Whoopi Goldberg's claims that she was refused service by a New York City bakery due to her politics, but she ends up getting blown up when the bakery owner and local politician reveal what really happened.
We're uncovering this new development and so much more here on the Gateway Pundits We Can Review.
And we're back.
My name is Elijah Schaefer.
We have another installment of the Week in Review where we cover the top five stories of the last 24 hours.
Golem Leinbarger reports, watch as Whoopi Goldberg claims she was refused service by a New York City bakery.
What actually happened is quite different.
Here's the full story.
Far left, the view host Whoopi Goldberg has been busted for spreading a hoax to engender sympathy for herself following President Trump's historic victory last week.
On Wednesday's episode of The View, Goldberg and her co-host Sonny Hostin, Alyssa Farah, Griffin, Joy Behar, and Sarah Haynes celebrated her 69th birthday.
And Charlotte Roos cupcakes from a bakery, which Goldberg said were her mother's favorite growing up.
But what should have been harmless funds soon took an ugly turn when Goldberg alleged that her order was previously rejected by the bakery, later identified as Holterman's Bakery on Staten Island.
Now, I should tell you, Charlotte Roos has no political leanings, and the place has made these that refused to make them for me, Goldberg stated.
They said that their ovens had gone down, all kinds of stuff, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I'm not telling you who made them.
Goldberg went on to tell the audience the reason for the bakery rejected her order was because they did not like her politics.
Thinking that she had gotten away with a cheap smear, Goldberg concluded by thanking her fans and encouraging them to celebrate as well.
But that's okay because you know what?
Listen, this is my mother's celebration.
Pick these up and celebrate with me and my mom.
Thank you, everyone, for celebrating my birthday today, she said.
It's like funny how they always make everything about being a victim, right?
They refuse them, I don't know, because probably of my politics with no evidence at all.
Now, this would prove an unacceptable form of discrimination if true, but the bakery's owner, Jill Holderman, and Staten Island borough president Vito Vosella revealed during a press conference on Friday that Goldberg had perpetuated a sinister hoax.
Vosella explained that the real reason that Goldberg was blocked from buying the cupcakes from the 145-year-old business was due to the boiler issues and demanded Goldberg immediately apologize.
The people who defamed Holterman family should apologize to the Holterman family for making stuff up to suit their needs.
Vosella stated that they had a boiler.
It's been there 145 years.
They had a boiler that was 60 or 70 years old.
And the first week in November, guess what?
It went on the Fritz.
Check out, here is the response from the team explaining during a press conference that perhaps they were not being racist and that was not the original intention.

They were not too happy.
Watch.
unidentified
The bureau president is speaking.
Let's watch.
And I think the bottom line here is after we're going to call up Jill, who has had to endure something that she shouldn't have to endure.
These people are up at three or four o'clock every morning.
The sacrifices they've made, the holidays they've missed with their families to make Staten Island better, they have sacrificed for 145 years.
Rutherford B. Hayes was the president of the United States, for God's sakes.
And they're still here and they're still strong.
And they're not going anywhere despite what other people on television have to say.
And frankly, the people who defamed the Hultiman family should apologize to the Hultiman family for making stuff up to suit their needs.
Not everybody wakes up every day and thinks about politics.
A good business person doesn't care about anybody's politics.
So with that, I'd like to call up Jill Holter and Bowers.
She deserves 110% support.
Jill, come on.
It's a community that I have to tell you, I'm so overwhelmed by the support between finding out yesterday this even happened, getting phone calls, and then people coming in, people from all over, just supporting us in every way.
We had phone calls yesterday from Alabama.
Guys says, I'm going to give you $50.
Send it to a school.
Send them donuts.
Send them cupcakes.
The support has been so overwhelming.
And I know how hard my family has worked to keep this business alive.
And I wish my father was here today to see this.
He would never believe it.
My bakers come in two or three in the morning just to have donuts and rolls for everybody to come in and say, we have the best rolls ever.
And you know what?
It took my whole family.
It takes everybody, the community that comes every day to see us.
We have this everyday conversation with everybody.
How's the family?
How's this?
This is what makes Haltimans Holtemans.
It's the community.
It's my fellow everything that came out and us giving back to the community that makes this go round.
And if it wasn't for you and Staten Island to make this work, we still wouldn't be here today.
So I know my brother, Billy, work hard.
Joe, my baker in the back, is here six days a week.
He gives his heart and soul to this place.
And you know what?
My father always said you do what you love.
I'm telling you, this is my heart.
And I thank you so much for everybody come out and support us with the Holtiman family.
These people are so quick to want to be victims that they will ruin an entire family business.
It's been around for 150 years just so they can pretend that people refused it because they're black or because they're Democrats.
Yeah, Republicans are refusing service.
Republicans care about one thing mostly, and that's money, right?
I mean, that's, I'm not in a bad way.
I mean, it's the economy.
Like, they want to make their businesses are about making money and generating revenue.
It's not about discriminating.
Like, I don't know any Republican that would ever discriminate in their business.
It's like crazy.
I mean, unless you're religious or whatever, there might be, you might not want to do a gay wedding cake if you're a baker or something.
That's different, but then you be open about it.
But you're not going to secretly discriminate against a Democrat.
Anyway, Democratic Congressman openly reveals a plot to form shadow government, names individuals who could undermine every Trump cabinet member.
We have the video for you here from Patty McCurry.
It's radical.
The Democrats, once again, have decided that they are going to, instead of work with Trump, they are going to form a coup.
This is called sedition, by the way.
And typically in the American code, sedition is met with execution or death.
Of course, I'm not going to be promoting anything like that on the show, but I think people should be very careful because when you start talking about running a seditious government, you're actually committing a felony.
So you could at least go to prison at the very least.
This is what they try to get people for from January 6th with sedition.
This, my friends, is way worse than anything on January 6th.
Check this out.

If Trump attempts to weaponize the justice system against his political opponents with Matt Gates at the helm, we could see incoming Senator Adam Schiff as our shadow attorney general arguing against replacing our independent prosecutors with Trump loyalists.
If Trump seeks to eliminate the Department of Education, Congresswoman Johanna Hayes, a former teacher of the year, could step up as shadow education secretary to loudly defend public education in the United States.
If Trump orders Marco Rubio to hand Ukraine and much of Eastern Europe to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Congressman Greg Meeks as shadow Secretary of State could be a strong voice in support of maintaining international relationships and protecting democracy at home and abroad.
Senator Michael Bennett as shadow Treasury Secretary and Congresswoman Susan Delbene as shadow commerce secretary could help ensure the middle class and small businesses have a voice in government and call out Trump's proposed tax cuts for billionaires and corporations.
As shadow defense secretary, Congressman Adam Smith, a great representative for the people of Washington and not a Fox News host, could counter Trump's threat to use military force against his political opponents and work to ensure that the Department of Defense stays loyal to the Constitution and not some wannabe dictator.
And Senator Tammy Duckworth could argue against cuts to the Department of Veterans Affairs that would delay the benefits and care our service members have so rightly earned.
If Trump hands over the EPA to big oil ally Lee Zeldon, we could see Congresswoman Kathy Castor pushing back for environmental protection and conservation to protect the air we breathe and the water we drink.
And if Trump pushes to ban abortion nationwide, Congresswoman Rosa DeLoro could step in as shadow Secretary of Health and Human Services to defend women's right to choose and argue against the gutting of Medicare by Trump and his cronies.
Mr. Speaker, new times require new solutions.
The shadow cabinet isn't just about opposing extreme MAGA attacks on our government.
It's also about making clear what we stand for, not just what we're against.
That doesn't sound like something that I want to be involved in, and I don't think anyone should be involved in that because that could end up putting you in prison or you could end up being put to death, honestly, for trying to coup a government.
I mean, I don't think we would really go that far as a United States government, but I do think these people will go to prison, right?
So we've got to be very careful on this sort of seditious sort of stuff, especially after they're accusing Trump supporters of undermining the election.
The last one, this entire time is ridiculous.
Anyways, never Trump, Mike Rogers for FBI director, well, Senator Rand Paul called Mike Rogers the worst deep state candidate and never Trumper after he mocked Trump for questioning the 2020 election said that he clearly provoked January 6th.
So far, President Trump's choices to fill vacancies in his administration have been stellar.
Unfortunately, President Trump learned the hard way that what happens when you trust and loyalty are not at the top of the list of qualifications for candidates he chooses to interact with him and members of his cabinet regularly.
Today marks the first day that Trump supporters find themselves scratching their heads over the potential selection of former U.S. Representative and FBI special agent Mike Rogers, who recently ran for U.S. Senate in Michigan as a Republican as the potential FBI director.
Although Trump won the state of Michigan after days of counting, the very unpopular former CIA analyst and former U.S. Representative Elisa Slotkin was called the winner of the race by a very slim margin.
Instead of questioning how it was possible that President Trump did so well in Michigan, yet he lost by a small margin after days of counting in a state with nine days of early voting, Rogers conceded almost immediately without even so much as a whimper.
Now, going down in 2020, Rogers mocked President Trump for questioning the election results.
Did Rogers know something the rest of us didn't?
Is it possible that Trump had already discussed making Mike Rogers the next FBI director if he lost, or did he simply not have the will to fight?
Or would Rogers put up the fight over the late night ballot counting in the same counties as in 2020 and make him a hypocrite, considering how he trashed President Trump in a Detroit news op-ed only weeks after the highly controversial 2020 election?
Mike Rogers said this that President Donald Trump's attempts to influence the electoral process in Michigan and elsewhere is cause for both concern and alarm and should be roundedly rejected by both Democrats and Republicans alike.
By attempting to use the toppings of Oval Office to in trappings of Oval Office to influence state officials, he is violating norms of behavior and setting a dangerous precedent for the future.
You can read the whole thing there.
He said he lost the election and not just in Michigan, that we're able to hold an election in the middle of a global pandemic is something worth celebrating.
State and local officials should be receiving much-deserved applause for organizing and conducting the vote, enabling our democracy, upholding the law, and counting every ballot.
You know, I've been at a lot of these events.
I was at Joe Biden's acceptance when he came out to accept winning the election.
I was there in Delaware.
And I remember nobody showed up.
Not a single person showed up.
And no one showed up to his inauguration either.
And they said it was because of the pandemic.
So in order to prove that he won and they didn't want him to look unpopular, he literally accepted in a parking lot in Delaware, which no one even goes to Delaware, right?
People in Delaware don't even want to live there.
I'm sorry.
No one wants to live in Delaware.
Delaware sucks.
And it was a parking lot.
They let in like 30 cars.
So you could only, and you had to stay in your car.
So they had like a car meet, and everyone hunked their horns.
And I thought we were living in a dystopian nightmare.
I was like there.
I was like, we are the most powerful country in the world, like one of the top largest countries in the world.
And we have a car meetup for the president accepting his invite.
And then in the inauguration, they said because of January 6th, they couldn't allow anyone.
So they stuck pictures.
Remember that with sticks in the grass and had a fake audience?
I don't know if anyone remembers this.
And I was like, yeah, this guy's not the president of the United States.
There's no absolute way this guy won.
They've fixed it so that every time this guy goes out in public, no one shows up to celebrate.
I don't think anyone voted for him.
And then there were 15 million less votes in this election.
And Trump got more votes in this election than he got in the last one, but like a similar amount.
And he lost by like a huge margin last time.
Something seems very, very fishy to me.
Anyway, I want to remind you guys something cool.
So, you know, there's a large retail store out there, and it's called, well, I can't give the name, but I can tell you this.
They actually did do political persecution unlike Whoopi Goldberg, and they canceled their huge order of MyPillows from Mike Lindell because they wanted to hurt him because he's a Trump supporter.

That being said, Molly Hemingway smacks down Rhino Trey Gowdy with a brilliant response after he smears Trump's attorney, General Pick, Matt Gates, as corrupt.
Well, Donald Trump campaigned with a pledge that he would root out corruption at the Department of Justice and throughout the intelligence agencies, that he would secure our borders, return us to being a nation with borders, and to fix the failed foreign policy of the Biden administration.
His picks are showing that he is very serious about that.
But even more than that, I think they show what a transformational president he's setting out to be here.
It's not, you know, there are four years to go.
We'll see how much he's able to accomplish with a frequently hostile, entrenched, sclerotic, permanent Washington, D.C.
But he has big goals and big vision and a feeling that there's something that's just been wrong with our country for a while.
And we need to return to that glory of self-governance where we don't have really corrupt agencies hurting the country, stopping people from being able to produce.
Trey, you know, I had Senator Thune on, the incoming Senate Majority Leader, yesterday.
And he basically said, listen, it's not going to be easy.
Some of these picks are not going to be easy to get through.
But there is this mandate just by the vote that there is a feeling that Republican senators in particular, most of them, want to give the president what he wants.
Yeah, the overwhelming majority of his picks will sail through because they were grand slam picks.
But to Molly's point, you don't root out corruption at the Department of Justice by picking a corrupt person to lead it.
So Matt Gates, either the report comes out and he's not going to be the Attorney General, or the report doesn't come out and he's not going to be the Attorney General.
I mean, the problem, Bret, is all the good picks, John Lee Radcliffe, Elise Stefanik, Lee Zeldon, Mike Walsh, all the good pics, nobody's talking about those right now.
They're talking about this wild-card pick of someone who had to get out of the House to avoid being sanctioned by the House Ethics Committee.
That dumbfounding pick is just sucking the oxygen out of all the good ones he made.
You are referring to the situation with the report in the House Ethics Committee.
Johnson puts the kibosh on the Gates report.
This is politico.
Trump announced his AG intentions.
Gates promptly resigned his seat, which in the normal course of affairs would end the ethics probe.
But keep this in mind, the report exists.
Senators examining the nomination want to see it, and it will remain a proverbial sword dangling over Gates' head so long as he's up for confirmation or serving as the nation's top law enforcement officer.
unidentified
Here's the back and forth on that.
Yeah, I've only expressed my opinion that we should stick to the tradition.
Do not release a report on a former member of the House because it would open a dangerous Pandora's box.
There's precedent for that.
I can't really get into what's going on now, but the fact that someone has left the Congress does not mean that the report can't be released.
You got the Senate seeking the information so that they can meet their constitutional obligations.
Matt Gates was nominated for this position because we have a problem with the Department of Justice.
For the last eight years, they have run roughshod over rule of law in this country.
They have prosecuted political opponents.
They ran the Russia collusion hoax.
And too many people in Washington, D.C. did not stand up against what was happening there.
And many Americans are upset about it.
Matt Gaetz is one of the most effective people at fighting that Russia collusion hoax and other information operations, whether it was the Brett Kavanaugh information operation, the Donald Trump Russia collusion hoax information operation, or the one that is referenced here, which is something that the FBI and Department of Justice, which hate Matt Gaetz, looked into and cleared him of any wrongdoing.
The idea that this is about the issue is corruption.
It's the Department of Justice's corruption.
And people are sick and tired of people in Washington, D.C. doing nothing as these people tried to destroy the country and getting upset at someone who actually might root out the corruption there.
