The viral popularity of the Obama phone video was driven by racist stereotypes and a coordinated media blitz to help the Romney campaign.
It's important to remember that this video went viral for two reasons, and two reasons only. One, people laughing at this woman, many of whom were doing it for racist reasons, as expressed by this poster on Stormfront. Quote, A lot of people just thought the video was funny in an absurd way. Sure, I believe that there are people who thought this was funny in a non-racist way. But make no mistake, a large portion of the people who thought the video was funny thought it was funny because how closely it mirrored their racist stereotypes. Oh yeah. Two, the other reason why this got really popular was that there was a coordinated media blitz to push this video in an attempt to help the Romney campaign.
