Today I want to elaborate a bit on whether Mark Lobliner is a bro scientist or not.
But first, let me be quite clear that I really like Mark Lobliner.
This, what is he now?
That's a man right there.
That's fucking Alfa in my book.
He takes care of his boys and his daughter and he has hustles and grinds to ensure a safe and prosperous future for them.
So great respect and he has a lot of solid ideas when it comes to he has the exact right mindset when it comes to family values and business values and just you know man values as it were.
However, with that said, let's talk a bit about the fitness part because he has a really large YouTube channel and obviously has a large influence in the fitness community as it were.
So I want to talk a bit about whether he's a bro scientist or not.
And I just chose him because I like him and I don't want any hateful banter back and forth.
I want just you know light-hearted banter and I know that he can take criticism and come back with it.
Now I don't expect any response from him because I know he's a busy man.
So either way I chose him to be a sort of representative for bodybuilders in a larger sense.
Now what you have to keep in mind here and I also respect him for the fact that he's honest with what he is doing.
So he's honest that like the gaming rules I'm playing is different from yours if you're a natural.
Like for me, I said like it doesn't really matter if I'm natural.
I can tell you now that I am natural.
Yeah I am.
Every advice I'm giving, every schedule I am writing for a client, every online client, I assume they are natural.
And that's important when you set the progression rate and the volume and frequency etc.
So that is where I'm coming from.
However, there are a lot of guys on steroids perhaps watching this as well.
And I'm going to be straight up honest with you.
Like if you are on gear, there are probably better coaches than I out there.
Definitely, there is.
Because you can, if you're on gear, you can make faster progress than a natural can.
Simple as that.
So if you're on gear, I'm not the coach for you.
Sorry, but I am not.
And that is where other bodybuilders come into play.
Because they know they can give the best advice to guys on gear, for example.
Whereas I can't.
Like, so if you take my advice, that is directly for naturals.
Some of it might apply if you're geared.
I honestly don't know.
And that is the beauty of YouTube.
That you can go to a channel where there is a guy on gear and he can give very legit advice that I can't.
So it becomes bro science if a bodybuilder per se gives advice to naturals and say like, oh, you can do this and that.
But it works for him.
It works for other guys that are geared.
It doesn't work for natural.
Same token.
For me, it is bro science what I'm saying if you apply that to a geared lifter.
So is Mark Lobliner a bro scientist or not?
Well, yes and no.
He obviously gives solid advice, but if you're natural, you shouldn't really look to him to try to replicate his methods or always listen to what he says is optimal to develop legs.
Like he has a lot of videos talking about good leg development.
For me it's quite simple.
How to progress in the squats.
That's what we're doing.
We're not looking at optimizing any angles.
I know what works.
Science knows what works.
Empirical evidence knows what works for naturals.
You have to get strong as fuck in the squats with a good form.
There's nothing more to it really.
Whereas a lot of bodybuilders are chasing these different angles etc.
And that might work for them.
They can get away with it.
As a natural, you have to train hardest and you have to have a solid frequency.
You can't get away with training everything once a week.
You can't get away with an eight-hour arm workout.
You have to train arms like every day if you want or every other day.
For me, I'm squatting at least two times a week.
At a fucking solid session today, which you'll probably have seen or will see later on this channel.
Quite proud of that.
Actually.
So yeah, that's my conclusion.
Didn't really talk much about Mark Lobline.
I just wanted to utilize him as an example because that's a guy I really respect in other endeavors.
