Hey everybody, Stefan Molyneux from Free Domain.
I hope you're doing well. I hope you're having a wonderful, wonderful weekend.
Is it time? Yes. Yes, it is in fact that time to catch up on all the good, the bad, and the ugly of the world's biggest and most popular philosophy show, Free Domain Radio.
There's some good, there's some bad.
Let's get the bad out of the way.
Now, the general hammer blows of suppression, deplatforming and outright lies have fallen pretty heavily on Free Domain Radio and of course on me, Personally, my face was featured not once, not twice, but three times on an above-the-fold front-page edition of the Sunday New York Times about radicalization.
Radicalization. In it, there was a guy who complained about being radicalized, which meant that he went from not having a job to having a job, and from not having a girlfriend to having a girlfriend.
Also, not too long ago, I was viciously deplatformed from trying to give a speech out in Vancouver, which was a nice change from being viciously deplatformed from trying to give a speech in New Zealand.
The usual leftist tactics of threats, vandalism, and direct physical confrontation were all deployed.
During this assault, the mainstream media attacked me as well, joining in with the leftists.
They had no criticisms of all of the violent suppression of my right to free speech.
Even Ben Shapiro has attacked me.
So that's a challenge. Now, also, as you may have noticed if you've looked at my numbers, at the end of January, this is of 2019, YouTube implemented suppression algorithms on my channel, which caused views to, well, just plain collapse.
I've been working really, really hard to get views back up with some success.
My subscriber count on YouTube has also been stalled for months.
Some days, hundreds of subscribers vanish for no apparent reason.
Now, I have some sympathy for YouTube.
Of course, they are a software company primarily.
They're not moral philosophers.
And of course, YouTube is under significant pressure to silence some people.
But it is tough for the show and it is tough for me, personally.
I've been receiving complaints from some subscribers to the channel.
They say, well, we're not getting notifications of new shows or some people say my notifications got spam-binned or they got unsubscribed or their likes vanished for some reason and so on.
So that's a challenge. Now, the goal here in general is to give you, my lovely friends, you, the fans of the show, the impression that, well, I'm just taking the summer off.
I'm just not producing new shows.
And of course, if people don't see notifications for a while, many of them, many of you perhaps, well, you're canceling your financial support because you think I'm not producing anything else.
Now, along with the de-platforming suppression and usual attacks from the corporate media, my Wikipedia page has also been significantly sabotaged by leftists.
Never a fan page, of course.
Now it's turned into generally a horror show.
Now, Wikipedia, what is it?
It's a Soros-funded blog for incels.
It has no real credibility among the intelligent, but it is viewed as gospel by countless millions, which is why it's worth sabotaging.
So there's that as well.
But look, it's not all bad news.
There's some great news amongst all of this downward pressure.
So last year, I traveled to Poland and I produced a documentary on Poland.
And it was really good.
You should check it out at www.fdrurl.com forward slash Poland.
I'll put a link to it below. Now this year, I love doing these documentaries.
I've turned my focus on California.
So with the great production team behind the documentary, Hoaxed, I shot reams of interviews and speeches and confrontations throughout the glorious Golden State.
So over the next few weeks, I'm going to start releasing a documentary series.
It's going to blow the lid off all of the dysfunction and hypocrisy and potential and all of the complexity of California.
So check that out. It's going to be fantastic.
I've done some really, really great interviews and in particular listener calls lately.
I hope that you've been checking them out.
There's a whole... There's a whole playlist on YouTube of call-in shows.
It's really been some of my best work to date, and I really thank the listeners for their honesty and openness.
And I have even more of these wonderful conversations coming up.
Well, other positive news over the next couple of weeks.
I'm going to be unveiling a new website, which is really mobile, friendly, easier to navigate.
It's got a better layout.
It's got a blog and all kinds of cool stuff.
Other positive stuff that you don't see?
Oh man, if I could share my inbox with you, I would.
It's wonderful. I get so many positive messages about the show, about philosophy.
I get pictures of smiling, toothless newborn babies.
I get testimonies from parents who are so thankful that they've stopped hitting their kids, yelling at their kids.
There are newly married couples, people who are fresh, energized, and pumped to stop pursuing their life dreams.
It's all great stuff.
And it really boils me up, you know, what the media...
Taketh away you, my dear listeners.
Give back to me, and I thank you for that.
So, yeah, it's a mixed bag of good and bad news.
I believe that Free Domain Radio, the show, the upcoming documentary series and everything, it's better than ever.
But I think it's fair to say that opposition has escalated to some pretty hysterical and sometimes downright dangerous levels.
So... I want to share with you my approach to all of this.
It's really quite remarkable, I think.
So philosophy, as you know, is defined as the love of wisdom, but I've added to this by pursuing and enacting the wisdom of love.
And this is something that people have a tough time understanding if they don't really know what love is or how to live it, because everything, everything that I do is fundamentally motivated by love.
I want people to get along.
I want men and women, blacks and whites, everyone to get along better.
That's why I speak these difficult truths that are aiming to break down the barriers that keep us at this weird, suspicious distance from one another.
So I know that I act out of love and positivity.
So yeah, sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge to be portrayed as some sort of, you know, hateful lunatic.
I mean, if I were to mistake how I am lied about for who I actually am, I just, I couldn't continue.
So I have to commit to never ever do that.
So yeah, it is the strength of philosophy, the love of family and friends that keeps me going, but I also need something from you.
Look, my eternal friends, I think we all know this deep down this year, next year.
The real battle is upon us.
And what's going to win?
What's going to win? Is hatred of the truth going to win or is love of wisdom going to win?
Do we get civilized discourse or outright violence?
I mean, I feel, it feels like, maybe you feel differently, but I tell you for me, it really, really feels like this sort of end times of victory or defeat are upon us, and it's something that I have been getting ready for for 35 years.
I am tanned, relaxed, pumped, ready to rumble.
Because civilization, whether we keep it or lose it, is just willpower.
Do we want it enough?
Civilization is willpower, nothing more and nothing less.
And we can all act to protect and preserve civilization.
Me? I've been kind of lashed to the back of this mad horse of philosophy, and given the prevalence of lies and slander about me, I really don't have any chance or possibility to resume any kind of normal life.
That's fine. That's alright with me.
Normal, as the old song goes, the trouble with normal is it always gets worse.
So I'm ready for the fight, and I'm good at this fight.
Great, in fact.
I want what you want.
I want a free world for my daughter, for you and your children.
I am fully committed.
So... Can I ask for your help?
I'm going to. I'm going to ask for it clearly and openly.
I'm going to ask for it right now.
Please. Please.
Look. Flying out, flying people out, shooting and editing documentaries is very expensive.
Running this show is expensive.
Getting deplatformed is also very expensive.
So I really, I need, I need, I need your support to reverse the attrition of financial support that's been caused by suppression by people saying, oh, he's not producing shows anymore.
Why should I support? Like, I really, really need your help.
I'm begging you, please, please help me out.
Sign up for a subscription to keep this show going.
It's 10 bucks a month.
It's 30 cents a day.
A couple of coffees a month.
20 bucks a month. Super helpful.
It's less than a dollar a day and it's It's necessary.
Look, I'm going to be honest with you.
I'm going to keep things going.
It's a little harder to stay pumped and motivated if I keep seeing income decline, and that's really the purpose of all of this suppression.
And the purpose of suppression being to suppress income, I can fight views going down, but I can't fight the suppression of income.
I can't fix that. Only you can do that.
Now listen, I know, I know.
Look, some of you say, hey man, I support other truth tellers.
Look, I appreciate that.
And if you're short of money and you believe that some other media outlet, some other person is doing a better job than I am at bringing reason and evidence to the masses, please, by all means, go and support them.
If you think it's me, I think it's me.
If you think it's me, please, please support me.
Now, other people say, hey man, I'm broke.
I understand that. I've been there in my life.
So please, if you're broke...
Continue to consume and enjoy what I do, but like and subscribe and share what I do.
It costs you nothing, but it means everything to me and, I dare say, to philosophy.
Now, of course, another purpose of the lies about me is to make me an un-person, to make me radioactive so that sharing me becomes too risky.
And that way, my support dries up and I wither away.
Do not, do not let this happen, I beg you.
Look, these are the facts.
No one is bringing philosophy to the world like I am.
Over 600 million views and downloads.
Every single month, 100,000 free books on philosophy get downloaded.
There are countless lives that have been changed for the better.
Hundreds of thousands of children being raised peacefully, you name it!
And this is a combination of things.
Partly it's my talent.
Partly it's the internet.
And a lot of it has to do with you.
With you, my dear friends.
So please go to freedomainradio.com forward slash donate and help out the show.
