You join their cheer, but you can't make out your own voice above the din.
And now you're not even sure what it is they're chanting.
But you know their words are not your own.
You look up at the nearest television monitor, and there it is.
That awful, orange, face.
Welcome back to The Slightly Offensive Show, with your favorite host, me, Elijah Shaffer.
I just read in the comments the other day that somebody took what I said seriously, which we probably shouldn't do a lot of the time, but they said, really?
Come on, my favorite host?
I mean, I like your stuff.
It's good, but you're not my favorite host.
Well, you know what?
You're not my favorite commenter.
Today's show is really good.
It's actually amazing because we're going to make a case of why Trump is going to win the 2020 elections.
Now, this is not a partisan bias perspective of saying that Trump's the best person for America, necessarily in all cases, or that we are hoping for this because we're blinded by our own intrinsic bias towards the Republican Party.
To be quite honest, I'm not a huge fan of the Republican Party myself.
I think they're just as much to blame for a lot of the problems in America as the Democrats.
And to be honest, most Republicans who are establishment candidates are actually just rhinos.
For those of you that don't know, it means Republican in name only.
Now, to be honest, if you love what you're hearing, but you don't have time to watch, make sure that you like, share, subscribe, but also check the links down below for audio-only versions of the podcast currently available on iTunes and Spotify.
Let's jump right into this.
So, Trump, right?
That name automatically brings up a feeling in people.
To some people, it brings anger, other people, it brings frustration, but of course, to others, it brings hope, enlightenment, and an idea of having faith in America's future.
However, we find out that those feelings of elation that often are a part of a huge majority of this country, there are forces at work that are showing signs that they too do not realize that America is going to vote for Trump.
Again, none other than our favorite victim and perpetrator of this anti-Trump ideology, which is the liberal media.
Now, before I just continue to shoot a dead horse, I don't want to bring up any perspectives about the liberal media that you know.
Of course, we know that mainstream outlets are against the Trump campaign and like to demonize anybody who thinks that Trump is anything less than the devil himself.
However, what we're finding out is that as you saw in 2016, polls everywhere counted on DT for losing.
I think it was right before the election that MSNBC and BuzzFeed were saying that Trump only had a 1 to 6% chance of winning.
Of course, not only were economists, lecturers, politicians, professors, and the entire media establishment completely incorrect about the voting bloc and the decisions of the American people, but of course, they still aren't learning.
And that's the problem with establishment institutions.
It's not the fact that they can't make mistakes, because you know what?
Everybody changes their mind every once in a while.
But the liberals still aren't learning.
And why do I know this?
Because our favorite news network, CNN, which is basically reliable for being unreliable, just released a statement saying, what happens if Donald Trump refuses to admit he lost in 2020?
See, I don't know what Donald Trump is going to do if he refuses to lose, but I can think of one candidate of what they might say when they refuse to have lost.
You know, I kind of miss Hillary and falling down the stairs, her wearing those hospital gowns and $12,000 Armani pantsuits that look like she stole them out of the closet of Kim Jong-un.
Believe it or not, Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election, and the liberal media still doesn't understand that the American people are probably going to turn out in droves for Trump in 2020.
Yet, as we speak, they continue to push the narrative that Trump will probably lose.
Why haven't they learned from the fact that just trying to say that Trump will lose is not enough to actually make him lose the election?
But I'll tell you what.
If you thought that the left-wing media was out of touch with the American voter, my case here is that we can't trust what is actually being produced in the media to determine what's going to happen in the election.
That's a sad thing, because I would like to think that we could look to the news as an indicator of what's actually going on in our country.
But to be quite frank, I've come to the conclusion through much evidence, experience, and facts that the media outlets actually are an indicator of pretty much the opposite of what's going to happen politically.
Saying things like, Biden has a real chance against Donald Trump when he can barely turn out 600 55-year-old plus Denny's discount voters.
Okay, there is nothing wrong with people being old and a voter, but to be honest, if you can't even turn out a single young person in your high school gym to launch your campaign, I don't think you're launching anything except for a failure.
Biden is like the erectile dysfunction of the politically 2020 candidates.
But honestly, it gets worse.
With Trump doing so much good in the country, I know he's done some things wrong.
He said some very foolish things, and I would agree that the media could light him up about those very small nuances.
But of course, we get an awesome declaration from CNBC which stated that more Americans are likely to oppose Trump in the 2020 elections because of his handling of health care, a poll says.
You really think that Trump's going to lose in 2020 because of his handling of health care?
A poll says.
I know of a poll that says that some women like to be strippers, a different kind of poll, but that doesn't indicate that all women like to strip.
At least not in front of the wrong people.
But apparently these people, these pollsters at these companies, honestly believe that health care is what's going to cause Trump to lose.
This is why you kind of see that maybe he's going to win.
Because they can't actually indicate any real factors of why he's going to lose.
So what they do is they realize that smearing doesn't exactly work.
It didn't stop him.
Misinformation didn't help.
So now they're pulling up bogus polls, unreasonable and unimportant factors, and then introducing candidates that honestly probably can't even win over the favor of their own family, let alone the favor of the country.
I mean, this, we have a gay candidate who says that America was never as great as advertised.
Won't say his name because I'm not homophobic.
We also have a candidate who talks about the right to take away arms from people.
Yes, I'm talking about you, Spartacus, who can't even describe a gun accurately.
We have a woman named Kamala Harris who wants to run the country but can't even manage her own state.
Yeah, we're not looking at the brightest.
Donald Trump was right.
They're not sending their best.
But it's not just the campaign of the media and the elitist establishment that is a sign that they don't have anything against Trump, which makes me believe that he's going to win, but it's his accomplishments themselves that stand the test of time.
Donald Trump's accomplishments actually are far greater than I could have ever hoped for or imagined.
I actually voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 election because I believed in him and what he stood for.
But I didn't even think personally, and I'll admit to this, that he was going to be able to accomplish as much as he said that he would.
I don't really believe any political candidate, whether insider or outsider, but Donald Trump has put to shame, really, the doubts in the American people.
Of course, this is why people are trying to distract away from the truth and push more into the fictional narrative.
Whether it's from jobs to defense to law and order, Donald Trump's track record proves itself.
And that's where I want to begin.
Let's take a look at all the areas where Donald Trump has not only been successful, but the American people have largely benefited.
Of course, the biggest and the first being jobs.
Jobs are not only important for the American people, they are important for the entire world because as America goes, so does the rest of the world.
Now, jobs.
There's been four to five million new jobs created since Trump took office.
More Americans are employed than ever before in history.
Do you realize how insane that sounds?
It's true.
There's actually, I think, something more like, I think, 100,000 more jobs available in the country at some point than there are people able to fill them if you include transnational organizations and global positions.
Additionally, unemployment is at a 50-year low.
Minority unemployment hit a record low.
Disabled Americans are working more than ever.
Nothing says Donald Trump hates disabled people, like the media said in the very beginning as he mocked somebody who had a cognitive disorder, like making sure that disabled people are provided for, have purpose, and a reason to wake up every day.
Additionally, 60% of people had a pay increase this year, whether it was minimal or substantial, and 400,000 manufacturing jobs returned to the country.
I don't remember where I famously heard in the last few years that those jobs could never come back to the country.
For those folks who've lost their job right now because a plant went down to Mexico, you know, that isn't going to make you feel better.
And so what we have to do is to make sure that folks are trained for the jobs that are coming in now, because some of those jobs of the past are just not going to come back.
American optimism is at an all-time high because we know China's gaining jobs, China's gaining income, but people in China don't seem like they're very happy.
I don't know whether it's the fact that China is honestly a communist, pretty much neo-communist country that sort of suppresses the happiness and the pleasure of its citizens behind the point to make them be focused on progress and social unity.
But in America, we are not about that.
And so we got to say, well, are our citizens happy?
And yeah, they are.
And so are our business owners, with 95% of manufacturers feeling optimistic about the future of the country and the highest level of Americans in two decades, 51%, seeing that this country is moving in a good direction.
I think that's pretty good.
On top of that, American businesses have reinvested $450 billion just in 2018 alone back into the country that were previously put into foreign investments, which means that Americans are even seeing America as being a better investment than other countries, which is huge and is a good predictor for where we're headed.
Regulation.
A lot of you don't like regulation, and you know the stat here.
But Trump's administration has removed 22 pieces of regulation for every one piece that they've instituted, which means that he actually is shrinking the government.
So for those that were true conservatives and Republicans that were afraid of Trump growing the government, realistically speaking, he's actually not in terms of regulation specifically.
Tax cuts.
There's $5.5 trillion worth of tax cuts.
And I hate the myth which says that the tax cuts went to businesses.
Yes, some of the tax cuts went to businesses, of course, 40%.
But over 60% of that money is going to see itself back in the pockets of American families.
And you can fact check me on that one.
They've also done that by doubling the deductions for American families.
So, of course, our favorite Lord and Savior, Alyssa Milano, famously said that Americans are receiving less money back in their tax returns.
Yes, Alyssa, that's because we are spending less in taxes, so we don't get as much back.
We're not wasting as much in unnecessary taxes.
Unless, of course, you still live in California, where up north of me, just about 10 minutes, gasoline is at $5.29 per gallon.
Yes, you heard me right, and where I have to pay an additional $9 a month tax just to lease a vehicle in the city of Los Angeles because they don't want any more cars.
We also have worker development.
Trump signed the pledge to America Workers, retaining 4.1 jobs in the United States.
We have domestic infrastructure.
Donald Trump is creating the $200 billion federal fund to spur at least $1.5 trillion of investment by private companies into infrastructure.
Healthcare, he also signed the legislation to improve national suicide hotline.
I don't mean to joke about suicide, but I'm sure that after his election and seeing the way that crazy, unstable, drug-addicted, and obviously jobless Americans reacted to his election, he needed to invest in the suicide hotline because the next thing that people did after breaking cameras like our staff is probably actually to take their own lives.
Trump cares about his enemies because honestly, people who are successful working, making money, and having families, the kind of people that voted for Donald Trump, probably aren't taking their lives.
But of course, he sees the need to affect Americans even that don't love him, which is important for every president who sits in this country.
He also signed the right to try legislation, which helps cancer victims, because nothing says that you are the devil more than helping people who are dying from cancer.
I mean, my mom herself is going through experimental treatment that wouldn't have previously likely been available under the Obama administration, but she has the right to try.
She flies all the way to South Carolina every single month to receive a treatment that actually has extended her life, I believe, by months, if not years.
Additionally, not only is my mom a recipient of this ability to try experimental drugs, but my producer's father wasn't so lucky because he lived in an era where there wasn't access to experimental drugs like AZT, which fights HIV during the time of his infection.
Now, of course, he wasn't a homosexual.
He wasn't even promiscuous.
He just happened to be a hemophiliac, right?
Isn't that, yeah, exactly.
And so he was infected in a botched blood transfusion, which left him unable to not only access the drugs he needed, but left eventually a widowed wife and three young kids.
Now, of course, that being said, we have to realize that the policies of a president really do affect the country.

Border security and immigration.
This is where a lot of right-wingers like to get angry at Donald Trump and say, you didn't do your job.
I don't know what else he could be doing to try to secure money to build a border.
I honestly give him the credit.
I'm surprised he went as far as he did to stonewall and to try to push for financing for what he promised, but he did secure at least $1.6 billion for a wall.
And we have to look at the fact that he's not just building a wall to keep people out.
He's building a wall to filter who comes in.
Right?
He's building a wall with a bigger wall and a smarter gate.
There's a big difference.
And a wall really isn't exactly a wall like we're thinking like a prison.
It's just a wall to make sure that we're protecting who's inside and we don't let in any bad ombres.
Because you know what?
I know people don't want to believe this.
There's a lot of bad people out there in the world.
And if you don't believe there's bad people, you're probably a bad person.
Sorry to say it.
But I know as an American, I'm very careful to realize that we have a lot of bad people already in this country and we don't need more.
But as somebody who supports immigration, being the person I'm espoused to as an immigrant, and I've worked hard to get them into this country, I'm not opposed to people coming in.
Neither is Donald Trump.
And what he doesn't want is people to stay out.
He just wants the right people to come in.
Huge difference.
He's also renegotiated trade, which has brought jobs back into America, dismantled the TPP, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, renegotiated NAFTA with Canada and Mexico to bring jobs back out of manufacturing positions in countries that were not giving us the credit and the opportunities we needed, and bringing them back into very economically depressed areas like Detroit.
He has helped remove roadblocks for the Keystone pipeline to allow the United States for the, I believe, one of the first time in many years to become the largest manufacturer of natural gas and oil in the entire world.
That's huge.
Suck on that, Saudi princes.
He's also helped with foreign policy, moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, withdrew the Iran deal, and had a historic North Korean summit with Kim Jong-un, who looks very similar to Hillary Clinton.
Besides the smaller eyes and slightly puffier cheeks, he looks like he's always on a permanent hangover, right?
You know what I'm talking about?
A couple beers in, you wake up.
I don't know what happens.
After you're like 24 years old, your face just puffs up.
Well, Kim Jong-un actually spends over $600,000 on imported cognac.
Didn't even know that, did you?
But yeah, everyone's mad at Trump because he hasn't solved world peace yet.
Do you remember when Trump was in office, they said he was going to cause World War III?
They actually set the doomsday clock backwards.
But even then, he's actually pushed negotiations with North Korea further than they've ever been in the history of the nation since the post-Korean war.
You know, if Hillary Clinton had been in office, I can guarantee we would already be at war with Russia.
Okay, the Clintons love war.
They love the military-industrial complex.
I've never seen a president like Donald Trump get negative press for rescinding troops from battles overseas or for scaling back wars.
Trump is literally trying to pull us out of wars and he's getting yelled at for that.
I think that's a positive foreign policy.
Additionally, he's also increased our defense with over $708 billion put to bolstering our military.
And people wonder, well, why do we need a big military?
Why don't we invest in education?
It's true, we should invest more in education.
Of course, that being that we actually fix our education system, to start educating people.
But it's because this.
If you have such a big military and you keep it strong, you don't allow anybody else to gain power in the world the same way you do, which gives you the ultimate say-so.
There's never been a country or nation or kingdom in the history of the world with as much power as the United States of America that has used it so sparingly and in such discretion.
Of course, yes, we have mistakes, we make mistakes, we do wrong things from time to time, like any country would with fallen people.
But of course, keeping our military strong is just as important to the framework of this country as the Constitution itself, being that we are in the age of nuclear warfare and we need to stay strong so our enemies remain weak.
In the end, Donald Trump is going to win in 2020, most likely, not only because the media is losing its ability to find anything against him, but his track record is showing for itself, but also we're seeing even private companies like tech companies begin to come against conservatives in a last attempt to silence critics and the people who might be responsible for helping get Trump elected.
All right, we welcome to the show with us today, Austin Fletcher from Flecka's Talks.
You might know him from his YouTube videos or seen some of his famous merchandise like John from the Overpass, some of which he's wearing right now.
So, Austin, brought you here today because you obviously had a time in your life where you voted for Barack Obama.
You used to be a liberal, but then you switched and you voted for Donald Trump in the last election.
And so the thing that we're going to focus on today is: I think Trump is going to win in 2020.
And I want to start by asking your opinion: do you think the same thing?
I thought hope and change, first black president, this is our guy.
America's not racist anymore, is what we need.
But like a lot of people, I went from left to right politically.
I went from left to right when it comes to my political views.
And it's simply because I really had no idea what I was talking about.
And before, when I was in college, I just assumed politics was bigots versus the non-bigots.
It's, you know, I'm not an old, rich white person who's super religious.
I'm like a young, progressive, smart kid who's not racist.
I'm a Democrat.
And that's where I think the problem is right now.
I think a lot of people kind of fall into that same trap.
And with so much information out there, so much transparency out there, it's hard to justify being ignorant at this point.
Like years ago, before social media, it was kind of easier to not participate, not read newspapers, not watch news.
But now with so much information out there and how much politics has merged with entertainment and media in general, it really is hard to avoid the truth at this point.
And I think it's funny that you pointed out, though, that you supported Barack Obama because I think even if people supported him, there was enough votes obviously to get him into office.
But the promise was that he was going to bring hope and change.
And so a lot of people voted for him.
Eight years down the road, the black community was basically worse off than it had ever been.
Obviously, the whole mainstream media is against him.
The entire establishment's against him.
And he made a lot of promises.
And by this point, as a country, we don't trust a president or a future president or candidate saying that they're going to make a change because we just watched the failed regime.
Okay, but a couple years into this, my take is that Trump's doing a pretty good job.
How do you think he's done so far?
And do you think that his actual performance specifically is going to lead to another win in 2020?
I do think what he's done so far will lead to a victory in 2020.
And I think the reason the stakes are so high and people are so divided is because going into the 2016 election, the media created a monster of Donald Trump.
Before he ran for president, he was in rap songs.
He was like a famous celebrity.
Everyone wanted to go to his parties.
They wanted to be on his shows.
He was well received and well liked by everyone.
He was a legend.
unidentified
Resurrection of the real time to get richer than Trump.
But I take over the world when I'm on my Donald Trump.
It's an idea for a video, kind of similar to like Crowder's Change My Mind in a way, where you can kind of get involved and do it yourself, but a little easier to do.
Trump's not that bad is basically just that.
I'm not saying he's the best.
I'm not saying he's the worst.
I just want to talk to whoever will talk to me on college campuses, at protests, wherever, and say, can you agree with me that there's certain things Donald Trump has done that are undeniably good?
And it brings up a good point, though, because right now, from the very beginning, the left has focused on first keeping Trump out of office.
And now that he's in, I haven't heard really any complaints about what Trump has done.
It's always been his rhetoric is unprofessional.
His tweets are annoying.
His marriage and the way that he allegedly cheated on his wife, these are all why he's a bad guy, which is so interesting because in the United States, right, we look at the morality of a person as well as their policy.
But of course, for the left being about separation of church and state, the idea of religious autonomy and secular autonomy, the idea of being able to live the way you want to, my body, my choice, do what I want.
Why do they care about Trump's moral choices?
Why do they care about the things that he's done?
I mean, they should be the ones supporting a rich guy who has sexual liberty and does whatever he wants.
And suddenly, when it comes down to it, they sound like the conservatives because they're the ones that are like mocking the president.
Meanwhile, he's being so successful.
And to me, it's like, like you said, we got to show the people that this guy is just almost, even though he's a billionaire.
He's just a normal guy.
He made mistakes, but he's actually, he lost income.
He lost over a billion dollars of net worth.
And so I'm more concerned.
I know a lot of people are, not about his tax returns and all these random things.
I'm more concerned about the tax returns of people like Nancy Pelosi, who, you know, makes six figures only, but she has a seven-figure net worth.
How do you become a, how do you get a seven-figure net worth?
So it's like with Donald Trump, the question is then, how do we actually go about convincing people to vote for him in 2020 if that's the best decision?
I think it is, it's kind of, it's a daunting task to bait a leftist and kind of try to convince them to come around.
And my theory has been when you engage with a radical leftist or an Antifa type or someone who's just really, really never going to come around to Trump, when you engage with them, as long as you approach them rationally and you're fair and you say things and you frame things correctly, maybe they'll never come around and agree with us.
But the people watching, they'll decide.
And they'll say, you know what, I don't really know much about politics.
Maybe I should know more.
I don't know where I stand, but I'm definitely not that lady saying Donald Trump is worse than Hitler.
And once we get enough of those, people are going to start waking up.
And the good news is the political spectrum has shifted so far that if you're anywhere to the right of Ellen DeGeneres, you're now a right-wing person.
So all it really takes is to find some common ground with the average person who doesn't even know or care about politics, the person I was five years ago, and just say, hey, can we agree on this?
Can we agree on this?
Can we agree on this?
And once they do, now the mobs don't want something to do with them.
They'll be disavowed by the mob and they'll be political refugees.
And that's why we need, we just need to light these fuses all over the country.
You know, I myself, like, I felt like not that I was in a dark place, but I was living in the world of chaos and confusion.
I wasn't paying attention to the news.
I was being manipulated by media and politicians and corporations without really understanding what was going on and how it was all working.
And once I woke up to politics, it was just like I couldn't go back.
I went down the rabbit hole.
I realized I'd been lied to on such a grand scale.
And it was my obligation to find out what the truth was and to help people who are in a similar situation to me now or in the future.
So that's kind of what, that's why I started Trump's Not That Bad.
I want to encourage kids to go out there, talk to people, bridge the gap.
And if it's hard to debate and you can't really, if maybe someone gets it and they have a good point, just say, yeah, you're right.
I think there was a big effort from, and there was some spillover.
So I think there was a big effort from the Trump, the Trump base to bring in some of the Bernie people at the end of 2016.
And there were some Bernie people that could get in line with the populist views of Trump.
And I think the left, they're going to run probably an establishment candidate.
And their number one priority is going to be, I'm not Trump.
We're against Trump.
We'll get Trump out of here.
Which is unfortunate because they have no real ideas of their own.
The only thing they can do is tear down what exists already, which is very similar to the leftist ideology in general.
I think they're going to run an establishment candidate and people like Andrew Yang or even Tulsi Gabbard, they might run independent.
And I think I worry about that because all it really takes is like 3% to 5% from Trump's people to go to that independent candidate to make it a really close race.
So I think that Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard, people like that would be a great thing for Democrats in the future.
I hope that's who they run in 2024.
And there's some candidates, those two candidates are people I could really consider and give a fair shake to.
But right now, if they run independent, it will make the race a lot closer than it should be.
He stole the vote, and then we had this determination where we lost a Republican seat.
But of course, getting Trump into office is not just about getting a Republican in, because quite frankly, I think most of the next generation of, especially Generation Z, the upcoming generation, realizes that the name of your party doesn't mean anything.
It's the policies that you put into place.
We've had plenty of Republican presidents who have done no better than Democrat presidents.
But Donald Trump is somebody who seems like an outsider coming in and he's trying his best.
I mean, shoot, he's doing everything that he said he would do.
And it's almost like annoying and shocking to find that there's a president actually trying to accomplish what they're setting out to do, which again is kind of why we do what we do.
So if you have convictions and if you agree, if you disagree, if you think somebody else has a better chance of winning, make sure you like, share, and subscribe this video.
