Right-wing media figures used the Obama phone video as a coordinated political tool to defend Mitt Romney and attack his critics by portraying the subject as proof of the '47%' stereotype.

The message was clear. As conservative commentators, we're quick to link this viral video to a defense of Romney's horrible statements. It was very clear that this existed in opposition to each other. They pushed the idea that this woman, that at that point anonymous, was the face of the 47% that Romney was criticized for talking about. She was proof that Romney was right, and the attacks against him were really just to cover up how right he was.

The Obamaphone video was used by media supporting the Romney campaign to push racist archetypes.

But ultimately it doesn't matter because the only people who cared about this story cared about it to push Romney. That's the only reason that it made it on Drudge. They were using these welfare queen racist archetypes and stuff like that. But the purpose that was behind it was Romney.
