Alex Jones's recent rant was not satire but a publicity stunt designed to draw attention to his product by using the spectacle of starvation.

But I really couldn't come up with a coherent way that you bridge the gap. What he's trying to say is, instead of satire, publicity stunt. Yeah. What he's trying to say is, I did something as a spectacle in order to get eyes on my product, and then he's rationalizing it by saying, what I really wanted people to pay attention when they came was me talking about people who are starving in the developing world. He's trying to say that it's satire, but it's really just, I yelled into a bullhorn.

Alex Jones's rant about demons and snakes is a standard part of his rhetoric and not particularly significant.

And I get on one level why people shared this like crazy. It's like, isn't it funny that he calls Brian Stelter a demon? Yeah, yeah. Pretty standard. Yeah. Pretty run of the mill. Yeah, we've seen him call a lot of folks demons in the past.
