CDC Issues Alert Over Pfizer Shot Safety Signal, LAUNCHES Probe into Stroke Connection

Three short days ago, the CDC officially came out and they stated that according to the data that they were able to collect, an investigation must be opened up regarding the possible link, regarding the possible connection between the new formulation of the Pfizer vaccine and a potentially elevated risk of stroke in those above the age of 65.
Specifically, according to their statement, which you can see up on screen for yourself, the CDC cited the data that was coming from their real-time vaccine surveillance system And citing that data, here's what they wrote.
Following the availability and use of the updated, the bivalent COVID-19 vaccines, the CDC's Vaccine Safety Datalink, or VSD, a near-real-time surveillance system, met the statistical criteria to prompt additional investigation into whether there was a safety concern for ischomatic stroke in people ages 65 and older who received the bivalent Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
Essentially, in plain English, their initial review of the data that was coming out of their real-time surveillance system, it found that it might be the case that those who receive the updated formulation of the Pfizer vaccine might have an elevated risk of stroke shortly after the injection date.
Here is how the statement then continued.
Quote, Meaning,
Now, as you've likely noticed, this statement repeatedly makes mention of something called the bivalent vaccine, or the bivalent Pfizer-Biotech COVID this statement repeatedly makes mention of something called the bivalent vaccine, And in case you're not aware...
What's referred to as the bivalent vaccine is the newer formulation of the Pfizer shot, which includes both the original strain of the coronavirus, but then also, it includes a component of the Omicron variant as well, in order to, at least according to Pfizer's marketing materials, provide better protection against the Omicron variant of the virus.
Just for your reference, here is how the bivalent vaccine is explained over on the FDA's website.
And it's this new formulation that the statement from the CDC claims has potential risks in regards to safety.
Notably, the statement from the CDC is only talking in regards to the Pfizer vaccine, and they in fact specifically mentioned that they did not see the same preliminary signal in the Moderna shot, the updated Moderna shot that also uses a bivalent formulation.
Furthermore, the CDC also made a point to mention that the Vaccine Safety Datalink system did find this connection between the new Pfizer formulation and Ischematic Stroke, However, they said that other safety monitoring systems have apparently not.
And in their statement, they actually went and they listed five different systems, including the Medicaid database, the VA database, and the VAERS system.
The VAERS system is the joint system run by the CDC and the FDA, and apparently those systems have not seen the same connection.
Then, after making that particular point, the CDC then went on to write within their statement that people should not be worried, since it's, quote, Very unlikely that the signal in VSD represents a true clinical risk.
We believe it is important to share this information with the public, as we have in the past when one of our safety monitoring systems detects a signal.
The CDC and FDA will continue to evaluate additional data from these and other vaccine safety systems.
And then furthermore, despite this investigation, the CDC is not recommending any changes to their current vaccine protocols, at least at this time.
Meaning, what's in place, all the recommendations that they have in place, do not change.
Now in terms of the next step in this particular case, the CDC will conduct their stroke-related investigation and present their findings in a meeting with the FDA's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, and that meeting will be held on January 26th, which is exactly 10 days from today.
If you'd like to read the full statement from the CDC for yourself, I'll throw it down there into the description box below this video for you to check out, which is of course that description box right next to those like and subscribe buttons, both of which I hope you take a moment to smash.
However, since we're on the topic of vaccines generally, well, there's something else I would like to discuss, which has to do not with the vaccines themselves, but with the vaccine mandate.
You might already know that six days ago, the Secretary of Defense, Mr.
Lloyd Austin, he came out and he issued a memo rescinding the vaccine mandate for members of the U.S. military.
Now, that memo for Mr.
Lloyd Austin was not really surprising, given the fact that it came shortly after Congress passed a defense spending bill Which actually required that change to be made.
Basically, the vaccine mandate had to be scrapped.
However, the big question that's still hanging in the air to this very day is what will happen to the 8,400 service members, actually the over 8,400 service members, who were kicked out over the last year and a half.
For reference, those numbers include 3,300 Marines, 1,800 soldiers in the U.S. Army, 1,800 sailors in the U.S. Navy, as well as 900 airmen.
All of them being discharged for refusing to take the COVID vaccine.
What will happen to them?
Will they be reinstated?
Will the less-than-honorable discharge that they have on their records be expunged or changed?
And or will they be given back pay?
These are the three main questions that are still hanging in the air to this very day.
In terms of the first question, it's not yet clear whether these individuals will be reinstated by the U.S. military.
The Pentagon has not made any statements one way or the other.
And we here at the Epoch Times, we actually reached out to the Department of Defense in order to get clarification on this particular matter.
However, they have yet to get back to us.
Then, in terms of the second question, well, it appears that the US Pentagon is indeed open to You see, many of the service members, no matter which branch of the military it was, the ones who refused to take the shot were given a general discharge, which is a step below an honorable discharge, and it's generally given to troops who gave satisfactory service but had some kind of a minor misconduct.
But according to Mr.
Lloyd Austin, who is again the Secretary of Defense, he said that the Defense Department is indeed open to altering these people's records.
Specifically, within his memo, Mr.
Austin wrote that anyone who is discharged can file a petition with their branch of the military to request a change in the characterization of discharge in their personnel records.
Here's specifically what he wrote on this particular point.
For service members administratively discharged on the sole basis that the service member failed to obey a lawful order to receive a vaccine for COVID-19, the department is precluded by law from awarding any characterization less than a general under honorable conditions discharge.
Former service members may petition their military department's discharge review boards and boards for correction of military or naval records to individually request a correction to their personnel records, including records regarding the characterization of their discharge.
Although it is worth noting that while he said that these soldiers can make the petition, he didn't mention what possible corrections could be awarded.
Regardless, though, the last question is the question of back pay.
Will these 8,400 service members get reimbursed?
Well, the answer appears to be maybe.
That's because three days ago, we here at the Epoch Times reached out to the U.S. Pentagon in order to raise this exact question, and they responded to us by saying that it's something that they're currently deliberating.
Specifically, here's what the Pentagon representative told us here again at the Epoch Times.
The department is still exploring this and will provide its views on legislation of this nature at the appropriate time and through the appropriate process.
However, he did not offer any specific timetable on when the decision would be made.
And so, we'll just have to wait and see what they come back to us with.
If you'd like to read the entirety of the Pentagon's statements, including this memo right here, I'll throw all my links down into the description box below.
And also, I'd love to know your thoughts.
Do you think that the Pentagon should offer these service members their jobs back?
And should they be given back pay, now that the mandate has been rescinded?
Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
I'll be reading through them later this week.
