Time Text
Welcome to the Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populous conservative radio program.
Here to guide you through the murky waters of the Political Cesspool is your host for tonight, James Edwards.
You know, I don't know what it is, ladies and gentlemen, but I am in a particularly good mood tonight.
I'm always in a good mood.
I'm always gregarious and effusive and all of these, you know, rarely used adjectives that would describe someone being, well, just in a good mood, but particularly so tonight for whatever reason I can't quite pinpoint.
But nevertheless, it is Saturday, March the 20th, 2010.
We are the Political Cesspool.
I am James Edwards.
He is Winston Smith.
You probably were expecting Keith Alexander, right?
Well, Keith has family obligations tonight.
Actually, what it was, being with me for two hours last week wore him out.
We had to take this week off to kind of even the playing field.
But Keith will be back with us next week.
And until then, Winston Smith will be with me during tonight's first hour.
The hour Keith is normally with me.
Winston, how you doing, bud?
Winston.
Yes.
How you doing?
I thought I got cut off again there, but I'm doing just fine.
And since I was listening to you describe Keith Alexander's situation, and you and I were talking earlier, I made the point that we are just like our audience.
And sometimes life has some turns, and we get busy, and we all got to fill in.
We all got to step up to the plate.
And that's how we do it on the political cesspool, because that's how our listeners do it.
We live our lives, and we don't have a big staff to do our research.
Folks, what you hear on the political cesspool from your professional is exactly what you get.
Well, Winston, very well put, and you're exactly right.
And it doesn't take a village to raise a child, but it might take a small cadre of Confederates to run the Political Cesspool.
And that cadre is, of course, myself, Winston, Keith, Eddie DeBometer, Miller, and Bill Rowland, at least in hosting capacities.
And of course, we've got a great support group, both here at AM 1380 WLRM Radio, our broadcast station where we sit this evening, and all the way over in Utah, the Liberty News Radio Network, the affiliates that they carry, the AMN FM affiliates at LibertyNewsRadio.com, thepolitical cesspool.org.
We are about to kick this thing into high gear tonight.
And Winston, you and I were talking here just a moment ago before we came on air this evening.
And yes, we have a lot of issues we're going to bring to the audience's attention this evening, as always.
We actually have a couple of great guests as well.
We're going to be hosting the always fascinating Dr. Virginia Abernethy this evening.
She is a professor emeritus of anthropology at Vanderbilt University, right up the road in Nashville, Tennessee.
A little later on tonight, you'll also hear from Gordon Baum, the Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Conservative Citizens.
And he has a date that you're going to want to save.
The 2010 CFCC annual conference will be taking place this summer.
We're going to hear more about that a little later on in the program.
Next week, too, Winston, a couple of great guests forthcoming next week, Dr. Paul Godfrey, Professor of Humanities at Elizabethtown College.
And on top of that, next week, we've got the man who's put more liberal panties in a bunch the last couple of weeks than anyone else, Richard Spencer, editor of the controversial and excellent new website, Alternative Right.
And you're not going to want to miss that show.
You're not going to want to miss tonight's show.
And they both are coming to you live, as always, 6 p.m. on Saturday.
So Winston, we've certainly got our plate full there.
But what I was getting at was tonight, or at least during the first hour, we're going to kind of kick back.
We've had a frantic and frenzied pace here at TPC over the last really couple of months, a lot of issues, a lot of guests, and tonight, well, we're just going to do a little reflection and commiserating with one another and share a couple of emails that have come in from our listeners.
And one thing that I want to tell the audience tonight that isn't commonplace for me usually is that I am on the internet right now.
Normally when I host the show, I shut off the computer and I focus on the issues at hand.
But tonight, if you want to send us in an email during the show, why don't you just go ahead and do that?
Free yourself and become a star.
We might even read it on the air.
JamesEdwards at thepoliticalspool.org.
Again, that email address, jamesedwards at thepoliticalasspool.org.
If you want to send us in a nice email, we might share it with the world.
And we're going to do just that with a couple of emails we've received in recent days, Winston, and both really, I think, are typical of the emails that we are accustomed to receiving.
Very well written, very astute, very observant, and we appreciate that.
We're going to share those with the audience right now.
And let me read this one and then I'll toss it over to you, Winston, for some analysis.
And this comes in from a gentleman by the name of Daniel, and Daniel writes, I realize how busy you are, so let me cut to the chase.
Let me introduce myself at first.
I'm 19.
I'm a founding Scottish stock, yet although I don't look at being blonde-haired and blue-eyed, I'm also half-Jewish.
Yes, apparently there are Scottish Jews.
I mentioned that later in detail because I want to let you know that not all Jews are supporting the vermin at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
We are trained from a young age nowadays to react violently when we hear people use touchy words like the Jewish problem and the like, which I don't believe I've heard on your show, but I understand and can tell from the clear, good-hearted nature of the people involved at TPC that you are not talking about all Jews and are just talking about the unfortunate number of liberal and neocon Jews who are sadly all too often the people slandering patriots like you and me as racists.
I'm also ashamed and embarrassed by what the ADL does.
Now, he goes on to write this.
It's refreshing to finally find a radio show hosted by patriots who don't always have on their politically correct mufflers.
I'm a Copperhead, born and raised in the visually beautiful and politically demented liberal college town just atop Chicago by the name of Evanston, Illinois, the very heart of Obama land.
Nearly everyone I know and love is what I call a default liberal, someone who assumes themselves Democrats based upon their cultural affinities, but have not come to be Democrats from thinking about any issue.
My family is liberal, and although I've weakened their support for Obama radically and think that I'm close to convincing having them to leave the left, back in 2003 when most people had the pleasure of not knowing who Barack Obama was, I was being told by my mother about this amazing, brilliant, handsome black politician named Obama who people think can become president one day.
Well anyway, I realized, the reader writes, or the listener writes, rapidly that the Obama movement was basically composed of a legion of young airheads and potheads, my friends, my generation, and suave of 30 to 60 year old yuppies and baby boomers who want to show how progressive they are.
Now let me cut to the chase if I haven't bored you to tears yet.
Here's how I came to the political cesspool.
Two years ago, when I was on my way out of the left, but still among the neocons, after finding the path to truth in an audiobook, State of Emergency, that was written by Pat Buchanan, I had the fortune to find my way to one of the greatest websites going, beatair.com, and then found my way to Steve Taylor, who I believe is among the greatest living writers of our age, then to Richard Spencer, Paul Gottfried, and Jared Taylor, then to the Occidental Quarterly.
I mean, it sounds as though he's reading a list of our best friends there, Winston.
Basically, I found out that America was being destroyed behind our backs via immigration and that fighting against the treasonists who want to import themselves, the new population, will vote themselves other money, was a fight for my future, my nation's future, and my children's future.
There was and is no turning back in this fight.
And some final points, he writes, Winston, I very much like the guests you get, particularly Paul Godfrey, who you should have on more, Steve Saylor, Peter Brimelow, Jared Taylor, and your attorney friend Keith Alexander is great.
I appreciate the sense of fraternity and brotherhood that radiates your show and the positivity.
Yes, positivity and pugnacious let's do something about this attitude of the show, which you mainly provide.
And finally, I liked how you were, as you were not, as many radio hosts sometimes are, an egomaniac.
I liked how you were kind and not condescending to your very articulate callers and guests.
And I also took note of the way in which you let others speak, even when they interrupted you, etc.
And then he goes on to write a little more.
But, you know, Winston, I read all of that, and it was a little bit long-winded for, but I didn't want to edit anything that he wrote.
And I guess I read that just to say how much, and Keith and I did this last week to an extent, how much we really do appreciate and feel that special relationship and bond with our listening audience.
And to read emails like that from people who obviously have listened to this show for a very long time, long enough to know a great number of our guests and a great number of our personal character quirks, is really rewarding in a way that it's hard to articulate.
Well, James, that was an excellent email.
And, you know, that is fairly representative of the emails we get.
The listenership of the political cesspool is an educated bunch.
They are smart.
Did this listener say that he was attending college?
No, he's of college age.
I don't think he's an email that you're doing.
Well, we get numerous emails from attorneys and from PhDs and from scientists.
And that was an exceptionally well-written email.
And I think you touched on many salient points.
And here's the thing I'd like to say, too.
I know there's a lot of so-called conservative hosts who feel as though they have to have a Jewish person or a black person endorsing them in order for them to be legitimate or in order for their arguments to be legitimate.
And we've certainly never felt that way.
But at the same time, I appreciate everyone who listens to this program.
And I am certainly not going to refrain from reading an email from these people who are equally supportive.
And it was a great email.
And I'm excited about it.
And you're really going to be excited about this next email that I'll read.
And then Winston's going to get on to a suggested reading list for some of the audience out there.
And then we're going to get into some issues.
Sit tight, everybody.
We haven't even begun to fight this evening.
Don't go away.
There's more political cesspool coming your way right after these messages.
Welcome back.
To get on the political cesspool, call us on James's Dime, toll-free, at 1-866-986-6397.
And here's the host of the Political Cesspool, James Edwards.
All right, everybody.
As we mentioned a moment ago, we are beginning tonight's program by sharing with you a couple of emails that we got this week.
Two of many emails we've received over the course of the last seven days since our last broadcast.
I just got an email in.
I shared with you earlier that I am online right now.
So if you want to email into the program, we can monitor that in real time here as we broadcast to you.
James Edwards at thepoliticalcesspool.org.
JamesEdwards at thepoliticalcesspool.org.
Winston, we got an email in from the Lord of the Board, Art Frith, one of our producers, and he said the best part of the show is, of course, what?
Me.
Well, no.
He said the commercials and the bumper music that he provided.
Oh, yes.
I mean, with that golden, sonorous voice of Chief Art Frith, how can you go wrong?
I mean, women want to be with him.
Men want to be him.
What can you say?
Well, he does get to work with us, so there is some envy to be had, I guess.
Nonetheless, we are reading these emails with you for a reason, and we're going to get to that reason in just a moment, and hopefully you will find some meaning in our reasoning there.
But before that, I want to read an email here, Winston, that came in that was quite moving on a politically related front.
I mean, the last email was moving as well, but this one is a little more issue-oriented.
And I am sure there are European Americans all over the country who are facing what this listener to the program is facing, but they don't know where to go.
They don't know how to fight back.
They don't know even if they should fight back.
Perhaps it will cost them repercussions, their job, financial security, what have you.
And they don't know what to do.
And so they're reaching out to us, and that is very humbling.
And we're excited about that.
And we're going to do everything we can to provide leadership for people like this.
And this is what this listener writes, Winston.
It says, I'm a bus driver and sure wish you could see the race trouble that is going on in my school bus.
Before I say anything, I want to say that some of the best kids in my school bus are black and some are Mexican and some of the worst kids on my bus are white.
But there are definitely racial issues in play here.
A black girl recently punched a white girl on the arm.
When I asked her why she did it, she told me that the white girl was about to call her something.
Now I happen to know that this black girl was removed from another school bus for punching another white girl.
The bus driver told me that the white girl did not do anything to deserve being punched.
This white girl didn't either.
Now she has turned the other blacks on the school bus against me for me writing her up.
Because I sent this girl to the principal's office.
I am a racist, according to her.
And the other girl, too, is now under attack verbally by the blacks on the bus for being a racist.
Well, here's what happened.
Both the white girl and the black girl were called into the principal's office.
I did not write the white girl up because I did not see or hear her do anything wrong.
The principal told them that if anyone calls anyone names again, they will be removed from the bus.
And if anyone hits anyone again, they will be removed from the bus.
I know this white girl.
I have never heard her say a cuss word, much less a racial flur.
When I talked to her about the incident, she didn't even know what racism was.
The black girl basically got away with something that had it taken place on the street would have gotten her arrested.
In another case, with a different group of students that I drive, it's a similar situation, only it is between Mexicans and another white girl.
The Mexicans are accusing me of being racist and only getting the Mexicans in trouble.
In this case, I did write up the white girl also because she didn't sit down when I told her to.
The funny thing about this case was the Mexican girl actually told me, I don't think you're a racist.
I just have to stick up for my people.
And one of the other Mexican girls that is accusing me of being racist came to my seat and asked me why I told her to sit down when she wasn't standing up, insinuating that I was being overly harsh because she was Mexican.
After I explained to her that I wasn't talking to her, she turned around and while walking back to her seat, hit a white girl on the head.
It must be nice.
Non-whites are allowed to stick up for their people without the slightest accusation of wrongdoing.
But whites have to prove that they are not just sticking up for the people because if they are, it's evil.
There are race problems in America and whites are not always the perpetrators.
Winson, how many people across this country share the sentiments of this listener and are lost as to recourse?
I would think that there are untold millions of white people in this country who understand that poor bus driver's predicament and have experienced it.
James, you've experienced it.
I've experienced it.
We've been accused falsely of being racist.
And that is the accusation du jour.
It's the niche accusation whenever white people have any dealings whatsoever with non-whites.
Now, as to what this man can do, it's going to be tough, but he should do whatever I do whenever someone accuses me of being a racist.
I simply demand the proof.
And that does a couple of things.
But foremost, it causes the accuser to arrive at a definition of racism.
And that's something that these people do not want to do.
They don't want to define the word because they know it'll tie them down to one meaning, and they'll probably have to stop using it when they realize that any definition that they can come up with will apply to them as well.
But this man needs to demand what the proof is of his racism, and then he needs to find an attorney who will take up a slander case because, folks, that's the only way this is going to stop.
If we find attorneys who will take these cases as slander and libel, if it's in print, we need to start fighting back.
And we talked about this a few weeks ago, James, with the lady who's going to school in Indiana.
And it's something during the election cycles we need to do.
We need to ask the candidates what they intend to do on behalf of white people because every other race asks that question.
And the first thing we need to be demanding of elected officials is that false accusations of racism be considered hate crimes.
So this man needs to go on the offensive.
He needs to defend himself manfully.
He needs to find an attorney who will take his case as a case of slander.
But, you know, for instance, in a perfect world, we would ask that hate crimes be thrown out altogether because there are already laws on the books punishing people for whatever crimes they would have committed.
Hate crimes is just another charge they can add on top of a crime that's already been committed that is solely implemented to add further punishment and harsher sentencing for white people.
But if we can't do that, what is good for the goose must be good for the ganders, and you're right.
We must demand, must demand that these double standards and hypocrisies stop.
We want to know what you're going to do for white people.
We want these false accusations of racism to be treated as hate crimes.
We have got to get in the face of these politicians and demand that become socially acceptable because it is acceptable.
By any reasonable standard of measurement, that should be acceptable.
Every other race in the world is allowed to do it, is allowed to have these rights.
And I'm not saying we should take these rights from them, but I'm saying they should also be afforded to us as well.
So, yeah, I think you're definitely on to something.
And, you know, I think that's why we get these emails from these, obviously, I think the people that write us are the very epitome of what an American is all about.
They love their country.
They go to work for a living.
They pay their taxes.
They are true red-blooded Americans.
They are red-state Americans, as Keith would call them.
And the problem for a lot of our listeners is they don't have organization.
I'm not saying that they are incapable of becoming organized.
I'm just saying that there are no entities out there representing them.
There are a few, but I'm talking about on a national level, to the extent that they need, they're just not there.
This radio program is one, obviously, and we're proud of that.
The Council of Conservative Citizens, you're going to be hearing from Gordon Baum.
That's obviously an organization that all concerned whites ought to join.
And we're going to give you more reasons for that when Gordon appears with us in the third hour.
But, you know, our people who share our viewpoints and believe in them ardently enough to take the time to listen to our program and support our work and write in emails sharing with us their story, they are going to have to become active.
They're going to have to become mobilized.
Otherwise, we're going to continue to be railroaded, and these double standards will continue to exist.
And if they do, well, it's not going to be pretty if you let it progress a couple of more years.
We'll be back right next week.
The political cesspool, guys.
We'll be back right after these messages.
On the show and express your opinion in the Political Says pool,
call us toll-free at 1-866-986-6397.
All right, everybody.
I'm sitting here just pouring through some emails that have been coming in since we kicked off this broadcast about a half hour ago.
You know how our responsive audience is, Winston.
You issue the call and they answer, and we're getting some great emails in.
We'll pick a couple of them to read.
We probably won't have time to read them all, but continue to write in.
Continue to write in.
James Edwards at thepolitical cesspool.org.
If you, as Bill O'Reilly said, and I hate to quote anything he says, but if you wish to opine, that's the email address.
We are sharing a couple of emails with you that we thought would, first of all, give you an example of the kind of caliber of audience that we hold here and that you're a part of.
I think the listeners that we share reflects well upon all of us.
And of course, we're using a couple of these emails to provide some political points too.
And Winston, last week I made mention that we had received in just a couple of days' time emails from Rome, Finland, and I believe it was Germany.
You got an email recently from another great European country, and they asked you for something that you were all too happy to answer.
What was that?
I think it was an email from a listener from Ireland, James.
It always does my heart good to get letters from overseas listeners because they are attuned to racial differences in a different way than we are.
Over there, they are dealing with issues that we are trying to fight now.
They are dealing with issues that are already in place.
And we need to be paying attention to what they're going through because chances are we're going to be going through them pretty soon as well with Obama-style socialism about to set its taproot down in the form of this wretched health care bill.
But this listener from Ireland asked me for a reading list.
He wanted to know of essential reading for white people and people who think like us.
And by the way, folks, I want to tell you that I haven't had email for a few days now.
We've moved and we need to get our email, get our internet established again.
Should be soon, but I will get back to your emails, so please be patient with me.
But this gentleman asked for a reading list.
And I thought, what an excellent question.
And then I started trying to answer it.
And I thought, this is a huge question because one thing that we white nationalists in particular, and we chemists in particular, we are readers.
We read a lot.
And there are so many books that I could recommend, so many movies that I could recommend.
I couldn't narrow it down by myself.
So I consulted with two dear brothers of mine, Wheeler McPherson and Harry Seabrook.
And I asked them for advice, and they sent me their lists of movies and books.
And I sent them mine, and we compared.
And I was amazed at how similar our lists were, because we're pretty different people when you get right down to it.
But I put together a preliminary list, and to this reader, this listener in Ireland, I'm going to send you the list, but I'm just going to go through a couple of the items on this list.
And I think, James, in the future, we can make an hour-long segment about essential reading for white people.
I want to go ahead and start off with just a cursory glance at this list that I put together with the help of Wheeler McPherson and Harry Seabrook.
In the nonfiction category, this is essential reading for white people.
There's the Gulag Archipelago by Alexander Solzonitsin.
Definitely most reading.
There's A Defense of Virginia and Through Her, the South by Robert Lewis Dabney.
You should definitely read Albion's Seed by D.H. Fisher.
My friend Wheeler McPherson suggests Fox's Book of Martyrs.
And that is certainly one that you should read.
But there's also another book along the lines of Fox's Book of Martyrs, and it's called Fair Sunshine.
It's published by Banner of Truth Trust, and it's about the persecutions that the Scottish Covenanters went through during some very terrible times.
So check out those two books, Fox and Fair Sunshine.
There's also Vigilantes of Christendom by R.K. Hoskins, The Conservative Mind by Russell Kirk, The Southern Tradition at Bay by Richard Weaver, The Southern Essays of Richard Weaver.
This is going to cause some controversy among our listeners, but it's one that myself and my two brothers think should be on every white person's shelf, should be studied.
It's The Institutes of Biblical Law by Rusus John Rushduni, or J. Rushduni.
It was the basis for the theonomy movement not too long ago, and some things in that movement have moderated, but this is something that deals with, in detail, with the commandments, the decalogue, and their place in society, in the civil law.
Something you should check out, The Institutes of Biblical Law by Rushdooni.
You should also read The Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis.
Really, just not anything by C.S. Lewis you should read.
And here's something that I want to recommend, mainly because by profession, I'm a writer.
That's how I make my living.
And we chemists, we are writers.
We are all writers.
We write about anything and everything, and we write extensively.
But you should have a copy of The Elements of Style by Strunken White.
It's just a small book on how to write properly.
It's not like the Chicago Manual of Style, which I have three different versions of the Chicago Manual style, but they're large books.
But The Elements of Style is a small book.
Going to just give you some general rules, without a lot of technical grammatical mumbo jumbo.
That dweebs like uh, dweebs like me, like uh, but it's called The Elements Of Style by Struck AND White and uh, I wanted to put together a, a list of uh poetry books, of poetry that uh, every white person should have.
And uh, my favorite one is called The Golden Treasury by uh, Francis Turner Palgrave, p-a-l-g-r-a-v-e.
It's just a uh, a good book of uh of classic poetry that you should uh, you should have.
It's got a good number of Shakespearean sonnets in it, as well as uh poems on just about every, every topic you can imagine.
But it's called the Golden Treasury by Palgrave.
And I also want to give sort of a shout out to uh Political Setpool listener, Craig Langley.
He's been on the show a couple times as a guest and as a caller and this young man is uh on the cusp of a revival of the epic poem.
Uh, he's working on a very long epic poem now.
Uh, it's probably novella length and uh, I want you to be on the lookout for anything by Craig Langley.
We're going to be uh publishing some of his stuff when the Political Setpool gets our printing wing going.
And uh, you should be on the lookout for for the, the epic poetry of Craig Langley.
You won't find it out there right now but uh, it will be soon and you will thank the Political Sethpool.
People are going to have fun with that little slip, but you should be on the lookout for anything by Political Sethpool listener, Craig Langley.
Well, what you're going to have to do is, when you get your email back up, of course, email to me that list and we'll get it put up on our blog at Thepolitical Sethpool.org.
I'm sure undoubtedly, that some of those names and titles uh weren't familiar with people, so to have it in front of them where they can write down the name and the proper spelling of the author, would come in handy.
So you get that compiled, send it to first the listener from Ireland who requested it, and then to me.
We'll get it up on the blog so everyone can uh can share in the review of those uh excellent titles that you've suggested, and i'm excited about that.
See, there is some information you just won't find.
Uh on any old radio program, in fact i'm sure our competition, Hannity Limbaugh, etc.
They've uh, what are the odds that they've read any one of those titles Winston.
Uh, probably very small, but I will.
I will say this, whenever uh there's an organization that that publishes a list of what uh political leaders are reading, at the time the poll is taken, everybody take a poll of what uh politicians are reading and invariably the list.
Uh everybody on the list is reading something to do with politics.
They're reading biographies of politicians.
A few years back uh the the, I think, a three-volume set of a biography of LBJ came out and every politician read it, because these are people who are obsessed with politics.
It's everything to them.
It's their food, it's their drink, it's their sex, it's everything to them.
But they all read political books.
But I like to think that most white people are a little more broad in their thinking and their reading and they don't have to have politics all the time.
Besides, these books that I'm suggesting, they will form the foundation of your political thought, whether they're actually political or not.
These books will form the basis for your political thought, and it will give you the subject matter with which you can run yourself and develop your own political opinions.
Well, and you know, we have reviewed and recommended quite a few books on this program.
We have offered books as incentives for people to donate to this program and some of our quarter fundraising drives, some of the concepts.
Now we've got to take a break.
We're going to bring this whole thing to summation in the next segment.
You want to stay tuned for that.
Be back right after this.
Don't go away.
The political cesspool, guys.
We'll be back right after these messages.
Call us tonight at 1-866-986-6397.
And here's the host of the Political Cesspool, James Edwards.
Don't forget that Dr. Virginia Abernathy and Gordon Baum will both be appearing this evening during our second and third hours, respectively.
And Winston, we're really going to have to make haste here in this final segment of the first hour.
We're going to cover everything that I'd like.
But I was saying just before the break that the Political Cesspool has recommended many books throughout our six-year run here as readings.
The title is not quite as classic as those mentioned by Winston, but we have promoted Tom Sunik's book, Homo Amalconis, Child of the Postmodern Age.
We have, of course, had Pat Buchanan on for a couple of interviews to promote his book, State of Emergency, and his most recent epic Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War.
The ADL really appreciated that interview Pat did with us.
And we got a book right now that we're promoting, as you know, The Enemy is Still Here.
It is written by Hutton Gibson.
It deals with leftist infiltration of the church, the way the left has been able to influence and integrate their perverse ideology into yet another one of our institutions.
It's a good book.
It's an interesting read.
The Enemy is Still Here.
I'm holding a copy of it in my hand right now.
Hutton Gibson was, of course, kind enough to send us a box of autographed copies.
Quite a few of our listeners have taken advantage of this special promotion over the course of the last month.
And we still have a few copies on hand.
So if you would like to own a copy of The Enemy is Still Here, signed by Hutton Gibson, and he inscribed them all differently.
I thought that was pretty interesting.
You can obtain that copy by supporting this radio program.
Make a donation between now and the end of March, and the book is yours.
We'll send it to you.
Signed, still delivered.

Another email just came in, Winston.
Listener Tom has recommended a book that I haven't heard yet of yet, I'm ashamed to say.
Why Europe Leaves Home by Kenneth Roberts.
I've heard of that.
That's for getting good reviews.
Writing in with that.
And I get an email here, Winston, that I've got to read.
You're going to think I wrote it myself, but it comes in from Courtney in Alabama.
And she writes this.
I'll take the first question, I'll give you the second one.
And then I want to end up this segment by talking about the importance of camaraderie, fellowship, and brotherly love, which is really what this whole first hour has been about in a roundabout way.
But this is what Courtney from Alabama writes.
She writes, Hi from a proud southern bell.
I thought I would write you, since you mentioned it, I just wanted to tell you that I thought you have a beautiful wife.
Could you spend a few minutes at some point telling us how you met her?
I'm sure you want to protect her, and that's why you don't talk about her background as much as you talk about your interesting background, and I understand that.
But I would be interested in hearing more about your story with her and how you met.
By the way, I enjoyed your show about Ole Miss.
I sat right here with you with my fists clenched when people attack the South.
Do you think the South has a future?
We aren't only in danger of non-white immigration down here, but we are also in danger of the liberal Yankee invasion.
Every day I feel we are losing our beloved region.
But anyways, I love your show and keep up the good work.
Winston, first things first, I'll let you answer the question, does the South have a future?
I was just reading that Maryland, the state of Maryland, if you can believe it, is asking the United States Congress to reassign its geographical classification.
They are listed as a southern state, and they want to be officially listed as an eastern state because they hate the old South.
So does the South have a future?
Can the South have a future?
First question from our listener.
Who was it?
It was one of our, we used to have him on as a guest.
He wrote a book called Can the South Survive?
He was our favorite pessimistic.
Michael Andrew Gritson.
Yeah, great book.
You should read that one.
My opinion is, well, of course, the South does have the South does have a future, whether it's a good one or a bad one, that remains to be seen.
But, you know, Courtney, your life in the South, your life anywhere, is going to be largely dependent upon what you make of it.
You know, I deal with this question in my own reflective times every week.
I live in the South.
I love the South.
You know, there are songs written about the South.
You don't hear people writing songs about how great the North is or anything like that.
I think there's a book by that title, by the way.
But I dearly love the South and everything about her.
It's spiritual.
Winston, it is spiritual.
For us to have been born so many decades removed from the war and for us to still feel such a spiritual, and I use that word not loosely.
It is just that.
A spiritual connection to the history, to the culture, to the sacrifices of our ancestor.
That's something that really transcends politics.
And as I said, I feel as though I've won the genetic lottery to have been born here in the South.
And because of that, and because of our rich history, something so noble, you just can't defame the South, not, you know, and expect to get away with a clean life.
I will always stand to defend the South.
Earlier, I mentioned the book, Defense of Virginia in the South by Robert Louis Dabney.
And he wrote that book not long after General Lee was forced to sheathe his stainless sword at Appomattox.
But in that book, in the introduction, Dabney refers to Virginia as his murdered mother.
He says, my murdered mother, Virginia.
And, you know, that kind of sums it up for the Southern heart.
We look at our states and more particularly at our counties as an extension of ourselves as a member of our family.
And you don't get that anywhere else.
But the southern mind, the southern heart is so tied to geography and to soil.
There is something about this region of this continent that inspires a lavish ardor in those who have a heart made of anything other than stone.
So, Courtney, I wish I could say, yes, the South has a good future, but just because General Lee acquiesced at Appomattox doesn't mean that the war is over.
That war was about geography.
Now the war for genetics has been going on ever since then.
The war for hearts and minds.
As I said, it's a war for genetics.
They want us, those of us who feel the way that I've just described, they want us out of the way because we are the last bastion of true liberty and true freedom in this country.
It's only in the South that you find people who are so dogmatic and so animated by thoughts of liberty and freedom.
And that is what is under assault through us.
They want the Obama administration and the Marxists and the progressives, they want to get rid of any vestige of freedom and liberty.
And right now, the way to do that is to get rid of the Southern spirit as James and I have just described.
Courtney, I urge you, cling to your heritage.
with a vice-like grip.
All of you Southerners out there, cling to your heritage.
Don't let them take it from you without a bloody fight.
They want you out of the way because they want your land.
They want your children.
They want to rewrite your history.
They want every generation that comes after us to think that we and the great men like Lee and Jackson and Longstreet and Washington and Patrick Henry and Jefferson and all those people, they want future generations to believe that we were just the worst of the worst.
And when you look at the tactics and the motives that those people are employing, you realize that they are the worst of the worst.
And they also want genocide.
You don't get any lower than Sherman.
And, you know, I guess the short answer to the question would be, the South's future is what we make it, that we can either reclaim the South's former glory or we can allow the South to be swept into the dustbin of history.
And that future is going to be determined by the actions each of us take or don't take.
And to answer her other part of the question, I know we're getting very short on time.
I will write back, obviously, and share a little bit more with her.
But this might sound a little cliche, but I happen to have met my wife in church.
And it's a great story, and we've been married for four years now.
And there's a lot more to it than that, of course.
But those are just some of the background details.
And we don't have enough time to get into this, but I wanted you to share a little bit about the need for fellowship, camaraderie, and the brotherly love for one another here in this community that we have.
It's important to be engaged in political activism to put yourself forward in this battle to reclaim America's destiny, but it is of equal importance, if not more important, to really form special relationships, working relationships, friendships with the others that are bearing it across.
And certainly that's something that we've done here as a staff here in the political festival, not because we've had to, but because it came naturally.
And that's something we want everyone to experience and share.
And in doing that, you can fight that much more effectively, that much more efficiently, that much harder.
And I know we only have about 30 seconds at the end of the hour, but is there anything more you can add to that, Winston?
James, this continues on with my answer to Courtney.
The future of the South will be determined politically, to be sure, but it's going to be determined in equally large measure by what happens on front porches and in back porches and around dinner tables and over glasses of beer and over pizzas and over hamburgers and ribs.
And, folks, get out there and fellowship with each other deeply.
Don't think that.
And two to go.
Stay tuned.
We've got to hang on there.
We'll be back.
Right after these messages.
That's so God in the eyes.
They were jumping, museum shouts.
Well Harv hit the aisles dancing and screaming.
Some thought he had religion, others thought he had a demon, and Harv thought he had a weed eater loose in his proven balloons.
He fell to his knees to plead and beg, and the squirrel ran out of his britch's leg unobserved to the other side of the room.
