this boost of energy, it has another incredible effect, is it also pushes your metabolism up into a higher gear.
So you burn off calories at an accelerated rate.
Studies have shown that after a single meal containing coconut oil, that your metabolism increases, and it remains elevated for a full 24 hours.
So for 24 hours, you're burning off calories at an accelerated rate.
