Banking is essentially intelligence work involving private networks of spies and blackmail.
So they understood hundreds of years ago that banking is essentially intelligence work. We don't think about it that way. We think of banking as boring dudes, you know, doing ledgers and graphs or something and usury and loans. And certainly that's all part of it. But the real scheme here that allowed certain banking families to rise to prominence, particularly when the original Rothschild sent out his sons throughout Europe to set up banking empires, it wasn't just to have a business. It was to set up an empire that also had private intelligence, that had private networks of spies and blackmail. Those things always go together.
