Time Text
You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is the political cesspool.
The Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the political cesspool is your host, James Edwards.
Welcome back, everybody, to our third and final hour.
We are going into overtime, some extended play with Sam Dixon.
But first, let's dip into the mailbag very quickly.
I locked myself in my office this afternoon and was trying to answer as many emails from you, our beloved listening audience, as I could.
And I got through about half of it before Keith got to the house.
We went out to eat before coming to the studio tonight.
Some great emails.
Hi, James.
I've listened to every episode since 2016.
Thanks for all the great work y'all do.
My wife and I were born and raised in Memphis, but are considering moving to Arkansas.
But before we move, we would love the chance to meet you and Keith.
Keith, when we get emails like that, what do we say?
Come on down.
Prices right.
Well, I responded to this gentleman and said it would be our honor to go out and have lunch or a dinner, and we'll make those arrangements.
John writes, just wanted to let you know that I have a copy of your book that I have owned since you first published it 10 years ago.
It occupies a prominent place on my bookshelf nestled in my collection of books on Southern culture and heritage, along with books on Southern politics.
Great book.
Thanks for writing it.
Well, John, thank you for buying it and thank you for reading it.
And then here is Jay in Texas.
I enjoy listening to y'all every week.
It gives me hope in these troubled times.
Well, that's, of course, Jay, what we are here to do and whatever effort and good we've done has been bettered by the guests we have the privilege to present to our audience each week.
Sam Dixon sits at the tip of that spear.
In addition to being one of my best friends in the world, he is one of the greatest guests and most enlightened guests we've ever had the opportunity to host on this program.
Don't forget coming up right after this, right after this segment, we're going to revisit a classic interview with Pat Buchanan, The Suicide of the Superpowers, what we talked about.
I thought it was germane tonight in light of the current situation what we were talking with Sam about in the previous segment.
We asked, will America survive to 2025?
That question isn't so absurd now.
But first, back to Sam.
Sam, the forecast with Biden coming in, we've got 20,000 troops, 20,000 troops, many of them stationed in the Capitol, sleeping on their knapsacks.
What's going on and what can we expect as the Biden-Harris regime kicks off in just a few days?
Well, this is street theater to try to create an atmosphere of panic where they can violate people's rights.
This is always the way that tyrants behave.
But I'm more interested in just examining what we can expect from Biden as Biden.
And there's some things I suspect your listeners have not thought of or have not been reminded of by the system media.
The thing that concerns us most, of course, especially people like you and Keith, is the survival of our First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and press and to assemble.
And what does the history of Joe Biden show us about that?
Well, I think we can start with Edward Snowden.
One of the many disappointment things about Trump is that he's successful, so who am I to critique him?
But it seems to me there are things he could have done, things he could have said, that would have made a difference.
I think he should have pardoned Snowden long ago.
He apparently is not going to pardon Snowden.
Pardoning him would put us, him, and thereby us, on the right side.
It would show the New York Times, Senator Schumer, Osoff, New Senator Newt, Senator from Georgia, and others of that ill to be where they are, which is a part and parcel of the deep state people who are quite happy to violate the rights of American citizens.
Snowden revealed that the Obama-Biden administration had engaged in systematic breaking of the law.
They had instituted a program of surveillance that was copying every email that American citizens sent out.
The massive illegal surveillance of people's telephones, social media, their emails, all in violation of the Fourth Amendment.
And the amendments are the law.
They're not just some sort of thing like the Sermon on the Mount, just some sort of sweet signing principles to be thought about in the Sunday school.
They are actually laws.
And when the government violates those laws and conducts illegal searches of American citizens, it is violating the law.
And this was something far beyond any of the charges that were brought against Trump about Russia, cooperation, things like this.
People should have gone to jail for that.
But instead, the one person who revealed to the American people this extraordinary spectacle of this massive violation of their Bill of Rights, he's a wanted man.
He's wanted, and he's living in Russia, a place that has afforded him refuge from a land seeking to take his physical freedom the way the government of this country was violating the liberties of our people.
None of the people who committed the, who organized this program, in which Biden had a role, none of them have ever seen the inside of the grand jury ring.
Because the criminals who surveilled us and violated our right to privacy and gathered all this information for the government used against us, they're still drawing down their paychecks, and one of them has gotten to be president of the United States.
Biden took on with great zeal and venom the personal role of pursuing Snowden.
It was Biden who called and threatened foreign countries that if they gave asylum to Snowden, they would face the wrath of the United States and economic sanctions and things like this.
Biden, as we know, has a proclivity for calling and threatening foreign governments and interfering in their affairs, as he did with Ukraine to stop the prosecution of his son's company.
But anyway, somebody with this kind of background, you know, helping hatch this plan, covering up for the perjurers, pursuing the whistleblower, even if we didn't know the nature of his movement and party, we can gauge from this what Biden's value, what value Biden puts on the Bill of Rights.
And that value is zero.
It's all about Biden and his crony capitalism and his political gang.
Then we can look at also this is another thing that we, those of us who think independently, the deplorables need to keep pointing out.
In the second debate, Biden was asked, what about the Antifa?
And his reply was that there would not be any prosecutions of the Antifa because the Antifa is an idea.
It's not an organization.
Now, this is something that is such a lie.
Such a obvious lie.
A lie into the faith of the American people about a Marxist terrorist group, which he denied existed, and which by telling them, hey, hey boys, you guys, 300 of whom were arrested at Trump's inauguration for smashing up the businesses and attacking people, slugging people, they all got off.
When I'm your president, you go at it.
You can go after my enemies.
And we're not going to enforce the law.
It's going to be on a national level what the black police chief in Charlottesville did when he ordered the police not to give police protection to the whites who were trying to have their rally there.
So that's another indication of what Biden thinks of the Bill of Rights and what kind of a person he is.
So that gives us a lot to think about.
That is a lot to think about indeed, and I appreciate you for bringing it to our attention.
I would love to have you back in short order.
The Biden administration will, of course, commence in just a few days' time before we talk again, I'm sure.
And so provide us with plenty of father.
That's right.
Yes, there's never a dull moment in talk radio, and every week there's more to unhash.
Well, thank you, Sam, for being with us tonight and staying with us a little bit.
Thank you.
We are all judged on whether or not we took a stand in defense of all life from the moment of conception until our last natural breath.
As a teenager, I gave my first public speech in my church.
My hand shook, my heart pounded.
I thought to myself, I can't do this, but somehow I did.
And because I wanted to talk about things that were important, I persisted.
I chided my church as a senior in high school for not seeming to care about the not yet born, for looking the other way and for not taking a stand on life.
I will be in earnest.
I will not equivocate and I will not excuse.
I will not retreat an inch and I will be heard.
One thing I promise you, I will always take a stand for life.
As a parent, is receiving a faith-based, character-focused education for your children difficult to find?
Do you believe that godly principles should be a central component in your child's education?
Imagine a school where faith and integrity are at its center, where heritage and responsibility instill character.
For over 40 years, American Heritage School has been educating both hearts and minds, bringing out academic excellence.
This is the school where character and embracing the providence of a living God are fundamental, where students' national test scores average near the 90th percentile.
With American Heritage School's advanced distance education program, distance is no longer an issue.
With an accredited LDS-oriented curriculum from kindergarten through 12th grade, your children can attend from anywhere in the world.
American Heritage School will prepare your child for more than a job.
It will prepare them for life.

Most Americans are painfully aware that the nation is on the wrong track and in dire straits.
Unfortunately, most political pundits only nibble around the edges when they claim to address the issues.
Even worse, many of the so-called solutions are simply rewarmed servings of what got us into the mess we currently face.
And the politicians think we're so gullible and naive that we'll buy their lies that they have reformed and now understand where they led us astray.
Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is that they simply wish to continue to hold power.
The solution to America's challenges is found in returning to the timeless principles found in the United States Constitution.
My book and lecture series will reawaken in Americans an understanding and love of the principles which made this nation the freest, most prosperous, happiest, and most respected nation on earth.

And now, back to tonight's show.
Talking on the phone is not my speech.
Go send me all the letters because I can't read.
Robin, cause I've been gone.
We're going to run and roll long night and all, cause I'm ready.
I'm willing.
And I'm evolved and rock and roll all night.
I'm ready.
I'm winning.
And I'm evolved.
Rock and roll all night.
Oh, I'm all ready, baby.
We're on the rock.
We're going to throw it in the morning face.
That's us, that's for sure.
Rock and roll was the anti-intellectual alternative to 50s popular music.
Jazz was the intellectual one.
So I guess confessing that he can't read is par for the course for early rockers.
And you know how I am about answering the phone.
That's right.
Yeah, that's you in every way, man.
Okay, well, I want to thank again the great Kevin McDonald and Sam Dixon Esquire for being with us tonight and adding so much to the program.
A couple of ways I wanted to do this this evening with this classic interview with Pat Buchanan.
So we're talking about how America seems to be committing suicide.
Pat wrote the book 10 years ago, 10 years ago.
That was a follow-up to his, what I consider to be his best book, Death of the West.
Suicide.
10 years later.
Suicide of a superpower.
Will America survive to 2025?
Well, you know, when we were talking about this 10 years ago, 2025, you know, yeah, I don't think America is going to stand forever, but I don't know if it'll fall as soon as 2025.
But I'll tell you what, I'm reassessing that opinion by the day the way things are.
Damascus.
Here's what we were going to do, though.
We were going to replay this interview in its entirety and then let Keith apply updated commentary in light of the current situation.
But what we're actually going to do now is I'm going to begin playing this interview with Pat.
And when Keith has something to say, he's going to raise his hand and he's going to chime in a quick punch, a little quick insertion of commentary, and then we'll get back to the interview.
We'll go back and forth, back and forth the rest of the show.
But it is interesting.
We were talking about that with Sam Dixon as well.
Can America endure with this sort of heavy-handed approach that the left is serving us?
With every passing game, it seems like Pat was right.
We probably won't.
Well, let's go back and listen to it again.
And when something tickles your fancy, raise a hand.
And I'm going to sag back and call it a night, I guess, for my own personal contributions to this show.
Let's go back now to Pat Buchanan.
Friend and yours, Patrick J. Buchanan.
Pat, are you with us?
I sure am, James.
How are you?
It's great to have you back.
I'm doing very well.
Thanks for being back with me again.
I believe this is your third appearance with us.
And congratulations on the early success of your latest title.
You know, when you write a book, it's like printing money.
Everybody loves you.
No, James.
They give me an advance for the book, and then I go out and try to sell as many as I can to help the publisher get it back.
Well, I understand, but I tell you, I saw a couple of people at Target last night of all places.
You know, they only carry two books, and yours is one of them.
And somebody there was flipping through it.
Know have you ever thought about running for president?
Been there, done that.
Don't we all remember?
Well, let's jump right into the thick of it.
Sure.
Your new book is an epic.
It's thicker than the Bible, and like the good book, there's not a wasted word in it.
Pat, as Americans living in this day and age, do we have front-row seats to the end of Western civilization and culture as we know it?
Well, I think yes, from a variety of standpoints.
Let me mention the one chapter, the demographic winter of the West.
There's not a single Western country whose native-born population has a birth rate now that will enable it really to survive in any form we recognize toward the end of this century.
And it's my argument that when the faith, Christianity, which was the faith that created the West, when the faith dies, the culture dies, the civilization dies, and the people die.
And I think that's true down through history.
And we certainly see that in Europe, for example, which is well advanced ahead of us, where the Christianity, I think something like one in ten people go to church.
And in Great Britain, I believe more people attend Muslim mosques on holy days of the week than go to Anglican churches.
So I think the West was created by this great religion, if you will, and that created the magnificent culture of the Middle Ages and out of which all these great countries, which really dominated the world through the 20th century, with empires basically dominating every country on earth almost except for Japan.
And now look at where they are.
And I think you see a civilization basically in retreat.
As Toynbee said, civilizations die by suicide, not by murder.
Okay.
James, let me just say this.
What he's talking about there is the demographic destiny of the West, Europe.
What the left has done was totally unanticipated by Orwell.
Orwell was so prescient on so many issues, but on sexuality, he thought there was going to be a repressive end to sex.
That was one of the themes in 1984.
It's just the opposite.
They have allowed us to have sex, sex, never more sex, just not procreation.
Sex is now recreation, like having fun.
It's not procreation.
That's what they've done.
We have Dr. Rock's pill, the birth control pill.
We have abortion on demand.
We have birth control, which was prohibited by the Catholic Church.
Now all of those things have taken place and they have diminished our birth rates.
Meanwhile, they're inviting strangers, racial strangers from all over the globe to come in to diminish our percentage of the population.
See, in 1960, whites were 90% of the U.S. population, 10% were the other, basically black.
Well, with the civil rights movement, the left saw, much to its disappointment, that blacks weren't making much headway for one reason or another.
They only got up to 13%.
So they had to look elsewhere for non-whites to swamp us.
That's what they've done.
All right, now back to the interview.
Tonight of all places.
You know, they only carry two books.
Well, hang on a second.
We've got to figure out why that happened.
All right, well, keep talking while I do it.
Okay, well, anyway, that's what happened to America.
That's what they're doing to Europe, too.
What the left does, it looks for the closest group of non-whites.
In Europe, it's Arabs from the Middle East.
In America, it's Hispanics from South and Central America.
And they bring them in to delude us.
What do they have?
What do they want?
What they want is merely this.
They're not us.
Okay.
Well, we're going to hear.
Move it forward if you can.
Move that forward.
Of the Middle Ages, and out of which all these great countries, which really dominated the world through the 20th century, with empires basically dominating every country on earth almost except for Japan.
And now look at where they are.
And I think you see a civilization basically in retreat as Toyne D. Civilization died by suicide, not by murder.
I'm glad you brought up our faith in your book.
This is a Christian program.
It is dying in America.
And, of course, that precedes the death of a nation.
In Russia, however, there seems to be somewhat of a revival of Christianity nationwide.
And of course, we've all read the reports where the Russian government encourages ethnic Russians to have large families.
What has made some of these Russians come to their senses and not us?
Well, I think the Russians went through hell for 70 years under Bolshevism.
They were a deeply religious and patriotic people.
It was Orthodox Christianity.
And when Lenin and Stalin came in, the church was literally murdered.
I was over there in 1971, I guess it was.
And we went down to this museum of atheism in Leningrad, which was a gigantic cathedral.
And they turned it into that, and everything had been emptied out.
So they went through 70 years of hell.
And it's very true when they were liberated from Bolshevism and communism.
Many have returned to the faith.
But frankly, James, if you look at the numbers there, and again, the statistics I have in my book, Suicide of a Superpower, deal also with what's happening in Russia and these other countries.
Russia has a birth rate now that will cost it some 25 million dead or Russians disappearing between now and 2050.
They've already lost 8 million in the last two decades, ever since they became free.
And the women are not having children.
And I think the death age, the median death age of Russian men is now something like 60.
All right, hang on right there, everybody.
We will work with this player, and we will come back and toss it back and forth with Keith as we revisit this classic interview with Pap Buchanan about the suicide of the superpower.
Will America survive to 2025?
We're talking about Western civilization again.
Proclaiming liberty across the land.
You're listening to Liberty News Radio.
USA Radio News with Dan Narocki.
A caravan of migrants from Honduras clashed with security forces Friday night as they tried to cross into Guatemala on their way to the U.S. Officials estimate more than 6,000 people are part of this caravan.
Mark Morgan says this could be the first of many caravans who see a change in immigration policies as an opportunity.
The commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection tells Fox News they saw this outcome as part of the statements from the incoming Biden administration.
With the new administration's immigration strategies, which really are akin to open border strategies, we knew this was going to come and it's already happened.
But it's not just a thousand.
Right now, we're looking at two groups that are well over 5,000.
And one of those groups have already gotten through the Guatemala border and they're on their way to El Rancho, which is about located centrally in Guatemala.
It's coming.
It's already started just as we promised and anticipated it would with this rhetoric from the new administration on the border.

The woman who helped Donald Trump win the presidency in 2016 is reflecting on her time at the White House.
USA Radio News's Mike Fortier has the story.
Kellyanne Conway was the first woman to lead a successful presidential campaign in 2016.
She stayed on as senior counselor until last year.
She was on HBO's real time with Bill Maher last night.
I'm happy that I worked for a president who kept the Oval Office door open to many of us.
We can go in and express ourselves.
I didn't win every policy debate, but I was heard.
And I think any woman in a workplace who is heard by her boss and has a seat at the table should really appreciate that.
Conway adds, though, that the last two months have been a disappointment, especially last week.
I think that those marauders and murderers, I think that they insult not represent the whole Trump movement.
Looking back, she says Trump built the greatest economy we had, rebuilt the military, and a lot of people are better off.
For USA Radio News, I'm Mike Fortier.
This is USA Radio News.
Welcome back.
To get on the show, call us on James's Dime at 1-866-986-6397.
All right, Keith, 30 seconds response.
We got to get back to this because we can't control the player.
It's so old, it's corrupted.
Go.
Okay, here's the problem.
He was talking about Russia, and you were talking about Russia as having a better prospect for increasing their population, their white population.
And what Pat was saying was, well, they've got their own problems.
Let me tell you what the difference is between Russia and America.
Russia has a colder temperature, colder climate.
And because of that, people from south of Russia, like the Middle Easterners and in America, the Hispanics, don't like that cold weather, and they're not as likely to come in.
The problems in Russia have to do with 70 years of communism and the fact that they, he said that the average Russian woman, this was back around 2010 when he wrote the book, has seven abortions and they just, and men are dying in their 60s from alcoholism and things like this.
Well, we don't seem to have those type of problems, at least to that extent, here in America.
So this is a worldwide problem, but America has a problem of being temperate and hospitable to people from South America and Central America.
Russia is too cold for people from the Middle East.
But not for me.
In fact, the South, as much as I love it, is too hot for me.
So I don't know.
Maybe.
Well, we'll get you over there in 30 below zero in Siberia.
Well, let's go back to Pat talking about Russia, and then we will continue this.
The average woman has seven abortions, I think.
I've had that in an earlier book.
And what's going to happen is that Russia, I think, is going to lose the caucuses to the Islamic Islamists who are trying to tear it away.
And Russia is going to be a country which is virtually half Islamic by mid-century.
This demographic decline that Russia is suffering is obviously something that we have in common with them.
And there are a number of perils that come along with that.
I once said during an interview on CNN that you can't have a first world nation with a third world population.
Moving on to another aspect of your excellent new book, which I have a review copy right here on my desk here at the studio, you write that white America is an endangered species.
Pat, what's America going to look like if indeed whites do become extinct?
Well, I don't think, I mean, I don't think whites are going to become extinct, but by, I mean, certainly not in the near future.
But what is happening, as you see in California, where Americans of European descent are already a minority, and that is true in Texas.
And it is true, I believe, and there's one other, New Mexico and Hawaii.
And in this decade, I think six more states will pass the tipping point where whites become a minority.
I think the best way to understand what America will look like is to look at California today.
I think that is pretty much what America will look like.
The Hispanic population will be immense, excuse me, 135 million, according to the Census Bureau statistics.
And if you look at California, I mean, everybody went there.
It was paradise.
The soldiers who went out to the Pacific came home, went through there, and then went out and made their homes.
And what is happening out there, James, is that, I mean, look at the bond rating is the lowest in the country.
The taxes are enormously heavy.
They're on the well-to-do and the successful.
It is what they're doing in the country now.
And these folks are leaving the state, and many of the poor, illegal immigrants, one-third of them, head for California.
You've got a black-brown war of the underclass going on in Los Angeles, according to Sheriff Lee Baca, in the gangs and in the prisons.
And of course, the welfare state is bankrupting.
And they got some of the highest taxes in the nation.
So I think, and this is what is going to, the country is going to look like.
And I quote the famous Harvard sociologist Robert Putnam.
He did a study of all the cities, the major cities of the United States, I think in some in the world, and he found capital, that disposition of people to work together and live together and associate and join for common causes and political and social causes, is at its least in the city of Los Angeles.
He said he had never seen social capital so low anywhere, that diversity brings about people really moving into their own enclaves, segregating themselves, separating themselves, and really cooperating in very little.
Pat, I hate to interrupt you, my friend.
All right, so there's a break we took at that particular show.
Your response.
Turn the sound out.
No, go.
Okay, here's the situation.
Pat missed it on this.
The real demographic problem with foreigners in Russia is not Islamists, it's the Chinese.
The Chinese are coming in, pouring over the border.
They were doing that.
They've reversed their long-standing one-child per couple rule.
And they're basically going to turn Siberia into a colony if they have their own way.
And Canada, and from Canada, launching Pad into America.
The Chinese are the big risk now, long term, in terms of foreigners coming in here, non-white foreigners, and taking over.
And they have much more capability than other groups to be a real competitor with us in terms of industry, in terms of intelligence, and things of that nature.
Now, that's what we need to draw from this.
Look, California used to be a garden spot, just like Pat Buchanan said, but it is now a hellhole and people are moving out.
Unfortunately, they're leaving with their political outlook intact, coming to places like Texas now and Colorado.
They're a problem.
All right, here we go.
America going to look like if indeed whites do become extinct?
Well, now we just asked that, and I don't know why it goes back to that.
So hang on, we're going to get it back to where we were.
Keith, get that organ grinder and the monkey going.
Okay.
Okay, well, here it is.
Now we're ready.
The top 20, I want to see it at number one before he leaves the program this evening.
Stay tuned.
We got him for another segment after the break.
Jump in, the political says, pull with James and the game.
Call us tonight at 1-866-986-6397.
And here's the host of the Political Cess Pool, James Edwards.
Welcome back to the show, everybody.
Pat Buchanan, our featured guest tonight, and what a featured guest he is.
He's on.
Now, I figured out how to work the player now.
How about that?
Well, that's good.
Now we just got to find where we need to be.
So keep talking for a second, and I figured out how to work this whole player.
Well, you know, our problem here in America, specifically the question that we wanted to focus on is, will America survive to 2025?
I think Sam Dixon is right.
Give the left enough rope and they'll hang themselves.
We don't have to worry about getting involved in direct confrontation and conflict with them.
That is a fool's errand.
That is something that they would hope that we would do to keep the pot boiling.
Leave them to their own devices and they will wreck the American economy.
And a lot of people that are supporters of the left now will be animals by the time they get through.
We're going to have, for example, they're after climate change.
They want to do away with the use of fossil fuels.
That will wreck the petroleum industry, which is a high-income industry that's not just in Texas anymore.
It's all over the nation.
And they're going to make all of these people, including people that are at the lower end of the socioeconomic flagpole or totem pole, suffer because they're not going to be able to afford $13 a gallon gas.
They're trying to basically convert us by 1930 to non-fossil fuels.
Of course, they could have done it if they wanted to.
In fact, we could have replaced gasoline with water, but they did not want to do that for some reason.
That would be the perfect solution, and they could convert the cars we have now to that based on what I've read, but they're not going to do that.
They're going to try to do something else, and that's going to be incredibly expensive.
And they're going to have to, again, resort to printing up money so that the underclass can afford to have cars.
They're not going to take too kindly to the idea that they can have cars, and the middle class won't like the price of it.
So all of these things are going to lead to the perfect storm where people will finally have had enough of the left in their agenda, and they will bolt.
And they'll be ripe to be picked up by a conservative alternative.
We just need to make sure that it's not the standard-ish Republicans that we've dealt with in the past.
We need to have people like the people speaking to you now on the, you know, the more paleoconservative type of people like us setting the standards because this is what worked in the past.
It's real easy to figure out what to do to change things.
Go back to the way things were.
At least that's my opinion.
Well, apologies, ladies and gentlemen, for the herky-jerky nature of the replay of this interview.
My player was corrupted on my end here at the studio, and it took us a little bit of troubleshooting in real time while on live radio to arrest the problem, but we do have it now arrested.
And so for the final segment of tonight's show, when we come back from the break in just a moment, we will be able to start and stop the interview as we had intended to do for the entire hour.
But of course, this is an interview that so many of you are already well familiar with.
Not only did many of you listen to it when it was live, we have replayed it a time or two over the years, and we have offered CD copy as incentive for an incentive gift.
And a lot of you probably heard this already.
But it's a good one to play again, especially in light of the hastening decline, the terminal decline that we now, more than ever before, see America experiencing.
I thought it was good tonight, the last show before the Biden regime begins to revisit this about a nation committing suicide.
That's what America's doing.
Pat was on top of it 10 years ago.
We'll continue with it right after this.
Okay, girls, about finished with your lesson on money?
Daddy, what is a buy-sell spread for gold coins?
Well, when you sell a gold coin to a coin shop that's worth, say, $1,200, you don't actually get $1,200.
But don't worry, we're members of UPMA now, so we don't have to worry about that.
Daddy, why somebody silver gold?
We don't have any gold at the house.
It's stored safely in the UPMA vault, securely and insured.
But the SP 500 outperformed gold.
Daddy, gold is a bad investment.
Some people do think of it that way, but actually, gold is money.
And as members of the United Precious Metals Association, we can use our gold at any store, just like a credit card.
Or I can ask them to drop it right into Mommy and Daddy's bank account because we're a UPMA member family.

That's upma.org.
Why don't we say to the government writ large that they have to spend a little bit less?
Anybody ever had less money this year than you had last?
Anybody better have a 1% pay cut?
You deal with it.
That's what government needs, a 1% pay cut.
If you take a 1% pay cut across the board, you have more than enough money to actually pay for the disaster relief.
But nobody's going to do that because they're fiscally irresponsible.
Who are they?
Republicans.
Who are they?
Democrats.
Who are they?
Virtually the whole body is careless and reckless with your money.
So the money will not be offset by cuts anywhere.
The money will be added to the debt, and there will be a day of reckoning.
What's the day of reckoning?
The day of reckoning may well be the collapse of the stock market.
The day of reckoning may be the collapse of the dollar.
When it comes, I can't tell you exactly, but I can tell you it has happened repeatedly in history when countries ruin their currency.
You know where the solution can be found, Mr. President?
In churches, in wedding chapels, in maternity wards across the country and around the world.
More babies will mean forward-looking adults, the sort we need to tackle long-term, large-scale problems.
American babies in particular are likely going to be wealthier, better educated, and more conservation-minded than children raised in still industrializing countries.
As economist Tyler Cowan recently wrote, quote, by having more children, you're making your nation more populous, thus boosting its capacity to solve climate change.
The planet does not need for us to think globally and act locally so much as it needs us to think family and act personally.
The solution to so many of our problems at all times and in all places is to fall in love, get married, and have some kids.
Welcome back.

For those of you who know me, you know I am a perfectionist and I have a touch of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
So when something doesn't work exactly the way it should, like, for instance, the United States Postal Service, or in case of tonight's show, my media player here in the studio, I start sweating.
And, I mean, I was sweating, wondering why this wasn't working exactly.
What would happen was when I would pause the interview and try to restart it, it would restart at some random place.
Well, I think I've got it figured out.
But for those of you who want to listen to this interview in its entirety, email me, james at thepoliticalspool.org.
I'll email it to you.
You can listen to it.
Pat's made several appearances on this show.
This particular interview was his most lengthy appearance, so we're not going to be able to play it all tonight.
But what we are playing, I think, is germane to the current situation.
The book he wrote for which he was on to promote in this particular conversation was Suicide of a Superpower.
Will America Survive to 2025?
What seemed a bit hyperbolic at the time seems prescient now.
And we are asking ourselves now, are we watching the suicide of this superpower?
And continuing on with this classic interview and Keith tonight with his live commentary, here we go back now to the conversation with Pat.
986-6397.
Only allowed when they do it.
It superpower.
Bestseller, Suicide of a Superpower.
Will America Survive to 2025?
I've got my copy.
Ladies and gentlemen, I want you to get yours.
And you can do so tonight at your local bookstore or online at Amazon.com.
Pat, we were talking about the demographic decline of European stock around the world and here in America.
Every minority group, as you know, in this country, has numerous organizations and representatives who seek to protect and advance their unique group interests.
I find that to be quite natural and healthy.
It's not only allowed when they do it, it is encouraged and applauded.
You discussed this tribalism and suicide of a superpower, and clearly tribalism has empowered minorities in America and Europe.
What happened to the tribal instincts of European Americans?
Well, I think the frankly, it is almost impermissible for folks of European descent really to organize around their ethnicity or not their ethnicity.
There's an Irish caucus, and I think, but in terms of race.
But you have a point, and in the book, I do talk about the Black Caucus in Congress, which organizes and operates on Capitol Hill on government property, and it does not admit white members.
And several whites who have tried to get in, Jonathan Bingham, I believe, and Pete Stark, have been denied admission because they were not African American.
And so is your congressman, if you're in Memphis, Stephen Coyne.
Exactly right.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
I mean, somewhat, I'm unable to understand something like this in the 21st century when anybody who wants to, even the Italian members who want to join the Irish caucus, I'm sure, are welcomed.
Yeah, you know, it's one of the greatest hypocrisies that we have to deal with in modern politics.
African Americans vote 95 plus percent for Barack Obama, and people just shrug and say, well, of course they did.
Why wouldn't they?
You have the Black Congressional Congress.
You have all of these organizations.
And, you know, the NAACP, so on and so forth.
And yet, if whites even hinted to have the sort of same ethnocentric tendencies, then they get denounced with all kinds of harsh language.
You write that those who change society.
I've got you some figures in the book.
That's right.
Yeah, go ahead.
The African American community voted 95 to 4, which is 24 to 1 for Barack Obama, which is astounding.
Even prominent Republicans like take General Powell, who Barack Obama ran denouncing the war that Powell sold to the country, and yet Powell turned against his fellow Vietnam vet to vote for Barack Obama.
And he admitted that his race had something to do with it.
But you know, 85% of white folks in Washington, D.C. or more, voted for Barack Obama, but 85% of white folks in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama voted against Barack Obama.
So I think there is a, and this fellow wrote for the New Yorker Saleh, I believe was his name, he sees a new people emerging in the white community in that people who are constantly sort of under attack and, you know, discriminated against by affirmative action, that eventually they tend to unite around what it is that is being attacked and what they have in their own identity.
And frankly, this is what somewhat concerns me to see the country, if you have no ethno-national core in a country, such as they didn't have in Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia, as soon as they lifted off that repression, those things flew apart into something like 24, 25 countries, whereas Poland stayed together and Germany reunited on ethnic grounds.
And so I fear that this power of this ethnicity and worldwide what's called ethno-nationalism, I fear that this is really the coming force in the world, that in religious fundamentalism, and you can see these tearing countries apart all over the world.
You know, when you talk about the cult of diversity in the book, and this is a follow-up to the topic that we're on, it seems as though the white politicos who are explicitly involved, they seem to work against their own group interests rather than for them as the minorities do.
Again, this chapter that you write on the cult of diversity, I have to ask this question.
Why do white liberals remain entranced by diversity when the social and cultural effects of diversity are almost entirely negative for themselves and their children and grandchildren?
Well, I think there's many people, candidly, who I've been asked on radio that what is wrong if, I mean, why isn't it a really good thing when whites become a minority nationwide and we're all part of minorities?
And I say, you know, this thing, I mean, real problems are attendant to this.
But I think that there are some, if you, James, if you go with the average American, let's take the fellow that does the anti-affirmative action, the civil rights initiative things, and he conducted those which abolished affirmative action in Michigan by referendum, California by referendum, and in Washington by referendum in three states that normally vote Democratic.
So the vast majority of the American people, and even among the young in the Ivy League, there's a feeling that racial preferences and affirmative action are simply unjust because there's a great belief among the young that everybody should have a shot at getting on the team or getting in the band or whatever, but the prize should go to those who are the best and work the hardest.
And the idea that people should be discriminated against, whether they're white, black, Asian, or whatever, because of the color of their skin or where their ancestors come from, I think they find that profoundly offensive.
And so I think the further we go down the road with this affirmative action, especially when now the, I mean, women qualify for affirmative action, Hispanics do, although there was no slavery of Hispanics, and African Americans do, you've got 30% of the country white males who are really the ones who are the victims of affirmative action, not the beneficiaries, and yet they're 30% of the country, but they're 75% of the dead and wounded coming back from Afghanistan.
All right.
Now, listen, that was a fantastic interview.
It goes on much longer than that.
If you want a full and complete copy of it, email me.
We'll send it over to you.
I guess in a way it was God's hand.
We wanted to whet the appetite with that classic conversation.
But we're talking about the ingredients that go into the suicide of a superpower and the destruction of a nation, a nation that tears itself apart.
And we were asking Pat the pointed question, and he was giving us the what for and some great answers.
Keith, I want to give you, though, my friend, the final word of the night.
This, our last show of the Trump era.
Well, what Pat Buchanan was talking about was your question about why is identity politics all right for everybody except for white people, and that is the $64,000 question, or the crucial question, and the reason and the answer is, we should have it, we need to insist upon it.
If we continue to try to argue our position without making reference to identity politics and without feeling that we have a right to say that white people action, we will continue to bring a knife to a gunfight and we'll continue to lose in the tug of war over who gets the goodies in America.
We need this.
If you charge a black person or Hispanic person or a Chinese person or whatever with being a racist because they take position of their race as a touchstone for their position politically on an issue, they look at you like you're crazy.
They say, so what?
Or they'll say, damn right, I am all for my group, okay.
Well, we've got to recapture that being called a racist holds no opprobrium.
No, no fear strikes no fear in the heart of anybody except white people.
What strikes fear in their hearts is being called a race traitor.
That's where we need to go back to.
That's where we were when I was a child in America in the 50s and 60s, and that's where we need to return to.
We need to be people who fear being called a race traitor more than we fear being called a racist, and if you have so-called leaders that don't feel this way, that should be the litmus test.
If they're not willing to fight for you as a white person in a multiracial spoil system which is what the American government has become then they don't deserve to represent You.
You need to have someone who doesn't quail from the identification of themselves as a white advocate.
Can you think of a black congressman or woman that would be afraid of being having it said about them that they were an advocate for their fellow blacks?
Of course not.
Ladies and gentlemen, the last four years of the Trump administration, it's been an honor to be with you.
It will be an honor to be with you next week as well.
It is an honor to be with you whenever we are together and through the lean times and the fat times.
For the last 16 years we have been together.
God wills it, Jesus Terries will be together for many more to come.
For Sam Dixon, for Kevin McDonald, for Keith Alexander the Great, I am James Edwards.
We'll see you next week.
Good night, everybody.
