Rachel Maddow Announces NATIONWIDE Russiagate Conspiracy Protest

Rachel Maddow Announces MASSIVE RussiaGate Conspiracy Protest. Reporting first, Maddow highlights a coalition of Russiagate conspiracy theorists demanding the unredacted release of the Mueller report because they refuse to believe there is no collusion or no obstruction.Maddow falsely reported that Robert Mueller was not assisting Bill Barr with redactions and was corrected in real time. But this clear failure to understand what is happening may be why Rachel Maddow keeps spreading misinformation. However, a more likely reason for the constant conspiracy nonsense is the lucrative nature of this narrative. MSNBC announced that Maddow was #1 in the ratings for the first quarter three days short of the end of March. In reality Maddow's ratings fell nearly 20% when the conspiracy narrative ended, thus she actually dropped. But the Trump bump is huge for Maddow, shes built herself up from this story and is not letting go. And now we see the results, massive nationwide protests. Support the show (http://timcast.com/donate) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Last night, Rachel Maddow was the first to announce a nationwide protest of Russiagators demanding the release of the Mueller report.
Because even though the left, the right, the center, and most in mainstream media recognize the idea of collusion is dead, Russiagate is a conspiracy, it's over, they refuse to give it up.
Many of these people are just so desperate to believe Trump works with Russia that we actually have someone writing in New York Magazine that they were right all along.
Trump is compromised.
Mueller just couldn't find it.
And now we're going to see tens of thousands of people marching through the streets believing in a conspiracy theory.
Could you imagine tens of thousands of people and a mainstream news broadcaster announcing a 9-11 truth protest?
It's a conspiracy theory.
It's over.
Today, let's take a look at exactly why they're protesting, what their plan is, and some of the news around people who truly believe, even though Mueller said no collusion, at least that's the quote, they think they were right.

Yesterday, breaking from stand-up America, Maddow is first to report on a national day of action that will happen this Thursday, April 4th, if Attorney General Barr does not release the full Mueller report and all underlying evidence to Congress by tomorrow.
at 11.59 p.m. Eastern, which would be tonight if you're watching this video on April 2nd.
Now, the general understanding is that the report may come out in mid-April after there
are some redactions, and the special counsel is working with Barr. But apparently, they're still
planning to protest because it's not soon enough. And this is what Rachel Maddow reported last night.
rachel maddow
If William Barr does not meet the deadline set by Congress to hand over that unredacted report by
tomorrow, and if he is subpoenaed for it on Wednesday, and if the subpoena on Wednesday
also doesn't compel him to turn over the report to Congress, then on Thursday, we'll...
We can report tonight that a group called the Trump is not above the law coalition.
They're planning over 175 protests all over the country on Thursday in response.
This is a coalition group that has a lot of big-name members.
Its component organizations include groups like MoveOn and Indivisible and People for the American Way and a whole bunch of other groups.
Again, 10 days into the Mueller report having been submitted but not yet been released, that coalition confirms to us tonight that unless the Mueller report is out by Thursday, those folks are going to be out in the streets that day in response.

I think to a certain degree it's fair to want to see the Mueller report, because so far we've just gotten a summary from Bill Barr, there may be other damning information in it.
However, it's also true that Bill Barr is being assisted by Robert Mueller.
So if Bill Barr said something that wasn't true about no collusion and no obstruction, then why wouldn't Mueller say anything if Mueller is working with him?
In fact, Rachel Maddow falsely claimed that to be the opposite.
This story from the Washington Examiner.
Fact check.
Maddow's staff corrects her Mueller report error in real time.
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow contradicted her show's own graphic running along the bottom of the screen while talking about special counsel Robert Mueller's final report.
The show's graphic, known as a chyron, accurately stated that Attorney General William Barr was being assisted by Mueller to work through the lengthy document and provide redactions where needed.
But Maddow told MSNBC viewers a different story.
Barr, special counsel is assisting with redactions, was seen at the bottom of the screen while Maddow said, That they'd leave the newly appointed 68-year-old Attorney General William Barr to himself to personally pick through the report to try to figure out what mentions in this 400-page report might pertain to open cases.
They wouldn't leave that to Barr to do that.
Mueller would have done that.
Mueller's team would have done that as part of producing anything that they handed over outside their own offices.
They've done that with every other document they've produced, Maddow said.
But William Barr says it's taking him a really long time, because he's having to do that all himself.
Aaron Maté of the left-wing magazine The Nation tweeted a clip of the video with the caption,
Tip for Matt Ow, if you're going to keep misleading your audience,
make sure your producers aren't correcting you in real time.
If Mueller is assisting Barr, and Barr is saying no collusion, no Russia,
they're still demanding this.
They're still claiming it's true.
And now there's going to be a nationwide protest?
Look, I get it if you're a conspiracy theorist.
There are a lot of weird things that happened around 9-11.
But could you imagine if we had the mainstream personality like Rachel Maddow clamoring that 9-11 was an inside job and then tens of thousands of people with mainstream organizations like MoveOn and People for the American Way started going out in the tens of thousands to protest?
That just sounds ridiculous.
But more importantly, the protest actually seems like a huge reach.
Now, yes, they've organized this in advance, like we saw in Maddow's report, but let's look at the red lines.
Here are the actions Donald Trump could take that would set these protests in motion.
They say, firing Mueller.
He didn't do that.
Pardons of key witnesses.
He didn't do that.
Actions that would prevent the investigation from being conducted freely.
He did not do that.
The Mueller investigation releases findings showing significant wrongdoing by Donald Trump, or the administration blocks the report from seeing Mueller's findings.
But they're not blocking it.
They're going to release it.
Now, it's going to be redacted, but Mueller himself is assisting in this.
If they think Mueller is this great hero, and if he was fired, they'd protest.
Wouldn't they be okay with Mueller assisting in redacting some information?
And did they set a deadline?
No.
So it seems like this protest is a bit of a stretch, and they just want to pull the trigger on something they've organized to get people on the street, if you were to ask me.
The whole thing is just generally anti-Donald Trump sentiment.
They don't like Trump.
They wanted him to be Russian so they could remove him from office.
And in my opinion, Rachel Maddow is just doing this for ratings.
I don't think she really believes it.
But this is a big protest!
There are tens of thousands of people planning on going, at least according to this organization.
TrumpIsNotAboveTheLaw.org.
Rapid response event.
They are calling for the unredacted report.
And they have all of these events organized.
Look, there's even some in the middle of Alaska.
Whatever that is.
What is that?
Golden Heart Plaza in Fairbanks.
Well, we can take a look at what's happening in New York.
22,053 people have signed up to rally in New York City, according to their website.
16,626 in Washington, D.C.
Now, there are many other events.
There's a Baltimore event with about 2,000 attendees.
There's one event in Alexandria, which only has 248.
But there are many events with hundreds to tens of thousands of people who, I guess, are just Conspiracy theorists?
Take a look at this story.
Now, I talked about this on my second channel earlier today, but you have to see this.
It was published this morning, and it's absolutely insane.
I don't understand why MSNBC and New York Magazine are giving space to these kinds of conversations.
From Jonathan Chait, I wrote an article suggesting Trump was compromised by Russia.
I was right.
This one person, Jonathan Chait, thinks he knows more than Robert Mueller, special counsel, and all of the resources and attorneys and all the witnesses was just not enough.
He knows right, he knows better, this one person.
Robert Mueller's failure to establish a criminal conspiracy between Donald Trump and the Russian government has set off a wave of revisionist attacks from both the right and the far left.
Even though the full details of Mueller's report remain secret.
Trump's defenders insist it has negated not only the wild hopes that Trump might be removed from his job through prosecutorial means, but over two years worth of reporting on his suspect relations with Moscow.
It says something to see the Washington Post, Slate, Politico, all of these different outlets saying, enough with this.
And then you still have these massive protests, and you still have around half of Democrats saying continue investigating.
A poll from CBS News says Democrats in Congress should focus more on, and 42% said investigation Trump, even though it's over.
But how do people get to this point where even after basically everybody is saying enough, they still believe it?
Well, let's take a look at this story.
MSNBC jumps gun to claim Q1 ratings win for Rachel Maddow.
This is from Forbes.
There's a certain risk in releasing ratings news releases on April Fool's Day, but for MSNBC, the chance to reverse a week of stories about slumping viewership and a presidential tweet joking about the network's ratings compared with Fox News was reason enough to start April with a bold new headline.
One the network provided to reporters Monday in a news release with a breathless all-caps headline.
MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show is the number one cable news program in A25-54 for the quarter, delivers the show's highest rated quarter ever in total audience.
But the full details on which that headline is based appear at the bottom of the release.
Note, 1Q19 ratings are based on Nielsen Live plus same day data for December 31st, 2018 to March 20th, 2019.
Individual show data represents regular programming, only excluding specials and breaking news.
That means MSNBC didn't stick around for the last three nights of March to declare that The Rachel Maddow Show had made history, posting its highest quarterly rating since the show's debut and averaging 3.07 million total viewers.
Why not wait until Tuesday, when we can compare MSNBC's ratings apples to apples against the competition at Fox News and CNN?
Well, perhaps because a best-ever rating among total viewers might sound somewhat less all-caps dramatic if you have to add the detail while finishing in second place behind Fox News channel Sean Hennedy.
MSNBC reported their ratings Just before the end of March, so they can claim that they were number one, for the most part, and Fox News waited so they could say, no, we're actually number one, you're number two.
This says to me that MSNBC is just trying to sell ads.
They want to make sure everyone sees them as the big dog.
They want the ratings.
It's really sad, in my opinion, to see people who chased after this grift for so long floundering because it's over.
But to organize this massive protest, in my opinion, is kind of scary and dangerous.
People who believe the government is being run by the Russians, who are demanding a release of a report that's going to be released, that Mueller is going to help redact.
It's not this crazy conspiracy.
It's just not happening.
But they really think it is.
I think this is going to hurt the Democrats to a rather absurd degree because they just won't let go.
And Rachel Maddow is doing a huge disservice to Democrats and the left.
This is going to be damaging for them going into 2020.
And you know what?
They don't care.
Because again, it looks to me like Rachel Maddow just wants the ratings.
She just wants the money.
She wants to act like she's number one.
But when you say crazy nonsensical things about Russia infiltrating our government or shutting off our electricity, yeah, people are going to watch.
You're freaking them out.
They trust you.
And then when they find out that you were wrong, they leave.
And your ratings go down.
So they're desperate.
But I'll tell you this.
When people are drowning and they're desperate, they thrash about violently.
And I think before this ends, Rachel Maddow's gonna start saying some really crazy stuff.
But let me know what you think in the comments below.
We'll keep the conversation going.
