Rising crime rates motivate people to buy guns, rather than gun ownership reducing crime.

People who have looked at it from that viewpoint, the relationship between more guns and less crime, they look at it from a standpoint of rising crime makes people buy more guns. Right, right. They look at it from almost like their analysis of the statistics shows almost the opposite of what Alex is saying, is that crime motivates people to buy guns as opposed to gun buying leads people to do less crime.
