Time Text
Hi, I'm Dr.
Pachenik and today I want to talk about Trump's soft coup against Nicolas Maduro, the ongoing president of Venezuela, while at the same time in that soft coup, what he did was to recognize The Juan Guiado, a 35-year-old engineer who was the head of the National Assembly and said, this is the ongoing president of Venezuela, not Maduro.
In effect, that was called a soft coup.
A soft coup as opposed to a hard coup.
Overthrowing the leader with military force.
That's called a hard coup.
I've been involved in both a soft coup and a hard coup.
Now, what makes this particular coup interesting is that Trump has been threatened by Russia that says they will intervene into this soft coup and force the Americans to get out of the situation and overthrow Juan Guiado If the Americans don't stop their recognition of Juan Guiado.
So what we have here is a state in between a soft coup and a hard coup.
But let me explain why Venezuela is in trouble.
1995, there was a man by the name of Maduro who was the president of the country.
I'm sorry, Hugo Chavez.
Hugo Chavez Ran that country and lost over $100 billion over a period of about 15 years and brought it from a number one oil exporter into literally a bankrupt company which had no food, no water, no medicine for its people.
Over 3 million Venezuelans left the country over that period and Maduro took over, continued the cronyism, continued the corruption and And even forced Venezuela into a worse state where 17 countries in Latin America said it's a disaster, it needs a change.
And the OAS and the 17 countries recognized Trump's soft coup.
So what we have here is an emergency state where we took over the government using no military force.
Now, the Chinese have said they may intervene because they owe about $60 billion to the Chinese for oil and loans that were given to To Venezuela on the part of the Chinese.
The Russians, Putin in particular, said he may intervene with military force because he is owed $10 billion in oil and $10 billion in military contracts.
But we will see what happens.
What I'm impressed with is the fact that Trump Secretary of State Pompeo and Senator Marco Rubio really organized all of this in a very efficient, quiet way to overthrow the ongoing corrupt regime and allow a young man who has never been tested before but came out of the National Assembly,
Juan Guiado, to be the new leader of Now, let me tell you what the problem is.
The problem is if there is a military intervention on behalf of the Russians or the Chinese and or the Cubans, We will be forced to intervene militarily or with paramilitary forces.
I've been involved in such a situation and it's not very pleasant because we do get into conflict.
We get into situations where we can't control the ongoing chaos.
At this particular point in time, the country is so bereft of any resources that it's very hard to restart this country into a viable entity.
Let me quote you Antonio Noriega, who I took out on a soft coup when he said to me, America is really not a good ally.
No matter how I align myself with the Americans, I feel like I will always be overthrown.
He was essentially overthrown on both a soft coup on my behalf and a harder coup on behalf of the military.
Another individual, Mr.
Marcos of the Philippines, said, My American friends overthrew me.
I'm absolutely shocked.
