| Can you tell us more about this study? | |
| Early in 2020, when COVID was first heating up, there was a lot of concern that people in jails that were crowded would get sick and die. | |
| The courts in California decided to implement a policy of We have zero bail, basically telling all 58 counties in California to release people automatically after they committed certain crimes. | |
| What our study has shown is they were reoffending at an astounding rate, committing over 163% more crime than people who posted bail and committing 200% more violent crime than people who posted bail. | |
| In fact, in many cases, within hours, of people being released from custody on zero bail. | |
| They were re-offending, committing new felony crimes. | |
| Sometimes they committed murder, attempted murder, robbery, sexual assault, domestic violence. |
