Jim Bakker Show - Backstage Show with Jason Crabb Aired: 2013-04-03 Duration: 03:13 === Love Is Strong Message (02:23) === [00:00:07] Hi everyone, welcome to the Backstage Show with Ricky and Marie. [00:00:11] Today we have the incredibly talented Jason Crabb with us. [00:00:15] Hey! [00:00:15] How are you doing today? [00:00:16] Man, I'm having a blast. [00:00:17] Now Jason, if you guys don't know, he has received the Grammy for Christian Music Artists and the 2012 Male Vocalist of the Year. [00:00:26] Yes. [00:00:27] Correct. [00:00:27] That's crazy. [00:00:28] Now you have a new CD out. [00:00:29] We have a brand new CD out. [00:00:31] It's called Love is Strong. [00:00:33] And Jason, what was your message behind the CD? [00:00:37] Well, you know, we want to, it took us two years to put this together. [00:00:43] Wow. [00:00:44] And we had three different producers on this record picking songs, going through songs, looking for the right thing. [00:00:52] We've actually listened to the CD multiple times. [00:00:54] And one thing I was going to say to the audience and to you, for thank you for the CD is for all ages, we noticed. [00:01:00] There's more, like, I don't know if you want to hear more contemporary. [00:01:03] Yeah. [00:01:03] But that's me and Ricky. [00:01:05] We're enjoying it. [00:01:05] We were listening multiple times. [00:01:07] We loved it. [00:01:08] Thank you. [00:01:09] Say it one more time. [00:01:10] The CD is for all ages. [00:01:13] Everyone. [00:01:13] That's so true. [00:01:14] Mission accomplished. [00:01:16] How was that switch from like southern gospel to contemporary? [00:01:20] It's a big switch. [00:01:23] And to make it all blend on one record to not look like a monster or sound like a monster because, you know, it's like, anyway. [00:01:31] Now, there's another little secret I think I'm hearing. [00:01:34] Is it true that you're going to be in a movie? [00:01:36] Oh, wow. [00:01:37] Is that true? [00:01:38] Yeah, we did a movie called Inspiration Pop, which is really cool. [00:01:43] You know, it's about keeping your faith and having faith in what you believe in. [00:01:48] And, you know, I've always wanted to do that. [00:01:52] And so there was an independent film that was going to be filmed. [00:01:56] It's faith-based. [00:01:57] Faith-based. [00:01:58] And that's coming out this year. [00:02:00] It's fun. [00:02:00] Is there anything that you tell a young artist trying to make it big in the music industry? [00:02:04] Like a key point that you tell him how to stay strong? [00:02:08] Yeah, you know, the thing is, is if I think in the beginning stages of searching your destiny out, your career or whatever, you never know where God's going to lead you. === Singing 300 Homes (00:57) === [00:02:20] But here's the key. [00:02:23] You have to sing every place, you know, I mean, I'm talking about that will allow you to come and sing. [00:02:30] Sometimes you have to knock on doors and say, hey, you know, I want to go and I want to sing you my songs. [00:02:37] What do you think? [00:02:39] So, you know, we started in nursing homes, funeral homes, mobile homes, every kind of home that you can imagine, you know. [00:02:48] That's awesome. [00:02:49] And so that's just where you keep doing it. [00:02:51] You keep singing, you sing, you sing. [00:02:53] We sang 300 dates. [00:02:55] I guarantee you 300 dates the first year. [00:02:58] And I'm not exaggerating. [00:02:59] Maybe even more than that because it was sometimes we sang in three places one time in one day. [00:03:04] Three places. [00:03:06] We just sang, sang, sang, and sang. [00:03:07] So just don't get discouraged. [00:03:09] Well, thank you so much for doing this interview with us today. [00:03:12] Thank you. [00:03:12] Y'all are awesome.
