You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is the Political Cesspool.
The Political Cesspool, going across the South and worldwide, as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the political cesspool is your host, James Edwards.
On Wednesday night, everything that we had planned in advance for this show, our last show before Christmas, was scrapped.
Except for this wonderful music.
And I hope you're enjoying it tonight as I am, and as much as I am.
As we continue on with our coverage of what happened in Memphis with regard to the Nathan Bedford Forest Monument and the Jefferson Davis statue, we shouldn't forget that as well.
We now have joining us Gene Andrews, a great friend of mine, a man who has spoken at our two most recent events in 2014 and 17, respectively, our anniversary events.
Born and raised in Nashville, Gene served as a combat officer with the 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam.
He also served in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Back in the States, he played football and ran track for the Marine Corps and was invited to try out for the Cincinnati Bengals football camp.
Gene coached football and track in high school, where he also taught history during a time when they allowed actual history to be taught in schools.
Gene is now retired and works as the caretaker of the Nathan Bedford Forest home in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
He's also a former commander of the Tennessee Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Gene, Merry Christmas.
James, Merry Christmas to you, but it's not quite the Christmas we had hoped for.
And I can't think of a worse Christmas that I've ever been involved in.
And that includes Christmas 1969 in Vietnam.
So not quite the year we had hoped for.
No, it's not, Gene.
It was like a gut punch.
Gene, this is Keith Alexander.
I mean, I was preparing for my annual Christmas party and in a bullion spirit.
And then, I mean, this just has cast a pall over the entire holiday as far as I'm concerned.
And I'm sure you and James and most of our listeners are concerned.
And Gene, of course, I talked to you just before we got on the air tonight.
And you were a last-minute addition to the program, but one that was much needed and necessary.
So as you know, we covered everything that happened in the first hour.
Where do we go from here?
Where would you like to see it go from here?
Well, this goes back about four or five years.
I had spoken with some of the fellows in Memphis with the Sons of Confederate Veterans there.
They were going through another battle with the Aborigines there over the forest statue and the Confederate parks.
And I said to them, you know, if worst comes to worst, you have a plan B.
We could move the forest statue and the graves and any other Confederate monuments and get them out of there and move them to the Nathan Bedford Forest home at Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
We've got 57 acres.
It's owned by the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
It's private property.
We can put up whatever we want there.
And then if people come on that property, private property, and try to vandalize those monuments or try to do something to get them removed, they're on private property.
And the Marine Corps told us when you're on sentry duty, you order them once to halt, and if they don't, then you shoot to kill.
And you don't fire warning shots and start spraying rounds all over the area.
That's not what you're going to do.
So I would say, you know, we could throw down the gauntlet and say, okay, you don't like our monuments out in public on government land.
We're going to put them on our own land, and you better stay away from it.
Okay, see, then.
Yeah, go ahead.
Go ahead.
The fellas in Memphis said, well, that's fine.
We appreciate your offer, but Forrest lived, and he died in Memphis and is buried here.
And, of course, it was a beautiful, fantastic ceremony there in 1905 when they moved the general and his wife out to Forrest Park.
And that was a good part of town at that time.
And they wanted to keep him there.
And I said, okay, so I haven't said anything since then.
I don't want to keep beating a dead horse and keep nagging and whining.
And then all of this came up.
And when people started calling me Wednesday night and saying, what do we do?
What do we do?
I said, look, I live in Nashville.
I'm three and a half hours away.
I can't, by the time if I got down there, everything would be over with.
So I still say we go back to getting our monuments, even the ones that haven't already been moved, off of government land.
The government is not our friend.
Local governments, and especially city governments and governments in college towns, those, the cities and the college towns attract the crazies.
They attract the liberals, the low IQ minorities, and the corruption.
And we are fighting an uphill battle.
And I don't care how many court cases you win, just like they won one case right after another in Memphis, they still came in there and cut a midnight deal to get those monuments out of there.
Okay, Gene, hold up right there.
So again, we're stuck between fighting for our ancestors, fighting to win, versus putting them in a place where they would be respected and could rest in peace.
Keith, what is your position on what should happen going forward if we could script it ourselves, which we can't because right now you've got them in the hands of Van Turner and his Shell Corporation being held hostage in some undisclosed location.
But what would you like to see happen if we could write it?
Well, as far as we're concerned, I think with this show, our ideal situation would be to put them back and to stand up for the rights of our ancestors.
The sons of Confederate veterans are chartered to protect and preserve our Confederate heritage.
And this will be the ultimate acid test of whether they are worthy of their charge or whether they are a bunch of guys more properly suited to holding Christmas parties and cracking corny jokes there or whether they are really going to defend us.
Let me say this, too.
Let me say this about our, you know, moving them out to a more rural area.
Unfortunately, that is the white solution to everything.
White flight is basically the reason why we have this problem now, because white people decamped from Memphis and moved, as Sam Dixon said, one exit further down the expressway and then one further exit, then one further exit than that.
That's why Memphis now is a majority black city, and that's why the majority black city can vote to remove these monuments.
If people had stayed put the way that they, the original reaction to school integration was to have segregation academies in every church's Sunday school building and to stay put in the fine homes and the fine architecture that we have in a place like Memphis rather than moving out to some ubiquitous suburb where you live in a house that was thrown up by a crew of Mexicans over the weekend.
That would be a lot better solution as far as I'm concerned.
But see, also, Rumor has it that they've already determined where they're going to move those statues.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Now, this is, I'd like to get Gene's opinion on this.
And then when we come back in the next segment, we're going to continue to talk about what may happen and what we would like to happen.
And there is no consensus on this.
And I've talked to Michael Hill.
Michael Hill called me.
Richard Spencer called me.
I talked with Rich, the chairman of the League of the South here in the state of Tennessee.
We have now on the phone Gene Andrews.
And I can, and there's no consensus.
In fact, there are varying opinions, and I can subscribe to each of them in different ways.
But very quickly, Keith, I'd like to get Gene's response on this.
Well, we'll get it when we come back.
By God, there's not ever enough time.
Gene, stay tuned.
I know you're with us another segment.
We're going to hear what Keith is hearing from local sources.
Sources, let's just put it that way, about where these statues may end up.
And we're going to see what you would think about that, Gene, and then we'll continue on with this conversation in a more broad sense.
Stay tuned, everybody.
Are you familiar with the term vigor?
Strength in body and mind?
He pursued his tennis game with vigor, for example.
Well, I hadn't, but I learned about it from Kurt Crosby.
All right, and he actually let me take a scientifically proven free vigor test.
And I got 13 out of 32, not very good.
But I worked on it with him, and believe it or not, now I have a 29 out of 32 and improving vigor score.
You say, Sam, what on earth is this scientific vigor score, huh?
My response is, you got to take the free test available now.
Get a hold of Kurt Crosby to learn about it.
The number's 801-669-2211.

Believe me
when I tell you, ladies and gentlemen, it was a better day and age when hymns and Christmas carols like Good King Wenceslas were being written.
What a wonderful traditional English hymn.
We are with Gene Andrews right now, a warrior in Vietnam, in Charlottesville, a former commander of the Tennessee Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and now the caretaker of Nathan Bedford Forrest Childhood Home in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
As I mentioned before the break, talk to Michael Hill, Richard Spencer, that they both called me.
The opinions about what to do are everything from a public demonstration to let's see what the Tennessee legislature can do.
Talk to, of course, Gene.
By the way, Rich Hamblin of the Rich Hamblin tells me to tell you hello, Gene.
Oh, great.
Yes.
Rich is a great guy.
That's a bad veteran from Charlottesville, too.
That's absolutely right.
I tell you, Rich and Janice, you don't get any better than them.
I mean, they've kept us on the air, quite literally.
They're fine.
Fine people.
As are you.
Now, so there is a lot of different options about where to go.
I think it makes sense to see what the state legislature can do here.
Because if you have a public rally, the reason would be to put pressure on the government, but you've already got the government doing something.
Now, Keith has kept his ear to the ground, and this is what he's getting from his sources.
And then we're going to get Gene's response to that.
Yeah, the scuttlebutt is that if they cannot replace the statues where they were meant to be exhibited in former Confederate Park and former Forest Park, that the Jefferson Davis statue would go to Mississippi to the Beauvoir Memorial on the Gulf Coast, the last home of Jefferson Davis, and the Forrest statue would go to SCV headquarters property in Columbia, Tennessee.
So I'm just passing that along for whatever it's worth.
Worth.
Oh, no.
And what would you say to that, Gene, if that is in fact how it plays out, if we can get the statues back in our possession at all?
And again, continue on with your commentary about what you'd like to see happen and why.
Well, I'm not in disagreement with Keith.
Before the break, he was talking about, you know, fighting the fight right there and digging in.
I agree with him in principle, and I don't want him to think that I'm disagreeing with him personally.
I don't want him to jump through the phone and beat me up here two days before, which I probably could do with one hand tied behind his back.
But I agree with him in principle.
Yes, I don't want to give in on anything.
Dig in, and, you know, they say, is this the hill you want to die on?
And for our Confederate heroes, yes, this is the hill I want to make my last stand on.
But then we have to look at it practically.
I would think that would be excellent.
Move the Davis statue down to Beauvoir.
That's owned by the Mississippi Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans.
And then move the fire statue and the graves, if possible, if that's agreeable to the Forrest family, to SCV headquarters at Elm Springs in Columbia, Tennessee.
I just think if we're trying to do battle with these inner cities, that is an uphill battle.
Not only do you have the minority population against us, you have the local government against us, you have the local police department against us, and it's already been proven they just ignore the law and they do what they want to.
So if you want to have a demonstration there, we would be arrested just for showing up.
The police would give you absolutely no protection, just like they gave us no protection in Charlottesville, and they just sat there with their thumb stuck up a certain cavity in their body.
So you can't count on the local police, and you can't count on the local government, and you can't count on the judicial system in these cities to give you any help at all.
So in principle, yes, I agree with Keith that we want to make the fight, but I don't know we're going to expend a lot of money and a lot of energy, and I don't know that we're going to get anything out of it.
Okay.
Gene, let me reply to some of that.
First of all, the Memphis Police Department is not like the Charlottesville Police Department.
They're worse.
No, really, we went out to, after our convention in Memphis, on the Sunday morning, we went out to the statue.
But she gave the speech then.
He does.
Right.
And you know about the police officer that was there.
I can tell you that most of the time.
Most of the white police officers in Memphis are in sympathy with us.
Of course, they can't really buck the system.
With Black Lives Matter on the Memphis Bridge while they're committing felonies.
Well, the thing is, their leadership, they have a black police commissioner here in Memphis.
They are on the left-hand side.
Now, most black citizens in Memphis could care less.
If you asked them, what would you rather have, move the Forrest and Jefferson Davis statues or have a Snicker bar, they would go for a Snicker bar.
But, you know, there's a small group, maybe 5%, that virulently hate white people and white culture and white cultural icons like these statues, and they're leading the charge.
Now, here's one thing, though, I want to say before we get off of this.
I think that the best thing that we can do, basically what happens to the statues is going to be what happens to the statues.
But we need to make sure that the Republican lawmakers and elected officials that either winked at this or supported it pay at the ballot box.
I think the SCV needs to run a slate of candidates, both in the primary and in the general elections that are coming up in May and in August against these traitors, these people that betrayed their base, and they need to learn the lesson that black politicians have learned, which is that if you betray your base, you have no future in politics.
I am so torn.
Gene, as I told you on the phone after I got to the studio tonight, I am so torn.
On one hand, you have the case where these people are desecrating the graves, the literal bones of our heroes.
And if it's our fathers today, it's going to be our children tomorrow.
The only thing more degrading and debasing than allowing them to get away with the desecration of your hero's grave is if they came in and raped your wife and children in front of you.
I think it's that may be next.
And so there's that.
So on one end, you want to say, by God, we're not going to give an inch.
We're going to fight.
We're going to keep him here.
And there's nothing you're going to do about it.
We're going to fight with everything we've got.
On the other hand, as I told you personally, if it was my father, my grandfather, and I consider Forrest to be family, but if it was my biological father or my great-great-grandfather who fought with Forrest at Shiloh, I would say, get him out of there, put him in a place where he can rest in peace, where you don't have these thugs.
I don't know that they're sitting on him and defecating on him and vandalizing his grave every day.
That's what we're torn against.
Gene, you're answering that.
Well, here, let me just say this, too.
Also, Theodore Roosevelt said it well.
He said, a man that will not defend the graves of his ancestors is beyond redemption.
And King George IV, when it was time to try to take over from his mad father, George III, said, a man who diminishes his ancestors diminishes his own people.
Yeah, but none of them said that living in a 70% black city.
Gene, your response.
Well, once again, I agree with Keith in principle that we want to dig our heels in.
But most people have a job.
We're not like our opposition.
We don't live off the government and the government don't.
So we have jobs we have to go to.
We have families we have to take care of.
We cannot stand guard out there 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and protect it.
And that's what it's going to take.
I don't know where we're going to get the recruits or the paramilitary people to be there to protect these statues.
And that is exactly what we're doing.
Well, here's what would happen, Gene.
We have the state of Tennessee, the state legislature hates Memphis with a gem-like flame, okay?
The representative from Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, said that Memphis was a ward on the body politic of Tennessee recently.
Now, I think we could have Tennessee state troopers guarding it.
Quite frankly, after they arrested a bunch of these take them down.com protesters at Forrest Statue and they spent the weekend in jail, we had no more problems.
We had one policeman on duty at both of those places and there wasn't any more of these depredations.
So I don't think it's going to take massive protection.
I think all it takes is for the state to take over those parks.
But again, how far is the state legislature willing to go?
We don't know.
We'll see what the state legislature does.
We have done huge rallies there in the past.
We can do it again.
All options are on the table.
But we've got to be sober.
We've got to be vigilant.
We've got to make smart decisions.
And Gene, there was one thing you brought up to me on the phone.
If you can stay just through the break, at the top of the next segment, there's a point you want to make about the very last public gathering that ever took place at Forest Park.
This is something everybody that's a TPC listener needs to hear.
We'll get it from Gene at the top of the next segment.
Stay tuned, everybody.

Ladies and gentlemen, what is the KQ?
You know, the kosher question.
Most Americans purchase their groceries while having no idea that almost every essential food product on the shelves is certified kosher by one of over a thousand rabbinical agencies across the country.
Indeed, the kosher question encompasses not only food and religion, but also affects our economics and politics.
In an effort to promote awareness to this kosher question, developers have recently published an app for your smartphone that will not only educate users on this little-known phenomenon, but also features a database of food products that have not been kosher certified.
The CoCertified app has prominent advertisements on TPC's homepage, or you can check out its website at co-certified.com.

Oh, yeah, oh.
He's coming tomorrow, everybody.
You better believe it.
He's coming to see my daughter and son anyway.
I think they've been good enough.
Not tomorrow now.
Well, he comes on Christmas Eve.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, he does.
You're right.
You're right.
I thought Christmas Day.
It depends on whether he comes before midnight.
That's right.
I don't think he gets too far south before midnight.
It depends on what time zone you're in there.
All right.
Hey, listen, we're running a little late here, and we've already got our next guest, Jared Taylor, on the line.
But there was one thing I wanted, Gene Andrews, and Gene and Jared were both speakers at our anniversary event in October, the 13th anniversary for the program.
And Gene, as much as I've read about this Nathan Bedford Forest situation, I've read everything that's been published about it, and we know things behind the scenes, and we've talked to people behind the scenes.
So we're as informed as you could possibly be.
But there was one thing that Gene mentioned to me right before we went on the air tonight that I had not considered.
Gene, please share that with the audience.
Well, I thought it was just kind of ironic that when we had our celebration of the anniversary of the political cesspool back in October from the 20th through the 22nd, on Sunday morning, the 22nd, we went to Forest Park and we had a ceremony out there and gave the history of the monument and how it's put up and funds raised for it and everything with private funds.
And, you know, then it dawned on me when we heard all this coming apart Wednesday night.
The last official function that was held at Forest Park was the political cesspool.
And in support of it.
Really interesting to look at that.
And I know there have been individuals that have been out there since then, but as a group and as an organization, the political cesspool was the last one that was there officially.
And I might add, Gene Andrews was the last official speaker to give an additional keynote speaker.
And even the officials from the police department approved of your message.
Okay, but we were doing pretty good till you brought that up.
Maybe cut to a commercial break right there.
Hey, Gene, thank you for coming on tonight.
Merry Christmas, brother.
And thank you for bringing that to my attention, that it is true, especially for those who are with us for that event.
And it was a private event, but the last official group to rally by the monument, and the last speaker was the political cesspool of Gene Andrews.
Thank you, Gene, for bringing that to my attention and for making that obvious.
Well, I hope someday I can go back there and speak at Forest Park in front of the Forrest Statue again.
Amen, brother.
Hey, have a Merry Christmas, and we'll talk to you again soon.
Another person that was there for us that rainy day in October was none other than Jared Taylor.
Jared, you remember the day?
Yes, I do.
Yes, I do.
I'm very privileged to have seen that statue in all its glory.
While it was still there, and I'm glad that we were able to do that right before this desecration and able to give the people that were at that event, wonderful people, the opportunity.
So it's been a bad week in Memphis.
It hasn't been a particularly, well, maybe it has been a good week for you overall, but there have been some setbacks.
One of the primary things we were going to talk about originally before this happened on Wednesday was the Twitter purge.
And for the interest of our audience, three of the biggest heads to roll on Twitter were the heads of Brad Griffin and Michael Hill, but none bigger than Jared Taylor in terms of followers between Jared Taylor's personal Twitter account and the account of American Renaissance, almost 80,000 followers in play there.
So the Twitter purge seemed to hit TPC.
It's interesting that of those three, all three were speakers at the event that Gene just mentioned.
So Jared, tell us what happened.
Well, we knew that December 18th, the hammer was going to fall.
They were going to make a clean sweep of offensiveness and hatred and all this other stuff that they think they can't stand.
I was naive enough to think that because I think I'm a pretty well-behaved guy and not vituperative and behave myself and just put out facts and express measured opinions that I might survive.
But I did not.
And I got a notice on the very day that the new policy went into effect saying that my account had been suspended.
So there is an appeals procedure, and I followed the appeals procedure, and I said I'd like to know why.
And you could have knocked me down to the feather when the answer came back.
They said that I am, quote, affiliated with a violent extremist group.
Now, who, pray tale?
I don't know if by that they mean American Renaissance or if I'm affiliated with some other group like the political cesspool.
Well, you know, I am the leader of the Klan.
So I understand.
Yeah, yeah, according to the Detroit Times or whatever it is.
Well, according to a federal judge, for heaven's sake.
No.
I just can't fathom this.
I wrote them back and I said, well, your information is mistaken.
I think if you look into it, you'll find that I've never had anything to do with violence.
No group I've ever been associated with has been violent or countenanced violence or proposed violence or anything of the sort.
So this is a real bafflement to me, and I really don't know what to do about it.
Now, I've been talking to some lawyers about the possibility of doing something about this, but it's probably premature to say anything definitive.
But this really is, I think it would be very, very difficult for any lawyer, no matter how slick, to convince a jury that I was somehow affiliated with violence or violent groups.
Oddly enough, the American Renaissance account, this is in the name of American Renaissance.
When we appealed the suspension of that account, they got exactly the same reply, the same text word for word.
Affiliation with a violent extremist group.
So if American Renaissance is affiliated with a violent extremist group, maybe American Renaissance is not itself the violent extremist group.
But I'd love to know who they're thinking of, if that's the argument.
In any case, there have been a number of people who have pointed out that in some respects I'm one of the better behaved and almost some people consider me almost, I don't know, the tame opposition of the racialist, the racialist-oriented right.
But some people suggested that perhaps they went after me because insofar as American Renaissance and myself, we are measured and reasonable.
They thought that we were perhaps more dangerous than people who tend to be wilder and who were less plausible and less convincing.
I don't know.
That's a flattering explanation.
So I just don't know.
But of course, Twitter is not the first.
Facebook destroyed the American Renaissance account, and YouTube has quarantined a number of our videos.
Facebook recently suspended my personal account for 30 days because I talked about crime statistics in Sweden and not just in the United States.
So the other side really appears to be running scared.
And I think they have realized that they cannot refute us.
They cannot refute us because we are right.
And so their only alternative is to silence us.
Well, I tell you, Jared, I think the only thing you can take away from this is that it is a measure of your effectiveness.
I was hoping to join you in Twitter Heaven, but I have not yet been sent there.
And you look, the way that they went about this was very haphazard and very random.
Richard Spencer's still on Twitter.
David Duke's still on Twitter.
I mean, all of the people that you thought might be purged from this are still on there.
And really, the three biggest names in America that were purged were Jared Taylor, Brad Griffin, and Michael Hill.
And they're the most civil people, I think, in the movie.
I think that the more civil you are, the more of an irritant you are to the left.
We've been called the Lawrence Welk show of the alt-right before, and apparently, you know, we're still on Twitter.
But on the other hand, we did get, you know, that decision that we're talking about that was totally made up.
You know, I've not spoken to either Brad Griffin or Michael Hill, but do you know whether they have appealed their suspensions and what the explanation was that was?
Well, you know, it's interesting you asked that because, Jared, originally, before all of this happened with Forrest so unexpectedly on Wednesday here in our very city, which, of course, we had to make room to cover, both Michael Hill and Brad were scheduled to be on the show with you.
This was going to be sort of our centerpiece.
And instead, it had to get pushed a little bit.
We still wanted to have you on because it is significant.
But no, I don't know that.
And I had intended to ask them that while they were on the air, and we had to push it for the Forrest thing, and so we'll have to follow up on that next week.
So I don't know exactly where that's going to go or what happened with them.
We will continue to follow up on it.
But I would ask you this, Jared, because we had to cut everything down this week because of the circumstances.
We will continue to cover this, and we will continue to keep an eye on it.
But how can people put a little gift in your stocking this Christmas to help make American Renaissance's Christmas a little better in light of what Twitter?
You've got a book available.
People can donate at Amran.com.
The website's still there.
And of course, you're still doing your great work.
Yes.
Well, thank you very much.
I know we would be very appreciative if anybody wanted to put something other than ashes and switches in our stocking, as Brother James.
Or lumber coal.
Yes.
We are at Amran A-M-R-E-N.com, and donations to American Renaissance are fully tax deductible.
We'd be very grateful for any help.
It is absolutely infuriating that we have been treated this way.
It makes a mockery of the idea that we are a land that loves freedom of expression.
Well, and yeah, so all the enemies are out to get Jared to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube.
So he must be doing something right and he needs your support.
We encourage you to support him.
Jared, I appreciate you being so gracious and understanding.
We moved everything back an hour, then an hour and a half to compensate for the forest situation.
I appreciate you being amenable.
And we will talk to you again soon, my friend.
And Merry Christmas to you.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and everybody at the Bolivian Festival.
As the United States boldly stepped forward in the glorious light provided by its new constitution in 1787, the nations of the earth were in awe of the newfound strength and hope of this free land.
Today, the nation stands at a crossroads.
A divergence from the original intent put forth in the United States Constitution has brought grave threats to our beloved nation.
A miracle is needed if the United States is to survive.
That miracle is again the pure application of the United States Constitution.
I'm Scott Bradley.
In my To Preserve the Nation book and lecture series, I bring forth truths that will help raise up a new generation of statesmen like those noble Americans who founded this land.
Vigorous application of these principles will invigorate and restore the nation, and we may become again the freest, most prosperous, most respected, and happiest nation on earth.
Visit topreservethenation.com to begin that restoration.
Okay, girls, about finished with your lesson on money?
Daddy, what is a buy-sell spread for gold coins?
Well, when you sell a gold coin to a coin shop that's worth, say, $1,200, you don't actually get $1,200.
But don't worry, we're members of UPMA now, so we don't have to worry about that.
Daddy, why somebody steals that gold?
We don't have any gold at the house.
It's stored safely in the UPMA vault, securely and insured.
But the SP 500 outperformed gold.
Daddy, gold is a bad investment.
Some people do think of it that way, but actually, gold is money.
And as members of the United Precious Metals Association, we can use our gold at any store, just like a credit card.
Or I can ask them to drop it right into Mommy and Daddy's bank account because we're a UPMA member family.

Welcome back,
everybody.
Busy show.
Spiritual.
I mean, this is the show right before Christmas, so it's a wonderful show.
And actually, one of the things we're going to do in the third hour is we're going to put all of this aside right now, as hard as it is to do.
And we're going to spend a little time together.
We're going to spend a time of togetherness, and it's going to be in celebration of Christmas and what Christmas means to our people.
And we're also going to have an extended dip into the Political Cesspool's mailbag, things that have come into us, Christmas cards from around the world, and notes of good cheer and happy tidings.
And we're going to read a lot of that in the third hour.
So the third hour, we're going to put down our swords just for one hour to celebrate the fact that we do still have each other, even in these dark days.
But before we do that, to help us do that, I guess I should say, is Jack Ryan.
And we've really had a lot of fun incorporating and integrating Jack Ryan into the bullpen here and into the rotation.
And Jack's been with us enjoyed what he's been able to bring to the program.
And as you know, with Jack Ryan, we're still working on our rhythm.
But one of the things Jack does every week is he offers us a weekly recommendation, a book recommendation, a movie recommendation, and a musical recommendation.
So we're going to get to that first, and then we're going to get to his topic of choice for the evening, which he selects for his segment each and every week.
Jack, first, Merry Christmas, my friend, and what are the recommendations this week?
Okay, Merry Christmas to you, to all of our listeners.
But I also want to just say a Merry Christmas to the regular black African American folks in Memphis and also in my former area of Chicago.
It's very black American.
And most of our people there are Christians.
And this cultural Marxism, this Kwanza stuff, this destroying Confederate thing, that's been brought down to them.
Regular black Americans are not pushing this.
This is sort of something that's been taken away from them.
So I want to wish all these people a traditional Merry Christmas to them.
Sure.
Okay, so the musical recommendations.
Okay.
I know that you really like a lot of those British Invasion early 60s music, Herman's Hermanns and stuff, and Beach Boys.
I like that too.
But I also, I really like the late 60s, 70s R ⁇ B Soul, Motown Blues type disk.
So my recommendations for music tonight is the temptations mix of it's a montage in Silent Night is the version of that, which I think is a very traditional Christian song, but it's very soulful.
It's very beautiful.
So that's my musical recommendation.
Okay, do you got a book and a movie tonight for us?
Actually, I don't have a book tonight other than the New Testament Bible there.
You know, the version is Christ's Mass, the Christ Mass.
So that's my recommendation.
Okay, the movie recommendation that I have is Holiday Inn, which I actually haven't seen the whole movie, just a trailer.
It's with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, though they have a very good Broadway remake of it, which I've seen on TBS.
And then it's a show, the Radio City Rocket's Christmas Spectacular.
So this ties in very much into the war on Christmas and how this is being done.
This is a very influential movie holiday, and the music was written by Irving Berlin, White Christmas, and Easter Parade or something like that.
It's beautiful music, but it's also, you know, it's kind of controversial because it was taking away the Christian side of Christmas and making it more of a holiday or something like that.
So I recommend folks like that watch it.
I think the Broadway revision that I've seen is also excellent.
The Radio City Roquette, it's spectacular.
It's fantastic.
And it does have a traditional Christmas with the child being born on Christmas.
Anyone ever sees that?
I think it's really one of the best shows that I've ever seen.
I tell you, Jack, you got to come down.
We've got to get you back in Memphis.
Now, I know you've been here.
We were just talking about this earlier in the program, earlier this hour, even with Jared Taylor and Gene Andrews, who were both with us in 2014 and 2017 at our 10th and 13th respective anniversaries.
You were there for both events as well.
And we got to get you back down here, though.
I think with regards to your movie taste, you got to get with Keith Alexander.
I was at his house last night for his Christmas party, his annual party.
His house, of course, is more like a keep, like a medieval keep.
And he doesn't have a single movie that exists on DVD.
I mean, he's got the, every movie he's got is VHS, and that's it.
So it doesn't last as long.
You know, the technology, we've had tremendous improvements in technology.
Well, no, I'm just saying the movies that he have, they didn't make on DVD.
They don't exist on DVD.
These movies are terrible.
They're garbage.
The technology's been good.
And then, so, no, so one of my recommendations, this is a basic one, is to try to turn off your television and try to just no Christmas movies this year.
There's not a single Christmas movie, whether it's a Christian Christmas movie or a holiday in, you know, singing and stuff.
They've got stuff on Watergate trying to bring up this stuff.
It's just dreadful.
So what you want to get is the Netflix DVD account or just a good public library account where you can go and rent movies.
And if you've got the film there from the last 80 years, there are good music.
The best movies are from the 30s until through the 50s.
And so you can have that.
And then you can get good movies.
And that's what I would recommend that people do.
Keith would definitely agree with you on that.
Okay, that being said, now, again, what we're going to be doing and what we have been doing with Jack's segments each and every week since he was brought on board officially at the beginning of the month, he's going to give you these recommendations.
Then he's going to have a topic that is his pick each week.
And his topic for tonight is, or his theme for tonight, is the War Against Christmas.
It's nothing new, but we have had some small victories and a new slash old enemy.
What do you mean by that, Jack?
What do you have to do?
The War Against Christmas, it's a 100-year anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution coup d'état in Russia.
I mentioned that I'm a Midwestern Christian, but one of my grandfathers was from Russia.
He was a teenager.
These Bolshevik communist atheists actually went in the streets of St. Petersburg and other Russian Christian citizens, cities, and they tore down statues of priests and czars.
They invaded Russian Orthodox churches, and they had, they took over the place.
And so they did a real war against Christmas that they attacked Christians, took over the country, starved like two million Christian peasants in Ukraine and stuff like that.
So that's a major war against Christmas.
And people in the South are now getting their attacks, their statues attacked and things like that.
That's what's happening there.
But we haven't had millions of people.
Well, this Keith Alexander, Jack, what you're saying just reminds me of the old saying that the more things change, the more they stay the same, right?
They stay the same.
But I was saying, like, we've been through worse, you know, the things like that.
So my grandfather fought in the white army in the Russian Civil War against these Bolshevik communist type of things.
So we've had lots of rough things going on.
Statues and graves being decreed, but we haven't had a million Christian farmers in Tennessee being starved to death yet.
Okay.
Well, yeah, right.
Like I say, hide and watch.
You know, I don't think we've seen the end of this with the cultural Marxist.
Right.
You know, it had, but we've gone through worse.
But, okay.
So, but now the next war against Christmas, it came in the 30s and 40s that Christmas was a religious holiday for American Christians.
It was the birth of Jesus Christ and Christmas.
And so in the 40s, there was this tinpin alley in Hollywood.
So they tried to make Christmas into this winter festival of dancing and singing, and that's holiday in.
And a lot of the Christian churches opposed that, that it was not Christmas anymore.
It was there.
But again, but these are not really hostile, vicious attacks.
It changed, you know, Christmas, but also Holiday Inn.
They made Easter instead of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
They turned it into a fashion holiday, Easter parade or something.
So that's a war against Christ.
Peter Rabbit or whatnot, you know, the Easter bunny.
Yeah, they had it.
But then the change came, and it was early 90s.
Wow.
Time flies when you get past 30s.
Like 1991, that was, you know, like 25 years ago.
We noticed that not only in our cities, there was their immigration anarchy, criminal anarchy, sexual anarchy, pornography, but there is this war against Christmas that you couldn't say Merry Christmas.
You couldn't have a Christmas party.
You couldn't do these things.
And then the holiday, not only were they not doing religious Christmas movies, there was vicious Hollywood movies that were just attacking our people, just vicious movies like Bad Santa.
And these are all Harvey Weinstein movies.
The Butcher Boy, 1998.
It's about a young boy who's molested by a priest in a reform school, and he's fascinated by delusional fantasies about a foulmouth virgin Mary.
Black Christmas, 2006, it's a slasher film.
So these war against Christmas, it's not just they're changing it from a religious Christian holiday to like a happy singing, you know, there.
They're just doing vicious Marxist pornography.
Blasphemous.
Yeah.
Well, I think James had the ultimate word on this recently.
He had an article and he said, why is there a war on Christmas and Christianity?
It's because Christmas and Christianity are associated with white people.
I'll tell you what, Jack Ryan is the only, well, I can't.
Look, everybody on the staff is great, but Jack Ryan leaves me wanting more.
There's never enough time with Jack.
Jack is one that I wish we could always extend to another segment.
Jack, we're out of time.
Merry Christmas.
We'll talk to you next week.
We'll last show before the new year.
This is our last show before Christmas.
Last show before the new year is next week, year in review show.
