Jakari Jackson here broadcasting from Cleveland, Ohio.
Taking a look at Cleveland's downtown area, which is actually pretty nice.
But of course, we're out here waiting for the verdict of what's going to happen with Officer Brillo in the shootings of 2012 where he jumped on the hood of the car and put several rounds into two unarmed suspects.
And I was reading an article earlier today talking about how pretty much they've pulled out all the stops as far as engaging with community leaders.
They're going to talk to everybody from youth leaders to motorcycle clubs.
And of course, from Texas, we just had a recent shooting this past weekend in Waco.
Waco, which is between Dallas and Austin.
And things got pretty hot and heated.
Between the rival factions, I guess you would say.
Shots rang out and there's speculation that could be more to come.
Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
But I guess they're heeding the warning here in Cleveland.
They said, we're going to reach out to the motorcycle clubs.
We're going to reach out to former gang members.
We're going to reach out to anybody we think could possibly stop anything that would even remotely resemble what we've seen in some of the other cities.
So, you know, I definitely applaud the community leaders to do that.
I think some of the actions by the community leaders definitely help lessen the blow of what we saw in Baltimore.
So, you know, I'm all for it.
So we'll keep you updated as things develop. |
