When Joe Biden, our elected president, entered the room, when he approached me, his words to me were, my wife Jill and I know how you feel.
We lost our son as well and brought him home in a fog-draped coffin.
My heart started beating faster and I started shaking knowing that their son died from cancer and they were able to be by his side.
Also wondering how someone could honestly Sorry.
Be so heartless to say he knew how I felt a little over 24 hours and learning of my son's death.
General Rex at yesterday's hearing in California in preparation for the second anniversary of the 13 killed during Biden's surrender of Afghanistan.
His son Dylan was brought home in a casket draped in our flag.
Because he died for our nation, protecting others, blown up by an ISIS suicide bomber.
It was a powerful day.
We will be sharing more clips with you.
For example, this father, Darren Hoover, who names names About responsibility and culpability for the men and women who died that day wearing the uniform of the United States.
Cut seven.
I'm calling out Secretary Blinken, Secretary Austin, General Milley, General McKenzie, Lieutenant Colonel Whited, who could not give the order to the snipers to take out the bomber Before he detonated his vest and ultimately the president.
Do what our son did.
Be a grown-ass man.
Admit your mistakes.
Learn from them so that this doesn't happen ever, ever again.
You all need to resign immediately.
Be a grown-ass man and resign now.
Take responsibility for what you did because it was your decision.
Let's be clear.
We weren't going to run out of Afghanistan.
President Trump had made a decision to maintain 2,500 special operators on the ground who could be used to target high-value targets, members of al-Qaeda, the Taliban or ISIS, whenever needed, whenever they were a threat to our national security.
Instead of maintaining that footprint, which by the way had kept us safe for more than 18 months at the end of the Trump administration, not one American had been killed in Afghanistan and the nation was stable.
Instead of that stability, instead of that loss of life, We surrendered.
We ran.
Not only did we sacrifice the only strategic airport or airfield in our control in Central Asia, one that is crucial to our needing to deploy anywhere in that troubled part of the world if there is an emergency.
Instead of evacuating civilians first, and our allies, and then the military last, We evacuated the military first, and we didn't do it from Bagram, a massive airfield that we can secure that was in the middle of nowhere.
Individuals like Mark Milley and Lloyd Austin told the President it would be fine to evacuate from the Kabul International Airport in the midst of the capital, an airport that could not reasonably be secured and which would see an attack as it did by an ISIS suicide bomber who killed 13 Marines A Green Beret and a Navy corpsman.
No, Obama, it's not corpsmen, you cretin.
It's corpsmen, the medics for the Navy and the Marines.
Not only that, according to the testimony of a Marine sniper who was on perimeter security, he had the likely suicide bomber in the sights of his sniper rifle, was asked if he can engage and was told to stand down, not to neutralize that threat.
And as a result, 13 Americans were killed and countless, countless Afghans.
One of the individuals who was blown up, who lost his limb, his right arm, was Sergeant Tyler Vargas and he was at Andrews Air Force
Base and he met the new Commander-in-Chief and this is what Biden did to Sergeant Tyler Vargas.
I'm sitting there and he comes over to me and he leans over me. I have a picture of this to prove it.
I'll show you this picture that I have.
It's a pretty funny picture.
He leans over me and he's like this close to my face and he's like, what do you want?
What do you want?
Yeah, he said, what do you want?
I said, what?
He said, what do you want?
I'm just like confused.
I just got blown up and saw my friends die next to me.
I'm like, I just want to be myself.
And he's like, huh?
And my mom's furious.
And she's like, he said, he just wants to be himself.
He just wants to be him.
So he just wants to be me.
And he goes, oh, okay.
And they just continue to talk about everything, but what just happened.
Let's cut it out with the, um, Senile old man.
Sweet old grandfather.
He's evil.
I'm sorry, he's evil.
If you're going to lie about how your son died to those who have just lost theirs in combat.
Yeah, my son came home in a flag-draped casket too.
No, he didn't.
He died of cancer here in America.
You were there at his side in the hospital when he died.
Who lies about how their child dies and uses that lie for political purposes?
Who tries to shake the hand of a man who's had his right arm blown off and then stare in his face and say, what do you want?
A person who has no soul.
A person who has no moral compass.
A person who can look at a black man who dares to be a conservative nominee to the Supreme Court and be the chairman of the committee that affects a high-tech lynching against him.
Because guess what?
That was Joe Biden too.
A man who, after we secured the border, under COVID, literally opened our border.
To 6,000 illegals every day, 300 of whom have died, have drowned trying to enter America.
What kind of person does that?
To women, to girls, at least 40% of whom have been raped, have been sexually assaulted as they are trafficked across the border by the coyotes, by the cartels who are literally making billions, billions of dollars thanks to Joe Biden.
What kind of person does that?
Only one kind of person.
A person who is the incarnation of evil.
Who doesn't care how many people die, how many people are raped, how many people die as a result of fentanyl poisoning.
That's who Joe Biden is.

Making sense out of today's nonsense, here's Dr. Sebastian Gorka.
What kind of a difference are you making?
Well, just listen to my colleague from Dallas, broadcaster John Hudson, who's on the ground and he's seen the incredible work of the Food for the Poor campaign.
It's not us over here and them over there, but it's all of us, collectively, for a moment.
We get to live life together.
And the cool thing is, I saw Food for the Poor and what they did, where our money goes.
And it was a beautiful thing that impacted my life in such a great way that I can't wait to go back, because I believe in what Food for the Poor does.
I've seen it with my own eyes, and it really is a part of my heart and a part of my life now.
Beautiful things.
You're doing absolutely beautiful things with this organization working with the Pastors Network in 17 nations, especially where families have been hardest hit by natural disaster, by floods and earthquakes.
Children who will go to bed hungry today if we don't help them.

We open the show with very powerful clips from the hearing yesterday.
The Goldstar family is recounting what happened to their children who were killed by ISIS in Afghanistan two years ago.
The man who brought those to my attention, who made that all possible, is Daryl Iser, Congressman Iser from California, who has made time to be with us today.
Congressman Iser, welcome back to America First.
Well, thanks for having me back, and thanks for being a steward of our military and doing so much to remember those who have given so much for our country, including the fallen 13.
Please explain.
Your video clips went viral yesterday, Congressman.
Congress is in recess.
Tell us why you did this, and why you did this in California, and why you did it now.
Well, I guess the short answer is I did it because I could.
We're in the majority now.
I have the ability as a senior member of Foreign Affairs to call.
These kind of forums, and I chose to do it.
I did it in California because this was where many, many of those 13, the majority, deployed from.
They were part of the 2-1 of the Marine Corps from Camp Pendleton.
But I also did it because these families had not been heard.
I'd met with them both personally in Washington and talked to all of them on the phone and been involved with their families.
But they would continue to say, you know, they need this.
What about this?
I just found out that.
And the Department of Defense had gone just silent on them.
And so they wanted to be heard and heard in a way in which hopefully, and we're going to give them a little bit of time, the Department of Defense will answer those legitimate questions and concerns and requests these families have made about their lost children and spouses.
One of the mothers said at one point that outside of the peculiar interaction she had with Biden when he said, you know, my son died and came home in a casket like your son did, which of course is a lie.
She said afterwards, for the next two years, She was never contacted by the administration, by the White House, and her son's name never passed the lips of the current Commander-in-Chief.
How does that happen in America, Congressman?
Well, it happens because, except for this lip service that the President gives sometimes, they really did want to turn a page on Afghanistan.
And I understand that that's politically what they want to do, but turning a page on the families simple things that came out of testimony yesterday, like
where are the SIM cards from the cell phones? They returned the cell phones, but
they kept what basically the pictures that these young Marines had taken of their
buddies, you know, typical selfies that they do. Well, those may not be that
valuable for intelligence, but they certainly are valuable to a family
that want to remember their son or their husband. And when they asked
about it, they got nothing, not even a no, you can't have it for
classified purposes or some other lame excuse. And so that was
important to us, is that they be heard, and now that we truly demand that they be more
than just heard.
But...
That they come up with this, or come up with a genuine, honest reason for why they're not getting things that they know existed.
One of the others that was unthinkable was the senior NCO, the staff sergeant who really led these young men and women.
They claimed to the family that he died on impact.
Family member or friends came back, people who had been there at the time, who said, no, he not only didn't die on impact, but he put a tourniquet on his own leg and he was handing out ammo until he bled out.
For a family to hear that from his comrades in arms is heartbreaking.
But to hear it while there's a lie sitting out there for no understandable reason is unthinkable.
And that's part of what we had to hear and America heard yesterday.
We're talking to Congressman Darrell Issa, California's 48th Congressional District.
Follow him at RepDarrellIssa, issa.house.gov.
Last question to you, Congressman.
How is it, can you explain for us how is it that not only has nobody been fired for what happened in Kabul, nobody has been, nobody has had the honor to hand in their resignation, and we have the likes of Jake Sullivan and the Secretary of Defense saying they are proud of how we surrendered in Kabul.
It's from the top, Sebastian.
When you're at the very top of it, the President of the United States gave the orders and knew that we were leaving on September 11th by agreement with the Taliban.
When that's come from the top, everyone beneath that, why would you fire them?
They were doing what the President wanted them to do.
Sometimes no one's willing to say, the Emperor has no clothes.
No one's willing to look at the President and say, no, this is dead wrong.
uh... that was the difference with president trump it didn't always come
up easy but at least he wanted people who would look in the eye and disagree
with them and they could they could have legitimate debate this president or whoever
is running the country as a least decisions
uh... hasn't been that way and the fact that the president as you said
could say he was proud of a disastrous with withdrawal in which
uh... civilians are falling off of aircraft as they take off
13 Marines, 163 innocent lives were lost in that explosion after they didn't let him kill, the sniper killed that bomber before he could do it.
Those kinds of things have to be investigated.
Yesterday was not about the investigation that is ongoing by my committee and others.
It was about the families and how they've been poorly treated.
Well, we salute you, all of our listeners here at America First.
God bless you, Congressman Darrell Issa.
We look forward to having you in studio after the recess and for more footage from that hearing being released.

What did he say about Biden?
Thank you.
He used the phrase... Biden's responsible for the death of the 13.
For the death of our thirteen war fighters.
Alright.
Hi, what's your name?
Alright, where are you calling from?
Alright, it's one call a week.
Three minutes.
No frequent flyers here.
Alright, thanks.
Hang on.
Is that cut three fixed?
Yeah, I just fixed it.
The Haley cut, she didn't say it was shameful, she said it was wrong.
The interviewer kind of egged it on.
The interviewer?
Yeah, it's kind of long, it's like a minute if you want to play it.
Yeah, I'd like to hear it if it's ready.
Okay, one moment here.
Okay, Haley cut. Here it is.
More than 300 vacancies.
It's a mess.
And I know that the Pentagon has violated the Hyde Amendment, and I know you're pro-life, but would you call Senator Tuberville and ask him to stop screwing up the military?
Because we're on the brink of a conflict with China, and we cannot have this.
Well, you know, I mean, look, this just goes to show how messed up our country is.
I mean, you look at the fact that the Department of Defense shouldn't be doing this in the first place.
But there's got to be other ways to go about doing this.
You know, I mean, in a time where our recruitment is 25% down and You know, 80% of those recruits typically come from military families, and military parents are telling their kids not to go into the military.
It's because they don't feel like anybody's got the military's back.
They look at the fact that 33,000 veterans are homeless.
They look at the fact that they're, you know, dangling these promotions out there and using them as fodder.
I mean, they're looking at the fact that people don't see these You know, men and women who serve as heroes anymore.
And that's sad.
And it's terrible.
And, you know, I appreciate what Turberville is trying to do.
I do.
Like, it's totally wrong that the Department of Defense is doing this.
But have we gotten so low that this is how we have to go about stopping it?
I mean, at what point can we not go and have, you know, congressional members go to the Department of Defense and say, look, you have to go through Congress if you're going to do this.
You can't suddenly, you know, decide you're going to do this.
Don't hold, you know, Don't make us have to do this.
I just think it shouldn't get to this point.
And, you know, for my husband who's serving overseas, and for all those military men and women, the idea that this is what they're looking back and seeing, and this is what they are dealing with on top of the stresses of keeping themselves safe and being away from their families, it's wrong.
You know, Ambassador Haley, thank you for saying that.
All right, I'm going to use that.

Somebody DM'd me a tweet about Nikki Haley.
Hey Eric, has Nikki Haley made it to the platform?
Is she going to be in Iowa?
I believe she will be on that stage, yes.
She's met the polling and donor requirements.
And Pence just made it, right?
Just barely made it, yeah.
So some big billionaire wrote him a check and so he made the requirement, right?
Saved him at the last minute.
Alright, we'll talk about Pence, we'll talk about Barr and the others, but Nikki Haley, the same Nikki Haley who was chumming around, palling around with John Brennan shortly after she left the administration, apparently she's got issues with stopping the Pentagon from aborting unborn children, and she said that on a Hugh Hewitt, my colleague's show.
I guess she doesn't understand how civilian oversight of the military works.
I need to play this cut for you because it's very disturbing.

Jeff, I'm curious, what does Ambassador Haley mean by saying there should be other ways to get around the Pentagon doing this?
What does that mean?
I think this is the only way that's going to actually make a difference.
I know what she is.
She's the classic Republican.
A Wall Street Journal op-ed.
That was probably what would fix it.
No, no, no, no.
They'll have dinner at the Monocle, you know, down the street from the Capitol.
They'll have a nice little, you know, tomahawk steak over a nice little cabernet, and maybe they can do a little footsie under the table.
Is that what you're thinking of, Haley?
How about Congress does the oversight of the military?
What a crazy idea!
You know, like the Constitution says?
You hack, you swamp creature.
All right, let's go to your calls.
St.
Paul, Minnesota.
Scott!
Dr. Gorka, thank you for taking my call.
Yeah.
What's your question?
What's your comment?
My comment yesterday, you had a caller talking about Facebook and money.
Yeah.
And I do not think that you gave him a fair shot.
You kind of did, I think, what the left does.
Now, I say this with as much respect as I can.
But you went right to name calling, calling him an idiot, calling him... I did, because he's telling me that I shouldn't be posting on Facebook.
He's an idiot.
Are you going to join him in the idiot club?
Well, I want to bring a similar scenario to you.
Let me just hear your thoughts.
Stay on the line.
Have we got to do a read now, Eric?
Is it read time, Alex?
All right, stay on the line.
I want to hear whether or not you get a free membership in the Idiot Club or whether you're a good guy.
Stay on the line, Scott.
We'll talk to you in the break.
In front of all our Rumble listeners, if you have a cell phone, don't allow yourself to fund those who hate America.

They're left wing.
Go with the only Christian conservative cell phone company in the nation.
It's the one that I use Patriot Mobile.
They have the same nationwide 5G, 4G network.
They have a performance guarantee.
Also, free activation with my name.
You can keep your old number and you're not going to be funding things like Planned Parenthood, like gun control foundations.
The big phone companies have given millions of dollars to causes that are against your value system.
Join a company, a cell phone company that's on your side, that loves America.
They provide special additional discounts to veterans and first responders.

We'll be back after these messages.
You're up.
Alright.
So, I am on calling you from a Patriot phone.
That shows you a little bit of respect.
Good.
You gotta pay attention to my parents and me.
What?
By saying you're not funding Facebook by having a Facebook page, wouldn't that be very similar to me saying, I have a Netflix subscription, but I only watch Christian content?
No, because you don't pay for Facebook.
You actually must pay money to Netflix for Netflix.
The analogy breaks down.
That's fair.
Does having a page not bring Zuckerberg any advertisements with your page on it?
Well, not on my page because I'm throttled, right?
I get like, you know, eight comments on one of my posts despite having 70,000 followers.
So no, I'm not actually making money for Zuckerberg, but that's not the point.
The point is, what are you going to do?
Are you going to hide in a cave and shout at the walls?
If you have a message to get out to the nation, how are you going to do it?
Are you going to shout it from your backyard?
No.
You need a platform.
Bingo, Scott.
You need a platform.
You've changed my mind, but thank you for taking my call.
God bless.
Stay with us.
Let's get you a signed copy of The War for America's Soul.
Good for you, Scott.
You have just managed to stay out of the Idiot's Club, and you are in the Sagacity Club instead.
Stay on the line.
We'll get your address.
All right.
What'd you say you were giving them?
War.
You're actually... Facebook has cost them money because they banned you from monetization.
So it's actually... For a moment I thought you were going to call it Welcome to the Cigar Club.
Nah, PhD.
Okay, good.
You should hand out t-shirts to the Free 88 Club.
Oh, that's good.
The free, yeah, t-shirts.
You gotta do the Gorka Idiot Club.
The Gorka Idiot Club.
Yeah, yeah.
Something like that.
I'm sure the rumble chat... No, no.
Certified idiot.
On their forehead.
Certified idiot.
What is the story about this fight in the boat dock?
I couldn't even tell you.
Where is this?
Alabama?
Montgomery, Alabama.
And what's your address?
The rumble chat would probably think a shirt with the word cretin on it would be fitting.
Every time you use that word on a caller, they're all like, oh, take a shot.
The word cretin.
Cretin.
Alright, thirty seconds.
I wanna come in with something here.
Uh, no.
Oh, actually, is there anything short?
We're coming with six.
Yeah, I was gonna say Trump.
No lie.
You You
You .
Deranged Jack Smith.
He's a deranged human being.
You take a look at that face, you say, that guy is a sick man.
There's something wrong with him.
Somebody said, why don't you be nice to him?
I said, yeah, wouldn't matter.
Wouldn't matter.
This guy's a maniac.
They gave me a maniac.
Deranged maniac.
I think that's a good description for Jack Smith.
It is not a description for Scott, who stayed on the line and then, like a real man, admitted he was wrong and said, Dr. G, you convinced me.
Why?
Because when it came to Facebook, how are you going to get your message out?
Are you going to stand in a cave and shout at the wall?
You've got to use their platforms.
That doesn't mean you're making them money, especially if you're winning, winning, winning.

What is your comment?
I was listening to Congressman Issa, and my heart just broke because I saw the mother on, it was on Twitter when she spoke, regarding her son.
And it broke, it really broke my heart.
But the interview, when you brought Congressman Issa up, And then towards the end, and I don't know if you even caught it, but I did, and when he said, this president, or whoever is running the country... I caught Daryl saying, whoever's running the country, oh yes.
Whoever is running this country, mister whoever is running this country, That is very nefarious and luciferian, alright?
They all are!
They all are!

That is very nefarious.
And if anyone has not seen that movie, Nefarious, you ought to see it.

Compassionate and righteously angry Gorka.
Oh yeah, I don't need any excuse to be righteously angry.
Thank you, my friend.
Carry on!
Well, you asked, what kind of a person does that?
Those who taunt, torment and torture a crippled soldier who has just had his right arm blown off in Afghanistan, and then Biden reaches out to shake that hand, And who insults and disgraces grieving parents whose sons he has also recently murdered, saying he too has lost a son?
And who are these hateful, heartless, laughing hyenas from hell like Joe and Jill, Camilla Harris and grotesque Gavin Newsom, and their fellow demons?
These are all criminal sociopaths who sadistically laugh and cackle at their victims by tweaking and tormenting them publicly.
And these predators love power, but even more, they love to inflict pain, like when Joe sexually assaults children and wives on stage in front of their parents or their spouses.
Any psychologist worth their salt knows about these sociopaths, but most psychologists today are either too ignorant, cowardly, or sociopathic themselves to open their mouths and expose them.
Yeah, I will say sociopath is a perfect description.
He hasn't sexually assaulted any children on stage that I know of.
He's been a creep.
The only person that he has been credibly accused of sexually assaulting is
of course Tara Reid. If you haven't seen that interview you should look it up she came

You've written a lengthy piece for the New York Sun on the newest indictment from Jack Smith.
Here is President Trump's attorney, or one of them, explaining the problem with the accusations.
Cut 13.
Like what?
I mean, where do I even start?
Like what?
Tell me.
What action?
He asked me, the Arizona speaker, to interfere with ascertaining Arizona's electors.
Asking.
Asking.
Asking a speech.
That's the point.
Dancing is speech.
It's not action.
Almost all alleged criminal activity has to do with using words and is speech.
This is obviously the defense that you're going to use and it will be fascinating to see how it works out in a court of law.
I want to move on to another issue.
No, no, I gotta tell you though, but you make an interesting point because you're saying that asking is action.
No, asking is aspirational.
Asking is not action, it's core free speech.
The press should be defending free speech in this case.
Let's talk about something else that you've repeatedly said.
Clearly, Dana Lash did not want to continue discussing that point, but how perverse is it, Lord Black, as the former head of one of the world's biggest media conglomerates, to have a host on a national cable channel try and argue that free speech should be criminalized?
Well, it is perverse and it is dangerous.
But that is the corner that these Trump haters have backed themselves into.
And in fairness to them, they've been conducted to that position by the United States government and by its abuse of the of its lawful raison d'etre of administering and executing
the laws fairly, because the Justice Department has transmogrified into an arm of the
dirty tricks division of the Democratic National Committee, and they're trying to play
upon this widespread dislike of Trump as a man who's seen by many to be boorish and a
bully, a man who took every corner on two wheels when he was in the private sector.
Uh, and, and, and portray him as a monster and virtually a gangster, a thug, a person who is known, it is notorious public knowledge that he is a thug and a gangster and therefore anything that he does is apt to be a crime.
So we'll just overlook the fact, the inconvenient fact that you just mentioned, that what he is being charged with is indeed a legitimate exercise of the constitutionally guaranteed right of all Americans to free expression.
And in addition to that, he did have a legitimate grievance about the changes to the voting and vote counting procedures prior to the last presidential election.
And his counsel, who was on the air trying to make himself heard, I saw when he was being
respectfully treated by another interviewer on another network, said that they were going
to re-litigate the entire list of their legitimate grievances on the 2020 election.
People would be summoned under criminal subpoena and have to explain the consequences of 40 million harvested, unverifiable ballots in an election where if 50,000 votes had flipped, Trump would have won.
And that is his complaint, and it's been stifled by the courts and by the media.
And now, if they ever get to trial with this clunker of a case they have, That is going to come out, and it's not going to be easy to ignore it.
Well, look, this is a crucial point, so let's dissect this a little bit further.
We're talking to Lord Conrad Black.
The website is ConradMBlack.
He is the co-host of the podcast Scholars in Sense with Victor Davis Hanson and Bill Bennett.
A new episode just dropped on Friday.
Please subscribe and listen to it, and you can follow him at Conrad Black on Twitter.
The case will not be televised.
We know that it won't be televised.
But nevertheless, it is a platform upon which the grievances of 2020 Maybe, Ed, we know this is a judge who looks on President Trump anemically, but she won't be able to block everything.
And it goes to my hypothesis that I'd like to test with you, that the left has become radicalized.
The Democrat Party of today could not envisage having a JFK or a Scoop Jackson amongst its ranks today.
It truly has become an extremist party.
But my question is, Are they less than intelligent?
Because it seems to me like a hugely potential own goal that, driven by your hatred of the 45th president, you're giving him not just a national but a global platform to actually litigate that which he didn't have a chance to litigate after 2020.
That doesn't seem very strategic, Lord Black.
I agree.
I think it is tactically mistaken.
And what I don't understand, I honestly have no idea how this comes to pass, but they claim to want Trump as an opponent, and yet they are trying to destroy him.
And now I know there is this theory that they're so diabolically clever that they think that in attacking him as they are, it will cause the Republican Party to rally behind him, and therefore they will have the opponent they want.
But the trouble with that one is, I don't think they are that smart, by the way.
If they were, we wouldn't have Biden as president.
We would have found someone better than that, and Harris as vice president.
But the problem with it is, in persecuting this man, they are going to make him more
popular, not just to the Republicans, who like him anyway, most of them, but to the
voters as a whole.
And because Trump is clearly being persecuted, and as time goes by, this will become more
and more obvious as the cases are examined in a little more objectivity.
And that's going to accrue to his benefit electorally.
I think they have a real problem here, because at the same time, the difficulties of the Biden family are becoming harder and harder to keep under the rug.
You know, the old line about people living in glass houses.
Now, my own view, and we've discussed this in previous programs, is that They're going to push Biden out.
They can't do it now.
They can't push him out of office because they don't want Harris as the president.
But they're going to push him out.
They can't run this guy again.
So will they primary him before the election?
I think, to take a phrase from the Watergate era, a long row of limousines, except that they're not used anymore because they're gas guzzlers, but a long row of cars will arrive at the White House carrying the powers that be in the Democratic Party, and they'll say, look, you phrase it any way you want, but you can't run again.
Blame it on the doctors, more time with your family, whatever you want, but it won't apply.
And Joe will take the hint, but I don't mean to be disrespectful.
The president will take the hint, and then they'll try and bring in a new candidate.
Newsom is the favorite, although he's no prize candidate after what he's done in California.
But they'll just pretend that this gong show with Biden and Harris didn't happen.
But it's a hard road they've chosen for themselves, and all the time, Trump is going to campaign against the spurious and obvious shortcomings of this political indict-o-rama they've thrown at him.
By the way, if the Code of Criminal Procedure in the United States is anything like what it is in countries where I know about, in theory, I am actually a lawyer.
I haven't practiced for a long time, but in the civil law jurisdiction of French Canada.
But the codes always provide a great deal of dilatory exceptions.
And the whole process of making motions and appealing the decision on motions, in my opinion, is going to push all of these things past the election.
I don't think they're trying any of this stuff prior to the election.
Well, and which makes it all the more peculiar that they waited two and a half years to bring the charges and then Jack Smith gives a press conference for about two minutes after which he takes no questions and he says, we are in a great rush, we have to try this case rapidly.
In that case, why did you wait for two and a half years?

I mean, the Republicans haven't found anything else there.
If there were, I'd be very happy to ask questions about it, but...
Well, what does that mean?
The payments?
As far as I know, Hunter Biden made a bunch of business deals, which is lawful, which a lot of family members have done.
Republican, Democrat, you know, other political families, they've done the same thing.
And he added, you know, the money diverted into different funds.
I don't know there's an allegation of any crime there.
But what is the crime that's being asserted?
Well, you don't find it curious that multiple members of the Biden family, allegedly, again because I haven't been able to get to the bottom of any of it, received payments from corporations, foreign corporations, when we don't know whether or not they're in any kind of consulting business.
Well, maybe you're aware of ones.
The only ones I'm aware of being alleged are ones where Hunter Biden got payments.
He was able to insinuate himself through a situation where he was getting paid, and then he had the payments directed to different accounts.
Right.

We are back with Lord Conrad Black dissecting his latest piece in the New York Sun and the aftershocks of the latest indictment, the third indictment against President Trump.
A fourth is expected from Georgia imminently.
Lord Black, we've looked at the Democrats, we've looked at the albatross that has become The current incumbent in the White House.
Let's look at the conservative side of the aisle.
It is telling that the former governor of New Jersey is only appearing on the likes of CNN and MSNBC, but I'd like you to respond to his analysis of the indictment, especially what he says about the man who works for President Trump as his valet, Walter Nauta.
This is Chris Christie.
Cut one.
And now the superseding indictment where he was ordering folks allegedly to delete the surveillance cameras.
You know, it reminded me of like what maybe Abbott and Costello meets the Corleones would have looked like.
You know, all of a sudden now you're sending Fredo, Walton Nauta is Fredo, down there to eliminate the server.
I mean, this is both criminal and completely stupid, which is the combination that Donald Trump is bringing to the country, is the combination of criminality and abject stupidity.
You know President Trump.
You've negotiated with President Trump.
I for one am annoyed, I'm angry that Chris Christie even brings up Abbott and Costello because I love Abbott and Costello.
But why is the establishment Republican Party, the likes of this individual, find it okay to attack the 45th president and then to To call him stupid.
I'm sure you know that he's not stupid having negotiated with him.
And perhaps most telling of all, his assault and his ridicule of the man who was his butler in the White House, who works for him now at Mar-a-Lago, and who's now facing more than 300 years in prison.
Well, I think it's a disgraceful performance by Christie, and I think his entire so-called campaign is a disgrace.
It's just sour grapes.
He was the most egregious bootlicker in the Trump entourage of anybody in 2016.
And then when he, for reasons that are speculated about, wasn't rewarded with any preferments
from the president when he became president, he apostatized and is now the loudest and
most tasteless of the Trump accusers.
I mean, I find former Congressman Hurd and former Governor Hutchison obnoxious.
They're little people of trivial accomplishments compared to what Trump is, a semi-self-made
billionaire and an undoubted television star and a person who put together a miraculous
formula for being elected president and was a good president, compared to him, who are
they?
But Christie had, what, a 9% approval rating when he left as governor, though I think he
was a good governor for most of his two terms.
He squeezed out of that bridgegate business, and to be a circumstance, and it does not
lie in his mouth to make allegations of dishonesty or stupidity against anyone, particularly
since he is so ludicrous.
I don't want to harp on anyone's physical characteristics, but he is an absurd, overweight man, mouthing implausible and extreme allegations.
against someone in a way that is clangorously inappropriate.
If he has a problem with Trump on the issues, he should say it.
If he really thinks that Trump is an inferior character, he should say it, but say it in
civilized terminology, not with an attempt to scrape the barrel of the school yard or
back alley exploit.
submitted a disgraceful performance. You mentioned the liability that Biden has become. The press,
the digitation, the permutations, the terpsichore that the Democrats are having to go through
to defend him based upon what we've heard coming out in the various Hunter revelations are typified
by this interview between Cuomo, Chris Cuomo, and Jamie Raskin, the Congressman of Maryland, where
he actually admits something, I think without realizing it, cut nine, play cut.
I think they've been very honest and open about it, but there's nothing else there.
I mean, the Republicans haven't found anything else there.
If there were, I'd be very happy to ask questions about it, but... Well, the payments to the family members...
Well, what does that mean?
The payments to the family members?
As far as I know, Hunter Biden made a bunch of business deals, which is lawful, which a lot of family members have done.
Republican, Democrat, you know, other political families, they've done the same thing.
And he added, you know, the money diverted into The fact that they're saying, yes, the money was diverted to various family members from these foreign corporations, can they just get away with saying that and saying that that's not a crime and it has nothing to do with who their father was, Lord Black?
Look, I have been one of those who's always said that if the Bidens are smart enough to get some saps to give them money just for access to Joe Biden, As long as U.S.
government policy is not altered in respect of the receipt of those payments, as far as I can see, it's legal.
But the President lied about it, and he's got a lot hanging out in terms of his credibility.
And it's distasteful, and it's shabby, but I don't see the illegality.
What I pointed out in the piece you kindly mentioned in the New York Sun that was posted yesterday that I wrote, Victor Sorkin, the prosecutor that Joe Biden boasted of having fired, has stated, and it's right there on the internet, anyone in the world can see it, that he was fired because of Biden's intervention, and he was fired because he was investigating Burisma, not the Bidens, but he was going to get to the Bidens, and they wanted the whole thing shut down before it did get to them, and that's why he was fired.
And he is saying that the threat of withholding U.S.
government aid was made unilaterally by the vice president to spare his son and
himself and his family the embarrassment of their corruption in Ukraine being
exposed. Now if that's true, those are not only grounds for impeachment but for
removal from office.
Yeah, that video is new.
We will play it here on the show.
Thank you for mentioning it, Lord Black.

You know, you could take his evidence overseas.
Take it by Zoom.
Now, I admit, putting him under oath in Ukraine doesn't accomplish that much, but it's still relevant, I think.
Totally.
Utterly.
Yeah, because it's been the real question.
Why was he fired?
Why did Biden make that a demand upon the $1 billion worth of trade credits?
Could I ask a favor of you?
Totally.
Kill the mics.
This is a test.
Test.
you you

Here's looking at you, Snowflake.

Why are so many people buying emergency food supplies right now?

He was the 40th Commissioner of the NYPD.
He is a man who fights for the truth every single day.
If I were in a trench, I'd like to have him beside me.
He is, of course, Bernie Carrick, Commissioner.
Welcome back to America First.
How are you, Sebastian?
I started off really angry yesterday, based upon what happened last week.
I've been brought down a little bit by some great analyses.
We just had Lord Conrad Black on the show.
We're going to be talking to Joe DiGenna, the Victoria Tunsing, tomorrow for the whole third hour of the show.
But you're caught up in the middle of all of this.
You were fighting for the truth after the 2020 election.
So I'd like your initial reaction to what Jack Smith has done, and then we'll take it from there.
Well, my initial reaction on the indictment itself, I'm surprised.
On a number of different fronts.
Primarily, there's an enormous amount of exculpatory evidence, whether it comes from me or it comes from Giuliani or others, that really contradicts Can you give an example of the kind of exculpatory evidence that you have access to and that will burst Jack Smith's balloon?
Look, you know, I, as you know, or probably know, I spent about five hours, five and a half hours yesterday with the Special Counsel's office.
Yes.
About a week ago and several months ago, between two time periods, I handed over several hundred documents to the Special Counsel.
Some of those are privileged documents that we received a waiver from the President on.
Gave them to the Special Counsel.
I urged them and everybody, anybody, to take a look at them.
And what they do is they give you a really good idea of what the legal team was doing back in 2020 into 2021.
Between November 5th and January 6th and beyond January 6th of 2021, we were conducting investigations and investigation To put together litigation evidence or put together evidence that we collected to give to state authorities or the Attorney General or DOJ.
There was an enormous amount of information that we collected.
We collected affidavits from witnesses that they themselves witnessed fraud or allegations of fraud.
They swore under the penalty of perjury, submitting those affidavits.
We collected raw data from different states concerning the numbers of ballots received, ballots that went out.
You know, in Pennsylvania, for example, there were numbers like 22,000.
And this, keep in mind, Nobody realized this until recently.
The information that we collected actually came from the Secretary of State's own database.
We dumped those numbers and analyzed them and we found things like 22,000 ballots went out on this date and were returned on the same date.
That's impossible.
32,000 ballots went out, but they were received before they went out.
Things like that, major discrepancies within their own numbers.
When we brought it to Pennsylvania's attention back in 2020, they immediately took everything off the website.
They dropped the entire election data from the website so we couldn't have access to it.
Keep in mind, Sebastian, our legal team, Giuliani's legal team, which was the official legal team for the president, We only had five or six people working with us.
We were understaffed, non-funded, had no subpoena power, and we were restricted to about a six-week to eight-week time span on when we can conduct these investigations.
So a lot of this stuff wasn't actually conclusive.
But here's Here's what people tend to forget. Hold the thought right
there. We'll have a little cliffhanger to the next segment. We're going to hear the key conclusion of
our guest, former commissioner for the NYPD. Follow him at Bernard Kerrick. I'm Sebastian

That's hot off the presses, President Trump.

He's the author of the amazing autobiography, Lost Son.
40th Commissioner for the New York Police Department.
Commissioner Kerik, you were about to tell us the most important point of the indictment or what Jack Smith gets wrong.
Well, he charged President Trump with lying, having the mindset that, you know, he lost the election, but he lied about it and continued to say that it was stolen.
And in my view, my opinion, and based on the evidence that we have, that I showed the prosecutors yesterday, that's pretty much impossible.
The president was briefed on a daily basis by Rudy Giuliani, and every single day we advised him on the evidence that we were looking at, on the things that we thought, we believed, we found probable cause To believe that there was fraud in the election in a various number of states.
There's no way the president thought that was a lie.
I wasn't lying.
I didn't make up all these affidavits.
These people swore to affidavits under the penalty of perjury.
Let me just say right here in front of millions of people that after the election you and I were approached by a third person And we met with President Trump in Trump Tower in New York to talk about what happened in the election.
And I gave him my advice.
I thought, you know, I'm not going to hold back.
I'm going to tell him what I think he needs to do.
But in that discussion, which was a very frank discussion, Commissioner, there were three of us and the president in the room.
That was it.
There was no, I mean, no doubt in my mind that the President believed that the election was rigged.
Was there any doubt in your mind?
No.
There wasn't any doubt in my mind then.
There wasn't any doubt in my mind in 2020.
And I have to tell you, the President has every right to believe.
Based on what we found and what we were doing, that there were substantial problems in the election.
So for Bill Barr and Mike Pence and all these people to say, well, we told them there was no fraud.
How does Bill Barr know?
Bill Barr didn't come to us and get our intelligence, our investigation.
Nobody talked to us from the Bureau or DOJ.
I explained that to the council yesterday.
So, you know, I'm disturbed by the indictment, but hopefully what I presented to them yesterday, and I know what Giuliani presented them in the past, presented to them, hopefully that enlightens them, gives them some ideas as to why the president believes the election was stolen.
But that's presupposing, Commissioner.
That Jack Smith and his team, and the judge, are acting in good faith.
And we have zero evidence to that effect, given what we saw him do with Governor Bob McDonnell, given what Judge Chutkan has done with the January 6th defendants, and how she was a colleague at Flexner Boys, the same law firm where Hunter Biden worked.
So, you know, there's no good faith on their side.
If it's just a legal battle, a battle royale, What do you think right now is going to be the most effective weapon?
What piece of evidence?
Or is it just the fact that we'll have a national platform on which to litigate that which we weren't allowed to litigate back in 2020?
Sebastian, it's pretty simple.
Here's the reality.
By them indicting President Trump, they gave him subpoena power.
They gave him the power and the authority To really put on a national platform what we were looking at, what he believed, and why.
Alright, and who does he have to subpoena in the first week?
Who does the team have to get in front of the judge, in front of the court reporters?
Which state has the most damning evidence?
You were on the ground.
Where do we begin to tell the world what happened?
Well, I'd look at Pennsylvania, I'd look at Arizona, I'd look at Georgia, those primaries, Michigan.
You know, all the president has to do is go to Rudy Giuliani and say, give me 500 affidavits that were sworn under the penalty of perjury of people that believed the witness saw was a part of some fraud, some alleged fraud.
And ask Bill Barr on the stand under cross-examination, ask him.
Have you ever talked to these people?
Did you ever interview them?
You've gone public time and time again and said there was no fraud.
Really?
I didn't know that.
You know, honestly, Sebastian, they told me, they said yesterday, that Bill Barr had conducted some investigation or ordered
some investigation.
That was my understanding of what they said to me yesterday.
But I know in Pennsylvania, he told the U.S. attorney not to investigate.
He told the U.S. attorney not to speak publicly.
That U.S. attorney went public and made a statement about that.
And not only that, what they have to do in the court is not only subpoena Bill Barr, they have to show him the video of what he said on Fox News prior to the election, that mailing out tens of millions of ballots is playing with fire.
What changed, Bill Barr?
What changed for you to say, oh it was dangerous before the election, But afterward, it's okay.
I'm just glad we've got Bernie Kerrick on the case.
Follow him at Bernard Kerrick right now.
The book is Lost Son.

Yep.
Oh, what am I doing?
Five?
At 5.15 you're doing Solomon.
Do they give us a topic?
Not yet.
I'm gonna play the Neocut.
That's caught.
Or do I do Ron the saddest, Geoff?
You know what my answer would be.
What was the first one in here?
Neo, the rapper.
It's up to you.
It's very diplomatic.
I mean, Ron's kind of fading, you know what I mean?
The way I see it, and I've seen people on Twitter say this, he may be falling, but the way I see it, you always make sure the snake is definitely dead.
Man, you are vicious.
Don't let up until he loses.
I believe in kicking people in their down.
Absolutely.
You and Eric Holder, right?
So you're gonna do Neo?
No.
I don't know.
I'm gonna do Levincing.
Oh yes.
I'm going to be doing a lot of this.

Ron DeSantis is getting a little irritated and it's leading to him saying crazy things like this.
Cut three!
Here's the issue that I think is important for Republican voters to think about.
Why did we have all those mail votes?
Because of Trump turned the government over to Fauci.
They embraced lockdowns.
They did the CARES Act, which funded mail-in ballots across the country.
Donald Trump signed that bill that funded the mail ballots that all the Republicans have been so concerned about.
And also with the censorship of the Hunter Biden.
That was Donald Trump's FBI that was working with that.
He didn't have control over his own government.
So me as the nominee, we will not let them run circles around us.
I'm confused.
Jeff, can somebody tell the governor that the feds don't run elections in America?
And the best thing is, too, if you, his next question, you probably would talk about how great of a job he did in Florida fixing the election process, because it's the governor that does that, and state legislators.
Oh, that's ironic!
So, in his next answer, he undermines what he said in the previous answer.
Exactly.
All right.
I've got to read this to you.
This is from Mark Levin earlier today and I love it.
This is the great one.
He tweeted this out.
Bill Barr and Mike Pence are two of the most self-righteous frauds I've ever seen in public life.
Barr's discussion about the latest indictments supposedly involving January the 6th is incoherent and imbecilic.
In other words, he has nothing but contempt for Trump because Trump fired him and he would be thrilled if Trump not only lost the election but was sentenced to years in prison.
God bless Mark Levin.
He's absolutely right.
What kind of man are you that Because of personal reasons, because you didn't get on with somebody, you completely throw law and the rule of law out of the window.
You don't care.
And this from somebody who was not once, but twice an Attorney General.
That's Bill Barr.
Mike Pence?
He doesn't have an excuse either.
Next up, America First one-on-one with the preeminent scholar on socialism, on communism.
He's going to explain why it's no longer a threat out there, it's a threat inside America.

Bye.
Thank you.
So in your discussions of the nuclear freeze proposals, I urge you to beware the temptation of pride, the temptation of blithely declaring yourselves above it all, and label both sides equally at fault, to ignore the facts of history and the aggressive impulses of an evil empire, to simply call the arms race a giant misunderstanding, and thereby remove yourself from the struggle between right and wrong, and good and evil.
That, of course, was the Gipper, one of the greatest presidents for the United States, a man who warned us against arguments of moral equivalency and then would go on to call our adversary the evil empire.
The challenge today is the Soviet Union is gone, Russia is a fraction of the threat it was previously, but perhaps The evil is now inside the wire.
Who better to discuss one-on-one than a man who has built his life on understanding the scourge that Karl Marx left us?
He is the editor of American Spectator, amongst many other things, author of numerous books all worth your time.
Let's welcome Professor Paul Kengor.
Professor, welcome back to America First.
Thank you, Dr. Sebastian Gorka.
How are you?
Very well, very well.
We have so much to discuss.
I could spend hours with you dissecting the zombie-like recrudescence of Marxism now inside our nation.
We're going to discuss your recent piece in the American Spectator about Edward Teller.
Very, very well-timed, given the new Nolan film on the Oppenheimer story.
But first, let's start with this big geopolitical question.
You're about the same age as me.
I can remember, as if it were last week, November the 9th, 1989, the East Berliners breaching the Berlin Wall with hand implements, with chisels and pickaxes.
Then, Christmas Day 1991, the greatest Christmas present I and my parents ever received was the fall of the Soviet Union.
We thought we'd won.
People actually built careers and sold books with the title The End of History and The Last Man.
Sadly, that celebration was a little premature.
Do you concur or what do you react to the observation that the communist threat, the Marxist threat, is now not from people 8,000 miles away in the Kremlin, but from American citizens in America?
Yeah, yeah.
Well, it's such a great question, right?
So many elements to it.
But I'll say this, the good news is that that battle that we fought between the United States and the Cold War and what was called the Soviet Union, we did win that one.
And that was something to be celebrated through people like Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, Vaclav Havel, Solidarity Movement, right?
I mean, all those things were absolutely crucial.
And I was, I don't know about you, Seb, but November 1989, I was a senior in college at that point.
And I remember just talking to fellow classmates and saying, wow, Czechoslovakia is going down.
East Germany's going down.
Hungary has moved toward freedom.
Who's left?
And somebody said, Romania.
I said, oh yeah, Romania.
Well, they'll be communists for the next 50 years.
And then on Christmas Day in 1989, they arrested, tried, sentenced, and executed Nikolai Ceausescu.
Right?
Christmas Day in 1989.
And then Christmas Day two years later, December 25th, 1991, Mikhail Gorbachev called President George H.W.
Bush and said, I'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas and tell you that I am resigning today as head of basically what was left of the Soviet Union.
So we won that, and that's a great thing.
But sadly, no, communism hasn't gone away.
It's coming in other forms and manifestations.
And unfortunately, too, for people like Ukraine and elsewhere and a lot of Eastern Europe, you've got a former lieutenant colonel in the KGB.
A master in what the Soviets call desinformatia, disinformation, who's now running Russia and has been since 2000 and if he lives long enough might be there until 2030, 2036.
And China's out there, too.
And Cuba's still out there.
So that menace hasn't gone away.
And of course, I know what you're thinking.
What we're learning in America, American universities, where Marxism is being applied to culture, to gender, to race, critical race theory, an altogether different kind of zombie-like, maybe vampiric-like rot or influence that's now going on in America today.
There's something that Marx and Engels and Gorbachev would have probably not even
realized it's so odd.
Do you have a theory as to what happened?
Because, you know, I can remember the imagery.
I was in Hungary when Ceaușescu was giving his anti-Christmas speech.
You know, he cancelled Christmas, and every Christmas he would celebrate himself.
And he's standing there on the balcony with his wife Elena, that evil, evil witch.
And instead of cheering for him, the crowd suddenly says, down with Ceaușescu.
And that look on his face when he says, Well, are they saying that about me?
And then escaping from the roof of the building in that military helicopter, the pilot faking a fault with the helicopter to force a landing, and then he basically getting arrested by the local military commander, a show trial, a very quick military tribunal, then a firing squad execution for both Ceausescu and his wife.
Well, remember the volunteers for the firing squad, right?
Yes.
Normally with a firing squad, you would have like 10 shooters and half of them would have blanks.
Right.
So they'd have a clear conscience to think maybe, well, maybe I didn't shoot the guy that the bullet, the bullet that killed him.
But in this case, they asked for volunteers and people were jumping up and down volunteering, right?
Let me do it.
Let me do it.
And the final words out of Elena Ceausescu's mouth was, how could you do this to me?
I've been like a mother to you.
Right.
Don't you know who I am?
Yeah, they were horrible.
Unbelievably evil.
So that looks like a pretty solid routing.
That looks like a vanquishing of Karl Marx.
And then how are we here today where we have so-called democratic socialists like AOC, who call themselves socialists, In the Congress, we have a lack of national sovereignty, we have defund the police, open borders.
What happened in the 1990s?
Was it the slow boil of the Frankfurt School?
Was it Marcuse's, you know, bitter seeds finally bearing fruit while, while what?
Conservatives weren't paying attention, Professor?
Yeah, three words, education, education, education, right?
Or maybe six words, higher education, higher education, higher education.
It was the universities and we saw it.
I mean, you and I saw it.
And I mean, we saw it throughout the 1990s into the early 2000s.
Seb, I was going around the country giving speeches for Young America's Foundation with titles like, Why Communism is Bad.
And I get these desperate emails from College Republicans saying, we don't have a single Republican on the faculty here out of 200.
I'm not exaggerating.
We got an econ and poli sci professor with a bust of marks.
It's unbelievable what's going on.
Can you come here and give a lecture on why this stuff is bad?
I remember telling people, I said, this monster is going to come back.
Someone's flipped open the coffin, taken the stake out of the chest, and it's going to come back and bite us, because it was in our universities.
When I talk about this on radio, like today, I'll get an email from one of your listeners who will say, My name is so-and-so.
I am from Poland.
I came to this country in 1992.
Professor, my daughter, who went to an Ivy League college in America, is now a Marxist!
How can this be, sir?
How can this be?
They're distraught.
They can't believe it.
It was the takeover of the universities by the left.
Yeah.
I'm going to ask you later in the hour what we do about it.

Have I done enough?
We, my wife and I, we have that automatic deduction, it goes straight out of our bank account, a little bit like tithing, and even then you think, Really?
Is that enough?
Well, if you want to do something truly special, something that echoes the words of our Lord and Savior, remember what Jesus said?
He said, come unto me, the little children.
He gave us priorities.
He said, orphans.
He said, prisoners.
Children deserve our support first.
Yes, there are priorities.
Widows as well.
Well, there's an organization that's doing just that right now in 17 nations.
It's Food for the Poor.
With their Pastors Network, they are in countries like Haiti, like Guatemala.

Before we proceed to discuss topical events, the arrival, sadly, of the police state in America, Professor, let's go back in time a little bit, because it's worth remembering how we won, what we did win.
We won the international part of this war against Marxism, and you've chronicled it.
You've chronicled it in the book about Blessed Saint John Paul II and President Reagan, a Pope and a President.
You've written some seminal works, my favorite is Dupes, How America's Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century, on and on and on.
But will you, and most recently The Devil and Karl Marx, but will you talk most...
What I'd like to focus on most is how there's this kind of triumvirate.
I grew up in the UK, as you know, and for me, it's Maggie Thatcher, it's Ronald Reagan, and it's St.
John Paul III.
They're important figures like Lech Wałęsa, Vaclav Havel, and others, but for me, it's that triumvirate.
Without them, we'd still be fighting that war, in my opinion.
Yeah, I agree.
And our good friend John O'Sullivan did that book, right?
Yes.
Pope, a president and a prime minister.
Right.
And Margaret Thatcher was crucial.
I would say, and among the things that we did, so you started off our discussion today, Seb, by playing the evil empire speech clip.
And that was March 8th, 1983.
And imagine this, if you're the Soviets, if you're Yuri Andropov, right?
This odious figure.
Former head of the KGB.
By the way, the guy who green-lighted the Mahomet Ali Asha and the Bulgarians when they shot to try to assassinate Pope John Paul II, May 13th, 1981.
Not only that, in 1956 he was the ambassador to Hungary and he affected the kidnap and the murder of Prime Minister Imre Nagy.
So this guy is as evil as they come.
Right, after promising him asylum, virtually.
And that's right, as evil as they come, and that guy ends up replacing Brezhnev.
And being the head of truly what Ronald Reagan called that day, March 8th, 1983, the evil empire.
So first, Andropov gets that shock, right?
That the leader of the United States, the leader of the free world would use that kind of moral language.
In fact, George Will wrote at the time in the Washington Post, he said what Reagan did that was so crucial was he re-moralized the Cold War conflict.
He got people to think of it in terms of good versus evil.
I mean, people like Alexander Solzhenitsyn and others had used terms like evil, but a lot of American liberals were saying, you can't dare call it, how could you dare call all those people over there evil, right?
And Reagan said, it's not the people, it's the system, it's the empire, it's the Soviet Union, it's evil.
And then two weeks after that, in fact, 15 days to be exact, March 23rd, 1983, Reagan gives a nationally televised speech, right, to the whole country.
March 8th was to the National Association of Evangelicals in Orlando, Florida.
So March 23rd, he speaks to the whole country, national television primetime, about something called the Strategic Defense Initiative, SDI.
And if your hand dropped off, and our late friend, Herb Meyer, who was the right-hand man of Bill Casey at the CIA, Tell me.
He said he's sitting in his office in Langley the next day, March 24th, and he's reading the overnight stuff that's coming in over the wire.
And he said the Soviets were just apoplectic.
You could tell that Reagan just fired the silver bullet.
With his idea of the strategic defense.
But not only, I mean, let's make it clear that it's these two things together.
It's the, you know, the satellites that will defeat the first strike potential of the Soviets.
But with the evil empire speech, it's the kill shot to this moral equivalency argument that these are just competing powers.
No, no, no, no.
There's a good side and there's a bad side and that's what Reagan gave us.
That's exactly right.
Reagan said in his memoirs, we all know that Marxism is an empty cupboard, right?
There's nothing in it.
And worse than that, he says it enslaves people, it kills people.
This isn't just another ideology where people can disagree on tax rates or Social Security reform, right?
This is an ideology that was responsible for the deaths of over 100 million people from 1917 when it started in the Soviet Union through about the late 1980s.
Reagan said it's about time somebody called it evil.
You and I both know the story of Natan Sharansky, right?
Anatoly Sharansky.
He's sitting in his cell block in the gulag.
And his captors come in, holding up a copy of Pravda or whatever, saying, you know, here's your Reagan, here's your hero, right?
Look at what a warmonger he is.
He calls us evil, right?
Saber-rattler, trying to start World War III.
And they throw the newspaper through the prison cell, right?
And then they walk away.
Sharansky saw that.
He starts leaping up and down, cheering, and he starts tapping out in Morse code to the cell next to him.
Reagan called the Soviet Union an evil empire.
And then the next guy taps it out.
Pretty soon you have the whole gulag ringing out in Morse code, evil empire, evil empire, evil empire.
So that was so crucial to indeed tell people who were guilty of this moral equivalency, We are not the same.
And Reagan said in that speech, he said, look, we have a legacy, too, of sin and evil, right?
Racism, anti-Semitism, slavery.
He said, but still, our system and our country is far superior to their system.
And there's nothing wrong with saying that.
That should be pointed out.
Yeah, yeah.
The power, the power of leadership and moral clarity cannot be denied.

It is breaking records.
It is the latest from Christopher Nolan.
It is the movie Oppenheimer.
And it's a good time to remember how we ended World War II and some of the great minds, many immigrants, who allowed us to end that war with a nuclear device and save at least 600,000 lives in the Pacific.
You wrote about a kind of minor character, Professor, in the movie, but also a giant of the Manhattan Project, Edward Teller, remembering the other father of the bomb, including a fascinating discussion about faith.
Tell us a little bit about Edward Teller, and do we need a movie about him as well, Professor?
Well, we do, and you're not going to get it.
At least you're not going to get it from the left.
And Christopher Nolan, I don't know what his politics are, so I don't mean that as a dig at Nolan.
But Edward Teller has been vilified by the left because he openly shared some of his suspicions of Oppenheimer's communist sympathies, which Oppenheimer indeed had.
Edward Teller, however, had no communist sympathies.
He came from Hungary.
He was an anti-communist.
He was anti-fascist, anti-communist.
With Oppenheimer, you just had anti-fascist.
At one point, Oppenheimer did eventually become an anti-communist, but that's complicated.
But Teller was always on the right side with us on these issues.
Teller did something arguably even more powerful, literally, Oppenheimer is considered the founder of the atomic bomb,
the fission bomb, that was developed at Los Alamos.
And what Teller developed was the fusion bomb, the thermonuclear device, the hydrogen bomb, the H-bomb, the hell bomb, the
super bomb, which almost makes Hiroshima look like a firecracker, right?
Yeah, this is the debate in the movie that they said, tell us a crackpot.
He can't do that.
We're not going to waste time on your super bomb.
We're just going to build the fusion bomb.
We're going to build the A-bomb instead.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, and it was several years after that, and Harry Truman was the guy who was presented with the question.
I mean, the buck stops here, right?
Great decision maker, Harry Truman.
And he had to make the decision whether or not to pursue the super, the hydrogen bomb.
And this is kind of classic Truman, right?
Truman said, boys, I'll bring it down to one question.
Is Stalin trying to get it?
And they said, yes, sir.
We think so, sir.
He said, then develop it.
Yeah.
And so Teller was the guy that did that.
Teller developed the hydrogen bomb.
And the first time that we tested the hydrogen bomb, I think it was in 1952, the little island that the thing was tested on disappeared.
I mean, this thing was unbelievably powerful.
And thank God that that never had to be used.
But Teller was not only the guy who did that, Ronald Reagan as governor in 1967 visited Teller at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory to talk to him about the idea of using missiles or using bombs to shoot down other bombs, nuclear bombs.
And so this really began with Reagan through a discussion with Teller, the genesis of the idea that would eventually lead to SDI, the Strategic Defense Initiative.
And that in your article, you mentioned also the question of faith and Teller.
Yeah, so I interviewed him.
It was 20 years ago this summer.
I went back to my notes and looked it up last week and I thought, oh man, I've got to write on this.
And it was, I think, July 15, 2003.
I was out at Stanford and I was doing research on what became my first two Reagan books, right?
The Crusader and God and Ronald Reagan.
And he asked me, he said, so what is your book?
What's the first one called again?
And I said, God and Ronald Reagan.
I think I had a title yet for the second one.
And he said, what about God and Ronald Reagan?
And I said, well, you know, here's his faith.
And I started and he said, tell me more.
Tell me more.
And at first we started talking about God because he had on his book stand, Men Who Played God, the book about the founding of the hydrogen bomb, which he was reading.
It's a book about him, right?
And so we started talking about faith.
And I asked him, I said, do you mind me asking, what are your beliefs?
And he said, well, I'm Jewish.
He joked that he'd been Jewish his entire life, right?
But he didn't really have a faith.
And so I ended up talking to him for an hour and a half, and we kept coming back to faith over and over and over again.
We even talked about the double helix DNA, Watson and Crick.
And that led to a discussion about designer, creator.
And he would say things, Seb, like, I have said that I will not talk about things I do not fully understand.
You want me to talk about God?
I say, no, I will not.
And then five minutes later, he'd be talking about God.
And it turns out, in retrospect, he was 95 years old.
I could tell as soon as I walked in that room.
He was literally on his deathbed, and he died less than two months later.
So here is a man, kind of alone, by himself, Girona Road, Palo Alto, and it's all that power of the universe, men who played God.
It's just him and his Maker, and he's thinking about his Creator.
Or if there's a creator.
We're talking to Paul Kangor, the latest piece in American Spectator.

So one of your colleagues has written recently in American Spectator,
let's bring things up to date. This is George Parry's piece, Trump's third indictment is ludicrous.
I find this hard, I find it hard to get these words past my lips, Professor, but as the child of those who escaped communist dictatorship, my father liberated literally by the Freedom Fighters of 1956 from a Hungarian political prison.
Police, I never thought I'd say this, police state tactics have arrived in America.
What we are witnessing right now, the continued indictments incessantly, the armed raids of President Trump's home, the intimidation and arrests of those who worked for him or those who are, you know, public conservatives, this smacks of classic Marxist or even Maoist Do you concur that we've crossed the Rubicon in what is permissible in America today?
Well, it has a lot of people certainly thinking that way.
I saw, I think it last week, even Joe Rogan said something like that, how this is what happens in other countries where you pursue your political enemies, not just at the ballot box, right?
But you try to literally put them away.
You try to put them in prison.
And I think a lot of people thought that Maybe the first time they went after Donald Trump.
Okay, well, maybe there's something there and they need to investigate it and they need to figure it out.
But the way that it's gone on, as you put it, incessantly, it has people even from moderates, people in the middle, people who aren't conservatives, thinking that way.
I mean, one of the courses I teach at Grove City College, comparative politics, we spent a few weeks talking about North and South Korea.
I tell them about how the most recent president of South Korea, who was the daughter of Park way back in the 1960s, and the first female president of South Korea, she's in prison.
She's there for probably a long time.
We go through why and just see how political it is.
And you're really wondering, what did she really do wrong?
Wow, she's in prison for that?
How long?
How long are they going to keep her there?
And I think there's a sense of that with Donald Trump, too, that they're just doing this for political reasons to try to undermine him and try to make him not run again.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But part of it also makes me think that in a kind of Machiavellian way that the Democrats want to run against him.
I don't know.
But it's pretty shocking to see.
So do you buy that?
Because I'm not sure it's some kind of fourth dimensional Vulcan chess game that they want President Trump.
I look at the last 30 years.
Of the increasing radicalization of the Democrat Party.
I mean, the likes of Scoop Jackson or JFK would be excoriated.
They would be expelled from today's Democrat Party.
So I see, sadly, because we need two political parties to be functioning normally for us to have a republic.
I see a party that's driven by hatred and vituperation.
So for me, And of course, I'm biased.
I worked in the White House.
I was deputy to the president.
But I see a half of the political coterie who literally wants, to use a British phrase, the leader of the opposition in handcuffs and shackles and in an orange jumpsuit.
Do you not think this is just, you know, wanton political hatred?
Yeah, no, it is.
It is.
And if you look at like the historical sweep of it, I mean, with JFK, This would have never happened in 1960.
Now with Richard Nixon, with them getting Nixon, them meaning the liberals, the Democrats, getting Nixon to resign a disgrace.
As they did.
I mean, that was a turning point.
It really was.
And then Gerald Ford came in, pardon him.
The next Republican president, Ronald Reagan, who we've been talking about today, you know, Seb, they would have impeached Reagan if they could have.
Yeah.
And Iran-Contra was all about what Ed Meese and others, the Attorney General for the Reagan administration, called the criminalization of policy disputes.
Yes.
They would have impeached Reagan if they could have.
And they would have pursued, would have, they did pursue Reagan when Reagan got out of office.
I remember when, who was the attorney at Walsh, it was, right?
Who was questioning Reagan and the left made fun of Reagan because Reagan couldn't remember because Alzheimer's was approaching at that point, early 1990s.
So they pursued him.
And in Reagan's case, you had just somebody who was enormously popular.
He was reelected with 49 out of 50 states.
Right.
In Trump's case, Trump's obviously not as well liked, and the left really hates him.
So I do see historically this kind of escalation in the hatred and what they're willing to do—again, the left, liberals, leftists—in pursuit of their political opponents.
It's not just demonizing them with propaganda and what they say in the news, but they're at the point now where this guy, Donald Trump, they want him in handcuffs.
They want him behind bars.
How dangerous is that?
Because I think of Hungary where I lived for 15 years after the fall of communism and I saw that You know, 40 years of communism really destroyed the fabric of the functioning society.
Yes, it looked ostensibly like a democracy, but you scratched the surface and corruption was everywhere.
If you cross that line, if you think, you know, the Department of Justice is my pet pit bull, it's very hard to unwind that, isn't it, Professor, historically?
Yeah, no question about that.
And I think that's precisely the danger that we're going into right now.
Look, Republicans don't have it in them.
Conservatives don't have it in them, in their character and their nature, to go after their opponents on the left like this, right?
They're not going after Biden as ruthlessly on whatever issue as the Democrats did when Trump was in office.
And I know there are people on the left who are listening saying, well, that's because Donald Trump's guilty of all of these things.
No, step back, dude.
Step back.
Come on.
You know what's going on.
You know how political this is.
Again, you use the word incessantly.
It just doesn't stop.
And then they realize along the way that if you could get a jury for Trump in Manhattan or in DC, that's where you can convict them on almost anything.
Yeah, yeah.
No, it's truly stunning and something you're absolutely... I hear this all the time that, oh, sauce for the goose and the Republicans will do... No, the Republicans won't use the judicial system as a political weapon.
A. They shouldn't because then we have devolved and B. They're gutless wanders for the most part and as a result the idea that they'd weaponize the judiciary is anathema, which I guess is a good thing.

Let's get a little bit philosophical, Professor, if we may, for the last few minutes.
I think it was Vaclav Havel, it may have been Solzhenitsyn, but I think it was Havel, who told the story of the shopkeeper.
The one shopkeeper.
Who didn't count out to the regime, would not replicate the propaganda, and decided to tell the truth.
One man told the truth, and as such, the crack in the dike was affected.
And eventually the truth would spread and the whole system would collapse.
How important is it when you're facing an edifice, left-wing politics, Marxism, the new left, the Frankfurt schools, children, what have you, how important is it to always tell the truth and to remember that having courage can be infectious and you the individual can be catalytic in the face of all the lies?
Well, that's exactly how Ronald Reagan saw it.
In fact, Havel used the phrase, the communist culture of the lie, right?
And Lech Walesa said, too, that you basically could tell what was going on.
You had to read Pravda, you had to read the communist press, because that way you knew what their lies were, right?
That way you knew what the propaganda was.
And in so many of these countries, Walesa said their radio-free Europe was like the sun, as important as the sun.
To the people of Eastern Europe.
When they would turn on Radio Free Europe, which was being piped across the Iron Curtain, or in Cuba, right?
Voice of America, Radio Marti, some of these others.
And they would hear, yeah, they would hear broadcasters in America criticizing our own president, our own Congress.
And those folks just instinctively knew that they were listening to the truth.
They were listening to the sound of freedom.
Whereas you knew from the Soviet press almost everything that they were saying was a lie.
And so because of that, you know, Ronald Reagan said it was important to tell the truth.
Again, circling back to that evil empire speech.
And note the other side when you do that, including with a lot of hardcore leftists in the United States, they have this vampiric-like reaction, right?
Like you're bringing out the cross and holding it up.
The string of garlic.
Right, exactly.
They can't stand it.
What do they do?
They call you names.
Hey, Hitler!
Fascist!
Racist!
Homophobe!
They would have used that if they had in the Soviet Union in the 1980s.
They respond by calling you names and lashing out and hating and accusing you of hate.
But yeah, the truth will set you free.
Reagan had an entire commitment in the 1980s to try to tell the truth about the morality in the Cold War.
