| Talk about philosophy, talk about important ideas, shocking scientific data, reasoned arguments and evidence with your friends and family. | |
| Bring philosophy into, when I used to run an R&D department in the software world, we'd been working for two days straight and it was sunny outside and one of my Lead programmer said, oh, let's go out into the big blue room and meet the flesh people, which, you know, I thought was a pretty good way of putting it. | |
| So take philosophy into the big blue room with the flesh people and show them the power and the joy and the excitement. | |
| That philosophy can bring because we really need it now. | |
| Things are, I don't know, I feel this. | |
| It's not an argument. I feel this. | |
| Things are kind of coming to a head. | |
| And I think bad people in the world have recognized we're not going to back down and they're gearing up and I think we need to gear up. | |
| We really need to put our shoulders to the wheel here. | |
| We have to roll back the growing control, the growing manipulation of free speech and political perspectives and philosophical arguments. | |
| We've got to push back against that wheel or we're going to get rolled over. | |
| You know, it has always struck me as a very powerful aspect of the English language that words and swords are but one letter apart. | |
| Civilization is the capacity to reason together. | |
| If we lose that, if we lose our capacity to reach each other through language, Fists come out and very very terrible things begin to manifest. | |
| This has been the case throughout history and there is no magic tomorrow that can escape the patterns of yesteryear. | |
| Words and swords. | |
| It's just one letter different and it is my hope that you can help Everyone, yourself, myself, everyone that you value and treasure, who's making essential public arguments for peace, for reason, for evidence, for philosophy, for freedom. | |
| That you do what is necessary to guard what we have all inherited. | |
| And so I ask for your support. | |
