Time Text
Welcome to the Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populous conservative radio program.
And here to guide you through the murky waters of the Political Cesspool is your host for tonight, James Edwards.
Welcome, everybody, to the Political Cesspool Radio Program, our first show of the new year.
Welcome to 2012.
It's Saturday evening, January 7th, 2012, and the Political Cesspool is here for another great 12 months.
Who knows what the year is going to bring?
You know, last week for our final show of 2011, we did a top 10 list.
We'll be in the top 10 of 2012.
We find out starting tonight.
Welcome again, everyone, to the program.
We're coming to you from AM 1380, WLRM Radio in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, going out to the AMF affiliate stations of the Liberty News Radio Network.
And, of course, I'm casting online to a worldwide audience at thepoliticalcesspool.org, where you can pick up the live stream over your computer or catch the broadcast archive for free after the fact.
ThepoliticalCesspool.org.
You'll remember, I guess it was back in maybe early December, we had a fan of the show from St. Louis come down and come down to Memphis to see us and set in for a live show here at the flagship station.
Over the years, we've had several people, fans of the show, call, get in touch with us via email and ask if when they came through Memphis or perhaps came to Memphis just to see us, if we would take the time to meet with them, break some bread and maybe even drive around town.
Keith Alexander gives one mean tour of the mean streets of Memphis.
And it just so happens that I'm saying all this because a couple of days ago, we had another fine, outstanding representative of the Political Cesspool's audience come down.
This was a man, a young man who was born in the United Kingdom.
He came over here, earned his Ph.D., and now has a very prestigious job in a scientific field.
And he was traveling from New England down to the southwest for work and stopped by in Memphis because he wanted to see us.
And I think Keith can attest to the caliber.
You know, folks, every time we get to meet someone who makes up our listening audience, we are mesmerized, absolutely blown away from the intelligence, the sociability, the likability of these folks.
It's very high caliber.
I mean, by any standard of measurement, high caliber all the way down the line.
And so again, for the gentleman who was here with us, we enjoyed it, Keith.
And Keith, you gave him the tour.
We went out and we had a good lunch.
And then for a couple of hours, we drove around Memphis, gave him the political cesspool tour of the city.
Keith, tell folks, first of all, what you thought of this particular man and what you think of the audience and then why we like to give this tour when we have visiting folks.
Like most of the people that we've given this tour to, we weren't at all disappointed with the caliber and the intelligence and the insight of the listenership of the political cesspool.
It's top notch.
And when we talk about praising our audience, we're not just trying to, you know, butter your buns.
We are absolutely serious about this.
We have, we think, probably the most insightful and the most intelligent audience of any radio program or television program that I could think of.
And this is, of course, directly contrary to the vision of paleoconservatives or right-wingers that the prevailing media and our society generally has concocted that we're a bunch of knuckle-dragging troglodytes.
We haven't encountered one knuckle-dragging troglodyte.
Everybody is just like this guy, a Ph.D. in the hard sciences, has decided to come through here because he admires the Political Cesspool radio show and its message so much.
And what we do typically in these tours is we take them in the non-Chamber of Commerce sanctioned areas of Memphis.
We show them exactly what has happened to Memphis because of the benefits of diversity.
We show them the very, you know, the examples of what's happened because of government programs like the Hope 6 program, housing opportunities for people everywhere.
We take them to ground zero for the minority mortgage meltdown.
We take them to crime-ridden areas.
We take them to areas that we are able to describe as having been prosperous, middle-class, white areas in past decades that now are boarded up hulks.
And they show what the future of America holds for all of us unless people snap out of their trance and realize that the key to having a prosperous and successful America is to have a continued white leadership and a majority white population, James.
It's just quite frankly that simple.
And a lot of people aren't used to being having these insights made to them with quite such force and quite as much candor, but they all wind up admitting, you know, this tour has been a revelation.
Now I see where you're coming from.
We are like the canaries in the coal mine.
We see what is in store for the rest of America as whites become a minority in America.
And as we have said, when that happens, there's going to be a lot of changes.
For example, there's not going to be any foreign aid coming out of America because white people are the source of all that benevolence.
And when white people no longer run things, that benevolence is going to dry up.
Secondly, there's not going to be prosperity in America.
You can't compete with the rest of the world's first string when you put third stringers from America into the game.
And that's what's going on, James.
Back in the 1960s, the city of Memphis was voted as the cleanest and safest city in America.
You could never make that mistake now.
And where we sit tonight here on Bill Street in the entertainment district of the city, downtown, it's very trendy.
You go two blocks in either direction, and you're taking your life in your own hands.
We're going to have a very special article posted to the political cesspool.org in the forthcoming week.
The Travel Channel listed the 10 most dangerous cities in the world.
And they all have something in common.
Guess what?
Guess what it is?
I mean, it's a rhetorical question.
Of course, they didn't draw that conclusion, but you look at the list and it's very easy to see what the problem is.
And, you know, Memphis isn't Mogadishu yet, which was number one on the list.
But because we do have some societal infrastructure here that still keeps the semblance of a civilization here, but it hangs by a thread.
Keith made an outstanding observation during this narrated tour that he gives to visiting fans.
And he said, you know, you look at Detroit, Michigan today.
You look at some of the areas.
And I tell you, this is not necessarily a safe tour that Keith takes us on.
I mean, if, you know, if the car broke down, there might be trouble.
But you look at some areas of Memphis and you compared that to Hiroshima and you would think that the Japanese must have won that war.
Diversity is more disastrous than atomic bombs.
You know, you can take that to the bank and you can take that line from us and take it elsewhere.
Diversity causes more damage than atomic weaponry.
Look at Hiroshima today.
Look at Detroit, Memphis, East St. Louis, and compare it to 1945 in these cities.
Folks, that's what you get.
And we take you on the tour and we take the theory.
We take the theory and we show you what it looks like when it's put into practice.
An outstanding day.
Listen, if you're coming through Memphis or you want to make a trip, we can give you the tour too.
We'd like to see you.
Just give us an email at thepolitical setup.org.
We're going to take a short break.
We're going to pick up where we're leaving off.
Keith has much more in store for you during a very eventful first hour.
We'll be right back.
If you're at all like me, you have a tough time remembering appointments and events.
But ladies and gentlemen, I have the answer.
It's a premier service on the internet called MemoToMe.
It's free.
You ought to try it.
Now, I never miss the honeydew items from my wife or the important business meetings.
They have strict privacy protection.
That means they will release your email address to no one ever.
You will not get spammed because of MemoToMe.
Unmatched dependability.
Ladies and gentlemen, these folks have been around since 1998 and they are absolutely up online all the time to send you your reminders and appointments.
They have rock-solid reliability.
They have five-redundant internet connections, diesel-powered generators backing up the system.
I'm telling you, MemoToMe is the premier reminder service on the internet.
It's free.
You ought to give it a try.
And oh, by the way, if you're not available at your computer to get your email reminders, they can even send a reminder to your cell phone or pager.
I use MemoTomi.com daily and highly recommend it to you.
M-E-M-O-T-O-M-E.com.
Memo to me.
My sister was smoking and I watched her.
She asked me if I wanted some and I said, sure.
And she taught me how to smoke and that was my first experience.
Every day, an estimated 3,000 teens start smoking.
Both my parents smoke.
I mean, seeing them smoke, watching them thinking, well, I do it.
It's not going to hurt me.
Smoking sends mixed messages to your children.
They just recently found out.
I just told my mom, so she was shocked, very shocked.
I think parents have a big influence on whether or not their children smoke.
Because even if the parent says that they don't agree with it, it really doesn't hold a lot of water.
I mean, you can say, I don't agree with you smoking, but when you light up five minutes later, it doesn't hold a lot of water.
Smoking.
If you think you're old enough to start, you're smart enough to stop.
A public service message from this station and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Hi, it's Dennis Daly.
Now that the world is electronically interconnected and there are microphones and cameras everywhere, we seem to be inundated with news.
News from the street where people are commenting about the economy.
Corporations have grasped control of our government and we would like it back.
A lot of the news comes from the halls of Congress.
I guess Republicans think if economic improves, it might help President Obama.
Police stories and stories of tragedy make up a big part of the news.
Other responding officers who arrived saw the suspects, what they thought was a suspect vehicle, leaving the area.
And of course, a steady flow comes from the White House.
We want to get some infrastructure built in this country.
We think that putting construction workers back to work is important.
But you know, a lot of news comes from a lot of other places and a lot of it doesn't get reported.
That's why I'm here Monday through Friday with the news you might not hear anywhere else from Liberty News Radio.
Jump in the Political Cess Pool with James and the Gang.
Call us tonight at 1-866-986-6397.
And here's the host of the Political Cess Pool, James Edwards.
All right, everybody.
All right.
Very big show tonight.
You know, we were so eager to get into the telling of the tale of how we had another great afternoon with another outstanding political successful listener.
I tell you, I've met a lot of fans of the show during the seven to eight year run we've had thus far.
I've never been disappointed.
Never been disappointed.
In fact, each occurrence always exceeds what has become very high expectations.
And Keith's met quite a few of you as well.
You know, we get dismissed and falsely characterized as any number of things.
But I tell you, the people who listen to this show are of the exact same make, model, and stock of the great and determined people who built this country, Carved from a wilderness.
I could not be more proud of the audience.
If everyone could know the fans of this show as I have come to know you, this is truly an all-American program that is listened to by all American men and women.
And I just, I can't put it any more clearly than that.
But anyway, the guy came in, we gave him a great tour, you know, PhD, working in science.
I mean, this is the kind of people that nations need to be successful.
The kind of people that you don't find in the third world.
You can't have a first world nation with a third world population.
It's people like this gentleman that make America great.
And it just so happens we're fortunate enough to have him as a listener.
But anyway, gave him a tour.
Keith wants to offer you a few closing remarks about that.
And then we're going to get into some more stories.
And then a very, very busy show tonight in the second and third hour as well.
More news to cover than we'll have the time to get into.
Keith?
You know, it's a shocking tour for a lot of people, particularly people that aren't from around an area like Memphis.
And I said that we're like a canary in a coal mine here in Memphis.
There are parts of America like Spanish Fork, Utah, Dubuque, Iowa, let's say Litchfield, Minnesota, all over the place, where if people want to see a black person, they have to turn on the television set.
And those people come up with, you know, I think Art Linkletter used to say on his television show back in the 1950s that kids say the darndest thing, well, things, people that don't live around black people say the darndest things about blacks.
But when they come here, you can run, but you can't hide.
You cannot get away from the reality of multicultural, multiracial living.
And you see what it has done.
You see buildings that used to be obviously fine, expensively built structures that have now are in an advanced state of decay and decline.
And it's more than just a coincidence that this happened along with the blackening of the neighborhood, that when the neighborhood transitioned from white to black, the housing stock begins to fall down.
Everything starts to get boarded up.
Crime proliferates.
This is a, you know, it's something that people can't be told enough, James, because as, you know, the guy that came up said, that came up here and went on the tour said it one time, said, why do you guys do this?
I said, because people need to know that after 150 years of freedom and over 43 years of affirmative action, this is what we have.
If anything, things are getting worse rather than better.
Our elites are beguiled by liberalism.
They support it in every way.
In a place like Memphis, all charity and all educational opportunities are earmarked for blacks, and it's the worst time in the history of Memphis to be a poor or working-class white kid because you have no refuge or resource if you are white.
If you haven't got it made or if your parents haven't got it made already, then forget about it.
There's no future for you here.
And if there's no future in a town or a community for whites, there is no future for prosperity there.
That's why places like Memphis become Detroit and places like Dubuque, Iowa, if multiculturalism has its way, if the open borders policy of liberals hastens the darkening of America the way that they intend it to, Dubuque, Iowa will soon be Memphis.
And we need to get the word out like Paul Revere and let everybody know what the left has in store for them.
Basically, we're telling them, go back.
You know, Obama wants to change America.
The political sales pool wants to change America back.
And of course, I guess I can actually sense reporters feverishly writing down notes as what we're saying right now so they can do their weekly hit piece.
I guess now would be the point of the show where we offer out the disclaimer that certainly, I think we all realize not all blacks are a part of this, but a great majority are.
A great majority are.
There's always exceptions to prove the rule.
I think honest black Americans would agree with our assessment of what's wrong with their community and how that which ails their communities is beginning to damage ours as it's being inflicted upon us.
Bill Cosby's been honest about this and other points.
So there are some that go out and work and raise families and do things right, but there's just frankly not enough of them.
And if you look around, you look around at the successful cities, you look around at the cities that are crime-ridden and filthy.
You don't see this common threat.
There's a common denominator.
And, you know, I think that which we espouse here on the program certainly would be what's right for all Americans.
You know, equal rights for all, equal opportunity for all, special privileges for none.
And at the end of the day, that's all we're about.
And objective standards to determine who gets the goodies in life, who gets the promotions, who gets the places in selective colleges and universities, who gets the good jobs.
Let's just do it on an objective basis.
Quite frankly, anyone who has, you know, is not going to be a racial partisan should be able to agree to that.
But unfortunately, the people that take us to task for being racial partisans are the most guilty of racial partisanship, James.
That's what goes on.
And, you know, I'm not going to run from reality.
You know, it says in the Bible that you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.
Well, the truth is, I've never seen a neighborhood in Memphis that got better when it transitioned from white to black population.
And quite frankly, I'm not aware of any community like that or neighborhood like that in all of America or indeed all of the world.
We need to understand that, You know, quite frankly, we need, if we want to have a prosperous America, you cannot transform it into a non-white nation without risking Armageddon, without risking a total disaster.
Because once you lose prosperity and first world status, you're never going to get it back.
That's just, you know, that's the rule that we've drawn from life and from our observations, and we stand by it.
Now, you know, like James said, there are a lot of good black people out there.
There are a lot of black people that are trying to move up and trying to live in a first world society properly.
And that's great.
But you can't open the floodgates the way that the left has done.
And you cannot kick white children to the back of the bus in terms of job opportunities and educational opportunities unless you expect to have the same results that they have in Zimbabwe and South Africa because that's what they've done there.
And those nations have had a transformation, all right, a terrible transformation.
Zimbabwe was Rhodesia, the breadbasket of Africa under white rule.
Under black rule, it's a basket case of Africa.
It certainly seems as though the stated purpose of the civil rights movement, which was to bring everyone to equal footing, was not what they were after.
It seems as though they wanted a role reversal.
They wanted to switch places.
And that, you know, all of these anti-white, dare I say racist policies that discriminate whites against whites.
Well, I mean, the hypocrisy and the double standard, I think, speaks for itself.
Folks, we got to take another break.
Again, very busy show tonight.
During the second hour, we're going to talk about what happened in the Iowa caucuses.
Ron Paul coming in third.
A great hero, Louis Andrews, has passed away.
We're going to give a tribute to him.
Talk about Rick Santorum.
Mayan calendar.
We're going to go to the Yucatan Peninsula, talk about the end of the world.
It's all coming up.
Stay tuned.

We hope that you're having as much fun listening to us as we have each and every Saturday evening here on the Liberty News Radio Network, bringing our Warbling program to you over the national airwaves and the internet.
Not for nothing, but the quick thing, you know, so much of this anti-white sentiment is so manufactured.
As we've often said, and I don't think we're being too hopeful in saying this, is that a vast majority of Americans fundamentally agree with us, whether they admit it or not.
I think in the privacy of their homes, they're much more in the contours of their life.
As Keith said, Joe Sobrin, a great satirist, once said, in their mating and migratory habits, liberals are indistinguishable from members of the Ku Klux Klan.
And while we certainly don't endorse the tenets of that organization, it is interesting that even your most die-in-the-wool liberal, your most die-in-the-wool multiculturalist lives in gated communities if they can afford it and send their kids to private school.
Whereas, as Keith said, the rest of us, in middle-class America, we can only afford to have the number of kids that we could afford to send to private schools.
And see, you know, I was talking with a liberal this week, a guy that told me that he was a Democrat and proud to be a Democrat.
But nonetheless, he sent his children to the most expensive private schools in town.
He limited his number of children to two, specifically for that purpose.
He lives in an exclusively white neighborhood, belongs to exclusively white country clubs, but nonetheless espouses all this Bravo Sierra about outreach to the black community and all the typical liberal Democrat claptrap about race relations.
Now, you know, when are people going to stop lying and tell the truth?
It's a, you know, we're the little kid that tells the emperor that he has no clothes.
And we need to have more little kids that tell the emperor that he has no clothes in America.
Real quick, Keith, before you get into the next subject, I didn't mean to chase that rabbit, but I said all of that to say this about how the media manufactures the fact that so many people are embracing multiculturalism and so-called diversity.
I don't think that could be further from the truth, as we've just, and we've given you a couple of reasons as to why we believe that.
But, you know, the Confederate flag is a symbol that they would certainly love to eradicate.
You know, it's a Christian symbol that represented a great people.
And a great idea.
And a great idea.
And so that's always something that's at the top of the left's hit list.
Well, in Lexington, Virginia, which just so happens to be the home of the final resting place, I should say, of two of the greatest Americans to ever live, Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson, they have a Confederate flag that flies there.
And of course, as is the case with anywhere Confederate flag flies, you got some malcontents that want to do what they can to take it down.
So it's become a big story.
And we're going to put this up on the website next week, or this coming week, I should say.
So check it out.
The local NBC affiliate there, and I can't remember, it's in Lexington, but that's under the auspices of a bigger market.
And Lexington is where Washington Lee College is.
Of course, that's where Robert E. Lee became the president after the Civil War.
And it's also where Virginia Military Institute is.
So it's a very old, traditional southern precinct.
They had a poll at this NBC, this NBC affiliate, very big, very prominent NBC affiliate, had a poll on this story asking, you know, over the so-called controversy.
Now, when you hear the poll results, you're going to ask, what controversy is there other than that which the media manufactures?
But the Confederate flag flies there.
The local affiliate to the poll, what do you think, you know, citizens?
Are you for the Confederate flag or against it?
97% said they had no problem with the flag flying there.
In fact, they wanted it.
97%.
If we ran a poll on the Confederate flag on the Cesspools website, you probably couldn't get 97%.
I'd expect maybe 90%.
97% was the response in favor of the Confederate flag in a poll commissioned by an NBC affiliate.
Now, keep in mind, this wasn't a conservative website doing it.
NBC affiliate.
Folks, that's staggering.
We're going to put that story up on the website in about a week or this week.
And I'll tell you, if you've had trouble getting on the website, as I did a couple of times last week, it's because our traffic is maxing out.
We had over 10,000 unique visitors in one day last week because we've been putting some very interesting stories up.
We're going to continue to do that.
You take 10,000 unique people coming and reading our website in one day.
You extrapolate that times 30 days in a month.
You just begin to get an idea of the number of people this show is reaching on the internet.
And that's not to even count our robust audience on the airways themselves, which is, of course, our anchor.
The website is just a compliment.
You know, wrap your minds around that.
The work that we do here is not going unnoticed.
You know, we make news.
And just on a regular random day, these are the kind of numbers we're able to generate.
It's quite an honor, Keith.
You know, what this cruise is what we've always said about the Brown versus Board of Education decision, that it's where the 3% learned how they could rule the 97%.
And as you can see, the 97% don't want to change our traditions, don't want to change our culture, and they have no problem whatsoever with the Confederacy or the Civil War and the South's position and role in it.
This is the type of thing, you know, Sam Dixon, when he was on the show about a month ago, made this point about Newt Gingrich.
Newt Gingrich is a rootless individual.
He was born in Pennsylvania, moved around with his family everywhere, has no core ideology, no loyalty to any section of the country or locale whatsoever.
He happened to be in Georgia, got elected as a U.S. congressman, and just at that time, Democrat governor of Georgia, Zell Miller, decided it was time for the Confederate flag to be banished from the state flag of Georgia.
Now, as a congressman, there was absolutely no reason whatsoever for a prudent man to jump into that particular controversy because he didn't have a dog in the fight, as they say.
But of course, Newt Gingrich is anything but a prudent man.
He is a publicity hound, and he's lived too long in the shadow of the Beltway.
So he jumps in with both feet saying that, boy, he supports the Democrat Zell Miller, and he hopes they get that blankety blank Confederate flag off of this state flag of Georgia right away.
And then he is shocked to find out that not only did a majority of white people in Georgia prefer to have the Confederate flag on their state flag, a slim, much slimmer majority, but a majority of the black voters in Georgia did the same.
So what did they do?
They just decided to circumvent the voters of Georgia altogether and do this by putting pressure on these politically correct minions, what Sparrow Agnew called the nattering nabobs of negativism that populate elected office, people that are just, you know, are just bludgeoned by political correctness, and they did it.
And Mississippi, to its credit, never took the matter out of the hands of its electorate, the people that vote.
And the people that vote said, keep it.
So hats off to Mississippi.
That little whiff of rebellion, there's a whiff of rebellion everywhere.
Whenever you let the people speak on these issues, they are not for liberal change.
You know, liberal change is what is destroying this nation.
It has been destroying the nation basically for the last 100 years, but particularly accelerated since the Brown versus Board of Education decision.
This is what is bringing America to its knees.
This is why we talk about the twilight of the American Empire, why America is no longer going to be a leader economically or in any other way in the world.
And what people won't tell you is that the reason for this decline is pure and simple and can be expressed in one word, liberalism, James.
Folks, that was a totally impromptu segment.
I mean, we always say we're unrehearsed, uncensored.
And unbosted and unbought, as Keith said.
We can find a few more things we aren't as well.
But nevertheless, that was, we did not even intend, or I didn't even intend when the show began to talk about that.
That was completely extemporaneous.
I guess all of our segments are.
We never run from a script.
And I don't think we'd have to spend too much time.
We ride to the sound of the guns.
I don't think we'd have to spend too much time convincing people who've listened to the show that we aren't scripted.
But yeah, anyway, I didn't even intend to speak about that.
I just wanted to make a quick point at the top of the segment about that poll and what it means.
And then we ended up talking, filling the entire segment with news of that.
So Keith, I didn't mean to truncate what you had prepared for us.
I guess we'll get into that here in the next segment.
And then maybe a couple of final words before the end of the first hour about Ron Paul.
So you can weigh in on that.
When we get back, when we get back at the top of the second hour, we're going to be talking more about Ron Paul.
They're having a big debate tonight.
Where does Ron Paul stand now?
Where does his campaign stand now that he came in a disappointing, at least as far as my expectations were set, a disappointing third place?
Where did Rick Santorum come from?
Very interesting things there.
There's also some other Ron Paul news that we'll be discussing.
I don't know if you saw it on our website.
If you haven't, you can check it out during this commercial break at thepoliticalasspool.org.

Welcome back to Get On the Political Cesspool.
Call us on James's Dime, toll-free, at 1-866-986-6397.
And here's the host of the Political Cesspool, James Edwards.
All right, everybody, welcome back to the show.
We have two hours left of the program this evening, but only one more segment left with Keith Alexander, as this is custom.
Keith comes into work for the first hour, and then he goes down on Bill Street and parties for the other two, and then I join him after the program.
But anyway, Keith, I'm giving you the ball.
You run with it.
Down set up.
What happens is I bail out like D.B. Cooper over the wilderness of the pine tree-covered wilderness, never to be heard of again.
But I'm, let me tell you, we take the ball and run with it here.
I remember when we were kids, we used to play this game called overhead tackle, where somebody would get the football and throw it over their head, and we'd all fight for it, and whoever the lucky person was that caught it, everybody tried to clobber him.
Well, you know, that's kind of what we do here at the Political Cesspool radio show.
One of the things that always attracts me is how fundamentalist Christians nowadays grovel at the feet of the state of Israel and do the bidding of basically Christianity's worst enemies, at least traditionally throughout the history of Christianity.
That's what most Christian fathers, the people in charge of the church, thought.
They thought that the Jews were the first and the foremost opponents of Christianity.
But now we have fundamentalist Christians who say that they're the people that are really connected to what the Bible and about what Christianity is really about, who feel that our worst enemy is actually our best friend.
Well, I was listening to WCVR, which is the local fundamentalist radio station.
It has all the holy roly preachers on it and everything else day in and day out.
Some of them are very good, by the way, and I appreciate what they say.
Of course, they have people like John Hagee on there, who is, I've never seen anybody more in the tank for the state of Israel.
But this week when I was tuned in, I was listening to this commentator really excoriating the fact that the people of Palestine, in other words, the Muslims who were run out of Israel by the Jews from 1948 on, they are allowed to have soccer tournaments, sports extravaganzas, and to name locales after leaders of Hamas and people who they call martyrs.
We would call them terrorists in Palestine.
He said, this, of course, is just a way to brainwash the youth.
Well, you know, he's right on point there.
But guess where they learned that technique?
They learned that technique from us here in the United States, particularly liberals.
And for example, there's an article in the Friday, January the 6th commercial appeal here in Memphis called MLK Avenue, Stretch of London in Downtown Proposed for King Tribute.
And surprisingly enough, according to this article, we don't have a Martin Luther King Street or Avenue in Memphis.
No, we don't.
We have a Martin Luther King Expressway.
Why mess around with small potatoes?
We're going for the big thing, okay?
But we have that.
So now they're going to have a Martin Luther King Street by FedEx Forum.
And of course, across the street from it is none other than Claiborne Temple, which was featured back in August in our two articles on United in Prayer about the guilty white liberal church ladies from one of these uber liberal churches in Memphis going down and falling on their knees to random black passerbys begging forgiveness for the racial sins of their fathers.
Well, we have an MLK basketball game, NBA basketball game, every year on MLK Day here in Memphis.
And of course, it's a big deal.
And they bring in Jesse Jackson or all these other luminaries.
And they give a special award out to a former NBA player who just happens to be black, who was supposed to have been a pioneer back in the dark days of segregation and whatnot, like they had Bill Russell, I think, last year.
They're doing exactly the same thing.
Of course, baseball has even more of this because in baseball, guilty white liberals are just torn up about the fact that black kids don't want to play baseball anymore.
So they have the RBI program sponsored by the local minor league baseball affiliate, the Memphis Redbirds in Memphis.
And every year, in the spring, they have a Martin Luther King game where they have two major league teams come into the Memphis Stadium to play because it's here in Memphis, which is where Martin Luther King was assassinated.
So consequently, we're brainwashing our children, trying to tell them that a reprobate like Martin Luther King was actually basically second only to Jesus Christ in terms of being worthy of emulation and of being admirable.
How in the world can we possibly criticize the Palestinians about doing the same thing when that's exactly what's happening in America?
You know, you have the RBI program, return baseball to the inner city from Major League Baseball.
On the other hand, the NBA is over 80% black.
I think more like 87% black or 85% black.
Where is the RBS program, return basketball to the suburbs?
Of course, it doesn't matter.
You know, we're playing a game racially in America where the rules are heads I win, tails you lose.
It's fine to discriminate against white people and white kids.
It's fine for there to be hardly any white kids playing NBA basketball and nothing need be said about it.
On the other hand, if there is not a predominance of black athletes playing in major league baseball, well, that is proof positive of a pernicious honky plot afoot in the land, James, and we're going to have to do something about it.
Well, Martin Luther King Avenue in Memphis is just another, you know, they never will stop pandering and they never will give up the civil rights movement.
The reason they don't want to give up the civil rights movement is that it's the one unqualified success in the last 70 years in America of liberalism.
You know, when people express skepticism about radical feminism or about Obamacare or about the latest liberal cause du jour, whatever it may be, environmentalism, global warming, you name it,
you always see the left's media machine out of Hollywood and out of New York cranking up stories, these old, you know, evergreen reminiscences about the bad old days of segregation here in the South before the blessed triumph of liberalism when the walls came a tumbling down.
We saw the movie The Help this year, for example, a perfect example of trying to fan the dying embers of the civil rights movement.
And so is this Martin Luther King Avenue thing.
And I guarantee you we're all going to be treated to a heaping helping of all the old stereotypes and bromides here in the next couple of weeks as we approach Martin Luther King Day, James.
The only holiday named for a single individual besides Jesus Christ in America today.
George Washington, he's not entitled to one.
No one else is.
Thomas Jefferson isn't, but blessed old St. Martin is.
And he gets a street in every city.
And I think literally in every city over a certain minimal population has their MLK Tribute Street and some have more than one.
I guess Memphis is going to join that list.
And, you know, Chris Rock pointed out, you know, again, like the child who tells the emperor that he has no clothes, only a black guy could do this.
He said, it's a joke because Martin Luther King Street is always the most dangerous street on the most dangerous part of town.
He said, if you get a friend from a telephone call or a cell phone call from a friend who says, I'm broken down on Martin Luther King Street, what should I do?
Your answer should invariably be run like heck and get the hell out of there.
That is the most dangerous part of town invariably, but we think somehow that we're honoring Martin Luther King by naming these streets after him.
And it, of course, backfires on the left, but the left never acknowledges the fact that it's backfired.
They never acknowledge the fact that it is, you know, there's just nothing they can do to put lipstick on this particular pig.
Well, Keith, that being said, and Keith, of course, goes behind enemy lines here in Memphis.
He brings in the commercial appeal, the local fish rep, at least for one story each week.
Keith, we have less than two minutes remaining in this segment, so I'll give you a minute to tell me your thoughts on what happened in Iowa earlier this week.
And of course, ladies and gentlemen, for the rest of you who will be rejoining us in the second hour, we're going to get into a comprehensive discussion of this.
Well, what happened was Rick Santorum became the fruit of the month.
If people that are as old as I am remember there used to be Harry and David's Fruit of the Month Club, where you would get a particular fruit every month if you belong to this program.
Well, if you'll look at the Republican primaries, first Rick Perry was fruit of the month.
He was the guy that was going to come up and knock Mitt Romney off his pedestal.
Then it was Herman Kane.
Then it was Newt Gingrich.
Now it's Rick Santorum.
He's got his 15 minutes of fame that Andy Warhol predicted every person would have in the future sometime.
And of course he's going to be knocked off his pedestal in a big way up here in New Hampshire.
They're not studying him.
Ron Paul may get his day as fruit of the month club winner up in New Hampshire.
I predict that because I think those people may go for him.
Otherwise, it will be Mitt Romney because he's a son of the good old Bay State Massachusetts, which is right next door to New Hampshire.
Keith's got one more thing.
We just got a second, Keith, the correlation between or the comparison between Romney's devotion to Israel and Santorum's devotion to Israel.
Well, you know, Romney knows that he has to do it in order to be considered presidential timber.
Rick Santorum does it because he likes it.
You know, and this is really pathetic.
You know, I've never seen somebody more in the tank for the state of Israel and for selling out the interests of the American public than Rick Santorum.
He is terrible.
All right, ladies and gentlemen, Keith Alexander on fire as always.
He'll be back with us next week.
I'll be back with you right after these words from our sponsors.
Stay tuned, everybody.
James Edwards, the political set.
coming back right after these messages.
Well, Harv hit the aisles dancing and screaming.
Some thought he had religion, others thought he had a demon.
And Harv thought he had a weed eater loose in his fruit of the balloons.
He fell to his knees to bleed and beg, and the squirrel ran out of his bitch's leg unobserved to the other side of the room.
