Love Is Strong Message
00:02:23
|
|
| Hi everyone, welcome to the Backstage Show with Ricky and Marie. | |
| Today we have the incredibly talented Jason Crabb with us. | |
| Hey! | |
| How are you doing today? | |
| Man, I'm having a blast. | |
| Now Jason, if you guys don't know, he has received the Grammy for Christian Music Artists and the 2012 Male Vocalist of the Year. | |
| Yes. | |
| Correct. | |
| That's crazy. | |
| Now you have a new CD out. | |
| We have a brand new CD out. | |
| It's called Love is Strong. | |
| And Jason, what was your message behind the CD? | |
| Well, you know, we want to, it took us two years to put this together. | |
| Wow. | |
| And we had three different producers on this record picking songs, going through songs, looking for the right thing. | |
| We've actually listened to the CD multiple times. | |
| And one thing I was going to say to the audience and to you, for thank you for the CD is for all ages, we noticed. | |
| There's more, like, I don't know if you want to hear more contemporary. | |
| Yeah. | |
| But that's me and Ricky. | |
| We're enjoying it. | |
| We were listening multiple times. | |
| We loved it. | |
| Thank you. | |
| Say it one more time. | |
| The CD is for all ages. | |
| Everyone. | |
| That's so true. | |
| Mission accomplished. | |
| How was that switch from like southern gospel to contemporary? | |
| It's a big switch. | |
| And to make it all blend on one record to not look like a monster or sound like a monster because, you know, it's like, anyway. | |
| Now, there's another little secret I think I'm hearing. | |
| Is it true that you're going to be in a movie? | |
| Oh, wow. | |
| Is that true? | |
| Yeah, we did a movie called Inspiration Pop, which is really cool. | |
| You know, it's about keeping your faith and having faith in what you believe in. | |
| And, you know, I've always wanted to do that. | |
| And so there was an independent film that was going to be filmed. | |
| It's faith-based. | |
| Faith-based. | |
| And that's coming out this year. | |
| It's fun. | |
| Is there anything that you tell a young artist trying to make it big in the music industry? | |
| Like a key point that you tell him how to stay strong? | |
| Yeah, you know, the thing is, is if I think in the beginning stages of searching your destiny out, your career or whatever, you never know where God's going to lead you. | |

Singing 300 Homes
00:00:57
|
|
| But here's the key. | |
| You have to sing every place, you know, I mean, I'm talking about that will allow you to come and sing. | |
| Sometimes you have to knock on doors and say, hey, you know, I want to go and I want to sing you my songs. | |
| What do you think? | |
| So, you know, we started in nursing homes, funeral homes, mobile homes, every kind of home that you can imagine, you know. | |
| That's awesome. | |
| And so that's just where you keep doing it. | |
| You keep singing, you sing, you sing. | |
| We sang 300 dates. | |
| I guarantee you 300 dates the first year. | |
| And I'm not exaggerating. | |
| Maybe even more than that because it was sometimes we sang in three places one time in one day. | |
| Three places. | |
| We just sang, sang, sang, and sang. | |
| So just don't get discouraged. | |
| Well, thank you so much for doing this interview with us today. | |
| Thank you. | |
| Y'all are awesome. | |
