Wingstop Manager Throws Hot Boiling Grease on Customer then this Happens!

Carnell Irene, a 20-year-old Wingstop manager in Port St. Lucie, Florida, faces felony charges for aggravated child abuse and battery after allegedly assaulting two customers with ranch dressing and boiling grease following a straw container incident. While police treated the scene as active and her boyfriend sustained leg burns, Irene was booked into jail, sparking broader discussions on racial demographics within the restaurant industry and insurance implications amidst similar violent outbursts at chains like Popeyes and Jack in the Box. Sister Fired for Hot Oil 00:12:35
Watch how this wing stop employee throw hot oil at a customer after losing her temper.
Hello.
Hi, Army.
So what all happened?
Um, well, we were here and the man, well, my sister ordered some boneless.
Okay.
Um, and I was assaulted by a manager.
I was, we're just ordering food, and it like kind of got like uh she signed like a little attitude.
I don't even know her name.
Um, and as she was talking, she's first she was putting her hands on our face, but she stayed behind the counter.
And then after, she took the wrench bottle and started shooting it at us.
Me and my sister.
And then she took just want to know, would this be your sister?
Yes.
She took the hot grease.
And that's all this is a girl on the shop.
She took the hot grease and a bucket of hot grease and just poured it.
Like, splashed it, like, poured it.
Like.
Where did they do that at?
Inside of the restaurant where they're not going to get up at.
What is the resolution that you're trying to seek today?
Well, I wanted to press charges on her because she assaulted ranch on me in hot grease.
The cop said, what's the resolution you looking for?
That is like the dumbest question I've ever heard a cop come up with during his investigation.
What do you expect?
Let me go talk to Paul.
You want an apology?
Hot bowling brick.
Give me one second, all right?
Where was the young lady that was involved?
Oh, she's probably going home.
She's probably in the back.
I need her back here.
She has a white car.
I'm going to get right.
I don't know if she's in the back office.
All right.
You're a fast, what happened?
Oil was spilled cleaned it up.
And then they didn't know her.
What do you mean by oil was spilled?
No, no, it was thrown.
Okay.
By the girl that was here that's now gone.
Okay.
And then her boyfriend got burned.
She fled the scene.
Whose boyfriend?
Her boyfriend.
Because it's still out.
She was trying to toss it.
Did you see any of this happen?
I saw.
I saw the oil thing.
What type did she use to throw the oil?
Not this specifically, but not the same thing.
Where's the other empty?
Where's the one that she actually used?
She used this one?
Yeah.
Where's the center?
I gotta access the manager.
That's evidence right there.
Exhibit me.
So here's the thing, guys.
I know you're technically still open for business.
I need you to not clean anything up, no sweeping, because this is an active crime scene.
I want you guys to keep doing your business.
But if the crime scene starts getting destroyed with you cleaning up, pots getting moved, I have to shut the store down, right?
So, you know, you're good.
You don't know any better.
So I just want to keep everything with integrity.
You know, I try to keep everything the same.
Just until my office over there can grab photos of everything and get out of your hair.
Everything that happens?
No.
I kind of know.
So basically, they were talking whatever because Pasco's out there.
She's working.
I guess those two, they got beef or whatever.
I don't know.
But they were talking and she decided to start throwing ranch at them.
Who threw ranch?
Our worker.
Your worker threw ranch at this.
Yeah.
Threw ranch at those two guys.
Okay.
You can see it on there.
And I was in the middle of it.
They got ranch on me.
Straws.
Then I guess you ended up grabbing one hand or one name.
Hold on.
Your worker.
So I want to say worker.
Customer.
Yeah.
Workers threw ranch at the customer.
What did the customer do after that?
The one that's in the black and yellow ended up pushing the um stars on the floor right there.
Push the straws on the floor.
Yeah, not at anybody, just push the straws on the floor.
I think he was aiming at her.
I don't know.
Ended up going before.
And then worker.
Yeah.
With oil or not.
What's wrong with these people?
He cannot tell a story.
That's like that's what a man.
You can't even talk.
Who's this dude?
Everything.
I try to push him outside the building.
This dude like he came out the back and just had sex with somebody.
Okay, he's wearing his pants.
Hey, before we finish this video, don't forget about our new giveaway.
Dogs challenge the Hellcat 10,000 cash.
To get in and win it, just go to Fitchel Horse Twins.
Anything you purchase on the site, get you automatically in it with you.
I hate to make this about race.
There's too much diversity in this store.
It's like...
Y'all need to hire some more white folks.
Hey, Kevin, would you could you imagine like an all-white restaurant?
White guy comes out like that.
Yeah.
A white employee throws hot grease on somebody.
You'll never see that, right?
Never.
You have a better chance at winning a lottery 10 straight times.
Yeah.
What is going on?
Employee or a customer.
I'll be back.
Do you have an idea on you?
Who got the grease going on?
Me and my sister.
Okay, so can you just explain what happened real quick?
I don't know.
She started yelling at my sister and stuff.
And I'm not saying anything.
I'm just going back and forth to my sister.
And then she had her hands on our faces.
I don't know.
Watch herself.
I don't know.
And then that's what she goes to throwing branch.
Saw me.
Yeah.
She just started kept throwing it.
And then she got a bucket of hot grease.
And she threw it and it splashed all over me and my sister.
That's messed up.
That can mess you up.
No, I know.
That's hitting that.
Copstar lanes, man.
That could mess you up.
It was burning, but I don't know.
Do you need an ambulance?
I don't know what I need.
Let me see your arm.
Okay, do you have an idea on it?
Yes, it's my person.
My sister has her curse.
Do you have any marks on you specifically from the grease?
I know you got it all over your feet and everything.
I just know that it just sprashed.
I don't really have like...
Was this originally on your shirt right here?
Is that from us?
Oh, no, that's from that.
This is what I haven't had nothing messed up.
Do me a favor, it's going to be real weird.
I got a photograph right here, right here, right here.
Okay.
It's me again.
So, real quick from the very beginning.
What in D-World is going on?
You got men walking around half naked, but the box is showing, and you got this fool in the bathroom sitting on the toilet.
You're showing up.
I have limited knowledge of what's going on.
To be able to explain to me what ensued.
Okay, so basically, I'm going to try to tell you everything I have.
So okay, so I'm trying to do my job.
I'm just trying to close so we could.
It's already, it's 11.20.
It was probably, I don't even know what time, 10 or something.
But around that time, we start taking some stuff to the back so we can start on the dishes.
Right.
Approximately around 12.30 to 12.40.50, probably one o'clock is offer trying to hit out the store.
Okay.
So she comes in and then she's just a whole bunch of other guys that are friends with my other co-workers.
And then she was just talking to them and then she was calling people broke and they were asking me if it was broke.
And then they were asking me if it was my other co-worker that was broke.
And she was like, oh no.
She pointed at me and my boyfriend.
She's like, she's broke and he's broke.
And I'm just like, I'm okay.
She doesn't know us, but you know, whatever.
And then I just went along with it.
I was just like, when she was starting to see the song, the spider was brokey by mulatto.
I was just like, brokey, and I was just dancing in trolling her because she's trolling me.
Like, okay, I don't know this girl.
So I'm gonna just go along with whatever she's doing.
And then, well, wait a minute, wait a minute.
So those customers came in, they complained that she threw hot grease on them.
But when they walked in, they started bulling her calling a broke, I guess.
Sub-Saharan.
So a customer comes in and her and her sister are just coming close and just getting loud.
And I'm just like, okay, well, are they like different side of the counter?
Yes, they're on this side of the counter, you don't want that side.
So they're coming up to the counter, just kind of.
Yes, coming up to the counter and just starting bullshit.
So I'm just like, and then the customer comes in a doordash customer.
I'm just like, okay, you guys can move.
Excuse me, dog.
And then they're just like, sorry, they're just like, oh, don't put your hand in my sister.
And she comes closer.
Don't put your hand in my sister's face.
Don't put your hand in my face.
And then I'm just like, well, there's a customer here.
Excuse me.
You can move now.
Like, I'm dumb.
Like, I don't leave me alone.
I'm trying to do my job.
Literally trying to do my job.
Right.
And then so finally I get to the customer and then I give him his order and I feel like they just go back at it.
And then she knocks over, she just keeps talking and then she knocks over a thing of straws.
And then while I'm still getting the stuff, mind you, the thing of straws are on my side of the counter.
So she reaches to my side and knocks it over all over the floor.
Damn near hits me because it's in the tin hand or whatever the cause.
So shit.
I'm gonna grab this.
Hey, Kevin.
You knock over some straws.
Oh, okay.
I'll fix you.
I'm gonna go get some hot boiling grease.
Oh, you knocked them straws over?
I'm gonna go get some hot grease.
I'm gonna go get some of this hot grease.
I've been cooking chicken all day.
But the girls, they call the cops complaining that she threw hot grease on.
They left out a whole lot of detail what led up to that.
Yeah, but it doesn't justify what she did with the hot grease, you psychopath.
I'm not saying that.
Because she came in here talking about how I'm ugly.
My hair's never done.
My nails are never done.
I'm wearing fake jewelry that's got a third.
Dropping it down to the floor in front of all these people, twerking, just doing random ass.
Like, can you go?
She's not supposed to be here.
Her sister used to work here, but her sister either fucked up, got fired, whatever.
Like, they just keep coming back.
Sub-Saharan activity, everybody.
Talk about how people are talking shit.
They got a sister used to work there.
Yeah, yeah.
They keep coming back, starting trouble with kids.
Okay, real quick.
The oil.
The oil?
Can you explain quite exactly how that happened?
How'd you grab it?
Okay, real quick.
Can you explain what you used to throw it at her?
Was it like the remnants of the oil left in like one of the fry baskets?
Was it a steel cup?
Was it like a sealed container?
Was it?
It's like.
I don't know how to describe it.
It's like a.
You know what it is.
Say it.
You think you could go to the back and, like, you could see like a little silky thingy?
Real quick, is it?
Is it a container?
It's kind of a container, I guess.
Yeah, I got it.
It's almost like a cup or like a pot.
Somebody got it.
Okay.
All righty.
Do you want to fill that out?
All right.
I'll be right back with you guys.
Somebody, can I talk to your mom?
Yeah, you can talk to my mom.
How are you doing?
This is Officer Thomas with PSLPD.
Hey, how you doing, sir?
I'm good.
So you're aware of the situation, right?
Somebody threw hot grease on your kids.
And you want them to prosecute, correct?
So what's going to happen is because I'm, as you know, I'm not allowing her to do anything because I'm not present.
Okay, do you want the person, the adult, the person above the age of 18 who threw boiling grease on your kids, do you want them to go to jail?
Well, firstly, my daughter, who is a small one, she's an adult.
So she can do whatever it is in the moment because she's an adult.
She's actually 20 years of age.
But it's who I instructed.
So when I'm home, we'll come down to the station.
We'll try to stay there.
Okay.
So do you want to prosecute?
That doesn't make any sense what she said.
Just say, yeah, I want them prosecuted.
They threw hot boiling grease on my kids.
On behalf of your daughter, then okay.
So, can she fill out a statement of what happened?
No, she can't, not without me.
Okay, but your other daughter can't because she's an adult.
Exactly.
Yes.
Okay.
All right, that's fine.
And you said you'll come down to the station with her?
Yeah, I'll come down.
We'll come down tomorrow.
Okay, perfect.
Thank you.
Awesome.
Thanks so much.
Can you fill one up then?
Yeah.
Can you wanna write out here?
So she was hiding in the bathroom.
And once we're done, we're just gonna have, we're gonna kick them out.
We get everybody out of here.
Things are in the bathroom.
I can get back to work.
What's that?
I can get back to work.
Viral Burns at St. Lucie 00:06:44
That's gonna be between you and the general manager.
Yeah, everything that happened.
Are your hands burning?
Do you need an ambulance?
They got burn gel.
You don't have to go with them, but they got burn gel, and that's gonna blister and it can get infected.
And you can get something to go.
You don't have to go, but I'm right.
And I'm dead ass.
A little burn that gets infected can kill you, right?
So they at least can put burn gel, make sure it's cleaned off.
You don't have to go with them, but they can at least clean it off so that way it doesn't get infected.
If I don't load him, I don't let it get him a hospital punch.
No, it's completely free.
Yeah, how old are you?
I'm 18.
18?
Okay, like that.
That's why he doesn't have a turn on.
Get infected, that can mess you up.
It got like all the ways, like this whole part.
Dude, it is like right all of my hands, like all right here.
I'm telling you, you need to get some type of burn gel.
You should probably go and get antibiotics.
Yeah.
Okay.
In reference to the other gentleman that's got burns all over him, he was on duty at the time that happened.
Yeah.
Is worker's comp going to help him with all that?
Right, right, yes.
Okay, can you explain that to him?
Yeah, I just told him.
He's worried about going and getting shooting.
I just told him, don't worry about that.
You tell me Work McComp.
It'll be taken care of.
You know what?
There's a news clip.
At a wing stop in Port St. Lucie, left two customers with burns on their skin and the restaurant manager behind bars.
This happened back in January, but now WPBF 25 News has obtained video from inside that restaurant.
Rachel Perry joins us from Port St. Lucie with the details.
It happened at this wing stop in Port St. Lucie where we're told it all started when some customers started making a scene and knocked over a container of straws.
That's when the restaurant manager reached her boiling point.
Seen in this white people got all the jokes.
That's when she reached her boiling point.
Video from the wing stop on Southwest Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
Carnell Irene, the manager, fighting with a customer at the carry-out line.
The whole thing caught on video and handed over to Port St. Lucie police.
Watch as the argument heats up.
Words are exchanged.
And another employee even tries holding Irene back.
Look, see, that's the ranch.
She's squirting ranch on them.
Right.
Irene is seen getting more and more upset before ranch dressing is thrown.
Straws are knocked over and tempers heat up.
No, it doesn't end there.
Tonight at 5:30, watch the moment the customers in that video were left with burns on their skin and the felony charges now filed against Irene.
But for now, in Port St. Lucie, Rachel Perry, WPBF 25 News.
Hey, I just talked to your general manager.
Because you were on duty when all this happened, you're gonna fall into workman's comp.
All your medical bills are gonna be paid for by Wing Stop, okay?
Including the ambulance drive, everything will be covered because you got hurt on duty for one of the employees.
But like, that that doesn't affect her in anybody, right?
No, no, it comes from the plank stop.
Thank you so much.
Billions of dollars, millions of dollars, all right?
I don't want you getting hurt or getting more messed up.
They're here.
Holy shit.
You have no weapons or anything on you?
All right, do you mind if we just patch you down before we leave?
Just turn around.
We're gonna patch you down real quick.
Sweet.
Do me a favor.
Put your right here.
Put your hands behind your back.
You are being placed under arrest, all right?
Yeah, we'll just put it to call.
For a phone in there, what's your ID number?
1278?
Yeah.
9:32 PSL.
1278's gonna have one adult female, 10-15.
You're gonna just go with them and search for it.
Let me see if I can find the other video.
35:30 new video from a wing stop restaurant in Port St. Lucie, which shows the mobile employee threw hot grease from the kitchen at customers.
We've been following the story since it first happened.
Thanks for staying with us.
I'm Todd McDermott.
And I'm Tiffany Kenny, Treasure Coast Bureau reporter Rachel Perry just got the video and has more on how this all unfolded.
As you'll see here in a second, the incident was caught on video and we're told the employee seen in that footage was actually the restaurant manager at the time, but she's now the restaurant manager data charged with two felonies.
Seen here, Carnell Irene, the then manager at the wing stop on southwest Port St. Lucie Boulevard.
Video from January 28th shows Irene and a customer having what appears to be a heated conversation at the carry-out line.
Behind Irene, another employee who's seen trying to get her attention.
As the video plays on, the conversation heats up.
Irene holds her hand to her ear, moving closer and closer to the window.
Another customer steps kind of pull her back.
As an employee, starts pulling Irene back, trying to prevent the incident from growing, but their efforts don't work.
It escalates to the point where the manager takes a squirt bottle of ranch dressing, squirts it on our squirts it two victims.
But it doesn't end with ranch.
Irene disappears, returning with a metal container.
That's when police say Irene threw hot grease at the customers.
You see her toss it in the direction of the victims who are at that point off camera and you see it splatter on.
Oh, see, that's the employee.
That's I think that's why right there.
That's him right there.
Who is that?
That's the employee.
He's like, he's grabbing the side.
He's burning right there.
Who is this right here?
I thought you toss it in the direction of the victims who are at that point off camera and you see it splatter on.
Oh, that's him right there.
He already got burned.
He already got burned under the floor, and we do know it did hit them in the leg.
The victims, one, a minor, left with burns on their skin, and Irene booked in the St. Lucie County Jail.
That name says it all.
Insurance and Civil Rights Violations 00:02:16
What's the name?
Submade up.
Carniel.
You got, we got hundreds, thousands of names that's been been created, and they're great names.
Carniel.
I don't know.
He's telling us these types of calls aren't common for them, but people might be seeing them more.
You're just seeing more recorded instances of it, and that becomes viral.
So it then changes our perception that.
As for how it all started, well, Port St. Lucie police tell us the customers in the video were causing a scene and knocked over a container of straws.
Irene is now charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated battery.
In Port St. Lucie, Rachel Perry, WPBF 25 News.
Thanks to Rachel there.
We reached out to Wingstop's corporate office for comment.
We have not yet heard back.
Why they need to call you back?
This is embarrassing.
Hey, you know what?
Every time you see a fast food, we covered a story where this dude shot another employee because he kept burning the biscuits at Popeyes.
We covered another story.
A dude got shot through a drive-thru.
They all have the same thing in common, a certain demographic of people.
These insurance companies, they're going to start asking questions when you sign up for insurance.
How many black people do you employ?
They're going to start asking that question.
What's the race of your civil rights violations?
Civil rights violations?
You know what I think is a violation?
What?
You have to...
These insurance companies are losing money because all these subs are hands out here committing crimes.
I don't see anything wrong with that.
Yeah, it's not anything wrong with that.
What's the word I'm looking for?
We are a black people are a high risk.
Oh, that's the term for insurance.
Yeah.
High risk.
Very high risk.
We're throwing hot boiling grease on people, shooting people for burning biscuits.
And it's crazy.
I seen a girl in a drive-thru shoot somebody through the drive-thru.
Exactly.
Devil said Jack in the Box, right?
Jack in the Box is another at a Popeyes.
Yeah.
With high risk.
