There has been a major update in the North Korea situation with the U.S.
Let's go back in time a little bit first.
A while ago, people thought there was going to be total nuclear war between the U.S.
and North Korea, albeit North Korea is not a significant threat to the United States.
But there was this major scare in Hawaii after an employee accidentally set out an alert that was telling people a nuclear missile was on its way.
So the tension was there.
The fears were there.
Many people thought it was only going to get worse and that Trump was doing a bad job.
But now, we're seeing major developments.
Because North Korea has announced an end to its nuclear testing program.
And a CNN reporter actually called this a huge win for Donald Trump.
I don't know what the bigger development is.
North Korea denuclearizing or CNN actually praising Trump.
Forgive me, that's a terrible joke.
De-escalation of war is obviously more important.
But this also means we could see peace between North and South Korea,
which would be a major achievement for Donald Trump.

Our first story from USA Today.
South Korea says it's ready for peace if North Korea denuclearizes.
And this story is from April 18th, just about three days ago.
South Korea would consider negotiating an end to the decades-old Korean War if North Korea commits to denuclearization, a Seoul official said Wednesday.
South Korea's National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong told reporters that the neighboring countries, still technically at war as the 1950-1953 conflict ended in an armistice agreement, This news is a few days old but is extremely important in understanding the context of the next big breaking story.
You may have heard yesterday that North Korea is going to denuclearize.
From the independent, North Korea announces it will stop all nuclear tests and missile launches as Trump hails big progress.
Very good news for the world, U.S.
President tweets.
In an official statement from North Korean TV, they announced they were suspending all nuclear and ICBM tests.
Many countries have welcomed the news.
This is a major development for the rest of the world because North Korea developing nuclear weapons was rather frightening to a lot of people as, well, the people of Hawaii experienced.
And what was the response from CNN?
Actually, rather interesting.
From Mediaite.
CNN reporter in North Korea left speechless by nuclear announcement, calling it a huge win for President Trump.

Wolf, I just got off the phone with a North Korean official who confirms news that is breaking right now in North Korean state media.
Kim Jong-un has announced to his country and his own people that he has completed his nuclear program and therefore there is no need to continue developing nuclear weapons.
Kim Jong Un saying North Korea no longer needs any nuclear tests, mid-range and intercontinental ballistic missile tests, and he's saying the nuclear test site in the northern area near the Chinese border at Punggye-ri has completed its mission, therefore will likely be closed.
This is an extraordinarily significant development and, frankly, a huge win for President Trump
going into these discussions, this potential summit, with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Well, I have to say, I am really almost speechless here at the pace at which North Korea has
done this U-turn.
And this all started with Donald Trump agreeing to sit down for a summit with Kim Jong-un.
Kim Jong-un has gone from being cast aside as the ruler of a global portion, now he has
a meeting next week with the President of South Korea.
Xi Jinping reportedly making plans to visit him in Pyongyang, something that the Chinese president would have never considered before.
You have Russia and Japan reaching out, trying to schedule their own summit with Kim Jong-un.
And the U.S.
and North Korea are still working, we believe, to finalize a date and location for this historic sit-down with President Trump.
I've been speaking with diplomatic sources over the last week who were optimistic, believing that President Trump might be the one U.S.
president who can figure out a way to break through to North Korea.
This announcement from North Korean state media does confirm a dramatic shift.
CNN's Will Ripley, one of the few journalists who regularly reports from the repressive hermit kingdom, phoned in to Wolf Blitzer's show on Friday night to cover the breaking news.
He said, So does this mean that World War III is off the table?
No.
Because when people talk about World War III today, which is April 21st, they're talking about Russian conflict, not North Korea.
The North Korea tension was several months ago, and now the tension is with Russia.
And there's some news there, and I'm going to get into that in just a second.
But before I do, I want to make a few points about the state of media and Donald Trump in the presidency.
There has been a lot of good that has come out of Donald Trump being president, and that is that people are protesting executive authority.
There's a reason we have checks and balances in this country.
It's because no one party is supposed to be more powerful than the other to prevent corruption and tyranny.
And with Donald Trump as president, you've seen a ton of people try to pull back those powers.
When Obama was president, when George W. Bush was president, massive powers were granted to the executive branch that were fairly alarming to anybody who believes in freedom.
There was the National Defense Authorization Act, which included the indefinite detention provision.
That's pretty scary.
We saw the creation of Directive 51 under George W. Bush, which would allow the president to dissolve and reform the government.
There's a lot of dangerous powers that rest in the executive branch.
So a lot of people protesting the executive branch, protesting Trump and his administration.
Not all bad.
However, there is a lot of obstructive behavior and people who are unwilling to concede when something really profound happens.
Right now, no matter what you think about the president, it would be hard to deny that under his watch, for whatever reason, this is happening with North Korea.
I personally disagree with war and intervention.
That's just me.
I understand there are a lot of people that are for war and intervention, and it's worth having a conversation about, but I am very, very much opposed to taking action in foreign countries, especially when we don't really know what's going on.
So when we're looking at what happened in Syria last year, with the Tomahawk missile strike, and the strikes that happened just a few days ago, I have to be very critical of this kind of intervention, especially when it's so soon after the alleged chemical attacks, and I am no fan of U.S.
foreign intervention.
Donald Trump has engaged in acts of war, in my opinion.
I mean, I know some people are going to argue whether or not it's a limited scope intervention, or we're actually at war, but we are bombing a foreign country.
But when it comes to North Korea, this is a significant development.
And don't take my word for it, don't listen to my opinion, CNN's Will Ripley said this was a big win for Donald Trump.
A huge success, and I think it's important to note that when something good happens, we need to encourage that kind of result and that behavior.
If we're just going to criticize Trump and take credit away whenever something good happens, there's no encouraging the president or the administration to do things that we actually like.
So in this instance, denuclearization and potential for peace in the Korean peninsula is amazing, and I think credit is due where it's due.
But we're not out of the woods yet, because Russia has told its study abroad students it's time to come home.
A Russian government agency is calling on Russians studying at universities abroad to come home to continue their studies, a campaign that appears tied to the sharp downward spiral in relations between Moscow and the West.
As we know, the domestic politics in a host of countries, and in Europe in particular, have increasingly taken on a harshly expressed anti-Russian character.
We are obligated to highlight the negative influence of Russophobic attitudes on the activity of our compatriots, which purposely narrow their opportunities for self-realization.
A lot of people are saying that this news is another sign that there's a potential for conflict between the US and Russia.
That Russia is trying to bring back its citizens because we might actually see some real full-scale conflict.
In which case, Russian citizens in foreign countries that don't like Russia?
Not a good mix.
But keep in mind, this isn't the first time Russia has done something like this.
this.
From The Sun in October 2016, war-ready Putin orders all Russian children and relatives
studying abroad to return to the motherland as he prepares for World War III.
Workers were repeatedly told to pull their children out of school immediately, reports
the Daily Star.
The top-level order applies to administration staff, regional administrators, lawmakers
of all levels, and employees of public corporations.
Those that do not obey the edict will find the future employment prospect in tatters.
The reason for the urgent recall is unclear, but one top analyst said it could be a hint war is on its way.
Russian political analyst Stanislav Belkovsky said, Russia recently held defense drills for 40 million citizens in apparent preparation for an all-out nuclear war.
And earlier this month, Putin's ministers announced they had built bunkers capable of housing Moscow's 14 million people.
So just because they've done this before and nothing happened, doesn't mean nothing is going to happen again.
It could just be that Russia put out this warning saying, come back, and not enough people listened, so they're doing it again.
This actually could be a sign that we are seeing escalation.
So here we are.
We are seeing excellent, amazing news from the Korean peninsula.
Potential for peace between North and South Korea would be amazing.
We're seeing North Korea announce denuclearization.
Absolutely fantastic news.
But at the same time, the rhetoric and escalation between Russia seems to be worse than ever.
So is there a potential for World War III?
Yeah, sure, there's always a potential for World War III.
We've got countries all over the world with nuclear weapons, and who knows what'll happen.
But when we see these statements from Russia, when we see the increased rhetoric against Russia, and then we see the military strike on Syria, it seems like, although we have great news around the Korean peninsula, The news elsewhere is just getting worse.
So let me know what you think in the comments below.
How do you feel about what is happening in North Korea?
CNN called this a big win for Donald Trump.
Does Trump deserve credit for this?
I know some people are already saying that it was more than him and it was more than what Trump said and did that made this change happen.
But many others are noting that this is a direct result of Trump's administration.
