You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is the Political Cesspool.
The Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the Political Cesspool is your host, James Edwards.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both.
And be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other just as fair and having perhaps the better claim because it was grassy and wanted wear.
Though as for that, the passing there had warned them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay in leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day.
Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh, somewhere ages and ages hence, two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Political Cesspool Radio Program.
We are live tonight.
It's the 4th of July.
A national holiday.
Doesn't matter.
I'm here live this evening with you.
I'm coming to work anyway.
And I'm glad that you're with me.
The fireworks are going to begin in our studio tonight.
I took the road less traveled.
And if you're tuned in to this show tonight, you did as well.
And we're standing on God's side.
And I'm happy to be there.
I'm happy to be with you.
You know, I had originally planned to play a Buchanan Palooza tonight.
We were going to go back into our broadcast archives and pick out three of the shows, three of the interviews we conducted with Pat Buchanan.
And we found out about a month ago, I guess, when we started looking ahead on the calendar that the 4th of July falls on a Saturday this year.
And originally, before everything happened over the course of the last couple of weeks with the attack on the Confederate flag, the Supreme Court decision, the shootings in Charleston, we were originally planning on taking off tonight entirely and spending it with our families because, after all, it is Independence Day.
That's what you do.
And we're going to play some of these old tapes with Pat.
But with everything going on tonight, ladies and gentlemen, I need to be here.
And I'm glad to be here tonight.
Obviously, I never want to be apart from you.
This is a very significant part of my life.
And whether it's a holiday or whatever, you're still family to me as well.
And don't worry, I'm going to be home tonight before the fireworks start.
I'm not going to miss out shooting fireworks with my wife and son and daughter.
I'm actually going to leave the studio halfway through the program tonight.
We're going to rebroadcast the last half of last week's show, during which we had, I think, was a very passionate and stirring defense of the South and the flag under which her heroes fought.
And it got a tremendous amount of feedback from the audience.
And I think that's an appropriate thing to do this evening.
So we're going to do that.
I'm going to be here for the first hour and a half live.
And then halfway through the second hour, we're going to play the last hour and a half of last week's show.
If that makes sense, if not, just listen to the show and you'll find out as it goes on what we're doing.
But nevertheless, we'll be back in the studio for a normal three-hour show next week.
And we hope that you will be there with us and enjoy that as well.
But first, before we get started tonight, and I actually came in tonight because I have a lot of good news.
Yes, we're under siege.
Yes, we're under attack.
But tonight's going to be pretty much nothing but good news.
We have answered the volley.
Southerners, Christians, good people across the country are beginning to answer the volley.
And I just couldn't wait a week to share this news with you.
We just couldn't have a week where we played a rebroadcast for the entire show under the circumstances.
But before I get to any of that, I want to say this right out of the gate.
Just a quick note, ladies and gentlemen, to tell you that I have never before been so proud of my audience.
During the heat of the attack last week, you rallied like furies and provided us with the support needed to carry on.
Our second quarter fundraising appeal was a success.
It's going to give us the operational breathing room that will carry us through the summer.
And I want to thank you so much for that, dear friends.
Ladies and gentlemen, we thank you from the bottom of my heart because this program has been a catalyst for the revival and the survival of our people for a long time.
And we are beginning to see the fruits of our labor bloom like never before.
And I mean that outside of this broadcast studio.
Things are happening.
And I'm going to share that with you over the course of the next hour and a half that I think you have to draw inspiration from.
But if you draw inspiration and encouragement from this show, rest assured that we draw twice as much from you.
And I encourage you to have hope.
Our people are showing signs of waking up.
And it is our responsibility that they are roused.
And that's why I'm here tonight.
We make a great team together.
And I, for one, am looking forward to the future.
I don't fear the future.
I look forward to it.
This thing is not over yet.
I posted at thepolitical cesspool.org one of the most uplifting blog entries that I can ever remember.
It's entitled, We Will Not Bow Down.
Confederate Flag Rallies Erupt Across Dixie.
Last week, last Saturday night, when we were on the show, thousands of people, and this was unbeknownst to me even during the broadcast, I found out the next day, but thousands of people in cities all across the South, black, some black, obviously mostly white, but there were some black people as there as well.
Men and women, children assembled across several states to demand their heritage and symbols be restored and respected.
The largest rally was in Montgomery, Alabama.
That one alone had over 1,000 people.
And we've got pictures of these rallies on our website.
Check them out.
All of these people proudly waving the Confederate battle flag.
There were speeches.
There were music.
You remember when we sang Dixie at the 10-year anniversary event in Memphis last October, how moving that was.
Imagine all of these people while under fire singing this.
We got video of these people singing this on our website right now, a thunderous rendition of Dixie that brought many of those gathered to the point of joyful and patriotic tears.
As the waves of discontent over cultural Marxist genocide continue to grow stronger, these reports are rolling in.
It was a wild week of pro-Southern activism.
As I mentioned, a thousand people turned out with battle flags in hand in Montgomery, Alabama.
Over 300 turned out in Tampa, Florida.
We've got pictures of all of this, ladies and gentlemen.
You've got to look at these pictures.
150 people showed up in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Several dozens in Columbia, South Carolina.
You cannot buy a Confederate flag in this country this week, not because they've been banned by retailers like Walmart and Kmart and Amazon and eBay, places like that.
No, those are the enemies.
Those are the enemy retailers.
I'm talking about even in the hundreds of small Southern-themed shops across the South.
Dixie Republic, one of our flagship sponsors of this radio program, they have completely taken their website offline because there is no inventory.
It's all gone.
They are sold out of the store.
They sold the shelves.
I mean, they're waiting for new inventory to come in.
You can't buy a Confederate flag because they're all sold out.
So take heart from these happenings.
Ladies and gentlemen, as your nation rises up around you to demand real change and freedom from the generations of federal oppression, this is only the beginning of something greater.
I really feel that.
It's a sign that a tough and hardy people bound by ties of blood, faith, and custom cannot be held down indefinitely by those who wish death and destruction for all.
And I just mentioned in passing there a moment ago, just a few of the cities, but those were just a few.
Huge Confederate flag rally last week in Stafford County, Virginia, Hendersonville, Tennessee, Jasper, Alabama, Easley, South Carolina, Giles County, Virginia, Franklin, Tennessee, Fort Oglethrope, Georgia, Salisbury, North Carolina.
There are more rallies coming up in Arkansas, Mississippi, right here in Memphis, Tennessee.
We're going to participate in one on July the 12th, right there at Nathan Bedford Forest Park.
But go to the website, take a look at these pictures.
These people have not forgotten who they are.
And I feel as though now, you know, we suffered that horrendous onslaught last week, but they may have reached too far.
The enemy may have reached too far and awakened a sleeping giant.
We'll talk more about this right after the break.

It's time to jump back into the political cesspool.
To be part of the show and have your voice heard around the world.
Call us at 1-866-986-6397.
Ladies and gentlemen, I don't think I could have opened up the show any more uplifting than that, as we have seen all across the South thousands and thousands of Southerners coming out in unfavorable conditions.
I don't think there could have been a more heinous attack on the Confederate flag than what we suffered in the wake of the tragedy in Charleston.
And yet, even in these conditions, our people are rising to the occasion, the likes of which I have not seen in years and years and years.
When's the last time on any given weekend you had thousands of Southerners spontaneously coming out with their battle flags and saying, enough.
We have seen it over the course of the last week, and these things are continuing to manifest themselves.
Now, the question is, is this a momentary recoil and a backlash, or is this going to be something that will prove to be sustainable?
Now, we spent half of last week's show talking about what the Confederate flag is, what it isn't, and why we defend it and honor it so.
If you missed last week's show, you can go back in the archives and listen to it, or actually just stay tuned tonight because I'm leaving halfway through the second hour, and I'm going to play the last half of last week's show while I'm on my way home to shoot fireworks with my family.
So, it's a little bit of a mix and match tonight.
I'm doing the first half of the show live, and then 30 minutes into the second hour, we're going to replay the last half of last week's show when we focused on the South.
So that's forthcoming, but I'm going to keep this short and simple here.
These spontaneous Confederate battle flag rallies are a symptom of the outrage that is brimming right underneath the surface of the South.
For years, a lot of these people had lain dormant.
They have woken up.
We need to harness this outrage into action and focus it at our elected officials in the state capitals.
As I said, more of these rallies are being planned in the days and weeks ahead.
We're going to participate one in Memphis July the 12th, and I'll post information about that on the website.
You can email me for more information if you want to join us.
But it's a simple message.
The Confederate battle flag is a soldier's flag.
25%, one-fourth of all men in the South died for that flag between 1861 and 1865.
Did you hear me?
A fourth of all Southern men died defending their homes in a four-year span.
That is part of our heritage, and we are not going to stand idly by while our Republican politicians conspire to bring shame and dishonor upon our forefathers.
My ancestor died for that flag.
That is part of me.
It's part of the fabric of who I am.
His DNA, his blood, his spirit is part of me to this day.
You cannot disconnect from that.
And even if I didn't believe in the cause, which I do probably every bit as much as he did, I would still defend the honor of my family.
But when you are married to a cause and it's one that's in your blood, well, that's why I'm here.
This flag represents nothing but the Confederate soldiers who died for the South.
We got to stand up for Dixie.
And, you know, we're poised to take lead on this issue here in the political cesspool.
We're going to not take it over, obviously, because there are other groups out there doing good work.
We want to support and nurture this to the greatest extent that we can.
And I'll tell you another thing about the South.
It took a couple of days, but the Southern states and Utah, God bless Utah, are still considering options with regard to the Supreme Court's most recent blatant violations of states' rights.
Now, again, whether or not this is a momentary backlash remains to be seen, but the initial reaction that Southerners have had in response to the desecration of their flag and the latest illegal dictate from the Supreme Court is very encouraging.
So, in Alabama, Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, Roy Moore, says he will resist the Supreme Court's ruling.
In Louisiana, Attorney General Buddy Caldwell made a statement on the decision saying that the Supreme Court ruling overturns the will of the people of Louisiana.
He said his office is not enforcing the ruling because there wasn't a specific mandate in the decision for Louisiana to issue marriage licenses.
In Mississippi, one of the highest ranking public officials in Mississippi said it's an illegitimate ruling because it violates God's law.
God bless Mississippi.
I'll tell you what, Mississippi is probably the greatest state in the Union, and I'm proud to be a Tennessean.
You know, we have a lot of great heroes that come from Tennessee.
Davey Crockett, Andrew Jackson, Nathan Bedford Forrest, Jack Daniels.
Jack Daniels is in there someplace, right, guys?
But I'm proud to be a Tennessean, but if you go back, my parents were born in Tennessee, but all of my ancestors prior to my parents, Hank Williams Jr., all of my ancestors prior to my parents, as far back as I can trace, beginning with my grandparents and all the way back, were from Mississippi.
Mississippi is an incredible state.
You know, what a state with regard to holding up tradition, holding up Christianity, holding up the South.
They've still got the Confederate flag as part of their official state flag.
Here in Tennessee, they are drafting legislation that will protect all pastors from having to perform same-sex marriages, as well as legal protection from being forced to perform same-sex marriages on church property.
In Texas, the Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton said this, quote, no court, no law, no rule, and no words will change the simple truth that marriage is the union of one man and one woman.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is encouraging.
This really does go back to the war between the states.
You have an out-of-control federal tyranny demanding that sovereign states do what the majority of those in that state, the voters, do not want to have done.
In Utah, in Utah, a lawmaker has drafted legislation that would end the state's issuance of marriage licenses, according to a Fox affiliate there in Utah.
So you've got the southern states, you've got Utah.
I'll tell you what, if we could secede again, and as I said in last week's show, I think we have a greater case for secession than even our ancestors did.
But if we could secede again and have the old Confederacy join forces with, say, Oklahoma and Utah, boom.
You reverse the clock.
You turn back all of this satanic, Orwellian, Marxist garbage that we've been force-fed.
And listen, folks, this is a different country.
I was watching television last night.
The ESPEs are coming up.
You know, the ESPEs, it's like the Oscars, but for athletes, you know, the Oscars or the Academy Awards for actors.
You've got the Grammys for musicians.
You've got the ESPEs for athletes, and it's sort of like their Academy Awards.
And I saw that Caitlin Jenner is being honored at the ESPEs.
She's being awarded.
She, look at me.
Bruce, he is being awarded an award for courage at the Espys.
It's time.
Look, it's time to separate.
It's time to go our own way.
You know, enough's enough.
And we welcome these tremors that are coming from the southern states, but until you put a little teeth to it, it's still just rhetoric.
It's encouraging rhetoric.
But most of the state governments are choosing to defer to the Supreme Court, which they absolutely positively should not do.
What we need are men like President Ann Tennessee and Andrew Jackson, who is said to have once challenged the Supreme Court to enforce an improper ruling.
Regardless, if America is going to be restored, we know that that restoration and reclamation will start in Dixie.
And there is a pulse.
And that pulse is beginning to become a lot more vibrant in recent weeks, or rather in recent days, in response to what's taken place over the course of the last couple of weeks with the Supreme Court, with the attack on the flag.
I'm excited about it, ladies and gentlemen.
I have hope.
I would have had hope irregardless, but I am legitimately encouraged by what I've seen.
You know, again, though, the trick is to making this sustainable.
We have to make this sustainable and we have to challenge this into something bigger than just an exercise in venting.
You know, we can't just let our people vent their frustrations and then feel as though they've done their duty by speaking out a couple of times, going to a few rallies and waving the flag.
And, you know, we can't let our politicians off the hook.
Look, I love what the guy, the Attorney General in Texas said.
I love what they're saying in Mississippi about this ruling.
But it's got to be more than just words, ladies and gentlemen.
It's got to be more than just words.
And if the political cesspool radio program has anything to do with it, we're going to push the envelope.
I'll talk to you more about that in just a minute.
Stay tuned.
Institution is our guide.

All right, folks, pay attention.
I know it's the 4th of July.
I'm in here on the 4th of July because I feel morally obligated and compelled to come in here at least for an hour and a half.
To the chagrin, my wife understands, of course, but to her slight chagrin.
I promised I'd be home well in advance of dark so we could get the fireworks.
And I've spent all day with them already, so this is just a momentary departure.
But nevertheless, this is important.
We are beginning to see a heartbeat in the South for the first time in a long time in a very palpable way.
These Confederate flag demonstrations, more on the way.
The Supreme Court once again violating the sovereignty of the individual states by issuing an illegal ruling.
Basically what you had are five members of the Supreme Court completely overruling the will of the people of all of these states that had bans on the book protecting God-ordained marriage.
Five people basically said it doesn't matter what the majority, the vast majority of Tennesseans, of Utahn's, Louisiana, Texans, five people, the majority of those five with severe conflicts of interest said, you know what, you're going to do what we tell you to do.
It's what started the war in 1861.
I don't want to have to go, I don't want our people to have to go to a war.
I just want us to separate.
And we've got the tremors.
And I'll tell you what, it could get hotter.
It could get hotter because it has already begun.
What has already begun, you ask?
Two days after SCOTUS issued this despicable ruling, Time magazine, one of the biggest, most influential publications of record in this country, said it's time to strip Christian churches of their tax-exempt status.
We posted this to our website on July the 2nd.
Check it out.
I'll just read you one sentence.
Rather than try to rescue tax-exempt statuses for organizations that dissent from settled public policy.
See, the Supreme Court issues a ruling last week.
Now it's settled public policy in the eyes of Time magazine.
Of course it is because it went the way they wanted, right?
Let me reread this statement because I digressed.
Rather than to try to rescue tax-exempt status for organizations that dissent from settled public policy on matters of race or sexuality, we need to take a more radical step, Time writes.
It's time to abolish their tax-exempt statuses.
Period.
Time magazine, they're coming for the churches.
And I'm excited about that.
I'm excited about that because it's going to force the churches to stand up and fight.
For the first time in decades, the church is attempting to grow a spine.
I am a proud Christian, unequivocally Bible-believing Christian.
Put my faith in Jesus Christ, and I believe he guides my way.
But I've been embarrassed by how the leadership in my own denomination, the Southern Baptists, have become such craven cowards in recent years.
It seems as though they haven't been able to run fast enough in their useless attempts to prove that they too can be politically correct.
And they try to be as politically correct as they can in order to save themselves from just these sorts of attacks, but it's done them no good, as I could have told them.
But finally, it looks like they've hit the wall and may be forced to fight their way out of it.
Listen to what the Southern Baptist Convention, who I have a lot of problems with.
Let me tell you, I have a lot of problems with the Southern Baptist Convention, but I agree with them on this.
This is their statement in response to the Supreme Court's ruling.
What the Bible says about marriage is clear, definitive, and unchanging.
We affirm biblical, traditional, natural marriage as the uniting of one man and one woman in a covenant commitment for a lifetime.
The scripture's teaching on marriage is non-negotiable.
We stake our lives upon the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Consequently, we will not accept nor adhere to any legal redefinition of marriage issued by any political or judicial body, including the United States Supreme Court.
We will not recognize same-sex marriages, and they put that in quotation, as they should, in our churches, nor will we host same-sex ceremonies, and we will not relent.
Southern Baptist Convention.
I believe them on this one.
I do believe them on this one, at least for this generation.
Now, what will happen with the next generation of watered-down preachers, who's to say?
But right now, I do believe they'll hold the line, at least on this front, and that's a good thing.
It may be baby steps, but it's a good start.
And personally, I would welcome a showdown between our people and the church versus the vandals and visigoths of multiculturalism.
I truly believe that our enemies are, I mean, obviously they're fallible, but they're not infallible when it comes to making mistakes.
They are capable of making mistakes, and I think that they have stupidly overplayed their hand.
They have stupidly overplayed their hand by trying to smear Christians and milquetoast Republicans as Nazis.
It's like they cannot see that it's not in their interest to not further antagonize and radicalize the average Fox News viewer.
All they had to do was run out the clock.
But they keep throwing passes, and now they're risking an interception.
Let me explain to you what I mean by that.
Obviously, the influence of Christianity on this continent is waning.
You have watered-down churches on one hand and the media and the constant drumbeat against Christ on the other.
Christianity's influence had been waning.
European Americans, the predominant people, the driving force behind Christianity and in conservatism and traditionalism on this continent are being washed away demographically because of the onslaught of illegal immigration from south of the border.
All our enemies had to do is just sit on the ball and run out the clock.
If they could have just been patient for a few more decades, the church would have been rendered almost completely obsolete and we would have been a minority in our nation.
But they are too greedy.
They want too much too soon.
Now they're throwing, they continue to throw long balls rather than just running out the clock and now they're risking interceptions.
We have got to take advantage of this tactical mistake on their part.
Hopefully we will.
Meanwhile, our people are continuing to stand up throughout the South.
I got this story, the story I picked up earlier in the week.
It reads, out of Columbia, South Carolina, one man has been arrested after a fight over the Confederate flag in front of the South Carolina State House.
This was in Columbia.
The CBS, this is a joint CBS-AP report.
The brawl started at 7.15 p.m. on Monday when about a dozen vehicles with Confederate flag supporters pulled up in front of the statehouse and stopped in the middle of the street.
Flag supporters were clashed with people who were protesting the flag.
And one of the people with the Confederate flag was attacked and bloodied.
And he was interviewed by the CBS television crew.
Here's what he had to say.
Listen to this.
A young kid, he looked like he was about 16 years old, a very young kid.
The blood on my face, the blood in my teeth, the blood on my hands does not compare to the southern blood that runs through my veins.
A young teenager said this.
I couldn't have put it better myself.
He was hit during the fight.
He says he supports the Confederate flag and that racism has no part in it.
Listen to what he says after this.
What courage from such a young man.
I'm going to tell you one thing.
And he said this, you can see it in the video.
Blood's running down his face, literally.
He says, I'm going to tell you one thing.
I ain't sitting down.
I'm reading a direct quote.
I ain't sitting down.
This is just going to make me walk taller.
I'm going to reread that for emphasis.
This is what he told the CBS news crew.
The blood on my face, the blood on my teeth, the blood on my hands is in no comparison to the blood, the southern blood that runs through my veins.
I'll tell you one thing, I ain't sitting down.
This is just going to make me walk taller.
Amen, brother.
And let's get good people like that.
Let's get the churches back on board.
Let's pull together and channel this energy in a righteous direction.
Let's channel it towards our elected officials in these states like Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Utah, on and on.
And let's have some proactive change for once.
Let's try not to retreat for once.
I'm not talking about our audience.
We never retreat.
No retreat, no surrender, no apology.
I just mean as the majority culture, as the majority population, let's try to flex our muscles for once.
Because if we do, there's nothing that can stop us.
And they know that.
But again, in their intemperance, they thought that we were so cowed that they could just go for it all in one fell swoop, completely eviscerate the Confederate flag, ramrod homosexual marriage down our throats.
It ain't over yet.
It ain't over yet, ladies and gentlemen.
We've still got a chance to turn this thing around.
I think we have a better chance this week than we've had at any point if this energy can be harnessed.
We cannot let it dissipate.
That's why I'm in here tonight on the 4th of July.
We'll be back, and I'll talk to you more about it right after this.
Liberty is not free.
Its costs are innumerable.
Without monetary funding, the valiant efforts of freedom-loving Americans become diminished or outright defeated.
We present a solution, the Give Me Liberty Fund.
The plan is quite simple.
Invite individual Americans to contribute less than a dollar a day.
These monetary funds are used to promote liberty-minded media, organizations, events, candidates, movements, and speakers.
In the spirit of transparency, all expenditures are published.
Patriotic business owners provide discounted products and services to Give Me Liberty Fund members.
Our greatest strength is in numbers.
Go to GiveMeLibertyFund.com and become part of the solution today.

Most Americans are painfully aware that the nation is on the wrong track and in dire straits.
Unfortunately, most political pundits only nibble around the edges when they claim to address the issues.
Even worse, many of the so-called solutions are simply rewarmed servings of what got us into the mess we currently face.
And the politicians think we're so gullible and naive that we'll buy their lies that they have reformed and now understand where they led us astray.
Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is that they simply wish to continue to hold power.
The solution to America's challenges is found in returning to the timeless principles found in the United States Constitution.
My book and lecture series will reawaken in Americans an understanding and love of the principles which made this nation the freest, most prosperous, happiest, and most respected nation on earth.
Visit topreservethenation.com and order my book and lectures to begin the restoration of this great nation.
Welcome back.

You know, it's amazing.
These people out there, people like the senior editor of the Washington Post, and before I leave tonight, keep in mind I'm leaving halfway through the second hour to go spend time with my family.
But we ask you to listen to the entire three hours tonight because we're going to replay what I thought was an hour and a half of the best political cesspool radio we ever produced last week.
And we're going to put that in for the last hour and a half tonight.
But this Washington Post editor, you know, he calls people like me an extremist, as if we're the ones who supports the murder of millions of children.
Right after the Supreme Court issued this ruling on so-called homosexual marriage, they issued another ruling on another case that kept abortion legal in Texas.
Apparently, there had been some sort of a challenge to the statutes in Texas, and the Supreme Court upheld the fact that you had the right to murder your children in Texas.
So just so we're clear with regards to the American flag versus the Confederate flag, it's the U.S. flag, not the Confederate flag, that flies over all of these abortion bills.
It's the U.S. flag that flies over a Supreme Court, which claims to have a higher authority than God.
It's the U.S. flag that terrorizes foreigners and keeps our borders open, not our flag.
And with regards to the cultural Marxist revolution, I was talking to my dad after church last Sunday.
I went by their house, as we often do after church, and they've got a barn and a pond in the backyard, so my daughter loves to play back there.
And I was standing by the pond talking to my dad, and we were just talking about how, you know, all of the changes.
He was born in 1954, all of the changes that he has witnessed just in his lifetime, being born in 1954.
He's 60 years old now.
All of the changes, that is a very short amount of time for these drastic changes.
And Pat Buchanan writes this in his most recent column, which also has been posted to our website.
Folks, if you've been missing our website these last couple of weeks, you've got to catch up on these latest blog entries.
Thepolitical Cesspool.org, of course, is our address, and our stats, our traffic, is higher than ever before.
Higher than ever before.
We have had a spike in the last couple of weeks, so be sure to check out every day.
It's very important at thepolitical Cesspool.org.
But Pat Buchanan writes and asks us to consider the effects of the Marxist revolution in our lifetime.
First, we have seen the total purge of the nation's birth faith, Christianity, from America's public life and educational institutions.
Second, the overthrow of the old moral order has been coupled with the legalization, acceptance, and even celebration of what the old morality taught was socially destructive and morally decadent.
How dramatic have these changes been?
Pat brings out a fact that we talk about every so often here on this program.
Until the 1970s, he writes, the American Psychiatric Association regarded homosexuality as a mental disorder.
Until this century, homosexual actions were regarded as perverted and even criminal.
Now, homosexuality is a new constitutional right.
And New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is marrying homosexuals in front of the Stonewall Inn, the site of a famous 1969 homosexual riot against police.
Similarly, with abortion, it too was seen as shameful, sinful, and criminal until Harry Blackmun and six other justices decided in 1973 that it is a right to an abortion, and that right was hiding right there in the Ninth Amendment.
Did the Constitution change?
No, we did.
If what Justice Kennedy wrote Friday represents moral truth, what can be said in defense of Christianity that has taught for 2,000 years that homosexual acts are socially destructive and morally decadent?
Well, here's something in defense of Christianity.
Three decades ago, Pat Buchanan wrote that he was denounced himself for writing that homosexuality and homosexuals have declared war on human nature and that nature would exact an awful retribution.
That's what Pat Buchanan wrote years and years ago.
When he wrote that line, Buchanan continues, AIDS victims in America numbered in the hundreds.
Worldwide today, they number in the millions.
And there is a pandemic of sexually transmitted diseases among America's young who have joined the sexual revolution preached in the 1960s.
Can true social progress produce results like that?
Consider further, no-fault divorce was an early social reform championed by our elites, followed by a celebration of the sexual revolution, the distribution of condoms to the poor and the young, and abortions subsidized by Planned Parenthood.
How has that worked out for America?
Anyone can see a connection between these milestones of so-called social progress and the 40% illegitimacy rate nationwide, or the 50% illegitimacy rate among Hispanics, or the 72% illegitimacy rate among blacks.
Any connection between those fatherless boys and the soaring drug use and dropout rates and the near quadrupling of those in jail and prisons over the last third of a century?
What do you think?
One notes a headline the other day that among whites in America, deaths now outnumber births.
This has been true for decades in Europe, where all of the native-born populations are shrinking as the third world crosses over from the Middle East.
Do you think there's any connection between the legalization of abortions, 55 million in the United States since 1973, and the shrinkage of our population?
God will have the final word in this matter, certainly in the world to come, yet even in this world, it is hard to recall a civilization that rejected God, repudiated the faith and morality by which it grew great, embraced what was previously regarded as decadent, and survived.
Well, it's hard to argue with that.
I certainly agree with that.
And this is where we are.
This is a culture of death, ladies and gentlemen.
Death and destruction for all.
That is what the head table is advocating for.
They say they are for equality.
They say they are for justice.
These are just flowery terms.
This is a culture of death.
Look at the statistics.
I just read them to you from Buchanan's latest column.
Look at those statistics.
Those are hardcore facts.
That is what the abandonment of God and this march towards what they call progress, those are the results it has delivered.
Death, destruction, illegitimacy, illiteracy.
We are worse by every standard of measurement than previous generations.
My generation, the generation behind mine, we're not superior to our parents, grandparents, and ancestors further back.
We are worse in every way.
But we're fighting to change that.
And I think we can.
I think we can.
We have a window of opportunity.
You know, it's just like Halley's Comet.
Comes around once every many, many years.
We have a window of opportunity that has been presented to us over the course of the last few days.
I don't know how long it will remain open, but we have got to throw ourselves out that window, position us underneath it, and make sure it doesn't close anytime soon.
We have got to somehow take advantage of this.
I was on a radio program in Sweden a couple of days ago, and they asked me if I thought that we would be able to take advantage of the situation.
And I said, if history is any indicator, the answer is no.
We typically do not take advantage of the opportunities given to us.
But at some point, our people will turn and fight.
I hope it's now.
I pray it's now.
Could be later.
But I don't think a people as great as ours that have given so many gifts to humanity, a people whose indomitable spirit motivated them to explore and to conquer, I don't think we're going to exit history completely without some sort of a fight.
And I don't mean this in a violent, bloody way.
I'm just talking about standing up and demanding that our rights not be trampled upon.
Maybe secession is the answer.
It should certainly be an option.
I think it's the only option.
When you have a renegade, out-of-control, tyrannical, godless government, I think it should certainly move to the top of the line with regards to options.
Something will happen sooner or later, but I hope that it's now.
And if it's not now, I'm still not going to lose hope.
But I do think we have a wonderful chance right now to do something positive.
But getting back to this whole thing with the Confederate flag, I think it's a real point of hypocrisy.
Liberals, the media, they bend over backwards to defend Islam when jihadis commit atrocities by claiming that they are only a fringe and one strand of a peaceful religion.
However, in the case of Dylan Roof, who, again, on drugs, I don't know if he had any coherent thinking at all.
It was said that he was going to shoot up a mall and instead ended up at the church.
So I don't think that was anything premeditated.
I mean, who knows what goes on, what thought process, if any, goes on in the mind of somebody like that.
But he was pictured with a Confederate flag, apparently.
And, you know, but the hypocrisy comes into play.
So the liberals bend over backwards to defend Islam, saying they're only a fringe or one strand of a peaceful religion when one of their people commits an act of atrocity.
However, and also with the big farmer drugs, of course, this guy, but for the Confederacy and for Confederate symbols, liberals claim that Robert E. Lee is the same as Adolf Hitler.
There's no gray area whatsoever.
With Islam, there's all sorts of shades of gray, but with the Confederacy, it's pure evil.
And of course, we know this is mainly opportunistic.
Liberals hate anything that can be perceived as being pro-white or pro-Christian, and they want that eliminated.
But it is quite a contrast to keep in mind.
And I saw that Walmart just a few days ago refused to bake a birthday cake that had a Confederate flag as part of the design.
But the very next day, the same person went into the same Walmart, and I guess got a different baker, and they agreed to bake a cake with the Islamic flag on there.
So, you know, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen.
But listen, I say that to say this.
Even with all of this attack on the Confederate flag, they've done everything they can to make the Confederate flag as radioactive and as toxic as they possibly can.
It just goes to show that despite all of this bombardment and for years and years and years, this constant drumbeat about the Confederacy is evil, we know that's all a lie.
We know that.
But all of these people now, over the course of the last few days, are coming out.
They have not been cowed.
We'll talk more about it next.
Stay tuned.
I'm with you for 30 more minutes on the 4th of July.
Another hour of the political session is in the can, but don't go away.
