But according to Deadline, sources at Discovery said, quote, the decision was quietly made a while ago. However, it didn't come to light until today. It wasn't so much canceled as it was not picked up for a third season. And the reasons given were that the network felt that there wasn't any story left to tell with the characters on the show. And more importantly, their ratings in the second season, quote, finished down double digits from season one, despite a strong start to the season.

As it relates to his show on Discovery, it didn't get canceled. According to Discovery, Nugent's had a thing that was on there called Gun Country. It was, quote, always intended to be a one-hour special. You know, Jordan, like something that isn't a recurring show. But what? They just did a one-off one-hour thing with Ted Nugent and some guns. They also said that it, quote, fared poorly in the ratings.

And that's why I was told by History Channel, by Discovery Channel, by AE, and by one of the major production companies that produces reality television, that three years ago the order came down, and I talked about it at the time, and you saw it in the news, that they were going to cancel all the major pro-gun shows that were number one on every channel. Number one for those channels were gun shows.

So also the idea that the no-gun show stuff is a narrative that's been pushed on Alex's show by Ted Nugent because he's mad that his show got canceled. Right. That's basically what Alex is talking about.
