So this is Jonathan McIntosh's How Men Can Help End Sexism.
This is the outtakes from it.
And I find it very peculiar, because if I was talking about a very serious subject, and I'm talking like the oppression of an entire gender, I don't think I'd be doing it in such a light-hearted way.

So where do men fit into all of this?

Why should I take the patriarchy, or sorry, the devil seriously?

I mean, this is the great evil you're trying to slay, and you're talking about it as if it's not real, John.

But it also makes me think you don't believe your own bullshit.

We'll start with this.
I can't believe that Jonathan McIntosh and Anita Sarkeesian think that we live in a terrible patriarchy that is oppressing women if they take this kind of blasé attitude towards making their videos telling you about it.
It just, I mean, don't get wrong, it's a fun video, and it's a fun thing that they've done here.
But I just don't believe with the sort of flippant attitude that they have to what they are claiming is a terrible system of oppression, that they even think it exists.
I always hate making this judgment, but it really does sound like they're just telling people what they want to hear for money.
And I know that I've been like, well, look, I'm not even sure that's the case.
But maybe it is.
Maybe I was wrong.
And you know what?
Maybe I'm just reading too much into these outtakes.
Maybe I'm just, you know, maybe I don't have context.
Maybe I don't have enough information to really judge whether John actually thinks the patriarchy is something real or something that he can just mock in the outtakes of his video.
But honestly, I really don't know how anyone buys what they're saying.
If they can treat it, if they can treat horrible oppression with such a light-hearted tone.
I don't see why I should take the patriarchy and the systematic oppression of women any more seriously than they do.
And that word is patriarchy.
