Jakari Jack's reporting from Charleston, South Carolina at the base of the Ravenel Bridge.
It begins right beyond that fire truck.
Now, as you can see, there are several thousand people lined all the way down this street.
Try to zoom. | |
We're going way down there.
And my understanding is the reason they chose this location is when these photos come out, it's going to be a very iconic shot.
Of all these people linked hand in hand going across the bridge.
Because before this, you know, you'd have marches, demonstrations, prayer vigils, you know, 50 people here, a thousand people there.
They said, let's get everybody together at one time and in one place so we can really show how many people are in support of the nine victims of Emanuel AME. And as I'm speaking to you, there are several people still arriving, even...
Probably can't zoom that far, but way down that street, there's a group of people walking in the distance, coming to the location.
Buses come around every now and then and drop people off.
People are still coming in their personal vehicles.
So it's going to be quite the sight to see. |
