My reaction when I see the national posts, they tend to be better by Canadian standards.

So I say, okay, if they say generally positive, it's damn positive, but we won't get there yet.

By the same account, caught fire at a suspiciously fast rate, garnering between 85,000 and 135,000 interactions, 1 to 3 million views.
The Post got so much attention so quickly on the Chinese platform that they caught the eye of security and intelligence threats to election.

Task Force, which realized that the publications were part of an information campaign by the People's Republic of China.
Quote, this content has been amplified in a coordinated and inauthentic way.
This information operation had contrasting positive and negative narratives, first amplifying Mr. Carney's stance with the United States and then targeting his experience and credentials, said PCO Assistant Secretary Laurie-Anne Kempton, who we watched yesterday.
The site task force assesses for the state-backed information operation was intended to influence Canadian Chinese communities and look to mold perceptions.
And then we get to the posts.
March 10 post entitled, The U.S. Encounters a Tough Guy Prime Minister and describes Carney's position vis-a-vis President Donald Trump's terrorist threats.
The March 25 article, Canada's Road to Seeking Survival Election, describes Carney's political road to the liberal leader, but also notes his career to date has not been smooth and he's been criticized by conservatives for refusing to disclose his assets.
Okay, we can stop here because I don't think we need to get any more into that.
So I went and I found the original articles.
I don't know if they're in Mandarin or Cantonese.
I suspect it's Mandarin.
I don't speak Mandarin.
So using Encryptus in the backdrop to summarize, translate, and give the essence of these articles, what did we come up with?

Of these articles, as the Toronto Star put it, Carney's victory reflects Canadians' dissatisfaction with the status quo.
But whether he can turn this crisis dividend into meaningful reform is the true test.

The Court of Appeal made the finding today, yesterday, in a case brought by former Ontario legislator Randy Hillier, who faced several charges for organizing or hosting protests against pandemic measures while the rules were in effect last spring, the spring of 2021.
Hillier appealed after the judge who heard his application found that while the limits on gatherings did infringe on his right to peaceful assembly, they were justified and therefore constitutional.
How the hell did any judge in their right mind come to that conclusion?
While they were limiting gatherings that did infringe on his right to peaceful assembly, yay, that little thing called the God-given right in the charter, that can be limited in as much as it's justified in a free and democratic society, the one catch-all of the charter that makes it all worth used toilet paper.
It was a restriction on his God-given right to peaceful assembly, but they were justified.
Because of my science.
And it was never justified.
Ever. Anywhere.
Anyone who says it was is an idiot and a liar.

Quote, can the court in assessing the state's justification countenance An outcome in which the state eliminates the free exercise of a fundamental freedom without giving that elimination any actual thought the court agrees.

They did it in Nova Scotia, had to rely on the Court of Appeal to overturn that one.
They did it in Ontario, had to rely on the Court of Appeal to overturn that one.
They justified forced detention in government designated courting facilities.
They justified forced detention for anybody coming over across the border two weeks in a government-designated quarantine facility, also known as a frickin' federal prison.
But they made them out of hotels.
They were nice.
There were only a couple of sexual assaults at these government-designated quarantine facilities.
Such an outcome would be entirely contrary to the purpose of the Charter in protecting the free exercise of fundamental freedoms against the limiting actions of government.
The court has asked for submissions on possible remedies over the next few weeks.

Initially, the detainees sought relief in habeas, habeas corpus, show me the body, bring me the body, among other causes of action, but they dismissed their habeas claims.
March 15, 2025, the District Court for the District of Columbia issued two temporary restraining orders, TROs, preventing any removal of the named plaintiffs and preventing the removal under the Alien Enemies Act of the provisionally certified class consisting of, and then they define the class.
So basically, the D.C. Court comes in and says, you can't Deport them.
We're issuing a TRO.
Turn those planes around.
Tough noogies.
They're already in international waters.
Go F yourself.
But you can't deport them as members of a class.
And here's the temporary restraining order issued in the context of that putative class, the determinate class in a class action.
And what do they come in and they say?
We grant the application to vacate the TROs.
The detainees seek equitable relief against the implementation of the proclamation and against the removal under the AEA, Alien Enemies Act.
They challenge the government's interpretation of the act and assert that they did not fall within the category of removable alien enemies.
But we do not reach those arguments.
They don't even address them because that's not the substance of it.
Challenges to removal under the AEAS statute, which largely precludes judicial review, and then they cite that precedent, must be brought in habeas.
So they're not saying that Trump can invoke the Alien Enemies Act and that it's not subject for judicial review.
They're saying you want to challenge it.
You go do it by way of habeas corpus.
Show me the body.
Challenge through habeas, not through a class action temporary restraining order.

The emergency judges 100% of the time get those cases, so he could have been tipped off that this was going to be filed while on vacation he took the case.

When you file injunctions, and if you guys are new to the channel, I've practiced law for 13 plus years, and I did a lot of injunctions.
