In the past few hours, these photos have emerged out the uh from the scene of the Boston marathon bombings and basically they show four or five individuals wearing coats and Acts that look like they're heavy and weighed down.

One of the things that I was reading about was the idea of this crowdsourcing investigative work. And one of the big things that was pointed out as a failure of that process as it relates to the Boston bombing was that it was a one-way street. There was only people online investigating things and that's it. Whereas the police weren't interacting with the people investigating, sort of guiding what is relevant, what isn't. And people made tons of fucking terrible assumptions because they were looking at, okay, so all we knew is backpack, right? So let's craft a narrative out of these people that we can find with backpacks. That's not enough to make this a healthy part of that investigative ecosystem.
And again, I said the minute it happened, I said they're going to blame right-wingers and libertarians. That's my gut.
What have I been saying since this happened a few days ago? Because the scripting, they're saying white guys tea party with al-Qaeda in all the movies, all the shows. And then if that's who they say it is, then you know it's scripted. There's no way they roll out this narrative and then it actually manifests a group to do this. You could get one person to copycat, but you're not going to have media be able to mirror exactly what happens.
They've got these huge coats on these huge backpacks. I don't know how cold it was in Boston, but they look completely overdressed.
