I Saw a Mighty Messenger

| But I saw another or different angel and this word is where I think we start right off the beginning of finding a wrong meaning. | |
| So if you ask 99 and 0.99 people and they'd all say, this is an angel. | |
| Well, The Bible tells us as we go into the depth of the meaning of the word right here that this word also means messenger. | |
| And it's mighty messenger. | |
| So what is John seeing? | |
| He sees a mighty messenger. | |
| Also in the Greek, it means pastor. | |
| That's right. | |
| And we looked up even the Young's literal translation here, and it says, I saw another strong messenger. | |
| And you see, it's just so interesting that some of these words that are mistranslated and the words aren't even there, many of us actually base our theology around these mistranslated portions of scripture. | |
| And if we'd simply just see what they mean in the original context, like if it actually said mighty messenger, there'd be so many more people that would look into the scripture to try to find out, well, who is this mighty messenger? | |
| But you know, the very word, this very Greek word, Lori, this Greek word is actually used other places in the Bible to describe John or Paul. | |
| Isn't that right? | |
| Yes, that's exactly right. | |
| Paul wasn't an angel, was he? | |
| No. | |
| What was Paul? | |
| A messenger of God. | |
| That's right. | |
| Or a pastor. | |
| So all that John is writing down is here. | |
| He says, I saw a mighty, forcible, powerful messenger come down from heaven. | |
| Wow. | |
| And so you see something coming down, so the writing is there. | |
| So the translators say, well, he came down from heaven, so he's probably an angel. | |
| Well, this is not an angel. | |
| You're going to find out who this is if you'll mark things and listen to me. | |
| So I saw another mighty angel or messenger come down from heaven, the sky above, where God is, clothed all around with a cloud. | |

| Okay, there's a mystery right there. | |
| There's a clue. | |
| There's a clue. | |
| Yes. | |
| With a cloud. | |
| And a rainbow was upon his head. | |
| There's the second clue. | |
| And his face was as if it were the sun. | |
| And his feet as pillar of fire. | |
| Okay. | |
| The first clue, what is the first clue? | |
| A cloud. | |
| Is that right? | |
| That's right. | |
| Yes. | |
| So he's coming in a cloud. | |
| He sees this mighty messenger coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. | |
| Now listen to me. | |
| Chapter 11, 10 and 11, I don't think should be separated. | |
| By the way, chapters were not put in by God. | |
| Chapters were not put in by John. | |
| Chapters were put by translators. | |
| Did you knew that? | |
| That's right. | |
| Yes, for example, like in the Old Testament, whenever they would have a reading, they wouldn't say, turn to Isaiah 64, verse 4. | |
| They'd say, no, today we're reading from the scroll of Isaiah, and then it'd actually say a portion of Scripture. | |
| And because they all had memorized the scripture, they would go to that portion of Scripture. | |
| But yes, you're exactly right, Pastor. | |
| In the New Testament, there was no such thing as chapter titles and verse numbers. | |
| And so if you read it consecutively as one book, you can't separate Revelation 10 and 11. | |
| They go hand in hand. | |
| Okay, now here's the thing. | |
| This is why it's important. | |
| We're in the last days. | |
| Right. | |
| I believe God has warned us. | |
| I believe even that little calf God sent is a warning to the last days. | |
| Yes. | |
| I want to tell you something. | |
| If I'm right about what I believe, we're going to go through some things before the rapture takes place. | |
| Do you hear me? | |
| Now, I'm not trying to get you into tribulation. | |
| I'd love to get you out of tribulation. | |
| But if God says we're going through some of it, we better listen. | |
| And I'm going to give you all the facts and we'll see where the rapture is. | |
| And then we'll find out what takes place before that event. | |
| And then we're going to know where we are. | |
| Okay? | |
| All right. | |
| The first clue is the cloud. | |
| This person, this great leader, this strong messenger, comes in a cloud. | |
| That's unusual. | |
| There's not very many people in the Bible that were clothed with clouds. | |
| Exodus 13:21. | |
| What does it say? | |
| And the Lord, who? | |
| The Lord. | |
| And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud to lead them the way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light to go by day and night. | |
| I have believed my whole life almost, but all my student life, that the pillar was Jesus. | |
| Jesus was leading the children of Israel through the league. | |
| So what does it say? | |
| And the Lord went before them in the pillar. | |
| The Lord, Jesus Christ, went with them. | |
| So that's all the way back in the first part of the Bible. | |
| Exodus 13:21. | |

| All right, now go to Exodus 19, verse 9. | |
| And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud. | |
| Who's coming? | |
| The Lord is coming. | |
| The Lord. | |
| Talk back to me. | |
| The Lord is coming in a thick cloud. | |
| The Lord, he says. | |
| Okay, mark these down, people. | |
| Count them up and find out, God doesn't lie, okay? | |
| The Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud that the people may hear when I speak with thee and believe thee forever. | |
| And Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord. | |
| All right, let's go on. | |
| We've got several of these we want to do. | |
| Exodus 40, verse 38. | |
| For the cloud of the Lord, do you see that on the screen? | |
| For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and the fire was on it by night, and in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys. | |
| The cloud of who? | |
| The Lord. | |
| The Lord was upon the tabernacle. | |
| Okay, let's go to Leviticus. | |
| Leviticus chapter 16, verse 2. | |
| And the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that they come not at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark, that he die not. | |
| For I will appear. | |
| Who is going to appear? | |
| The Lord. | |
| The Lord. | |
| I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. | |
| There we go. | |
| I could just preach on all of them. | |
| I'm not going to. | |
| We're going to go on. | |
| Numbers 11:25. | |

| And the Lord came down in a cloud and spake unto them and took of the Spirit that was upon him and gave it unto the 70 elders. | |
| And it came to pass that when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and did not cease. | |
