What is your take on what is happening right now in Chicago?
You're also the editor-in-chief of the City News Bureau.
Give us the latest on the ground.

First of all, thank you for the Charlie Kirk Bounce Bump here.
Since our last show, I've been named Editor-in-Chief of the City News Bureau, so I'm good news, bad news all over the place today, this week.
Last night, we were out with the CPD, essentially, for the protest, the first And I got a chance to talk to the superintendent of police, Larry Snelling, who by all accounts is a great guy.
He's been great to me, and we can talk about that another time.
He's a phenomenal guy, but here's the problem, Charlie.
There's always a problem in Chicago, you gotta know.
He's a political appointee.
He serves at the leisure of the mayor, Mayor Johnson, who has more in common with the protesters So I've heard, obviously we're covering the mayor, we're following him very closely.
He says that he is in constant communication with the leaders of the protests.
He knows them, he's got their cell phone numbers.
He's cutting deals with them.
And so I asked, Superintendent Snelling, and I'll be posting this at William J. Kelly on AXN, as soon as we're done, Charlie, okay?
I got one thing at a time.
And I asked him, I said, look, does this deal that the mayor of the city of Chicago is coming with protesters, okay, who have come here to protest the DNC, does that involve a stand-down order?
And Superintendent Snelling would not answer that question, Charlie.
So can you give us more details into this kind of buddy-buddy relationship that you're kind of articulating here?
I saw some of the protests, the Hamas protests, they're not yet in the number or the scale that we were told.
I drove by them, there was maybe a couple thousand people, but tomorrow I'm told it's going to heat up and heat up and heat up.
Tell us more William J. Kelly.
Well, you know, Charlie, in all seriousness, you know, and I'm not a Chicago basher.
I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago.
I love Chicago with all my heart.
I want to, for the record, okay?
It breaks my heart to see what's happening here.
A Democrat judge, an Obama appointee, Do we have a lowest common denominator here?
I think it's all Democrat, right?
So here's the deal though, okay?
It appears to me, okay, as somebody who's been following dirty, dirty Chicago corrupt politician deals, you know, as a reporter, just to be clear, my entire life.
I can tell you right now, this smells of a dirty, dirty Democrat deal.
It sounds to me like Mayor Johnson has cut a deal with the protesters, okay?
And I even asked Superintendent Snelling yesterday, and like I said, I've got it on camera.
You know, if I don't have it on camera, Charlie, I think you know this probably better than anybody.
If it's not on camera, you know, you gotta have it on camera, otherwise nobody would believe it, right?
If for no other reason than to protect yourself, Superintendent Snelling, who I love, said that I asked him, will the mayor throw you under the bus if anything goes south?
Uh, is there a stand down order?
He wouldn't answer.
Uh, that tells me that there is a, uh, that there's some kind of dirty deal going on here between the mayor of the city of Chicago and the protesters, the Antifa, the people, you know, last night when we were out there, uh, covering their kickoff, protest rally march yesterday. You know, as you know,
Charlie, when the Antifa starts putting their masks on, that's when you might want to start walking
towards the police line because that means that they have ID'd you. So help me
understand, what kind of values getting exchanged here?
What would the protesters get in exchange?
No arrests for vandalism, for example?
This is a dirty deal.
Tell us more.
Well, here's my, you know, here's the really scary thing, and it should send a chill up.
Everyone's fine.
If the Democrats can cut a deal with the protesters to not I don't know how many people remember 2020, you know?
It seems like everybody forgot.
I don't know.
the fire, the carnage that they were originally planning to escalate, then that means that
they can cut a deal to flip the switch and turn on those protesters.
You know, I don't know how many people remember 2020, you know, it seems like everybody forgot.
I don't know, I haven't forgotten.
And so, you know, if we see these protests, then I have a feeling that Superintendent
Snelling, who maybe this is the first time anyone, you know, around the country has heard
this gentleman's name, but wonderful guy by all accounts, and I love him, he will be thrown
under the bus.
Okay, guaranteed.
It's literally Mayor of the City of Chicago 101.
It's like the first page of the mayoral handbook is Throw superintendent of police under bus, okay?
So this is, this is, this is like, I don't know, the worst case scenario.
And then the even worse case scenario is that the Democrats are in complete control of the protesters.
They can flip them on, they can flip them off.
This is amazing.
And so to look at this kind of collusion and this dirty deal is quite remarkable.
So, and let's dive deeper into this.
How could this potentially get out of control, William J. Kelly?
How could this potentially get out of hand for Mayor Johnson, the Democrat Party?
Because there's only so many, what you're kind of getting at though, is that they're dealing with almost the organizers who then can control the shock troops.
Tell us more.
Well, you know, I mean, Historically speaking, traditionally speaking, and I almost don't want to go into tradition here because events are moving so quickly.
I'm trying to stay out ahead of it.
But, you know, traditionally, as you know, a presidential nominee gets a bump out of a convention.
Donald Trump, I believe, got a bump out of the RNC.
It was a perfectly good convention.
There was nothing embarrassing or wrong that occurred.
Obviously, Kamala Harris, the mainstream media, don't get me wrong, wants nothing more than to just carry her through to the general election.
The only thing that could possibly go wrong would be if the city of Chicago, if we have broken windows, if we have fire, if we have blood.
What is the deal?
What is the deal that has been cut?
I'm sure you've seen, as you've driven through the city of Chicago, there are boarded up windows.
I remember the politicians, Johnson, Pritzker, they said that the DNC was going to be good for business.
Nothing says good for business like boarded up windows, right Charlie?
Yeah, exactly.
And I just have to say, what a contrast from Milwaukee.
Milwaukee, there was not a single business boarded up.
It was like a street party.
Right, Andrew?
It was just like, it was a extravaganza.
It was a four-day open-air street party.
And it just, it feels a lot different here in Chicago.

So let's put the map up on screen if we can, Andrew.
The protesters are just blocks away.
So William J. Kelly is the editor-in-chief of the City News Bureau.
They're doing everything they can to try to prevent a 1968-type scenario again.
How many people on a typical weekend, William Kelly, get shot in Chicago?
Oh, between 30 and 80.
Last weekend was 30 shot, 5 killed.
You know, that's a war zone by any account.
Last weekend, you had nothing but police in downtown Chicago.
Okay, so you've got 50 wards in the city of Chicago.
I asked Police Superintendent Snelling yesterday, I said, I see every single police officer in the city on Michigan Avenue tonight, what about the other 49 wards, you know?
And God bless the man, you know, it's not his fault, make no mistake about it.
It's the judges, it's the, if anything, the Sheriff of Cook County, you know, letting violent criminals repeat violent criminals out due to President, or excuse me, President Governor Pritzker's no cash bail.
And they're letting these criminals out, Charlie.
Because they want to make room for protesters.
Kim Foxx, the Cook County State's Attorney, she's currently prosecuting.
The only person I think that she's been prosecuting over the course of her entire tenure, is a gentleman who threw a big gulp at
her. Meanwhile, people who are being raped, robbed, and murdered have no justice. But for weeks
now, if not months, we've been hearing nothing but the specter of violence from left-wing
protesters, Democrat protesters.
Okay. Um, and, uh, But now all of a sudden, it seems like that has completely evaporated.
So that tells me, and by the way, this is not just me speculating.
Mayor Johnson himself, okay?

Here's the bottom line.
Mayor Johnson himself has said that these protesters are his friends, that he himself is a protester, that that's how he became mayor of Chicago, Charlie.
So he says that he knows them.
He's got their cell phones.
He's cutting deals with them.
Okay, what are these deals?
You know, the only thing that can derail, forgive me, I don't want to, well, A lot of people are saying, okay, sources are saying that the only thing that can derail Madam President, President Kamala Harris, is a disastrous DNC.
What deals has Mayor Johnson and Governor Pritzker cut with these Well, it's obvious that there is some sort of payoff going on.
It's very obvious.
So, Governor Pritzker is going to be speaking here at the DNC, acting like Illinois has been going in the right direction.
William J. Kelly, what is the truth about Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson?
More broadly, the state of the state.
Tell us about it.
Well, again, I was born and raised in Chicago, love it with all my heart.
I have to say it because I don't want to sound like one of these Chicago bashers who says Chicago gets what it deserves.
You know, as I think you know better than anybody, for decades, I've been sounding the alarm bell to national conservative Republican leaders saying, don't just let Chicago, don't just write it off.
You know, at what point in history has any great city or great empire, let's say, just written off the major
city, just right off Athens, right off Rome. What harm could it possibly cause? Well, I
think we're seeing the harm now.
So the city of Chicago is a war zone. We haven't even recovered from the lockdown and looting
of Lightfoot.
Okay?
I think that what the real Chicagoans are really sad about tonight, today, and leading up to this convention, Is seeing the boarded up storefronts, okay?
The only business that the DNC has really boosted is the plywood business.
You know, I only wish, Charlie, I don't want to do insider trading here, but I only wish that I had maybe tipped you off to the plywood, you know, investment scheme here, because that's the only business that seems to be benefiting from the DNC, Charlie.

I'm out here with the protesters.
We're actually with the Israelis right now.
Let me try to get this connection a little better.

So I'm going to turn the camera around here.
Okay, so Ben is still trying to get his technology figured out here.
He's on the ground here in Chicago.
It's important to understand that the context of this is the Israeli government right now is negotiating with Tony Blinken and with Hamas for a potential ceasefire.
My gut tells me that they might come to a ceasefire during the DNC to calm all this down.
And then Kamala Harris can take a victory lap here at the DNC.
So, Ben Burquam, do we have Ben now?
Is that right?
Ben, what are you hearing and seeing?
Yeah, so Charlie, we've got several thousand over here.
We're actually walking up with Savannah Hernandez and Jack Kosovic down here as well.

Sorry about the connection issue here, but you know, when you've got this many people, it's tough.
It's tough sometimes to connect, but I want to show you on the other side of the park.
You've got probably 2,000 of the pro-Hamas leftists out here chanting, you know, the river to the sea and all the same Leftist propaganda we're used to.
But what's ironic about this, Charlie, is basically they're coming out eating their own.
They're going against Kamala Harris.
So you have this whole group that have basically aligned themselves against Kamala Harris and are out here, you know, protesting the DNC.
And they're actually they're calling for shutting down the DNC.
Make it like 1968.
What's that?
Yes, right.
There's a woman just had children being killed.
That's something else that we're not talking about is the fact that they're killing babies at the DNC.
They've got a mobile abortion unit out here as well.
So it's, it is pretty ironic.
I mean, the irony here is pretty unbelievable.
Yeah, so can you just expand on that really quick?
So they literally have a truck, Planned Parenthood does, where they've brought in a truck that is doing vasectomies on site.
I mean, Andrew, would you do a vasectomy in a truck on the side of the street?
Would any man do it?
I mean, if you've got to get a vasectomy, you've got to get a vasectomy, right?
I mean, you've got three or four kids, right?
No, no, I mean this.
They're putting men in trucks on the side of the street and giving them vasectomies?
I mean, that's a pretty intense surgery, right, Andrew?
I mean, that's not just, you know, that's not exactly just something that is easy there.
Ben, is that right?
They're doing drive-by vasectomies?
Apparently.
And think about this, Charlie.
Basically, you've got the left, these eugenics-favoring leftists, who not only want to kill babies, they want to prevent men from being able to have babies.
So they actually apparently have this mobile abortion and vasectomy unit that's driving around here at the DNC.
So you can, you know, if you had promiscuous sex, you want to kill the baby, you can do that.
Or if you're a guy and your girlfriend wants you to, you know, stop your ability to have children because you want to stop the mansplaining and toxic masculinity, you can do that out here as well.
But it really, it really, Jack, or Charlie, comes back to The irony of it all is they're eating their own at the same time.
that want to build humanity.
They believe we have to be diplomatic and they want to reduce that population.
And the more vasectomies you cause, the better, the more abortions you have, the better.
So it's just the whole thing.
It's just good versus evil on display.
But the irony of it all is they're eating their own at the same time.
So, you know, it's not, I think part of me just wants to grab some popcorn
and sit back and watch it.
So again, I'm just kind of amazed.
I mean, you see, Andrew, if we see some people walking around really around the DNC with a lot of ice packs in their crotch region, we know that they did the drive-through mobile vasectomy.
And again, if you're going to get a vasectomy, I wouldn't go in an RV.
I just, I mean, I'd probably go to some sort of expert.
It's not a joke.
They literally have this truck that's driving around and they say, mobile vasectomies, and they're giving abortions on demand too there.
I hope they're not driving while they're doing it.
That might add another wrinkle into it.
I hope they actually stop it.
That's right.
No, all of a sudden they're doing a vasectomy.
Boom!
Sorry, we hit a bump here.
You know, the roads in Chicago are no good because this has become a third world city.
Sorry man, we missed.
Snipped the wrong organ.
It's priorities.
You know, you don't spend money on roads and infrastructure.
You spend it on transgender surgeries and the rest of the leftist ideology.
The things that actually don't help society.
That's where our priorities are.
So you can't expect the roads in Chicago to be good, Charlie.
It's not like Democrats have run this city for 60 years.
So explain to me, Ben Berquam, you were at the RNC and the DNC.
So far, it's just the first day.
What are the differences between the RNC and the DNC?
Well, misery versus hope and prosperity.
I mean, the RNC was the first time in a long time that I've seen Republicans from all sides come together.
And again, it was a week after President Trump Was almost assassinated.
We're just over five weeks since that day.
We saw Republicans that came together in unity behind President Trump.
And now out here, you have more disunity than you can, you know, than I've ever seen before on the Democrat side.
What's really interesting, Charlie, is you think about how we got to where we are.
This was, you know, this was Democrats, but you can see the stage is actually somebody speaking up there right now.
This was actually launched by the Democrats under President Trump.
They launched BLM, they launched Antifa to go after their political opponents.
These are the Democrat henchmen.
And what's interesting is now they've lost control.
And so you have the Democrat establishment fighting now with the grassroots,
which really are Antifa, Hamas, illegal aliens, BLM.
And again, we're talking about irony.
Today's the day of irony.
This will be the week of irony.
The same party that doesn't want borders walled on our southern border
has a wall around their convention to keep their own people out.
I mean, it's the most amazing thing.
Again, it's hope, it's joy, it's truth, it's light, godliness on the right
versus the exact opposite, the devil on the left.
Look, this is the far-left faction, and they are so powerful that Democrats are really scared about alienating them.
So they have to placate them by picking walls over Shapiro, making sweetheart deals with this base, and just kind of keeping them off to the side.
But this is the heartbeat and the base of the Democrat Party.
I want you guys to imagine that while we were having the RNC, Andrew, imagine if there were 2,000 people on the far hinterlands of our party with, like, a bunch of militiamen with firearms.
I don't know.
Think about what the potential would be.

Well, tell her first.
She does a great job.
But what is Savannah here in seeing and anticipating this week in Chicago?
So Savannah, great job, Charlie says.
What are you anticipating?
I know you've been out here for a couple of days already.
What are you anticipating seeing?
And what have you seen so far?
Sure.
So we have quite a few protesters out here.
And Charlie, I was actually out here for Frontline's Turning Point USA earlier last week because I was covering the migrant crisis.
We do have a large portion of illegal immigrants that are protesting to basically be made legal.
We know that because we are in an election year, a lot of people haven't been focusing in on election integrity, right?
Whether or not these illegal migrants will be able to vote in our elections or not.
So some of the protesters here are actively protesting to allow them to vote in our election.
You know, protesting to make them legal.
That's the inc that I'm covering because the migrant crisis here in Chicago has been really crazy actually.
We have 46,000 legal immigrants here, but that's kind of the inc that I'm taking with it
because that is, you know, mixed into this other group of hundreds of thousands of protesters right now
that are currently here to protest against it.
So guys, this can go to either one of you, Ben or Savannah.
It seems as if it's going to continue to heat up throughout the week.
Do you have confidence that the police presence will be able to hold back if, let's say, 100,000 protesters appear at this park?
Yeah, that's the big question.
And Savannah, I know you've been hearing the same things I've been hearing about the potential for 100,000 plus of these, you know, jihadist supporters coming out here talking about making it like 1968, making great like 68, shut it down.
And I don't know, you know, to answer the question, do the police have the, not just the manpower, but the will to do what's necessary to protect the DNC.
They're really, you know, this is an interesting situation.
Now, if this was a Trump rally and they were threatening to overthrow it,
and it's like what we saw in Berkeley and what we saw for four years under President Trump,
I think the police would probably get the stand down order.
Now it's about protecting.
There's actually already an interesting situation here.
When you had in your speech a protestor with a bat in his backpack, I actually just noticed it was put in the front line, and the police immediately confronted him with a bat.
So, it does seem like they're really starting to crack down.
You know, we had Politico put out the headline this morning that The Democrats are here, they're unified,
it's a party of no drama.
But out on the street, it's because we have thousands of police officers.
I personally have never seen this many police officers in a Democrat city before.
And I know that they've been deputizing and taking police officers from other areas,
like Milwaukee as well.
So I think they really are going to be cracking down and trying to keep the peace
because the media has been trying to push this narrative that peace is a very unified and peaceful event.
But again, what's going on on the ground right now is very different.
Yeah, so it's yet to be seen.
And just so you know, Charlie, everything I've been seeing when it comes to leftist propaganda and FIFA propaganda is they're anticipating it ramping up every day until they get to the culmination Wednesday, Thursday.
And, you know, we'll see.
I mean, pray for peace.
We're praying for peace in the Middle East.
We're praying for peace all around the world.
Pray for peace in Chicago.
Pray that these people wake up.
And stop the overthrow of this country, which we see.
And this is really my last takeaway from this.
When you look at who's out here, this is not just, they call themselves anti-fascist, it's really a combination of communist and anarchist.
And so this is a battle that's going to continue no matter who wins in November.
So if President Trump, in our prayers, if President Trump wins, if he wins in November, immediately expect these guys out in the streets again, immediately expect Hey, this is Charlie Kirk, and I know a lot of you have been suffering under the Biden economy.

Giving Kamala Harris control over inflation policy, Shannon, it's like giving Jeffrey Epstein control over human trafficking policy.
The American people are much smarter than that.
They don't buy the idea that Kamala Harris represents a fresh start.
She is more of the same.
It is doubling down on the failed policies of the Harris administration to give Kamala Harris a promotion rather than defy her, which is what I think most Americans are going to do on November.

And as an incumbent, she has to answer for the hundreds of thousands of dead people in Ukraine, the wide-open border, out-of-control prices.
She is to blame.
