Today we're gonna do God's work and I thought this battle would be very interesting.
Considering how much I've been talking about Christianity versus Paganism, and as it is a reoccurring theme, I thought that the Battle Of The Phrygius River would be very appropriate for me to play, as I am on the wrong side, as it were, since I am a Pagan myself.
But, as I always say, like I have a lot of true friends who are Christians and you can be a true friend and a Christian as well.
And as always, I will remind you all that I have my no less than two necklaces necklace I don't know how you say it, really they have a cross and the all father himself.
It's one necklace I have.
The other one is you've seen this before the hammer of Thor and the cross of the Christians.
So the Phrygius River I've actually played it on very hard already.
I will just go with hard now, because it is much, much harder to be interactive and to make a cool let's play than when you're just by yourself and playing.
So that's the reason for it and that's also the reason sometimes my performance isn't isn't the best when I play ladies, but as you see here, conflict arose within the Roman Senate due to the Christianization of the Empire.
After gaining power in the West, Flavius Eugenius appointed pagan senators to key positions in the government.
Taking umbrage Teodesius, Emperor of the East, attacked at the Phrygidis River.
And now obviously Teodosius was a devout Christian, so he couldn't have none of that pagan paganism.
And then also I I'm merely speculating now, but I suppose it was a bit of a show off between the Eastern Roman Empire and the Western Roman Empire, where the Eastern Romans tried to solidify their power as the the better of the two.
So we're gonna go into the battle right now.
And you see they are.
We have Visigothic allies, but they outnumber our Romans.
So we're gonna start the battle right now for God himself.
alright let's enjoy this cinematic true friends pagan sympathizer Eugenius leader of the Western Empire contests the Christianization of Rome the Eastern Emperor Theodosius I a devout Christian has marched an army from the east to challenge Eugenius Theodosius legions are bolstered by his Visigothic allies led by their chieftain Alaric Alaric the Glorious
The two sides finally clash on the banks of the Frigidus River.
The future of the Empire will be decided on this battlefield.
Alright, highly glorious indeed.
Let's take a moment to admire the Visigoths first.
Look at this, the crack units of the Visigoths.
And we will actually do like this.
The key to this battle is taking out the General Eugenius the Glorious.
Now, the fun thing here is I would actually rather have been the pagans, but I'm doing it for my Christian true friends.
And I actually have a Christian true friend who is studying to be a priest.
So, Josef Edwal, big shout out to you, much love from your semi-pagan friend here.
But I will make you make all my Christian true friends also shout out the patriarchy at Facebook.
So, this is for you guys.
But let's not get overconfident now.
We will try to win this battle here as well.
And the key to that lies within taking out the general.
So, I'm gonna send out my own cavalry in all actuality to try to, as usual, take out him as soon as soon as possible.
A lot of SS there.
Hard for a Swedish guy to pronounce.
Also, Alaric I is our Visigothic ally.
And I've actually thought about naming one of my sons Aularik.
Really cool name.
Now, it isn't a common Swedish name or anything, but if it ends with Rik, it can be quite common indeed.
Frederick is a common enough Swedish name, actually.
And I know a guy called Gutrik, also.
Very, very cool.
And then another one of my sons called Gustav.
In all actuality.
A lot of Swedish kings bear that name.
So I'm going to speed up the gameplay just a bit now.
And they are responding to my advances there.
And we're going to let the Visigoths take the runt there.
And we're just going to sneak up behind them.
And see what crack is.
Okay, cool.
Their general is.
Alright, let's speed them up.
Not the gameplay per se, because this will be crucial.
Utilize heavy shots and on you as well.
And go time now, brothers for God himself!
No, get at him, boys.
I'll corn him.
Get at him, boys.
Heavy melee cavalry.
And the key to the battle lies within taking out this general.
Ah, there we are.
Come on now.
Glory to Roman!
to God in heaven. Glory.
And now it would be prudent to walk in with the rest of my troops here.
But as I said, the key to the battle lies here.
Okay, they're getting a lot of support there from their infantry.
I'm still rocking my barbarian beard.
It would probably have been more suitable, I mean, if I was clean shaven, as according Roman ideals I'm gonna try to get.
Get him.
Don't you flee now.
Come on, Aeginis.
The punishment of God will be upon thee.
Let's admire when he dies now.
Yes, glory to God in heaven.
His false gods could not stop him.
Save him.
I mean obviously, their pagan gods could not stop the true father god.
I'm feeling a bit bad here to to slay my, my pagan brothers like this actually.
Okay, so this went better than expected.
This we should have.
The battle now in all actuality should not be that much of a hustle when, when the general is dead, because that is the case when in Total War, that you get the general, and that's, that's good.
It's really good, because when, when you lose your leader, you you don't know what to do and the morale is breaking.
Now, what Alexander The Great did that was what made him so lovely always led the charge, so the men could draw inspiration from that.
He led from the front, did not ask anything of his soldiers that he wasn't willing to do himself, and that obviously is is inspiring.
So it's good that they've taken that kind of psychological thing into the game.
So that they aren't totally immune to psychology, as it were, and they'll try to chase those guys.
So we're gonna, now that we have basically the game, the battle in our, in our pocket I won't say that yet, but you can admire the action of it stand firms.
It would be embarrassing if I lose now, when I talked about winning here, but no, I should have this.
And this is about as Christian I get.
But I will create, I will start a new campaign with the Western Roman Empire.
That that's just something I want to do.
And for me to have a, a good YouTube channel, I need to do what I, what I want to do myself, and no, Alaric has been struck down how, how blasphemous, blasphemy.
So, and I'm really pumped up for that.
I realize that there's probably a higher demand for other things on my channel, but You know, it's rather me playing that just by myself because I want to do it.
I love Total War.
I've played Total War since I was 14, that's 11 years ago.
So I really want that and I hope people can at least sense my excitement for it.
So that's actually what's up.
But...
But if you are more into my other videos, like I try to make a lot of videos regarding everything, so it's not the case that I'm ever taking time out of other videos to make gaming videos or anything like that.
And for me to make this historical Let's Plays, like for this battle, for example, I genuinely had no clue before I opened up Attila and said to myself, like, okay, cool, let's make a Let's Play.
I had no idea about the Frigidus River.
I had no idea that the Western and Eastern Roman Empire actually clashed in open battle.
And that's something I really enjoy with gaming as well, that you learn so much.
So that's glorious.
That's really glorious.
I love that.
I'm gonna speed up the gameplay now.
So we got this victory.
Cool, cool.
wonderful and um as i might have said like i i do try to this is a learning experience for me as well to concentrate on two things at the same time To concentrate on actually winning the battle and being talkative.
So that is progression in all farms.
And I am looking at my beard right now.
Don't know for how much more I will have it.
Perhaps it should have been more suitable if I made a barbarian campaign, let's play with a beard, and then when I'm Romance, I switch back to the clean shave again.
But we'll see.
I'll shave it, I mean, during the summer.
All right, let's boom.
The last remnant.
In God's name!
For God Himself!
Highly glorious.
Okay, there you go.
To all of my Christian tree friends.
I dedicate it to you.
Alright, wonderful.
Cool.
Close victory.
Theodosius, Alaric and Eugenius.
An epic clash.
So thank you very much for watching.
Feel free to come with any comments that might be fun for me to read.
Otherwise, drop a like if you have liked the video.
And as I said, more videos of everything is coming.
