Second part of our first night here in Baltimore with Jakari Jackson along with Joe Biggs.
That's right.
And we had our guys from the studio calling in saying they were having some issues, so we dropped the bit rate of our broadcast.
It may drop the quality, but hopefully you guys will be able to see it better.
They said it was cutting out.
But as of right now, there isn't a whole lot to see, which is good.
You know, I don't need any.
Riots or tear gas or rubber bullets coming in my direction.
So when you guys last joined us, Joe Biggs was talking to his contacts.
We'll find out.
I'm still waiting to hear what they just said there was like tons of Humvees coming in the area.
All right.
so that's the word so wait to see what these zombies bring if they're coming to this direction I thought it was only one of the director of Peru is to pay and.
Thank you very much.
I learned it's going, I don't know.
And with this, I feel like they shut down pretty much the whole city.
It's not like a Ferguson where it's just a curfew on a street or a few streets.
I'm very disappointed that they can't even go to the wall for us.
Okay, so I'm getting word that the stream is back and better so I'm getting word that the stream is back and better than I'll give you guys a shout of what's going on here.
Some of the officers.
This is just a small section of them.
You can't see them all.
And they got that street blocked off.
We came from that direction.
You guys can go watch the earlier feed.
Or you can wait until we drop this stuff out on YouTube.
Later tonight, tomorrow.
They go all the way past.
I mean, past where that light is.
Yeah, I got it.
I'm doing that right now.
So they go all the way down the street.
We got the riot sticks.
Tear gas.
Earlier we saw a guy shoot a paintball gun.
Rapid fire at somebody in the crowd.
We saw this guy get shot in the butt on a bicycle.
I don't know how long this is going to last.
They're not really even having a stare down with anybody.
They're just standing in their post.
And curfew lasts until 5 a.m.
So now I'm wondering if these guys will be out here until 5 a.m.
Hey, where's the...
We just try to get some intel.
That's the guy that I wanted to meet when I came down here because he's the biggest cornball.
He sits around with his poofy hair, just doing the dumbest crap.
Who is that?
Leland something.
oh, OK sounds like something's OK sounds like something's popping out here - Pull it off. -
Look over here.
I guess this is the sheriff's department.
That's quite a big beer.
These guys are homing.
They're not ready, low ready.
Something like that.
Got guys riding around over here.
As you can see, look at that.
They got a big troop carrier taking them around, going around the side.
I mean, this is definitely the only area I know that has this many police.
I heard there were some people at 55th and Cottage, but I don't even know how to get there.
I can't even get on my phone to even get a signal to use the GPS right now so.
I will say, that far all the officers have been pretty well behaved.
Haha.
I can't stand it.
There's a lot of these guys behind.
There are guys in behind these guys.
It's like the Calvary or something.
I don't know if you can see.
Too well it's dark.
Let me just switch it on to Nightmare for just one second.
I think you can see a little bit of those guys.
They're behind these guys.
They're behind these guys.
They're behind these guys.
They're behind these guys.
Look, they're taking pictures.
They're behind these guys.
Oh, you guys are taking a group photo.
I'm gonna get in here and see.
I guess that's gonna be in the next recruitment video. - Yeah,
if you guys if you guys are watching on the new stadium, It's a bit distracting.
We got people communicating with me from the office.
Telling me if the stream is not looking the best it can.
Oh yeah, they're not too keen on us moving around a bit.
That's why we can't move too much.
Here comes another vehicle.
That's the National Guard?
Yeah.
Alright, so I see...
- You want to start, two? - Two left, he's up there.
I don't know what, I just said that we gotta move back. - As you can see here,
there's an area down the road somewhere where there's an area down the road somewhere where
there's a bunch of The National Guard is starting to line up.
So there's somewhere around here.
Obviously we just saw two roll through.
I'm sneezing because there's still a bit of that tear gas in the air.
With the wind to blow every now and again.
yeah I hit you yeah yeah yeah We're gonna do it. - It's coming off. - It's coming off.
- It's coming off.
- It's coming off.
This is a church.
They say if you need mouthful or attention you can come here.
When we were out in Ferguson, there was a lady walking down the street.
She had a gas mask on.
She walked up to me and Dixon, like, you guys okay?
Once they started shooting the tear gas and all that stuff.
So it is nice to see people who are generally concerned about their fellow man.
Big ol' boy.
Big ol' boy.
Those vehicles blew in too.
I don't know if they are going to some new location or if they are calling in a night.
Yeah, so it looks like one by one the vehicles so it looks like one by one the vehicles are peeling off.
Now here goes this one.
This one's leaving too.
So yeah, maybe they had it for the night.
They're slowly leaving one by one the vehicles.
But I'm sure everybody would rather be at home, all these officers, home with their families.
Here comes another one, or two more.
I guess they were coming from that side of the street down there.
These may be those zombies we heard about.
The 55th in College Grove, that's in Chicago.
There's a big protest going on right there.
Several arrests amidst the police violence protests going on in Chicago.
So that's what's happening right now.
So we have some military vehicles pulled up.
They said people were throwing trash cans earlier, so they have to be moving these trash cans out of the street.
So that's another additional three.
Some bees coming through.
You can hear a blast where people are throwing trash cans.
trash cans earlier out here in the road.
They drive over all the glass and everything.
That's great.
Now.
I mean, that's the...
That's great.
There's not a whole lot of space to move around here.
I'm going to put it in a second.
Fire truck pulling up.
I don't know if they have some type of emergency.
Hey, so the CVS got burned down.
It's the main area that really helps this community out a lot.
It's where a lot of people go and get groceries, food, drink, water, things like that.
It's the closest thing in this area for them to use.
That's right up the street.
That's the one that was burnt down last night and looted.
So, you know, it's a bad thing.
You know, we saw it in Ferguson.
It burnt the whole city down.
And the thing when that happens is, is what kind of business owner is going to want to rebuild and or come back?
back what other kind of people from the outside are going to want to come in and try to rebuild they brought up i don't know if somebody got hurt they brought out the fire department
okay like look over here that's the us national guard
oh they're over there bitch can you see them way on that other far street there's a vehicle that's a whole lot yeah that's a whole lot of fun things all coming down that street
uh-huh
they didn't walk down here for some reason
uh rob new who's enjoying a nice coffee seat at the house i'm sure children are all tucked in the bed he's saying he's enjoying the smell of the tear gas
I don't know what these guys are doing.
They brought a bunch of Humvees down here.
I guess they're coming out here.
Maybe it's a relief change?
But they also have two fire trucks now.
Oh, I guess a fire truck.
There's maybe an ambulance coming out here.
Yeah I'm not sure if this is a template block the The streets are what these guys are doing.
But there really wasn't a whole lot of people down that street anyway.
Well, maybe that's why they chose it.
low population or at least visible population stress fractures.
You're welcome.
Welcome.
What's up brother?
How you doing?
You're welcome.
I know what he wanted to do but I don't make some more.
I'll make some more.
I'll make some more.
So if you join us, we've been down here for an hour, probably a little more than that.
Just far we haven't seen a whole lot of movement.
We saw a guy get shot in the butt, I guess with a rubber bullet.
He was riding a bike and yelling stuff at the cops.
And we also saw them shoot a paintball gun and somebody couldn't see.
Somebody was out of my view.
The building was blocking.
But other than that, it's been pretty quiet.
Every officer we've encountered thus far has been very kind and respectful.
They say, you press?
We say, yeah.
That's pretty much the end of the conversation.
Nobody's aimed a gun at me that I'm aware of.
So, things are going pretty well.
All things considered.
And it is...
Just before midnight.
Baltimore time.
Oh, is he here?
Nope.
I was a couple of minutes.
I'm very interested in one of the copies of the image once.
So long.
Oh, is he here?
Nope.
I was a couple of minutes.
Very interesting one of the copies of the image once.
So long.
Why did you do that shot?
I was driving down.
Yeah, I was driving down from Chicago.
Back in Chicago.
And like, right in college.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Looks like they brought some trucks up, though.
And I'm sorry.
Look at that street a little congested.
Got some vans over there, too.
These guys.
You can see over there.
They're not going to be in the middle of the street.
Looks like the main area is probably down here where the CVS is.
Let's go down there and check it out.
See if we can walk around.
What are you looking at?
What are you looking at?
As you can see, these guys are acting a lot nicer than the police officers in Ferguson, which would not even let us pass them any time we were there.
I mean, they would try to hit us with a baton, attack us, do whatever.
Yeah.
I think it's a slow learning process, but I think they get smarter every time one of these things happen.
And it's unfortunate, obviously, every time this thing happens.
Getting smarter how, though?
smarter how to roll out of martial law
I don't know that's a paddy wagon
look at this You got all blacked out, hungry, a whole bunch of police officers over here.
Do what?
What are you looking for?
We're just going to walk down.
We shouldn't be back here right now.
No one said anything to us.
We just walked past.
Oh, I understand.
Okay.
That's why we were saying it then.
Oh, okay.
We're just going to walk down that way, can't we?
No.
We can go around.
We can go around.
That way.
That way.
No, that way.
Never mind, I take that back.
Just nix everything I just said earlier.
Oh, a little bit.
There might be room inside.
Look at all these vehicles.
There's a lot of people in the car.
They don't just have the military vehicles.
because they also have cruisers, the sudans, the Suburbans. - This area definitely smells like tear gas big time.
Brings back memories.
Did you get that sign at all?
I'll be right back.
I'm out of here in an hour.
The curfew's been in effect about two hours.
I have not witnessed anybody getting arrested.
No, not yet.
I don't know if anybody has.
but I've definitely not witnessed it if you ask after me.
No selling.
What do you want to do?
I'm thinking, let's try to get in the car and see if we can get around to the CVS a different way.
That seems to be like the ground zero.
Yeah, okay.
I don't want to walk.
I want to get in the car and drive.
Okay.
Coming around, sir.
Maybe it just varies from street to street.
What?
Maybe it just varies from street to street.
These guys down here seem pretty cool.
If you go back the other way, they start freaking out.
Oh, let me get shot.
As you can see, these police officers are having the time of their these police officers are having the time of their life.
They don't look like they're in any shape, way, or form.
I'm assuming that's an accident.
They don't look like they're in any kind of way nervous about anything.
They're just kind of like hanging around, joking.
I just saw one of the state troopers take a picture of his own MRAP. They're starting to deploy out National Guard up and down all these roads, I'm sure any minute.
At some point in the next probably hour they're gonna get tired and that's what they're gonna start scooping up anybody He's still out Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah All right guys you can hang tight.
Let's get in the car and go to next location.

As we approach the vehicle.
Oh Look out here.
Why not?
But I'll down at the other end of the street.
All right.
Oh, crap.
Well, it's a very uneventful evening so far.
Yeah, but hey, uneventful is good sometimes.
Well, it's definitely good.
The question is, though, is how long?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But hey, I mean, if something was going to happen, probably would have happened by now.
District, with a total of 10 arrests, he said, quote, this curfew is working.
Authorities also announcing that additional national bar troops are being deployed to North and Pennsylvania to keep the peace.
That's where we're just at.
About a two to three block radius.
In addition, the officer that was injured earlier in the evening, an update on his condition was not available, but Commissioner Bass did say that three to four juveniles were arrested in that area earlier this evening.
That's the latest from police headquarters in Baltimore.
Chuck Carroll, News Radio 99.1.
Thank you, Chuck.
WNAW continuing our team coverage in Baltimore.
Chris San Carlo has been observing a police perimeter near North and Pennsylvania.
Where the action has been for the past couple of days.
He tells us things are quieting down as more forces arrive on the scene.
We have several different police agencies here.
So, I don't know if you guys heard that first part of what they were saying.
They said about 10 people have been arrested.
They must have been in some different location than we were.
And they said one officer was injured, but they didn't know that.
That wasn't that area.
It was just earlier on in the evening.
Oh, earlier.
Okay.
May before.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
So we got that clear.
And also they said an officer was hurt sometime earlier, I don't know, before, after courtesy, whatever.
I can tell you there were a lot down by National Harbor and towards a lot of those kind of critical business districts.
There is a line of police cars now coming off North Avenue.
They're taking a, it looks like they're seeing an infound turn coming off of Fulton Avenue.
They're going northbound on Fulton Avenue, taking a right onto North Avenue.
I got one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven Guess we're huffing it.
And speaking of the National Guard, that's why we've got two National Guard to start.
Alright guys.
Let's figure out what we can do from here.
Ugh.
Yeah, he might be back.
He thinks all such is gas-masking cars.
I never really thought It's kind of like that scene in Friday.
He's like, I never would've moved this.
You need a gun to walk down the damn street.
You need a gas mask to go to work.
Yep, so you guys can watch this.
Share the streams on your Twitters and Facebooks.
Say hey.
On the interwebs.
on the interwebs and let your peeps know what's going on.
You know, and honestly I didn't really know what to expect when we got out here today, you know, how we'd be perceived by the police, or I guess just media in general.
But, uh, by and large, they've been pretty cool.
I mean, we just briefly had that incident with those other guys, but...
Wow, this looks like a freakin'...
He's a bad neighbor.
It's shining a light on Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh, crap.
I don't know where I'm going.
Come on, see.
Just trying to figure out our navigation.
We didn't have a chance to check out the city before we got here, so get a little tied up at times.
We've got some officers over here.
You're going to be quite treated by our presence.
Yeah, I'd imagine there's no direct route to it.
I'm not sure if we're going to be able to do that.
While he works on that navigation, let's take a bit of a look of the neighborhood.
Good.
Thank you.
- Bye. - Bye. - Bye.
I guess it's covering up that hole.
The lives we live.
What a wrong?
All right, I'm going to head back to the vehicle.
All right.
We got a lot more cops patrolling around.
Yeah.
All right, guys, just bear with us.
We try to get to the next location Yeah, yeah, probably I probably I Yeah, I guess we can.
Alright guys, I think we're about to call the night, so we're just going to shoot our out for the evening, and then we'll reconvene with you guys tomorrow.
Hey, thanks for watching today, too.
You know, hey, we got out here a little bit later, but we got down here, try to do what we can do a little bit.
Tomorrow's going to be a new day.
We're going to get out early, scope the police out, find out what's going on, look on Twitter.
That's where everyone starts talking about where the protests are going to be, what's going to be going on.
You know, like we heard in the radio just a second ago, the area where we were just at, where all the National Guard, police, state troopers, all that is, that's been the hot zone thus far.
So more than likely, we'll just be out in that area all day tomorrow.
And just tune in tomorrow.
Just keep the same stream.
It's going to be on the exact same channel.
So tomorrow, repost it again.
Share it with your friends and get everybody out here watching this.
